I remember my secondary school days in the north early 90's. the mode for dressing for Christians in my school was a beret,skirt and blouse. for Muslims it was kaftan and scarf. it wasn't compulsory though as Christians could wear Muslims dress code or vice-versa. Till now, that's the dress code. Imagine that in a federal school.

This wouldn't have been an issue but for mutual suspicion and perception of subtle moves by fanatical leadership of the state to promote one religion over another. Growing up in Yorubaland was fun and interesting. Our parents spared us all these unnecessary bickering but bingo! Internet came and hate speeches everywhere, pettiness and unwarranted rivalry set in and people became paranoid.

Let any parent/student of any other orientation or faith declare it that it's part of their faith to dress in a particular way submit a proposal to the government detailing their preferred mode of dressing as uniform. So long that makes them happy.
Worldwide people use their religious mode of dressing to perform their duties or go to school.
Freedom of religion means we shall be free to practice or religion so long we don't inconvenience others. Problem is wearing Hijab seriously inconveniences Christians as if it were on their heads, they are not after wearing Church garments in fact they wouldn't want to! But they are so devastated by the sight of Muslimah in Hijab! What would only make them happy is for her to be like them and shed her Muslim identity and eventually faith.

They are not asking the Muslim girls not to wear whatever but the point is it reflects a religious connotation and so, every other faith should have same liberty. The fact they are not the ones wearing the hijab doesn't mean they can't be affected. Students in US had to undergo psychological intervention just cause Donald Trump's name was written on their walkways. Let everybody enjoy equal freedom. Osun state belongs to all faith and the governor must be SEEN to belong to nobody exclusively. What he offered them at campaign that made them to vote himwas better standard of living and not religious fanaticism.

Did u just say intolerance? u must be mistaken, Christians are very much more more more tolerant than Muslims. Infact, I could remember the governor trying to merge missionary schools with other schools then and achieving his own agenda which many saw as a wrong move. The governor surely has a hidden agenda, I would only blame CAN if this practice had being age long and they're trying to fight it as if it was very fresh.

Even if it had been age long, a day has to come when something starts. A stitch in time saves nine. I am not against anybody wearing his religious garments, just that the principle of equity must prevail. The governor acted foolishly and unfortunately this is the repercussion. In our world today, people read and imput meanings into actions and to say there's no mutual suspicion between Islam and Christianity is being naive. Government has no business in religion!

Very correct. It happened to the guy today. What of other girls that have been let down severally by guys? Truth is girls can't and shouldn't wait forever just because a guy professes loving them. Some youths don't even know where to draw the line between religion and politics. Every counter view regarding issues affecting the nation is seen as being politically motivated by detractors of the president.With all happening around which are widely reported, it surprises to see some people who would still want to wallow in denial. This jazz strong gaan ni! We cannot run away from this country just cos some people are fixated at a level of reasoning and would rather others are gagged. This move is even coming late as far as I'm concerned. They need to be proactive and be a step ahead. I don't trust anybody there now.
