Zonacom:Soludo should not rubbish himself in the press. NOI has a track record of integrity and unlike Soludo "DOES NOT HAVE POLITICAL ASPIRATION". I have been one of soludo's greatest supporters and i know the present path will ruin him. Soludo should know that choosing to be a hatchet writer for the APC will foreclose his political career, unless he has plans to be granted Katsina citizenship. As much as i loved Ngige for standing up against Obasanjo, i said the same thing when he tried to side with Fashola against Peter Obi during the Igbo deportation saga. What these men fail to see is that the Igbo does not see these as an attack against Peter Obi per se, they see it for what the consequences of these actions; which is siding with the enemies of the Igbo nation to rubbish us. It is the worst unforgivable sin any Igbo politician can commit and still come back to ask for Igbo votes. I wish soludo well in his new path. |
FreeGlobe:Peter Obi was not a saint. He doesn't have to be. He came, saw a disorganized state and did his best to improve it. His effort might be below your standard or expectation, but suffice to say that 99.9% of Anambra people testify that Peter Obi left Anambra better than he met it. Gov. Obiano simply became a governor because Anambra trusted whomever Peter Obi endorsed to succeed him. It says something about the man Peter Obi. |
Schematics:Thanks Bro. We are all here to rub minds maka odinma Anambra . Actually, some ideas are not mine. I come across some on many Igbo or other threads. I throw them out here just to stimulate a debate around their viability or not in Anambra. |
Zonacom:Truly, it doesn't bother me. As long as he is doing innovative things to improve the state. In Anambra, it is preferable to refer to one based on his traditional title than his personal name. Even Victor Umeh has popularized "Ohamadike" to the delight of many. So i think Obiano is simply following the prevailing way of doing things. I think Obi launched the era of wearing your own image and Ojukwu on your dress. Obiano simply towed the culture. I am sure party faithfuls will be seriously annoyed if he is doing all these and not showing they are his handiwork. |
Chiwude:Someone recently showed a satellite map of Anambra, and you could easily see that such heavy industries can only find space in the sparsely populated Anambra north. I can state without fear of contraction that except in Anambra north, you cannot find a complete 4KM stretch for an international airport runway anywhere without demolishing many houses and using the money for the project to pay hugely on property compensation. Obi Jackson could not even find enough land in Okija to build a regional hospital without serious conflict with the villagers and farmers! If Anambra must build those heavy industries within it's border, there is no other location for ample landmass required for them than to go north. |
Schematics:Nwanne, I ma na when it comes to quality , I am number one on your list. However, being mindful of the financial situation of the state, i am usually not frivolous with my suggestions. Ergonomics is all about using smart engineering design to make anything more user friendly, reduce cost and make a business more profitable. I believe the mall should be for everyone and the cost of owning a shop there should not be too outrageous. If not, that will be the LAST mall in Anambra because developers will feel it is unprofitable to build malls, as no anchors or customers will come in the quantity to make it profitable.I am aware of many malls that are empty simply because the cost of owning store is too expensive and therefore people don't patronize them because things sold at the mall is way too expensive. Across the world, tell me where you have seen an IPP for a single mall? Mind you, mall in many countries reach up to 120,000 sqm. Constructing an Independent Power plant for a single mall 15,000 sqm mall but not a refinery tells me you haven't looked at the cost of these infrastructure you are listing. You can very well construct an International cargo airport to specially deliver goods for the mall for the asking. Cutting cost of electricity is one good way to make a mall affordable to the anchors and the customers. You may have even seen such malls abroad but really haven't taken note of what they did and why. See some malls with natural lighting using transparent roof.

9inches:Bro, we all have our aim of coming here. Some come here to enjoy pictures, some come here to engage in tribal tirades or which Igbo state is superior.Mine is to help policy makers who may be here with many options about how they may improve the society. My contributions are not for your "excitement" or likeness. If not, i won't be wasting my time and data. As you may have guessed, my contributions are exactly to criticize the fine details and suggest probable measures to address them, in the hope it would lead to an even better outcome. Like i would always suggest having gutters on both sides of a road, because i want the roads to last longer in their pristine state. I saw that suggestion about transparent roof on the contractor's web page and decided to borrow it. Again, you donot know if I'm an engineer. So leave me to spoil my contribution the way i see fit. ![]() |
Comparing to the render.

Now, Can we have a General hospital building in Onitsha which is 15,000 sq.m containing all state of the art equipment such as CT scan,MRI, Cardiac units, Cancer Unit, Diabetes Unit and other medical specialties? We have come to an age where we should aspire for such standard things and leave the old vision of building poultry-like buildings as our hospitals. |
asha80:Yes Ma, Don't know how long ag they were taken, but they were posted yesterday on their facebook site |
More from Onitsha Mall Under construction.. I hope they use transparent roofing materials a lot, so that natural lighting for inside of the mall saves a huge deal on electricity cost of running the mall. Which will help make the stores more affordable.

Generals arming Boko Haram by prematurely withdrawing from them and leaving all the expensive weapons behind for Boko Haram to become stronger, should be prosecuted and punished |
Yoruba are like the Americans. They argue so much and sometimes look disorganized, but you can trust them to make the right decision in the end |
Still Enugu, the Coal City State.....
|
asha80:That is the million dollars question! In the light of the projected fall in revenue due to low oil price, it may be wise to prioritize which of the malls gets finished first. Perhaps, the Onitsha Mall should be focused on and completed this year. While the Nnewi and Awka malls will be the center of focus next year and completed too. |
Buhari and war. Does Buhari ever think about how to DEVELOP Nigeria? It's always war, war, war, war from his mouth?
|
IGBOSON1:It needs to be at least 2 floors to reach 22,000sq m in Enugu. If it has escalators, it must be at least 2 floors in some sections as some pics appear to be two floors though. I am so happy Obiano is pursuing this project to a logical conclusion. This project will definitely put Onitsha on the face of key destination cities in Africa
|
Buhari is a disaster.

SOURCE or Forget it! |
spyder880:I am concerned about AVOP. I grew up eating AVOP and it helped me grow up strong. When we refuse to support these little industries in our area, we export jobs/our resources to other places and import poverty to dwell with us. We MUST revive AVOP!!! |
olu77:Kudos to our military. But why can't we pursue Boko haram and sack them from all their hideouts? Next week, this same batch of Boko haram that ran away now will come back and sack Michika and the cycle will repeat again with its huge cost in the lives of soldiers and citizens of Michika. |
ducii:Okay, Ask him to speak in Hausa and talk about Jihad against 'infidels' and the speech would be 1-5 hours long. ![]() |
Samchelsea:Those soldiers illegally supplying Boko Haram with weapons by abandoning such weapons should be made to pay. |
Now that Clarke has warned Danjuma too, he better shut up! |
Aksonman:They will soon post another of Reinhard Bonke's crusade pictures and simply write "APC Benin rally" Wetin concern APC with integrity and telling the truth? |
Myluv1:If the Janjaweeed general will not ask his boko boys to continue behaving like animals |
The same 'oluwale' boys rigging everywhere. Look at the IP address of these "voters" All we are asking for in 2015 election is tight security to make rigging impossible. Any polling station where voting does not take place before 3 pm should be cancelled. Oluwole boys should rather campaign for real supporters now. Rigging will not work this time around. |
NafeesaAA:Shebi, Boko Haram thought this was our army that they had infiltrated heavily. So they expected them to easily withdraw and leave their weapons for BH to re-arm itself. Let the Chadians help us wipe out this menace once and for all. |
jimmayoy:We should allow the AU to send us troops to tackle Boko Haram terror menace. I am sure APC and all their Boko Haram sponsors & collaborators will find some lame excuse why we shouldn't accept AU's help. It has become obvious that our troops have been so infiltrated by Boko haram that they are either unwilling or incapable of dealing with this menace once and for all. |

I thank God Chad has refused to side with Boko Haram. I hope all Nigeria's neighbors stiffly oppose Boko haram too. If those moles in our army refusing to fight Boko will allow them to capture more cites inside Nigeria just to spite the nation's leadership, let them continue. Bottomline, boko haram are not welcome in Chad nor Cameroon territory anymore! |
eejo:We need Chadian troops to lead the African intervention force against Boko Haram! |
