When u listen to northern leaders not their political leaders, they dont seem to be overly scared of Igbos exiting Nigeria.
I ve listened and read their commentaries, for them its a thing of pride to point out they are not going to die or beg the igbos to stay.
The south south are indifferent, they seem to be waiting for the Igbos to liberate them.
The Yorubas on the other hand seem to be much frightened on Igbos exit. The question why they are most frightened is what I could not specifically grab.
Is it that it would be heard for them to separate from the north even if Igbo succeed in that quest or the belief that Igbos are the main reason the Fulanis have not overrun the entire country?

For the records, the Airport is called Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport Umueri.

It is a State project done with state money and not Obiano's personal fund.

All appropriations/allocation for the project passed through the State House of Assembly including the Name of the Airport.

Suggesting that the Airport should be named after Obiano is foolishness (and a day dream).

If other Governor's who built Airports in their respective states didn't name the Airport after their names, why must Anambra own be named after the governor?

Or is Obiano the first governor to build Airport?

If Anambra doesn't need an Airport, then Abuja does not need one.
Kaduna or kano Airports should have served them. And besides, it is mostly used by Politicians.
Please if you don't like Anambra Airport, You can go to Asaba,Enugu,IMO or even Bayelsa or Rivers and enter their own.
How somebody in his right state of mind will look a state with Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi, Ekwulobia and Ihiala axis and say Airport is a nonsense project.
My prayer is let there be massive investment in the airport. So that flight ticket will be cheapest like 10 to 20k.
All these our transport companies like GUO, young shall grow etc should look beyong hiace bus and think like Innoson who started with okada spare parts importation.
Partner and upgrade to flight services. We want flight ticket to be around 10k.
We don't want Nigeria sentiment that aeroplane is for the well to do alone in our Anambra Airport.

I don't care what haters say about the airport in Umueri via Aguleri. Hate can only poison the bearer no one else. The airport has taken off and its completion and eventual use to the glory of God and Anambra state is on course. My only appeal is that it should be named after the builder, Chief Willie Obiano Akpokuedike Ndi Igbo. I trust the incoming governor Chukwuma Soludo to give him that honour for breaking the jinx.

what is it that china gives them that isnt available back home? Do you have light 247? Can your representatives ensure gas facilities are built in onitsha?( though they being built in egbema and aba at the moment?) ..if you can't guarantee that then no use wondering why they site their manufacturing outfits in China

Those saying the terminal building is small, don't know what they are saying. This airport's terminal building is already bigger than the Banjul International airport terminal. If the place is efficient, in processing arrivals and departures, it will never be crowded. One huge mistake i hope they will also avoid is placing the car park too close to the terminal building like at the Enugu Intl. airport.

I hate many Nigerian airports because as soon as you exit the terminal building, you are already on the airport VIP route, so close to the public car park with mad drivers blaring horns and harassing the new arrivals with their cars. It always makes Nigeria look like the land of mad people to a new visitor Nigeria from sane countries.

I noticed Asaba airport was an exception to this rule of car parks placed so close to the terminal building. In Asaba, they placed their car park a little distance from the terminal and blocked the VIP car route so that taxis are forced to park in the car park at all times, not along the VIP airport route as in many Nigerian airports.

Again, I really enjoyed a trip to Banjul, Gambia. This airport terminal was small but decent and efficient. Most importantly, one great ambiance in Banjul is that once you exit their terminal building, you walk about 75 meters of well manicured flower walkway before you get to the VIP car route. Then walk about 100 meters to the car park! Nairobi airport also has a similar distance to the public car park. This distance of the terminal building from the public car park makes the terminal calm with a unique tranquility even when there is maddening blaring of horns and chaos of a typical African airport car park. I hope that this is considered in how close the car park is placed to the terminal building at Anambra International airport.

Obiano is finally bequeathing Anambra with one the best airports in West Africa!

Everything from the access roads, Main Airport gate, runway, taxiway, car parks, fire stations, Emergency medical clinics, 2 level terminal building, Water supply station, mini power station was well thought out!!! With more space for future expansion and development!

The official airport January 2021 Status Update video released by the state government! O'lboy, this is indeed a massive project. Everything is done at the best international standard!!!

Anambra finally has a true international airport to facilitate trade and commerce without depending on the whims and caprices of others!
I am hoping the begin planting trees, flowers and grass now around areas that no further construction is needed. Also they need beautiful trees and flowers along the main airport road all the way to the parking lots to give it the best ambiance possible!

If you bothered to read what I wrote you would note I said NIGERIA is being left behind. So no its not just Anambra but most Nigerian states that are pathetically backward while many parts of Africa are moving forward.

Ghana built a wondrous terminal at Kotoka that put Nigeria and all its oil money to shame.

Addis has a functioning city rail project while Lagos cannot even finish just one. Go and compare BRT in Dar es Salaam to the nonsense in Lagos

Many of these countries take urban infrastructure seriously. Again pointing to slums like Kibera in Nairobi means nothing. After all what is Makoko, Ajegunle and Mushin?

We need to stop celebrating failure and mediocrity especially in Anambra which has a large concentration of brains.

.....and how does all these crap about Addis Ababa rail or Ghana airport in these African capital cities BUILT BY THEIR FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS concern Anambra STATE? In sane countries, it is their Federal Govt. that will be building the Anambra intl. airport to boost commerce in those countries the same way the Nigerian FG built ALL airports in northern Nigeria to boost Hajj operations ( EXCEPT Katsina airport).

To begin with, Anambra isn't the capital of Nigeria. So you are preaching to the choir. Please exit the thread and go to Nigerian threads where such would be appropriate to plead that Abuja or Lagos airport should come to par with Kotoka Intl. airport.

It is also hilarious that you are posting the Addis Ababa rail here. To begin with, railways are in the "exclusive list" in Nigeria's constitution where state governments are banned to build railways. Again, if you were sincere, you would be agitating that the silly 1999 constitution that bans states from building critical infrastructure be taken town. But you would not do that because the truth is that you truly don't want to see development in Anambra. You just want to hide under irrational excuses that does not make sense to justify why you would never applaud the state for truly punching above its weight.

Even rich states like mine took more that 8 years under Uduaghan to build an airport! Obiano is well on track to repeat the feat in less than 2 years! Mind you Anambra does not even see up to 50% of the revenue available to Delta state. Not to mention others such as Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, katsina, Rivers, Akwa Ibom etc that enjoy gigantic federal allocation. The only state that is punching above its weight like Anambra is Ebonyi.

Your bitterness and wicked heart towards Anambra and her people will continue to bring you frustration in life because you truly can't do a thing against anyone God has blessed. That is why Nigeria is in such tattered state because instead of supporting Igbos to build a strong Nigeria, they have concentrated on how to marginalize Igbos and under develop Nigeria in the process. What i love about that situation is that in the end, they will all wake up someday and realize that as they spent precious time meeting to develop wicked plans & policies against Igbos, the Igbos themselves did not waste their own time on planning evil for them. Instead the Igbos busied themselves with how to develop themselves. In the end, when they are jealous and call Igbos names for their achievements, they forget they spent their own time thinking and plotting evil while the Igboman spent his own time on how to better himself. Just like you right now, i would advise you to use your time better on what is beneficial for your state. Osun state needs your power of research to tell them who to copy in order to come out of their financial mess. Than coming here with all sorts of half clever deceit that end up fooling nobody. You are wasting your time and using your talent for evil.

BTW, i hope you have seen the picture showing the asphalting of the airport 3.7 KM runway in progress. If you haven't seen it, let me post it again for you. So keep eating out your heart.
