What do you think? cheesy
You are absolutely right. Nigerians need to suffer more to learn the basic decency of opposing corruption regardless of their relationship with the corrupt individual. I have since realized that Buhari was a blessing to help Nigeria. A necessary evil.

Presidential elections are not things of sentiments. Obi knows he cannot win even in a free and fair election of a real democratic country. Not to mention a quasi-democratic state like Nigeria where every democratic institution like INEC and Judiciary are controlled by the ruling party in a similar fashion used by Putin in Russia to control results of "elections".

Again, the corrupt but highly pretentious nature of Peter Obi has thoroughly been exposed. Peter Obi's candidature are MAINLY supported by supporters of Tinubu. Who figure that it will be far easier to defeat Peter Obi than a strong northern candidate! Fortunately, the PDP will not just throw away its chances of returning to government in 2023 with a strong northeast candidate just to massage Peter Obi's ego.

Moreso, Buhari has also taught Nigerians that the fact that someone preaches anti corruption during electoral campaigns does not mean he will not be corrupt when the opportunity comes when he is in power

APC goons are merely supporting their PDP mole (Peter Obi) to use him to weaken the PDP's chances of removing them from office in 2023.

It is clear that with the power of incumbency and a very powerful presidency controlling INEC and the security forces, there is ZERO chance of PDP defeating APC with an Igbo candidate in 2023. Even Peter Obi knows this.

The PDP must allow a Northeast candidate with a very high guarantee of defeating APC to fly the flag in 2023 to wrestle power from APC. With the understanding that it will zone the presidency to the southeast when it is already in control of the federal government.

No wonder he forced his stooges Obaze and Ozigbo on his party in his desperation but thank God that Obiano frustrated him all through. He must have begged Governor Soludo to grant him that favour as a payback for attending his swearing in gringrin Don't get any ideas.
Peter Obi is a thief and a very sad joke. The only more disheartening thing is that some Anambrarians are still deceived by his pretenses. From preaching about the need for everyone to invest in Nigeria instead of stashing money abroad while stashing his own hundreds of millions of dollars in hidden overseas accounts.

To preach "APUGA bu nke anyi in front of Ikemba, Chief Emeka Ojukwu!" But being the first to dump the APGA for PDP immediately he used the party to achieve political power. Even while Ojukwu was still alive and totally shocked at Peter Obi's typical chameleon behavior. To all his numerous schemes to maintain his drainpipe into Anambra treasury or he would make the governor an enemy.

Peter Obi isn't better than Chris Ubah in character. The only difference is that Peter Obi is educated, so he pretends about his true character in public, while Chris Ubah without the benefit of education does not care.

APC is doing what it should as a responsible political party to prevent criminals from securing positions of public trust.

Peter Obi has huge skeletons in his cupboard. From the PANDORA PAPERS exposition of Peter Obi's secret foreign accounts running into millions of dollars in each account that he did not declare to the code of conduct bureau during assets declaration to stealing N250 million naira and trying to settle it as a witch hunt.

Peter obi should come clean and tell Nigerians why he could be trusted with public funds!

I heard petitions have already been submitted to EFCC for this theft to be thoroughly investigated.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has called on the Inspector General of Police, Mohamamed Abubakar to publish the police report on the N250 million allegedly found in the company of an aide to Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State.

In June 2009, the police reportedly intercepted a convoy in front of the Governor’s International office in Apapa Lagos and found ten suitcases containing N250 million, accompanied by one of the governor’s aides.

In a statement made available to DailyPost on Tuesday, APC Zonal Publicity Secretary for the South-East, Osita Okechukwu, said the IG should publish the police report without further delay.

The APC expressed shock that although the police were yet to conclude investigation into the money laundering case, the Anambra State House of Assembly passed a resolution, exonerating Governor Obi from the matter.

According to Okechukwu, it had become imperative to publish the report because any vote for Obiano, the APGA candidate in the November 2 Anambra governorship polls, could translate to “a vote for continuation of the monthly haulage of N250 million from the state”.

“We want the IG to let us know where the investigation stopped. Anambra people deserve to know about the money found in Governor Obi’s convoy, especially now that they are going to polls to decide who becomes the next governor of the state after Governor Obi.

“The fact that Governor Obi is projecting Obiano, a man who has sufficient interest in Fidelity Bank like himself, makes our fears more worrisome. The people in Anambra should not be allowed to vote for the continuous looting of their resources”, Okechukwu said.

He also alleged that for seven good years, Governor Obi never bought any traditional ruler a vehicle, but now the election was three weeks away, he had been going about presenting jeeps to traditional rulers and town union presidents in a desperate bid to install his business partner.
https://dailypost.ng/2013/10/22/apc-tasks-igp-on-n250-million-allegedly-found-on-governor-obis-aide/

The simple reason people have been so annoyed with Peter Obi and his online crew's attempt to tarnish Obiano's image is because Obiano really worked and transformed the state!

Peter Obi took Anambra's money and invested part of them as his own shares in interfract breweries of South Africa. Yet, nobody is even talking about it. By the way, we know Peter Obi NEVER completed any major project in Anambra. He claimed he "invested" the money into dubious ventures. Why can't he come out and list these "investments" he made for the state instead of building infrastructure that Obiano had to do because he failed?

There no administration that won't inherit or leave abandoned projects it's normal

Can you list ANY of Obiano's abandoned projects?

In fact, many people were asking him to leave some of the projects for the next administration, but he wanted to complete every project he started. INCLUDING even student hostels in all the technical colleges in the state!

What Peter Obi isn't saying is that at the twilight of his administration, he also flagged off the construction of 43 new roads, Employed 10,000 more civil servants, a long list of abandoned road projects that had been going on for more than 5 years in his tenure, and abandoned huge capital-intensive projects such as Onitsha mall, Agulu Lake Hotel, Onitsha hotel, Ikenga mall etc.

Mr Peter Obi, former Anambra State Governor, has explained why he saved money for the state during his tenure.

Obi had, during the twilight of his tenure as governor of Anambra State, announced that he was leaving behind N75 biliion for his successor, Chief Willie Obiano.

The explanation by the ex-governor on why he saved is coming after the incumbent, Prof Chukwuma Soludo recently stated on national television that he met only a paltry N300 million in the coffers of the government, with a debt of over N100 billion.

Obi stated the reason he saved massively for the state in a press release by his media aide, Mr Valentine Obienyem.

Whether Obiano left more assets that he is given credit for, than liabilities being blown with trumpet now. Prof. Soludo has ZERO EXCUSE not to perform. We all have high expectations of Prof Soludo to come and fix the broken system and he must move on and deliver on his promises.

Anambra today is an oil producing state due to Obiano's efforts. Yet, he did not benefit a penny from all the effort that he invested.

Today you see all sorts of politicians vying for Igbo presidency and crying to take over from Buhari to fix Nigeria. It will amount to 419 if we elect them and they start crying about Buhari's debt instead of working hard to fix the country we elected him to fix. As if they don't know right now that there will be debt and they are still vying to be elected to do things differently and fix the country.

I am glad that Obiano left many solid legacies as opposed to those who would leave liabilities with zero legacies. Some of Obiano's legacies will also generate new sources of revenue for the government. Which was not there during Obiano's administration.

Prof Soludo, with all due respect, i think i speak for many if i state that we will not take this as an excuse. Please find alternative ways to deliver on your promises because disappointing us will be a huge trauma.
I had been thinking the same thing praying that the interview isn't a dress rehearsal to test the waters if this can be a good excuse to renege on the ambitious Solution transformative manifesto.

Moreso that a quasi-Peter Obi online outfit NJENJE MEDIA headed by Tochukwu Ezeoke had been begging for money from its subscribers to bash Obiano as though he didn't achieve anything in the state and left liabilities. They should compare the truly massive debts in other states like Imo, Abia or Enugu where no worthwhile projects were executed and civil servants are owed up to 1 year arrears in some cases to understand that Obiano was a massive blessing to their state.

Any good institution in Nigeria is ALWAYS BASTERDIZED by our Fulani brothers. WHY??

For more than 6 months now, EFCC said they have evidence from Malami's letter before Anambra's election that Obiano stole Anambra's Paris club refund, that Obiano stole 37 billion withdrawn in cash, today, the story is about SureP and federal allocation! grin

Abubakar Malami must produce his evidence against Obiano and take him to court. Enough of this humiliation of ndigbo and bastardization of national institutions by mere thugs in government.
PoliticsRe: Victor Umeh: Obiano Spent Anambra Money Judiciously Well by Cjrane2:
Fulanis only know how to bastardize anything they touch. Even a good institution set up to help the nation check corruption is bastardized by them for politics and vendetta.

Since the Anambra elections, Abubakar Malami claimed Obiano stole Paris club refund, then changed it to SureP, then changed it to stealing security votes, then changed it to withdrawing 37 billion naira in cash. All these months after these allegations, zero "evidence" has been produced to take Obiano to court and jail him if this wasn't a bad taste politics by Malami and Aso rock cabals! Instead, they humiliate him.

Meanwhile, we know of the real thieving governors even caught on camera pocketing dollars given as bribes in a sting operation! But the same EFCC and Malami said it was mere "angle of the camera" because he is their own.

EFCC is the next agency to be scrapped unless it is subject to transparent civil processes and the rule of law. The abuse of federal institutions by Fulanis for political vendetta is totally unacceptable.

Meanwhile, their online goons are already buying space in this thread to spam it and try to stifle the opinions of the people. They will try to make it look like they are Yoruba posters to divert attention. But nobody is fooled.

Again as so many have already noted, the overconfidence of the Fulanis in the abuse of powers of the federation is what will send Nigeria where Putin's overconfidence and abuse of power has sent Russia.

Rich4god:
If you have been following the Russia-Ukraine war, you will knw that this is a fight that Russia can not win. Except if they are ready to keep killing Ukrainian till their moral and hope is lost.

Putin plan is probably to take over the capital and replace Ukrainian president. And since president Zelensky is still in Ukraine, he might either be captured by russian troops or killed in action.

Now if either of the two happen, Putin is putting himself in a bad light and this action will make Ukrainians to keep fighting.

If putting installs another president that is loyal to him in Ukraine, considering the circumstances in which the person came into power, he will definitely find it difficult to control or rule over Ukrainians.
That means russian troops will have to be in Ukraine to help control security.

And before you start making comparison to what the US did in other country....

Before the US invaded any country, more than 25-50 percent of the countries citizen have already started to revolt against the siting president, that way the US have already found a soft ground and back up to invade, occupy and install Thier puppet as the president.

Before the US intervened in Libya, almost half of Libyan population are revolting against Gadafi.

Protests were on going in Syria.

In Afghanistan, majority of Afghans are tired of Taliban.

In Iraq, there were already growing resentment about Saddam Hussein.

All these circumstances made it easy for the US to invade the mentioned countries, and as such, it now seemed as if the US came in to assist the people.

The same cannot be said of this current war between Russia and Ukraine. And aside from Donesk and Lugansk, majority of Ukraine are on the side of the president. So how can Putin get out of this ACT with his head above his shoulder.

This war is a lose lose situation for Putin, making Zelensky the hero out if this situation.
Russia reminds one of Fulanis.

Their overconfidence in starting a war of attrition with their perceived enemy and counting on their superior number of tanks, artillery, and airplanes led them into this type of senseless war that they cannot win.

Russia will come out of this adventure worse than North Korea until Putin is removed. The same way our Fulani overlords have managed to destroy and diminish the potential of Nigeria through the unnecessary war of attrition against perceived enemies in Nigeria.

When i see how over-confidence took Russia into a conflict with poor and weak Ukraine, i remember our own Fulanis that are over-confident about wars.

Russia will likely destroy itself, it's military and its economy by foolishly attacking a "weak" Ukraine because it thought it had multiple armored tanks, warplanes, artillery and soldiers more than weak Ukraine could ever have.

In the same manner, Nigerian Fulani leaders see war outcome as merely who has more planes, tanks, and artillery at the start of the war. Therefore, there is a ruinous over-confidence to rush to war at the slightest opportunity instead of dialogue.

Russia will learn the bitter lessons of the Romans, the Nazis, and all other mighty empires in history. War isn't always a straightforward affair.

Sir,

I don't know where you came from. I have never read your comment here. I just want you to know that faceless people like you cannot cajole me away from pushing for a glorious Anambra state. I know Prof Soludo means every word to do his best for Anambra state. We shall pray for him and always remind him of his promises in order to sustain his morale to do the difficult job necessary in liberating Anambra state.

I support and have always supported Prof Soludo. While very much aware that to build a prosperous and liveable Anambra state, he must be ready to confront those powerful forces currently benefiting from the use of thugs to steal our IGR and stifle development in the state. Some of these men are the first to buy him 10 pages congratulatory messages on the pages of newspapers and throw parties in his honor at every juncture. We know Prof Soludo means well for our people. However, the trappings of power and the master treachery of those who know how to use it can prevent one from doing what is right. Even when he intended to do so.

We shall be HERE to remind him and point out his promises if he ever grows soft on doing what is necessary to salvage and transform Anambra state. It is NOT going to be easy. But we shall support him in prayers and always remind him of his mission so that he does not give up when the going gets tough.
GBAM! Excellently said.

Soludo should know that the men he is up against are extremely wealthy men who are masters of deceit. They have already started trying to undermine his political base by creating an artificial rift between him and APGA leadership. They know the game they are playing! The same people that praised Peter Obi to high heavens and immediately switched to Obiano afterward have already switched to his praise as the best thing to ever happen on earth. Idi Amin called them "slippery characters" and he is aptly correct in that description.

Soludo must shine his eyes very well! The enemies of Anambra state do not live in the moon. They are all-powerful Judases around him and gradually trying to make him think everyone is bad except themselves. He should expect betrayals from these men when they fail in their plot to manipulate him into "Us" versus "Them" camps in order to insulate their evil stranglehold from Soludo's reforms to liberate the state.

But if Soludo remains steadfast in pursuing his principal goal of a prosperous and liveable Anambra state, all loyal citizens of the state will back him against these highly treacherous people lurking around the corners to somehow use praise and vanity to weaken his resolve to go against people who have pocketed the state and frustrated meaningful development.

I was just saying this on the imo thread, if project A is done in Ebonyi/Imo/Enugu they will praise it to high heavens and then turn around to tell us why we don't need same project A in Anambra. When Anambra was buiding an airport, they were all over the place telling us why Anambra doesnt need an airport, now they are telling us to wait until Umahi finishes his airport to see quality.. That was why they were very happy and started circulating pics of some roofs in the Airport being blown away by winds.
The reason most of them hate Obiano is because he dared to give Anambra such projects that they don't have in their states. Even Umahi they praise is always copying Obiano for reason I don't know, he started his flyovers after Obiano did Awka flyovers, started Ebonyi Airport after Obiano launched Anambra Airport, now starting an Olympic stadium after the Awka Stadium. While Obiano has completed all his ptojects lets see how many Umahi will complete.
Obiano's projects and achievements are very tangible things that nobody can deny exist. Else, the opposition would have denied all of them.

Umahi copies Obiano because he wants to surpass him and somehow prove that Ebonyi is more developed than Anambra. I support such healthy competition as long as it promotes the development of Igboland.

Good evening guys!

Please I beg you in the name of whatever you serve, don't derail this thread by turning it to tribal fights. I want us to learn and want others to learn also.

I am Yoruba and this thread is for us to learn.

First of all, everyone here knows I dislike Tinubu and all that he represents. The simple reason is because he was majorly the brain behind the coalition that brought in the present government into power.

GEJ's government had a lot of goodwill coming into power but his tenure was wasteful and millions of us thought Buhari would do better. We voted enmasse for Buhari/Osinbajo but alas, it turned out to be the worst ever decision by many. We were simply deceived.

Things have gone from Bad to worst in the last 7 years and most of those (Tinubu, Bakare, etc.) that Protested and rallied people against GEJs government see nothing wrong with it. So to me, Tinubu can't bring in an evil government, stay silent for 8 years and then convince me he's the best thing we need. NEVER

I mostly live in the SS and the people of the place have long moved on from the the defeat of their "son". The region even seem more peaceful now than when GEJ was in power.

I do not want to believe it's ethnic hatred for Yorubas like some people always say because Obasanjo is Yoruba. He was president for 8 years, he has always spoken against Biafra, he fought in the civil war but yet Igbos like him more than Yorubas or so it seem. This might be disputed but we all know he enjoyed massive votes from SE compared to the SW where he hails from.

So, to my South East guys... Do we share the same sentiments? Do you dislike Tinubu for his role in bringing in this government or are there other reasons? None of my friends offline have given me clear cut reason hence the reason why I brought it here.

One hopes that Soludo does not end up a theorist that gets everything right on paper, but can't deliver much in real life.

One thing about Obiano is that he is a hands-on type of leader. he focuses on a few things and makes sure he delivers on them.

The venue of the meeting was still inside the International Convention Center!!!

Now Anambra has a befitting venue for big or small gatherings. I just hope that Prof Soludo will expedite the construction of the International Convention Center Hotel so that staff working in the hotel can be used to regularly clean and maintain the ICC edifice. Else, it will surely become a junkyard in a few years like every Nigerian edifice built without a solid maintenance plan.
Exactly!

Just like Eko International Convention Center and the Lagos Sheraton International convention centers retained their pristine condition due to being attached and maintained by the staff of a major 5-star hotel.

Unless the accompanying hotel is built for the Awka International Convention Center, it will ultimately fall into disrepair and be abandoned. The average civil servant does not know how to sweep and mop a cement office floor where they work every day. Thus, giving them granite marble to maintain is just asking for the impossible.
