All the cases the laid from the beginning in order to stop Soludo is being thrashed out by the courts, I wonder why they hate Soludo this much.
It is not because they hate Soludo, they were totally out to capture Anambra by all means necessary. They plotted the declaration of a state of emergency using unknown gunmen but were outwitted by Obiano. Moreso, Obiano shamed them publicly by stating that the President had no such intentions other than conducting a free and fair election in Anambra. So Malami felt so ashamed that he had to discredit Obiano with fake allegations of corruption.

Notice that Anambra was not among the states that collected much from the Paris club refund. Also, notice that Buhari asked that the refund be paid to states to pay off all owed workers' salaries and complete key infrastructural projects. Notice that the disbursements were in 2017, so why is Malami bringing this up in 2021 a few weeks to the end of Obiano's tenure? Note that Anambra received a total of N17 billion from the Paris Club refund. This was before even site clearing at the international airport site was done. So clear infrastructural project after the receipt was evident. Now ask yourself what infrastructural projects happened in the states on the list below.

Moreover, the same Malami has not questioned Ganduje that got N33 billion, El-Rufai got 24 billion, and Aminu Masari that got N25 billion of what visible projects they did with the money.

Now notice that the APC states never paid workers' salaries and many are still owing many months of arrears of salaries. Not to mention that they had no identifiable infrastructural projects in those states! Many of the states that collected more than 50% of what Anambra got are even owing workers' salaries! Yet, EFCC isn't bothering them with what they did with the money! But, will accuse Obiano who paid off the workers' salaries, completed what is agreed to be one of the most modern airports in Nigeria with the second-longest runway of funds 'mismanagement"! Go figure!

Let him remain their. Let the speaker or whoever hand over to Soludo. Being Igbo has already put him at a disadvantage. Those people just want to drag him and tarnish his image. He should come back after 2023 and defend himself. Not now.
I agree. Being an Igbo is a crime in present Nigeria. It's even worse for Igbos who are not in APC.

They know that they have nothing on him, but they will just detain him indefinitely to humiliate him and show him that they run Nigeria and do whatever they like without any consequences. The same people persecuting Obiano and southerners for phantom mismanagement have not found it expedient to arrest northern governors even caught on tap collecting bribes!

He should just remain there until these mad people are out of power. Then he could return and clear his name. In any case, once they hand over, they will release a statement that their investigation found no mismanagement against Obiano. Which tells you they just wanted to show him they can abuse federal powers to humiliate him.

If you notice that the many northern and western APC controlled states received much more Paris club refunds than Anambra, yet there are zero projects in those states compared to Anambra, you would understand why this is merely an excuse to investigate Obiano for some spurious allegation and humiliate him to show him the power of those in federal government offices.

How do you chase them from your farms you complain that they destroyed and you allow them to enter Atani farms to wreck havoc on the next village? So that after they have wrecked the farms of Atani village, they will be back to your farms to continue the destruction. What sense does it make to chase them to the border of the next community's farms?

These herdsmen don't care whose farm crops they use in feeding their animals.

Excellent infrastructures/roads are being mapped out and constructed at the Awka Millennium city. The best precinct in the region for the creme dela creme. This is our own Banana island in igboland.
This is an excellent development but it is too small in land area to massively transform Anambra state as desired.

Similar quality of new housing development of liveable estates led by the example of AMC should be expanded and started in two or three more locations in the state.

Perhaps a similar initiative is adopted for building the international Airport City and a similar development for the waterfront city on the bank of the River Niger/Omambala River for the development of hotels and resorts to attract tourists and holidaymakers to that part of the state. Since Air Peace already indicated an interest in building a waterfront hotel to house its expatriates in the MRO, they should be approached as core investors in the development of the waterfront city.

OreMI22:
EXACTLY! This approach makes it impossible because even if he wanted to join, it will now become an admission of guilt

He said the Anambra International Airport was "inflated" and "white elephant" project. Yet, the same Abubakar Malami wrote the National Security Adviser to instruct closure of the airport! If it were a white elephant project as he claimed, he should leave the airport and nobody will use it and it will naturally die without forceful closure of the airport through abusing federal powers.

Likewise, we know resurfacing of 3KM Enugu airport runway WITHOUT Centerline and Edge Runway lights cost Nigeria a whopping N10 Billion Naira. The Anambra airport runway is 3.7KM long with 1KM runway safety ends, Category 2 Instrument Lighting system, and Edge & Center runway lights, yet the runway and 300M by 200M tarmac were built with less than N10 Billion naira using an internationally reputable construction company (Craneburg)! Not to mention that the runway was built from the scratch with leveling of hills on the path and the re-direction of two rivers running across the path.

Again, if we estimate how much it costs to build the Enugu international terminal so far (Even if its not completed) and compare it to how much the Anambra Intl. airport terminal with escalators, lifts, scanners, carousels, etc, it is obvious that it's a miracle of financial prudence of what has been achieved so far. Not to mention the car park, the gatehouse, water supply systems with reservoir, main access dual-carriageway leading to the facility with twin bridges, etc.

Again, Abubakar Malami is abusing executive office by illegally using the office of the attorney general of the federation to use respectable federal institutions for political vendetta. In the long run, those who abuse their offices as alpha and omega will understand how democracy works.
Tomorrow they will change the story and say it was not the Paris club refund that it was the IGR or one thing or the other.

Why can't Malami just understand that choosing a well-known crook like Andy Uba to fly the APC flag in a state that the party wasn't popular was the biggest idiocy that led APC to a resounding defeat, and stop attacking a governor with an absolutely sterling performance in office?

Tomorrow they will give Evans the kidnapper the APC ticket for Senate and still expect the people to vote for the kidnapper against other eminently qualified candidates.

If they can make a residential estates law that every new estate should have a dual carriage main entrance.

Even if they can only tar one lane at present. But must have space for the second lane in the future. This will ensure that those areas are not congested and liveable when its fully built and populated.

Likewise, all new state roads within the Awka capital territory must be dual carriage roads. They should at least leave space for the second lane if it cannot be done as dual carriage at the present. Just like Chime ave. Was designed as dual carriage road in 1922, but the second lane was only added in 2009 without demolishing a single property!

Its now obvious that those bent on sabotaging development in the south-east zone are already hiding behind mere counters to prevent the Anambra International Airport from operating.

They will never agree to visit the airport for an inspection to see the Air Peace counters. So i urge the airport delivery team to produce a similar video to the one produced on April 29th. Where they showed the runway had been completed and marked for all to see prior to the test flight.

Like the April video, this video should start at the beginning of the airport road with the Onitsha expressway. Then continue to the gatehouse, car park, terminal building and inside the building showing the Air Peace counters and functional facilities and chairs. Including all other passengers convinces as toilets, luggage carousels etc. Then the completed runway with the landing lights. Also show the functional fire truck for those who said there was none at the airport.

This video will be proof that those claiming there are no chairs and counters at the airport as their reason for keeping it closed as liars.

The video date will also document for posterity that the terminal building was also completed and functional in November 2021. For revisionists that will definitely try to deny history that the facilities weren't there as of October 30th 2021.
GBAM!!!

In fact those revisionists tried so hard to refute the fact that the airport was built within 15months. But the April video which showed the completed and marked runway, ATC Control tower, terminal building, parking lot, internal roads etc did not let them say these facilities were not ready as of April 29th, 2021 .

Fortunately, there were also ample youtube and Facebook videos showing construction at the site only happened in 2020. So their mischief was to simply emphasize that the airport was awarded in 2017. Then won't mention that the Chinese partners pulled out in 2019 without doing the job. Thus the state government stepped in 2020 to do the project with state funds.

Making videos and timestamping them is very important in this environment swarming with shameless revisionists who play politics with our people's development.

I love the little green I saw in your picture. I remember when the effort to plant grass around the Kenneth Dike library was going on. Glad the place looks green now and not red soil.

While everyone is obsessed with flyovers, I hope the importance of trees and grass isn't forgotten. Truly, it is the trees and grasses that make a place liveable. If you look at the number of flyovers in the Bronx, you'd think it would be the most liveable place in America. While in truth, it is placed with a lot of trees, flowers, and grass that are indeed liveable!

A law to mandate that every house must plant at least one tree in front of it will ensure that Anambra streets are not just conducive but beautiful.

Good quality concrete roads are more durable with life span of 50years and above, but far more expensive than alsphalt roads.
That is what everyone expects. But in Nigeria everything is always upside down.

Foreign and local Contractors charge between N200 million to N400 million naira for just 1KM of Asphalt road! If you are unlucky to have a culvert or small bridge they need to build, it can easily be N1 billion naira!

That is why folks are now seriously advocating for concrete roads as the few civil engineering foreign contractors in Nigeria now charge hundreds of millions of naira for just 1KM of asphalt road. Not just that concrete roads are cheaper, they require less technology to get it right as you can control the shape of the cement before it hardens. Most importantly, it prevents capital flight through these foreign construction companies and creates A LOT of jobs for the unemployed youths.

My brother their local workforce na our best contractors so let's not go their. Apart from functionality we should also look at aesthetics. If we desire modern cities, we should do away with mediocrity. Moreover, other options like road grade interlocks should be considered.

More importantly is forging partnership with the private sector. I even feel an executive order mandating landlords, especially in major built-up areas, to contribute to construct their roads should be considered. Many estate roads in Lagos were built using development levies. That is the only way places like Awada and co can wear a modern look. They normally have enough money to build 5 decking, but can't contribute 500k to build drainage.
I agree with you on doing high-quality job and using the private sector, landlords, etc. But the truth is that those won't be enough to address the huge gap in unpaved roads.

I agree that the Ebonyi artisans do a rough job on the Ebonyi roads, but we can then look out to do a fine finishing than reject the whole concept altogether simply because of Ebonyi artisans. it is like rejecting to build your house with cement because contractors of your neighbor's house in the village did such a shoddy job. While you forget the houses built with cement in Banana island and Abuja where they paid attention to detail using the same cement!

Even Ghana is switching to a concrete roads policy to build durable roads as quickly as possible, and within their budget.

You are just on point. I wonder what people fancy in those poor quality works executed in Ebonyi. You can never get good finish with direct labour. I just imagine what those roads will look like much later.
I think that's why the point of using direct labor to build adjoining streets and internal roads in our cities and LGAs. While intrastate roads that usually experience high speed are done with asphalt.

The truth is that without the use of reinforced concrete and direct labor, there is NO WAY you can pave all the internal roads in Nnewi, Awada/Obosi, Odekpe/Atani, Nkwelle Ezunaka/Nsugbe, to Awka, and all the new urban neighborhoods even in 50 years. Using direct labor to tackle some types of roads was a masterpiece strategy by Ebonyi state. Else today, the entire state and their state capital would be filled with muddy-red earth unpaved roads.

Most countries of the world today are using concrete roads to save costs and build durable internal streets in their countries.

Even in America, all the internal street roads are done by the local government using their own construction workforce (i;e 'DIRECT LABOR"wink. Meanwhile, an average American local government is richer than an average Nigerian state. Yet, even the Ameican county knows that they cannot pave all the streets within their LGA unless they use direct labor! Even as rich as they are!

No road mark.
For me asphalt is the best
The issue with Ebonyi roads are not because they were done with concrete, but they were also done by illiterate bricklayers without professional and experienced road construction engineers supervising them . So they just pour the concrete the way to do "german floor" in local village buildings. It is the same situation of asphalt roads done by village contractors where they leave the surface so rough you'd wonder if it will be better not to asphalt the road at all.

Concrete roads does not mean doing it in the village way that Ebonyi does it with illiterate bricklayers. In Europe, South Africa, and America, they use concrete roads widely. Even for highways. Yet, their concrete roads are as smooth as ever because they take time for finishing to ensure the surface is very smooth. Not just pouring concrete and walking away whether it hardens with some bumps on top of it isn't the business of the illiterate bricklayer who has no sense of high quality finish.

Anambra 2021: Ifejiofor Congratulates Soludo
--- Reassures of the Readiness of Anambra International Airport to commence full Commercial operations
Moses Pajimo Oraegbunam | I-Witness

Anambra State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Marcel Ifejiofor has congratulated the winner of the November 6 Anambra State Governorship poll, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim even as he commended the electorate for choosing the best team for the job.

Engineer Ifejiofor gave the message, yesterday, November 11, 2021, when some I-Witness Media Office members visited him at the newly commissioned Anambra International Airport, Nteje-Umueri.

Said he, " I thank ndi Anambra for voting APGA and Soludo on November 6th. APGA is Anambra and Anambra is APGA".
" This airport was started and completed in fifteen months. The magic is simple, we engaged competent contractors, once they generate certificates and they 're confirmed, the Governor pays. His Excellency, Governor Willie Obiano gave us both financial and moral support that enabled us achieve this ambitious project. Governor Obiano visits this airport every week. That's big encouragement".
Furthermore, the Works Commissioner insisted that the airport was ready for full commercial flight operations.
" The most important thing has been done which is to secure certificate from NCAA that this airport is ready for full Commercial operations and we have it.

Again, our Governor, Chief Willie Obiano commissioned this airport on October 30th. So, you can see that airlines have started setting up their counters. Airpeace has done theirs, Ibomair is coming, United Nigeria is coming and others. So, we are ready", the Commissioner remarked.

For Soludo's emergency on roads repairs and reconstruction to be fruitful without eclipsing all state funds for other development, he must

1. Utilize CONCRETE Roads & Drainages USING DIRECT LABOUR
2. Revitalize the Anambra Roads Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to begin repairing all internal roads in the major urban centers with concrete.
3. Employ professional Engineers to lead the road ARMA in each major urban center where they are rebuilding the roads and drainages.

The concrete roads system using direct labor has been successfully used by poorer states to build cheap durable roads that have continued to last to date. Only very challenging intrastate roads should be awarded to contractors with relevant experience to do because of the engineering challenge and bridges required on such roads.

This method also improves the skillset of many youths who gain vital experience in roads construction and design which they can utilize in helping their communities build their own durable roads through communal effort and without the use of expensive roads construction companies.
From my experience, concrete roads reinforced with steel bars are most useful within urban renewal efforts. Where solid roads and drainages that can take a lot of urban traffic and flash flood are built with reinforced concrete to last many years.

For the intrastate roads, they can also be built with concrete but I don't think our engineers are at that level of efficiency and competence yet.
It often takes them way too long to build intrastate concrete roads as we have observed in Ebonyi state. But, I must concede that sections of intrastate roads that are prone to flooding or soggy soil are better made with reinforced concrete to guarantee they will last.

Most importantly, Soludo must bring the idea of PLANNED CITY DEVELOPMENT back to Anambra state. If Anambra cities were well laid out in a planned way, it would already be the most developed space in Africa. The only thing that is seriously lacking in Anambra is the concept of planned development as you see in Abuja.

If Soludo makes sure that the new Anambra airport city and other new satellite cities he will build are well planned like the Awka Millennium city, it would be a fantastic development for Anambra.
