Politics / Re: 2019: Do You Consider Nigeria A Safer Place Under Buhari? by cKaiser: 2:50pm On Mar 26, 2018
Yes. Security has 100% improved.

There used to be a time when Boko Haram was bommbing on a weekly basis, Not even in Maidugiri but in Abuja, UN office public parks everywhere was not safe.

Now we have significantly reduced their powers to the North East

We don't. We only seek equality. smiley not matriachy.
And women have always been denied opportunities. Why you think We aren't is simply because feminists fought for our rights to education, rights to vote, rights to marry whom we please, rights to be human, rights to study whatever course we choose, rights to live.

In politics, Women are being marginalized. Don't act like you don't see it. How many women are in leadership positions in the world?

Education. The girl child struggles to go to school. Let's look at the northern states for instance. Female kids are made to get married rather than actually having ambitions.

In Saudi Arabia, women aren't Even allowed to drive cars. Lol. You think this isn't inhumane?
Feminism is simply about choice. Knowing and noticing wrongs with social constructs regarding genders before even becoming educated about it.

Leave Saudi Arabia and talk about Nigeria especially Southern Nigeria. What is a woman denied of doing? Is it to go to school ot get a job or drive a car

In the last Nigerian election there were like 5 contestants, 1 of them was a woman, How many women voted for her? If all the women in Nigeria voted for her she wouls be the president

In USA, Clinton contested against a man yet the women voted Trump over her

Most of the world biggest challenges are taken head on by head even at physical risk to their health

In this Nigeria, let a man and a woman steal from the market, worst case they strip the woman naked, the man on a wrong day will get barbecued right there

As feminists shouldnt you be fighting for the right to take your boyfriends out, pay his rents, buy him a car, buy a ring, pay his dowry and get down on your knees to propose to him

I'm glad that you pointed this out. Pray tell, how exactly did Lagos become such a big contributor to Nigeria?

One the port which is given to Lagos by nature and generates a huge amount of income.

Nope. That's not just from the federal allocation. Check the pdf file that I directed the poster above to. You'll see how it's broken down.

According to the same document you refer to,

Lagos State generated 300bn in 2016 and received 2.3b in the month you gave

So you can do the Maths and see that Lagos is a net giver to Nigeria and not a taker

As of 2016, Anambra State generated 14.8 billion, this has likely increased in the past year. In the first quarter of last year, it received 1.8 billion from the federal government. Take of that what you will.

Show me evidence of the 14.8bn Anambra generated

Below is what the took from the allocation in September 2017 alone

Abia N4.04 billlion, Adamawa N4.02 billion, Cross River N2.85 billion, Ekiti N2.94 billion, Edo N4.5 billion, Kaduna State N5.4 billion, Kano State N6.8 billion, Lagos state N8.8 billion, Rivers N12.45 billion, and Zamfara, N3.05 billion. Delta got N14.2 billion, Anambra N4.3 billion, Benue N4.2 billion, Borno N4.9 billion, Ebonyi N3.76 billion, Enugu State N4.07 billion, Gombe State N3.39 billion, Nassarawa State N3.74 billion, Imo N3.96 billion and Kogi N4.24 billion.

So why are you wailing so loud. Lagosians are not complaining, Their reps just passed the law and the people are happy with it

So why is your agbero crying about overload. As long as the state you live doesnt pass such laws you dont have to worry.

How did I know that this was the argument that you were going to make? undecided The Anambra State government has not received a disproportionate amount from the federal coffers compared to what it has put in.

Are you really trying to say that the influence of non-indigenes in Anambra State is comparable to that of Lagos? Seriously?? shocked

How much is Anambra generating and how much is it putting back into the treasury. Aside the oil producing states, Lagos is the other state that can boast of not receiving more than it is giving to the coffers of the FGN

Lagos as a state generates what is commensurate with what it makes, One of the major non oil revenue of the country is the Ports and the proceeds is shared with other places in the country

Anambra State doesn't have the luxury of benefiting massively from immigration of Nigerians from other states on such a large scale. You're comparing apples to oranges here. If Anambra State was developed by people from across Nigeria, and their resources, on a large scale and still decided to do this then you'd have a point.

Lagos did not beg other people to come into it and eke a living and Lagos State is not holding anybody back from leaving, Lagos has decided on the way to go regarding the language policy. If you feel its too much for you, You can leave peacefully or attend other 100 tertiary institutions that do not have a Yoruba requirement

Anambra forced non Ibos to learn Ibo as General studies and heaven did not fall, Lags requires you to have a credit pass in yoruba before admission

Language laws requiring Igbo language as criteria before admission?

By Chukwujekwu Ilozue
Onitsha — Principals of secondary schools in Anambra State who promote pupils from Junior Secondary School III (JSS III) to Senior Secondary School I (SSS I) without the pupils passing Igbo language are to be removed from their positions and fined N5,000, for each of the pupils so promoted.

Also, any state or privately owned tertiary institution in the state which is found not to have established an Igbo language department or made Igbo language a mandatory general studies course by September, 2011 shall pay a fine of N100,000 for every month in which the offence continues

It's funny how you guys just pick examples from wherever and try to juxtapose it with what is obtained in Nigeria. Do you know that Quebec tried to break out of Canada in the 60s, so the agreement that was reached that English along with French will be used side by side in all 10 provinces Quebec will be given some level of independence. Here in Nigeria, we don't have that. We're a unitary state pretending to be practicing federalism.
What is funnier is your poor attempt to justify your illogical tribal agenda
According to the constitution of the FGN we are a federal state where every state has the right to pass laws that suit them. Zamfara passed Shariah almost 20yrs ago and its still in effect till today,

Imo and Anambra passed language laws and no one held them to it, Kogi, benue etc passed grazing laws that are unique to their states, So why cant Lagos pass laws in the democratic settings according to the wishes of the lawmakers?

Citation please?
Actually that doctrine does not exist.
We operate a system of exclusive and concurrent lists

So it is either the law conflicts with the constitution or the state government does not have the power to legislate.
We have had Federal laws binned at the Supreme court because they did not have the power to make such laws. By the way this was Litigated by Lagos State?
I always find your pseudo intellectualism amusing.

I wonder why Hausas have no problem with the law. It is always Ibos that think they have opinions.
We have seen such laws in Wales in the UK and in several states in India.
The argument about how far the law goes I. e university level is political and not legal. There is no doctrine that says how far the law can go.

I suggest you find out what transpires in the French speaking parts of Canada. There is nothing new about this. In my opinion it does not go far enough. It should be a condition for employment by LASG

Thats the funny thing about Afam, he tries to normalize his tribalism with some long worded jargon when everyone can see through his tribalism

Quebec within Canada speak French, the region next to it speak English.

It's funny how someof you bring up what happens in a states where you don't live. I live in lagos that's why i feel the need to comment on the issue. Non Igbos in those states should be the ones to stand up and demand that their interests be protected just like Igbos are demanding in Lagos. That's what democracy is all about.

You are not the only one that lives in Lagos. The House of Assembly which is a representative of the people living in Lagos passed the law and its binding on everyone including those that support or oppose the law.
The house of assemly thinks promoting Yoruba language and culture is very important to Lagos and Lagosians and they have done exactly that.
You talked about democracy, its the rule where the majority have their way, Majority of Lagosians through their elected reps have spoken

So shall it be

There's a law that supersedes every other law and that is the federal law. ll states laws must not be at variance with the federal law. The Yiruba law is tribalistic and aims at limiting the number of Yorubas who gain admission into schools in Lagos.

Imo and Anambra made this type of law several years ago, I didnt see you or anyone complain about it
Some states have laws to speak only their local language on certain days at their house of assembly

Most men wont want the drama involved with Single mothers

Some of them are still emotionally involved with their ex baby daddy

Some carry the baggage of what their baby daddy did to them into their new relationship

There is always the fear that the child/children from the previous marriage after spending a lot on them would never see you as their father and would still look for their own biological father

Moreover single girls are in excess demand, why would one need to go for an after 1?
