There is nothing to cancel. Your agent is not being truthful, she probably wants to use another victim's money to repay you.

Anyway, register for your IELTS and start your transcript application/ECA application as soon as possible. Transcripts can take a while to process and IELTS requires booking in advance. It is not wise to wait until she refunds the money as you will not need to use the money until you get ITA and you are ready to submit.
Canadianhopeful:
Fizzile, TEECAN, einsteino, ednut1,elfmannisback,mcstan18, thank you guys for your timely advise about starting me and my spouse's application afresh. We contacted the immigration lawyer and told her we would like to stop using her service and that she should refund the money paid for application...after a little stalling, she agreed to pay up as soon as she can cancel our registration from their database. She says it will take up to a month, so fingers crossed. Once we get our refund, we can start a fresh application

Ok, thanks
Benny247:
I made my request on the day of the test. I told the doctor actually. Initially he told me they don't give the result, so I told him that on the cic website they mentioned that candidates can request for test results from the testing organization. So he requested I show him where on the website I did and he commented on my file that test result should be given to me. Few days later they called me that everything about my test was okay and they have uploaded it to cic and that I come and collect a copy of it.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by Claire40: 2:15pm On Jun 24, 2018
@Benny247, thanks for responding. Please did you make your request via email or on the day you did your test? I'm asking because I called them on Friday and they told me that they are not allowed to give out the results. I am planning to send them a formal written request letter on Monday and then their response will determine my next action
Benny247:
Yes I got mine... Though you have to request for it.

Your 1st essay saved the day. Since it was perfect, you probably got either 8.5 or 8 as your score in the first essay, all you then needed was 6.0 or 6.5 in the 2nd essay, for example(6.0+ 6.0+ 8.5)/3 = 6.8 which becomes a 7 after rounding off.

Writing more gives the marker avenues to award more marks to you because you will use a wider range of grammar and words. It is only counterproductive if you cannot write error free because you will simply be giving the marker reasons to deduct your marks.
iPopAlomo:
I don't entirely agree... My 1st and only IELTS... I answered both writing question on a single sheet... yeah... I saw people demanding for extra sheet and my liver cut... because I didn't finish the second question per se... halfway through I realised I was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy off point... I erased everything and started again... couldn't go through as the next thing I heard was pens up... Alas! My writing turns out a 7... and it was rough... everytime I thought about it... I'll tell myself... The 1st essay was perfect nah the second one get comma... realistically... was expecting 6.5...

p.s:

Most times... extra sheets gets lost in transit...

Before we rush to condemn BC and IDP, maybe we should consider the possibility that our writing skills are not as good as we think they are. More often than not, if there is an increase in writing, it is just by 0.5. This means that EOR candidates scores are usually hovering around 6.5 -7.0 thus if the marker marking your script is strict, you get 6.5, if more lenient, you get 7.0. Our aim should be to improve our writing skills significantly that even a strict marker will have no choice but to award at least a 7.0.

....and yes, I agree with the poster that said we might be marked more strictly than IELTS candidates in other countries especially non English speaking countries but I believe this is because in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Abeg don't compare your situation with this one. It is not the same thing at all. You already had your ICAN AAT, his is totally different. He wants to register, pay and write the exams because of Canada immigration, there is no harm in being doubly sure

Nothing is written in stone, mine took 3 full weeks to get to WES. On the bright side, the assessment was completed in roughly 3 days after receipt of my transcript so it kind of balanced out.
tolfa:
if royalmail was used...maximum is 7days....mine got to WES within that period though it might take WES additional 3 working days to update the profile
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by Claire40: 1:12pm On May 01, 2018
I agree. I had to submit my university certificate to assess my UK degree
Tojued:
Okay.

However I would advice individuals to work with the requirements given in their WES account.

@Fyorgyn, for Nigerian PCC, go to Louis Edet House. It takes 2 working days. For UK PCC, Google acro police. You can send it to a friend's address in UK to avoid courier cost.

2. A "To whom it may concern" letter can be used

3. Proof of Funds - Search the thread for your answer

4. I think passport booklets are currently available in Abuja

CelebritiesRe: Rico Swavey: 6 Things You May Not Know About Evicted BBNaija 2018 Housemate by Claire40:
The question is who is a lawyer? A lawyer is one licensed to practice law. Knowledge of the law simplicita does not make you a lawyer however, I am not familiar with the system in India and as such cannot comment on it.

In Nigeria, it is the norm to go to law school to become a lawyer. It is possible to become exempted from going to law school but that only applies to law university teachers that have taught for a number of years or people that can prove that they have gained procedural experience and were not able to go to law school for reasons beyond their control. This exemption has to be approved by the body of benchers so even in cases of exemption, an ll.b simplicita is not sufficient as the above conditions have to be fulfilled. Please see section 2(1) of the Legal Practitioners Act that states that only those whose names are entered in the roll can practice as a solicitor and barrister.

Generally speaking, a lawyer can either be a barrister or solicitor(for example in a jurisdiction like UK, you have to pick one path) or both for example in Nigeria where the pathways are fused. Jurisdictions like UK and Canada even have more stringent requirements. After law school, you must do a pupillage, training contract or articleship (these are like internships) to become a lawyer. Every jurisdiction has their own requirements for becoming a lawyer. In the U.S, you must write and pass the bar exams and even as at that, writing the bar exams for one state does not qualify you to practice law in another state.

.....and quora(your source) is user generated content, not every opinion expressed there is fact.
kingwill2050:
No. I went to Google to make my point clear. Whether in India or anywhere, a barrister is one who has been called to BAR, while a lawyer is one who just studied law. There is nothing like a proper lawyer, either you are lawyer, or a barrister or fake

Try Maitaima branch, Gana street. Head office in Lagos has to approve the letter so it is not a one day process

Good morning people.please who can recommend a zenith bank branch in Abuja where we can get our reference letter from i.e where you got yours from.

Hi all,
I am just starting out. In creating a profile, I encountered this page, where I am required to pick one of the options.
Please, am I on track? Which of the sign-in partners offers the best advantage?
I have read through the entire 3rd edition of this thread without an answer, and this is why I chose to ask here.
I hope to get a response.
Cheers!

Can she speak french better than English? because even with an M.A in french, she has probably being speaking English far longer than she has being speaking French and has a better mastery of English Language. Is she the primary applicant and wants to write 2 language exams to boost her CRS? Whether or not TEF is written in your state is another issue you should consider to avoid extra cost that you would spend if she has to travel to write TEF. TEF is also more expensive than IELTS.
tsadoemmanuel:
Good day friends.

I have written IELTS and it was a success and my spouse wants to write TEF as she holds MASTERS OF ARTS(M.A) IN FRENCH.

Please, my question is... Should she proceed with the TEF or she should go for IELTS?[/b]

Thanks.
