One of my friend called me yesterday that he will be taking one his new babe to my house. its not so early to apply because my roomie graduated last December and her family had gotten their visa like way back in October. The embassy even support you to apply early incase of denial or any processing. So they are free to apply in Feb as long as they have the school IV and yours as well. As for your sister , she shouldn't talk about her pregnancy if she's not asked. Once she get her visa, she could email the embassy telling them about her plans of coming for your graduation and also having her baby, as long as she can foot the hospital bills, she should be fine

Dear forumites I applied for a renewal of my F-1 Student Visa through the Drop Box Visa Renewal Program at the U.S. Consulate General Lagos, Nigeria on December 2014 but on Wednesday January 7th 2015 I received an e-mail from the Correspondence Unit (TMI) US CONSULATE GENERAL LAGOS, NIGERIA stating that the they needed to see me in person inorder to proceed with my case. But the problem I am having right now is that my school resumes on Monday January 12th, 2015 for the spring semester. (1) That I have a pending immigrant petition filed on my behalf by my sibling

What I was trying to say was one option was to avoid mentioning you are married or your husband has a green card but that has repercussions as others have also said so best to be upfront and hopefully it is overlooked.

Re the time it will take for the I-130, the current date is Feb 2013 which is about 2 years so hopefully max 3 years you should be able to apply for Adjustment of Status.

Goodluck with the application and try to focus on your credibility as a student.

This is a very tricky situation because if the embassy know your husband is a resident, your visa will most likely be rejected as they will see you as a potential immigrant.

One option is to exclude the fact your husband is a resident and maybe say you are single to get your student visa. Risk is will it impact your application for residency later on?

I am leaning towards the fact that it should not have an impact especially if you are yet to do the church wedding etc, but those who think/know otherwise are free to chip in.

If you are successful with the student visa then he can submit form I1-30 for you in the states for your green card which may take up to 3 years.

Hello, your advice is a drawback and would put her visa application in jeopardy.

Honesty is the key. She should tell the truth if question about her honey's whereabouts arises. She should also try to get a Scholarship or Funding in order to increase her chances more.

In a nutshell, I strongly believe she'll get her visa easily.
