if you are looking to reduce your electric bill, then charge your batteries solely by solar, except on occasional bad weather days

Does charging consume that much current?

If I'm not using any car I usually keep the battery (65a) charged with my 10a souer charger and theres no noticeable increase in units used

Or just use a USD card that has no limits - easy if you earn US income or are happy to buy Fx at blackmarket rates to fund the card.

If you are a typical naija guyman who wishes to purchase at ~NGN415/USD using GTB and other 'sane' banks, then get yourself a GTB naira master card and visa card, then get a virtual card and utility card all on the GTB platform - that gives you access to $400 online spend per person per month.

Co-opt the official Madam, Mistress, siblings, friends and other trusted folks into the scheme and you can easily do $2000 or more per month per sane bank.

Notice I said sane bank - GTB has never charged me above NGN420/USD. Providus Bank charges me $494/USD to use their card cheesy

Lol faced this around 2016.
Would transfer everyone I know's GTB limit to my Paypal then spend from there.

Funny exact thing is happening a few years later smh.

Or contact radautoworks and explain the issue if it can be rebuilt.

Thanks!
I think I have an idea what's needed now.
Meant to change office equipment this year so would look at the Samsung (was planning gencool/genpals earlier)

Would dm you.

Valto:
good batteries ranges from 135k to 150k.(full river and amaron quanta) as for panels, u can get original YINGLI 400w mono for less than 60k

since AC is your main concern, u might consider getting the latest Samsung 1HP inverter AC that consume Maximum of 500w, instead of your current one that consume 940W. there by bringing down your solar requirement cost.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by cluewebhost(m): 5:38pm On Feb 27, 2021
Valto:
u actually need 8pcs, with atleast 16pcs of 380w - 450w tier 1 panels wink

Panels : 16 x 70k = 1.12m
Batteries: 8 x 120k = 960k
Inverter: 1 x 250k = 250k

From prices here is that right? Excluding installation.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by cluewebhost(m): 3:43pm On Feb 27, 2021
Wonderful thanks!

So

5kw inverter for proper charging (I think it's even better if I need to expand load a bit later)
9.6kwh storage - 4 12v 200ah batteries?
+ good panels.

olopan:
The brand's that are Tier 1 are many but I will list a few that are peculiar to Nigeria

Jinko
Canadian
J.A
Trina
Risen

As regards your storage, you will need minimum of around 9.6KWh to run your preferred loads

Problem is 3KW inbuilt charge controller will not fully charge your battery so inclusion of an extra charge controller is needed but with lithium batteries you will need a 5KW inverter hybrid to slap the solar panel on without an problem.

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by cluewebhost(m): 11:57am On Feb 27, 2021
Thank you!

1. Yes I usually have 12 hours per day and without the AC that consumes 2kwh in 24 hrs

2. A refrigerator (100w I think the stabilizer makes it higher though), Standing fans 2 20w then LED bulbs and laptop (45w) once a while

3. Yes night time only

What brands are tier 1 (these are the confusing issues grin )

Thanks a lot!
I was thinking 3Kw too.

olopan:
To better understand you

1. You have grid power fpr 12 hours daily guaranteed?

2. If you can kindly state those negligible loads you mention so as to know what's best to recommend

3. By Asleep you mean the night time right? Or just random hours in a day-24 hours

A 3KW hybrid will do the job for you and to better rock the boat well ..... With regard to solar harvest .... A Tier 1 panel will be a recommendation but incase budget is tight ... Tier 2 fit pass too

Yes o,

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by cluewebhost(m): 1:12pm On Feb 26, 2021
I was ready before I asked.

Oshomo12:

Yes,
Those rest loads are not negligible.

To power that 900+ watt on batteries for 6hr "off grid"....
Firstly, can you keep around 3million naira somewhere for this project? Before we start to analyse.

Sorry if this is too direct.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by cluewebhost(m): 11:59am On Feb 26, 2021
I've been going through this thread and I'm confused.

What sort of setup would I need (solar) to power this AC?

I only need it on for 6 hours when I'm asleep

It shows 940W and 4A.

The rest of my load is negligible I use 2 - 2.5Kwh a day for 12 Hours of grid power - Refrigerator, Computers etc.

How many panels would be sufficient?
How many batteries + capacity?
I assume a Hybrid inverter would work but would 3Kw be okay?

Is there anything else I should know?

Sole marketer for Elm327
lotadaddy1:
Obi Jaguar, as i fondly call him, has always wanted an exotic car of his own. Each time a fine and dandy car crosses his perimeter, he is always left hypnotized. Obi's rather obsessive penchant for crème de la crème automobiles didn't just stop at admiring cars, this my guy can reel off their names as though he is chanting his nursery rhymes. I just kept wondering where Obi learnt those names from.
I was on my bed one sunday afternoon when Obi's call came in, I picked and then he said, Uche Uche, i have found a car i would like us to go and see." he shouted over the phone excitedly. Which kind wahala for this Sunday afternoon kwa. Well, I told him to send me the pictures of the car and the name.
To be honest, the picture he sent me showed a beautiful black Lexus Rx 330, I no go lie sha, the car fine. Then, I asked him if he had contacted the seller of the car, which he replied in affirmative. Obi even suggested that I guess the price, imagine me ooo, well i did but i was wrong! He told me the price is around 2million naira. I screamed!

After screaming and all that, I and my friend went to the place the seller had directed us. We saw the finely parked Lexus car on getting there. In my mind, i even wanted to start driving the car almost immediately, the car was fresh out of the oven!!! steaming hot!!!. Then something strucked my mind to ask the seller why he wanted to sell the fine car for 2million naira. Then, he said that the reason was that he was not based here in Nigeria and would be travelling back to the states soon that he doesn't know when next he would be coming back to Nigeria so he needed to sell the car. His reason sounded plausible.

Obi checked the engine, he nodded excitedly that everything was perfect. He was already shivering with happiness and was now in a haste to conclude the final payments. Then, i told him to wait. Nya cheregodu, we can't judge a book by it's cover. I told him to calm down while I conduct my own personal check on everything. Then i brought out this device which I am the sole marketer in Nigeria.

The auto check lasted for just 5minutes and after that i was able to discover that the car had a VTC system malfunction, the fuel injection system was too lean, engine coolant temperature sensor 2 circuit high voltage, camshaft position sensor incorrect phase detected and many more that i can't say...indeed, looks can be deceiving!!!

Obi looked at me in amazement hands akimbo while shaking his head back and forth in utter disappointment. We said goodbye to the seller and went on our merry way.

Who knows how long the man had tried fixing the car's problem but up to no avail. Then he came up with the criminal plan to dispose it to unsuspecting victims.
This is a device that helps you as a car owner. Whenever i see how men own exotic cars these days without owning this device, I marvel at how they cope because they are at mercy of their mechanic extorting so much money from them! as well as reducing the lifespan of their car due to constant and counter fixing.

With this device, you can save cost, enhance car maintenance, detect the fault yourself without visiting your mechanic, even when you visit him, you'll walk to him like a professional, telling him exactly what to fix.

For those that want to know more about this device, kindly drop your phone number below in the comment section so we can talk or simply DM me. I'm only one text away.

To even make matters interesting, I've not owned a corolla as a personal car. I don't fancy Toyota design thoughts or approach but I respect them for what they've been able to achieve. I don't have anything called brand loyalty in my dictionary.

Its not about having a Ford Edge (that's deflecting, same as making plastic tanks the point when post quoted only talked of the exhaust being on the tank) ,

This is about being emotionally vested with and always ready to defend the "perfect" Corolla

& you know it smiley.

I have a Ford edge in my garage, its same thing. No need to argue.

Car Talk / Re: My Near Death Experience by cluewebhost(m): 6:25am On Jan 22, 2021
Let's be honest,

You wont have typed all this if car in question was a Ford Edge grin

kingreign:

Plastic tank is to prevent rust and electrostatics from causing leaks or electrical sparks and also to reduce weight and cut cost. It's a well taught out plan and design. Most modern cars use plastic tanks. I know a corolla has heat shield that's integrated around the exhaust pipe just shielding the heat from reaching the tank just like most other cars. Your car breaking the exhaust, losing that heat shield and damaging your tank is no fault of Toyota but yours.

& I'm yet to see a car with a non plastic fuel tank so that wasnt even my point.
