ifexnancinonye7:What code did the scanner bring up? |
The God I know is not confused, He should confirm who he is hearing from |
If your reserve light is accurate and you buy the second it comes up then that should work too. Kaybaba5: |
You're doing about 2.6 miles per liter, roughly 10 mpg. It's very poor, I do more than double the miles on same fuel. |
Kaybaba5:No you fill the tank, drive for maybe a week and ask them to fill the tank again. Check the mileage difference and how many litres they put in. |
I usually prefer doing full tank (when the dispenser clicks once) to full tank. It's more accurate the reserve light can have a mind of its own. Check this thread https://www.nairaland.com/5924691/lets-track-compare-car-fuel |
People fabricate most tools, even better now with 3D printing There are tools which make taking out an engine a piece of cake For software people create interfaces that can do what the dealer devices do, simple reverse engineering. Long at its man-made it's hackable. There are people who are ready to spend anything and go any distance to get what they want (especially a DIY'er who can afford a Bugatti or Bentley). There is diy and there is DIY ![]() HeavenlyBang: |
But it's normal humans who'd work on them end of the day? HeavenlyBang: |
Your rewire can't advice you to buy a car out of his league and stop giving him money If you've the time and interest in DIY you can own any car. uboma: |
afesco:In some cars it happens when the engine gets really hot. But does it start when you turn on ignition? |
Car paint fades and oxidises over time so if you paint only a few panels (doesn't matter if you mix with computer or stick) there would definitely be a difference between the new and old (a decade or more) paint. & that's why I mentioned the paint code because that's a constant. Good luck in your search. mikekhan: |

Isn't the paint code written on the Chassis? |
osato45:3 - 5 years ideally if done properly. Try using a gas with stop-leak |
Lol take the car with the seller to Cars 45, They check documentation, do a scan and thorough inspection and testdrive there, You can ask the person inspecting if it's worth it. Pay up before they list on auction else someone else might buy it |
It's not too bad You can get some off if you buy the parts yourself but that's if you have the time. hejikeme: |
modsfucker:A full charge is like 300 miles on a Tesla. It charges fully when plugged in overnight. To and from work for me is about 13 miles a day, Meaning if I charge fully one night I'd use the car for maybe 20 days? An hour of charge adds 32 miles meaning I can use it for 2 days after charging for an hour. How much fuel does a big gen taken in an hour? 300 miles in my car would consume about N8,000 fuel, Which gen would consume 8,000 fuel overnight? Before we mention lagos traffic check the screenshot attached. Once enough cheap used units are available Nigerians that hate buying fuel would dump Corolla.

Probably a long road trip. America is huge you can drive for hours to go from one state to the other. That said if I buy an EV I'd definitely put small gen in my trunk, 90k sumec . |
rationalmind:Lol this is a new one. The gears keep the engine at an almost constant rpm when driving so except you accelerate hard all the time I feel fuel supply would be almost constant. I'd start keeping records (hardly have the time or remember to ) and compare over time. |
mrcoolautofix:The same reason they are Toyota-phyllic, We just take what mechanics and others say without doing private investigation. I'd start posting my fuel usage here, both 6 and 4 cylinder. https://www.nairaland.com/5924691/lets-track-compare-car-fuel#95487471 |
6 cylinder Engine, No warning lights. In city driving with traffic. Filled tank, drove for a day +, Refilled and it only took 3 litres (actually less because it clicked at 2l but attendant kept pumping)

An actor can cry in 2 seconds when necessary |
mrcoolautofix:Honestly not much difference. I use a 6 cylinder I'm not bankrupt or dead yet. |
Why was he with N650,000? Transfers work o! |
Because they mostly want to buy cars but don't want to buy fuel. Even spending on maintenance na wahala |
It seems they don't make vehicles for durability anymore. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/new-land-rover-defender-breaks-down-after-only-167-miles-150591.html One day after taking delivery, The Fast Lane took the four-cylinder turbocharged SUV to the Webster Pass in Colorado for a bit of off-road fun. “The vehicle did really well” with the bone-stock tires, then the guys went to Keystone in Summit County to have dinner after they had their fun. Fed, hydrated, and ready for the drive home, The Fast Lane couldn’t believe to see the check engine light not going away after starting the car. With the help of an OBD II reader and a mobile phone, Tommy and Roman Mica found a disparity in the air-to-fuel ratio for cylinders number two and three. After taking the Defender to the dealership on Friday, everything was fine on Tuesday when Andre was supposed to bring it back. “He noticed that none of those really funky and cool cameras that we fell in love with so much were working.” At the dealership once again, the service technician found out that the camera module wasn’t functioning as intended. Even with the help of a Land Rover engineer, they just couldn’t fix the damn thing. As such, The Fast Lane is waiting for the module to be replaced. On the phone with the dealer, Roman got another piece of bad news. “When can I pick up the vehicle?” he asked, to which the service rep replied that he can’t because “the check engine light is back on." The engineer decided that it needs new injector coils, wires, and injectors https://www.autoevolution.com/news/new-land-rover-defender-breaks-down-after-only-167-miles-150591.html |
goodysb:At 1m per month in earnings you shouldn't be looking for an 11 - 15 year old car ![]() Get something more recent or even brand new you can afford it. And old car would always have wear and tear. |
Used mine for 12 years from brand new before I gave it out (reluctantly) some months back No check Engine light, spent far less on the car (fuel & maintenance) than my corolla counterparts ![]() Elsueno: |
