Fairgodwin: Reading is my biggest hobby and when I see good writers, especially of African descent, they make my heart and even the whole of me melt. Wole Soyinka I love; Chinua Achebe I love; Elechi Amadi I love; Camara Laye I love; Ngugi wa Thiongo I love and you, Ngozi Chimamanda Adichie, I dearly (be)love. Congratulations to you ma'am. Try also reading Burning Savannah(also available in Amazon) , then you'll add another writer to your list... 1 Like |

But try know their reason for rejection initially. You can mail them openly for this other option. (Do not mention names) |

NYSC › Re: Lack Of Funds May Stall Corps Members’ Mobilisation To Camp – NYSC by Cmanforall: 6:26am On May 17, 2016 |
sasquareT: Brig.-Gen. Sulyman Kazaure, Director-General, National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), on Monday told the Senate that lack of funds may stall mobilising 2016 Batch A Stream 2 prospective corps members for orientation.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that orientation for the batch is expected to commence on Friday in 37 camps across the country.
Kazaure told the Senate Committee on Sports in Abuja that the money required for the exercise was yet to be provided.
He said that the NYSC had written several letters requesting for the money but that as at Monday, it was yet to receive response from the Federal Government.
According to him, we had written to Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, Finance, Budget and the Presidency even before the end of the orientation camp for Batch A, Stream One.
“We are presently at a loss in NYSC now as there is no money for us to mobilise thousands of prospective corps members in the Batch A Stream 2 to camp this Friday.
“This is in spite of efforts made by us to get things done in that direction several weeks ago.
“The problem staring us in the face arose from the N13 billion shortfall we had in the 2016 budget estimate which the agency made strong request for its provision during budget defence,” he said.
Kazaure, however, expressed the hope that the presidency may make last minute intervention by providing “the urgently-needed fund for the programme’’.
He told the committee that the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari had invited the Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalong, to see him over the matter.
In his remark, Chairman of the Senate committee, Sen. Obinna Ogba (PDP Ebonyi Central), assured the NYSC that the senate would intervene in the matter.
He said that the senate would convene a meeting during the week for all the parties concerned, including Ministries of Finance and Budget, to find a quick solution to the problem.
“We have listened to you and we are also disturbed by the problem at hand as regards paucity of funds for mobilisation of prospective corps members.
“NYSC is not something to joke with; even if it is through urgent supplementary budget provisions, the problem must be quickly tackled by the Federal Government,” he said. (NAN)

nineteenth: Hello everyone,
I need your candid opinion on a burning issue which has been troubling me for some time now. I am really ashamed and remorseful of my actions, it was just the situation I found myself. I was once a footballer and once had an opportunity to travel to Europe for my footballing career but this did not work out as planned. I got a passport for this purpose where I did not use my real age, as advised by my coach and agent. I later dropped football and went back to school. Now I am done with my first degree and I intend going abroad for my masters degree. The old passport with my false age expired and I proceeded to the NIS office where I met an Immigration officer who assisted me and got me another passport after I did the Biometrics. I actually paid him 100k for this. I really don't know if it was renewal or re-issue he did but this new passport has my real age and name which tally with my academic documents. The new passport has the old and new passport numbers written on it its data page. Now my question is, with the old number available on the passport, will the embassy verify and compare the information on the new and old passports?
Thanks for your useful contributions. Truth be told... Any falsification noticed will dent your image in a negative way. If you were aware of this and can give the immigration officer that amount for a passport, you would have got yourself a new passport, rather than renewal or re-anything. The officer should have known better anyway. But all the same, get admission 1st and other things will follow. Good luck! |

However, if the international course coordinator says the degree can be used for MSc, it is cool. All The Best! |

Romance › Re: 8 Places Guys Will Get Positive Feedback From Single Ladies When They Woo Them by Cmanforall: 1:51am On Jan 13, 2016 |
wristbangle: I detest guys who are in the habit of chasing ladies shamelessly at rowdy places such as market and bus terminus as if they are dumb cocks without considering the fact that these ladies will never listen nor give in to their sweet words.
However there are considerable places where once you approach a lady, she will give you the necessary audience hence your love story will start immediately with her.
Such places where you can woo a single lady and will get positive feedback are;
1. Lounge
There is this notion that the kind of ladies you will meet at lounges possess quality personality. The probability to hold a meaningful conversation and receive positive feedback from a lady in such relaxed environment is very high except if she is already taken. 2. Airport
There is tendency for a guy to win a lady's heart in this place if he approaches the lady in a decent manner owing to the conducive and friendly atmosphere. That reminds me of the first time I was about to board an aeroplane, the beauty of laveda caught my attention when I was being attended to by the customer service agent. As a smart guy who cannot resist her radiance, I didn't know when I made the approach to request for her number and since then our love story has been wonderful.
3. Resort/Suite/Hotel
This captivating place provides enough swags for guys to woo a lady, even for those who are too shy to express their feelings on a normal day. I am sure that a lot of couples can testify that this is one of the best places you can meet your love partner.
4. Beach
Apart from the fact this place is a relaxation and fun fair environment, it creates an avenue to meet someone you can have dialogue with. I have lost counts of guys who told me that they met their girlfriends at eleguisi beach, badagry beach, and others.
5. Party
Ladies can bear me witness that guys who are bold enough to woo them during wedding ceremony, birthday parties, get together, etc have become their boyfriend or husband because this place curtail love celebration.
6. Eatery
The chances are high to receive a positive response when you walk up to a lady in this place. Though a guy needs to be clever in order not be seen as an ATM machine/a maga by the lady he wants to woo.
7. Cinema
The tendency for guys to receive a welcoming reply from a lady he approaches in places such as silverbird cinema, ozone, and others is high. This is where our famous and most respected nairaland guys whom are lalasticlala, tosyne2much, emusmith, rapmoney and toks2008 met their girlfriend. 8. Entertainment shows
Places such as concerts and comedy shows are good grounds for guys to catch big fish . The reason is obvious as ladies dress to kill in order to Boss compliments and love requests from guys. Where is bank? Bus? (long distance travel) |
