Ibime: So Raumdeuter is being subsidised in Texas and won't let us hear word about Texas? It’s people like Raum (most likely living in liberal parts of Texas) that are actually the reason Texas has a good(ish) economy to speak of. And of course oil. You know the way Nigeria has oil but we have terrible leaders? Exactly like that. The oil and immigrants like Raum are the only reason why Texas has a reasonable economy compared to other red states. But they keep railing against immigration. They’ll brag about Texas because they are in the diverse areas, full of immigrants from African countries. But tell them to actually move to rural areas where red values are at an all time high. Where they have Sundown towns that you dare not stray carelessly at night if you’re black. Then you’ll know they don’t actually love the conservatism they champion. As a black person living in a ruby red neighborhood, you’ll learn quickly that even your local sheriff is in on it. If you go missing one week to your wedding (full of life and hope for the future) but somehow you’re are found hanging in a tree, they’ll rule it suicide and go on about their day. That’s why all these African conservatives are still smart enough to know they won’t move to Missouri or Mississippi or Alabama despite telling us how much they love racist white people. 😮💨 |

California just surpassed Japan as the fourth largest economy in the world.
Last fiscal year California contributed 83.1 billion dollars more than we received from the federal government
Texas another big economy received 71.1 billion dollars more than they gave to the federal government. What an astonishingly embarrassing number for them .
We are a simply donor economy to you guys. Subsidizing the red state loud mouths. While they hate from outside the club.
And it’s not just California. Blue states and blue cities in general contribute 71% of the total economic growth of the United States. If you remove Texas’ oil, the red states fall drastically. Even with all the oil, they’re still taking over 70 billion dollars more than they contribute.
Yet they are on the internet making noise about voting for economic reasons. When all they have to do is look at how their states are faring under republican economic policies to know they’re being lied to.
Maybe going forward we should keep our money to ourselves and use it take care of our “homeless people” that you guys sneak into our state in the dead of the night. Have the nerve to take our money and sneak your homeless people to us to take care of for you.

IjeBos: And all it takes for Trump to welcome someone in who he's been trashing is for the person to say something he thinks is flattering to him. Putin must run circles around this guy. All Putin has to say is he's the most consequential president in history and he'll give him Ukraine. And the funny thing is that he truly is the most consequential president in recent history. He’s just not bright enough to understand that consequential doesn’t always mean a good thing. The fall of America is happening under him as we watch. That’s a historic achievement of gargantuan proportions. No president has achieved that. All his ego needs is for someone to tell him that he’s the best at something. Even if it’s the best at being the worst. He will gladly lap it up. That’s what happens when ego supersedes intelligence. |

What is the probability that he calls them liars and fake news after the book is published and it is very unflattering to him? This is the man RFK has put in charge of studying autism even though he’s not a psych practitioner of any sort. In fact he practiced medicine illegally under his father’s medical license. And his father was a disgraced physician whose license was revoked before he died in March of this year. He has a history of experimenting on autistic children without their consent. Now watch as he magically comes up with a “study” that validates what RFK wants to hear. If you grew up in Nigeria and benefited from vaccines, you know what it can be like when majority of the population don’t vaccinate. Think of polio outbreaks in the north. Even if you’re a die hard republican who wants to support everything they do just to win an argument on the internet, pls don’t play with your children’s lives. They don’t deserve to die or develop some life altering illnesses just so you can pride yourself in being a republican at all cost. You can talk nonsense on here and support whatever lies you want to but I’m begging you, when you log off, pls secretly make sure your kids are vaccinated for everything. You don’t even have to tell your fellow republicans in your echo chamber. Administrations come and go but a life or limb lost can’t be reclaimed. Medical News Today
Discredited researcher, vaccine skeptic was disciplined for practicing medicine without a license. David Geier, a man without a medical degree who once was disciplined by the Maryland State Board of Physicians for practicing medicine without a license, reportedly will lead a new HHS study to identify whether a relationship between vaccines and autism exists.
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has long promoted a link between vaccines and autism, despite volumes of data showing the two are not associated. |

Can you imagine being in this position? I know some might have life sustaining medications they need to take everyday but can’t get it. A diabetic or cardiac patient detained in this situation without access to their medications will die. What about not showing up to work for 10 days due to wrongful detention? Can’t notify your employer. Obviously you’re going to lose your job. In this economy? All of this even after asserting your legal right to be in the USA but having some overzealous ICE agents and an anti immigrant govt overlook all that?? People that are happy with this, may nothing bad or unjust ever happen to you guys. May you not be recipients of undeserved cruelty.🙏🏽 Immigration officials detained a US citizen for nearly 10 days in Arizona, according to court records and press reports.
As the NPR affiliate Arizona Public Media, first reported, 19-year-old Jose Hermosillo, a New Mexico resident visiting Arizona, was detained by border patrol agents in Nogales, a city along the Mexico border about an hour south of Tucson.
According to a border patrol criminal complaint, on 8 April, a border patrol official found Hermosillo “without the proper immigration documents” and claimed that the young American had admitted entering the US illegally from Mexico. Two days later, the federal court document notes that Hermosillo continued to claim he was a US citizen. On 17 April, a federal judge dismissed his case.
Hermosillo’s wrongful arrest and prolonged detention comes amid escalating attacks by the Trump administration on immigrants in the US. Since Donald Trump took office, the administration has emboldened immigration officers to arrest and deport undocumented people, including foreign students whose visas have been revoked, leading to a series of errors.

Not brand news But I bet any black person/s in this community who complained of experiencing racism at the hands of the officials were probably told they’re playing with race card or victimizing themselves Oklahoma’s governor, at the urging of protesters, has called for multiple county officials to resign after they were recorded talking about hanging Black people and killing a journalist.
As NBC News reported on Monday:
The governor of Oklahoma has called for the resignations of the sheriff and other top officials in a rural county after they were recorded talking about "beating, killing and burying" a father/son team of local reporters — and lamenting that they could no longer hang Black people with a “damned rope.”
Gov. Kevin Stitt called for McCurtain County Sheriff Kevin Clardy, county Commissioner Mark Jennings, sheriff's investigator Alicia Manning, and Jail Administrator Larry Hendrix to step down after the McCurtain County Gazette-News published an article over the weekend about what was captured on the recording. |

This is the anti science conversation I was trying to bring up the other day before a misguided troll tried to subvert it with the typical obsessed anti lgbt rhetoric. As if science automatically means gay people 🙄. Anyway, the science community is not your enemy. They exist so that the stuff you feed your children can be safe. When you cut staff to organizations like the FDA who make sure food producing companies follow recommended health safety guidelines based on scientific data, you risk poisoning the entire population. Until this issue is resolved, I would only feed my family anything that can be washed or cooked prior to consumption. Leave out liquid milk or boil it before giving your kids. Or stick to brands you are sure you can trust. We’re back in pre-historic times . WASHINGTON, April 21 (Reuters) - The Food and Drug Administration is suspending a quality control program for testing of fluid milk and other dairy products due to reduced capacity in its food safety and nutrition division, according to an internal email seen by Reuters. The suspension is another disruption to the nation's food safety programs after the termination and departure of 20,000 employees of the Department of Health and Human Services, which includes the FDA, as part of President Donald Trump's effort to shrink the federal workforce.
The FDA this month also suspended existing and developing programs that ensured accurate testing for bird flu in milk and cheese and pathogens like the parasite Cyclospora in other food products. Effective Monday, the agency suspended its proficiency testing program for Grade "A" raw milk and finished products, according to the email sent in the morning from the FDA's Division of Dairy Safety and addressed to "Network Laboratories." |

A jaw-dropping new analysis from Goldman Sachs reveals that Donald Trump's disastrous policies could cost the United States a staggering $90 billion in lost tourism and export revenue.
And it gets so much worse...
Tourism has been cratering as Trump shreds America's global reputation and his border agents continue to detain, terrorize, and deport innocent people. Reports of Europeans being improperly held for weeks have terrified tourists.
Last month, tourism plummeted 10% from the prior year with a 14% dip from the United Kingdom, 27% from Ireland, 28% from Germany, and 34% from Denmark.
Canadian flight reservations for the summer season have dropped by an astonishing 70% — directly impacting American businesses and vendors that rely on tourism. Some hotels are reporting an overall 25% drop in bookings from Europeans.
In addition to fears about traveling to the increasingly authoritarian United States, many foreigners are choosing to boycott and spend their money elsewhere. Trump's tariffs and hateful rhetoric have destroyed our national image.
According to Goldman Sachs, some $20 billion in retail spending from international visitors could evaporate into thin air. Coupled with the tariffs and the skyrocketing cost of goods, this all amounts to mass economic suffering for the American people.
In the worst case scenario Goldman Sachs estimates a massive 0.3% hit to the GDP, roughly $90 billion.
Trump's so-called Golden Age is turning out to be a new Dark Age. |
