BREAKING: President Trump has secured more than $5.2 trillion in total investment, much of it tied to tariffs, trade policy, and a push to re-shore key industries, according to the White House.
The current White House is not a reliable source of information. If someone lies a thousand times why would their next word be believable?

We know for a fact that the market lost trillions due to the tariffs. Those are real numbers measured in real time as it was falling.

These total investments, what are they? In what industries? With what countries? Over what period of time, Who measured the value of the investments? Who and who were present when the investment deals were signed? It can’t be anyone from DOGE as they’ve been caught pants down lying about numbers. It can’t be without the influence of reliable 3rd parties who are not just there to glaze him.

Any information from Trump needs to be triple verified. Taking his words at face value is so dangerous. You can make a business decision based on what he said only to find out he was “just joking” as his followers love to say. Like they don’t see the problem of joking with such serious issues.

Manipulated figures since they can't match even Obamas deportation numbers

How do you count illegals at the border if they are illegals. So the border force will be counting them instead of arresting them? This has always been a number where you write whatever you want based on estimates
The funny thing to me is whenever trump’s followers are looking for numbers they go to Trump. The man is a proven liar. Does he had to lie a billion times before they know to reconsider their source of information?

If he’s talking he’s lying. If you’re a gambling man and you wanted to place a bet that every time Trump opens his mouth it’s going to rain lies, you’d be a billionaire by now.

Donald Trump has made the outrageous claim that he’s struck a whopping 200 trade deals with foreign leaders during his 90-day pause on his “reciprocal tariff” policy. But when pressed, the president refused to say with which countries any of the deals have been made.

In a sweeping interview with Time magazine about his first 100 days in office, Trump was asked whether Peter Navarro’s prediction that he would make 90 trade deals in 90 days was still possible, 13 days into his tariff pause, with zero trade deals announced. The president said he’d already surpassed it.

I’ve made 200 deals,” Trump claimed.

When directly asked who the deals were with, Trump refused to answer the question and set off on a lengthy rant comparing the United States to a department store.

Please fear Ma'am. I called it sleep-walking into it because there is no coherent plan....... or should I say, it only makes sense on paper and all the unintended consequences have been largely overlooked.....but believe it or not, there is a plan.

These guys are hell-bent on bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US. The problem, is that they think that the strength of the US dollar is the only impediment to that process. So they want to devalue it, deliberately. Yes.

The guy behind these shenanigans is Stephen Miran, the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers to the Trump administration.

Miran believes in recreating the 1985 Plaza Accords where Japan, the UK, Germany and France and a few other countries came together and agreed to devalue the dollar........

This time though, all US trading partners should be forced into accepting a weak dollar, in return for security protection by heaping huge tarriffs on their exports to the US. They will also be forced to accept American-made goods.

Trump is currently denying that they are following Miran's policy but you can start to see all of the pieces.... pressuring NATO allies, non-stop chatter about trade-deficits, haphazard tarriffs on all and sundry....... you know, just like Project 2025.... piece by piece.

For brevity, I cannot go into why I think it's a stupid plan, but please pay attention to this. The devaluation of the dollar might become a reality at the minimum, by accident.

This is a very valid fear. Out of my own mental health preservation I want to believe it will never happen. But never say never right?

Who knows what Trump is going to do next? And what if whatever he does is what pushes them to start dumping our currency?

I’m taking precautions by getting rid of some stuff with hopes of divesting but who’s to say if the dollar falls that it won’t negatively affect other currencies? I’m no expert in economics but I feel anyone who’s not thought about this being a possibility is not paying attention.

The US has a population of ~340 million.
Let's be honest, about a 1/4 of the country, consisting of largely undereducated people voted for a man who told them foreign countries paid the cost of tariffs.
Your argument that you repeat ad nauseam seems to be that if enough people get fooled and don't use their brains, the decisions they make are correct.
It's the same type of argument you'd expect from an undereducated person who got fooled by a conman.

It's not surprising you don't talk about the Economic data and the generalized chaos going on right now. Because we can see the effect of his policies real time. And it's not Monday Morning quarterbacking as the people who weren't fooled, didn't vote for him, who understood who paid tariffs, called this before the election.

78million people got conned by a conman including you. And given all the recent polling, a large percentage of them are unhappy and also believe he's doing a poor job.
Being a fool who easily gets fooled isn't a flex.

The words of Jason Riddle on TikTok.

I love his honesty about his reasons for supporting Trump. While different people have their different reasons they claim, the bit about enjoying antagonizing others seems like a shared trait.

Also if you care about lawfulness and despise criminal activity like you guys like to claim you do, you wouldn’t support Trump’s pardon of J6ers. The hypocrisy is insurmountable on that one.
Hi, my name is Jason and I left MAGA. I supported Trump because I enjoyed antagonizing people. I feared responsibility. My alcoholism which became a physical addiction fueled my obsessive behavior.

This lack of rational thought prompted me to attend the “stop the steal” rally. Where a violent riot broke out and we all competed for trump’s attention with violent vengeance.

The govt held me accountable for my actions before I was ready. During my rehabilitation, I finally put the bottle down and was better able to understand the consequences of my actions.

It was these actions that contributed to the horrific attack on the capitol police and resulted in the deaths of officer Brian Sidnick, officer Jeffrey Smith and officer Howard Levengood.

It was in their memory and the memory of former Trump supporter Ashley Babbitt that I refused Trump’s pardon. Because the pardon was both egregious and dishonest. Nothing about January 6 was pardonable. Unity contradicts Trump’s lies. Thank you.

Same thing can be said for the trump supporters who don’t live in America. So do they know more than 75 million people who voted against him? See how that argument works? Few pages back you said you didn’t care where anybody lives. Maybe only when they are on your team lipsrsealed

BTW we officially know who didn’t understand what they voted for. In every interview you ask Trumpers, they all said the foreign countries are supposed to pay the tariffs. So in this instance, It’s not about a foreigner acting like they know more than a US resident, it’s about Trump supporters’ admission in their own words that they didn’t understand what they voted for.

Mind you, you can lose your home due to chronic illness. If that happens to you, Indiana Republicans think you belong in jail.

Also the same party consistently against affordable healthcare. Won’t vote for affordable healthcare. Won’t vote against corporate greed that allows Americans to be extorted for everything including healthcare costs.

If you can’t pay and end up homeless, too bad. Off you go to jail.

Leave it Trump to take an issue they had sympathy amongst Americans on and turn it into a weakness.

Trump could have done everything legally.
They could hired 10x more immigration judges to speed up the process.
They could have even went to Congress for more legislation making it easier to deport people.
And there would have been little to impede them or for people to find issue with.
But they chose the authoritarian, break the law with impunity because they are above the law path.

Seems they have fully earned the distrust of the Judiciary and so the Judiciary is now pushing back.

You know good and well their arrest warrant for that immigrant was more than likely invalid. Or their process of enforcing it was inappropriate at the very least.

I’ve never in my 30+ years of life seen an external arrest warrant carried out in a courtroom. Except when the sitting judge rules that someone is in contempt of courtroom decorum and orders the bailiff to remand them. But I’ll defer to your legal expertise.
Couldn’t they have waited until court was over to arrest the immigrant outside the courthouse?

PDPGuy:
A sitting judge being arrested is serious. There’s no doubt about that. But as with any criminal case — especially one involving immigration enforcement and judicial authority — the facts matter. And right now, I would like to see more of them.

Judge Hannah Dugan has been charged with obstructing a U.S. agency and concealing an individual to prevent arrest. The Department of Justice alleges that she helped an undocumented immigrant avoid being arrested by government agents at the courthouse. At this stage, I’m watching this case carefully because the facts are going to be critical.

If Judge Dugan intentionally helped someone evade a valid warrant — meaning a warrant that legally allowed federal agents to enter a courtroom and arrest that person — then sure, we may be crossing into criminal territory. But I don’t know if that’s what happened here. And based on what’s publicly available right now, I have real skepticism about the government’s case.

We’ve seen in other high-profile prosecutions that the government’s early allegations often don’t hold up once the facts are tested in court. Charges can sound convincing when first announced — but not every case ends the way it starts.

That said, I understand why people are linking this arrest to broader constitutional concerns.
There is growing public anxiety about attacks on the judiciary — from online threats, to political figures encouraging the disregard of Supreme Court rulings, to a more general erosion of respect for judicial independence. Viewed in that context, the arrest of a sitting judge by federal authorities — even over conduct tied to a specific case — understandably feels alarming to many people.

The government will eventually have to prove whether Judge Dugan’s actions meet the high legal standard for obstruction or concealment.
And yes — I do believe this is an example of the government showing: “If you disagree with us, if you interfere with our immigration enforcement efforts, we will come down on you with the full weight of the law.”

I believe this case deserves close scrutiny.
And before you rush to defend it, ask yourself honestly: If the political parties were reversed — if this were a Democratic administration arresting a Republican judge — would you still think it was justified? I do not know. Maybe you would.

If it doesn’t serve right wing propaganda and misinformation? It has to go.

“AND THEN, THEY CAME FOR US…” 😡 Trump has informed the UW-Madison that if it doesn’t cut its Dept. of Energy budget from its usual negotiated rate of 55.5% down to 15% — federally funded research projects

(including those aimed at diagnosing and treating cancer!) “will be terminated.”

But that’s not all…

On Friday, the PUBLIC UNIVERSITY also received notice it should stop encouraging underrepresented groups to participate in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) as well as research on diversity and misinformation.

“The cuts that have been proposed at the federal level could have devastating impacts on research as well as education. Currently, the university is appealing funding decisions with agencies and is also participating in legal challenges to prevent wrongful cuts, grant terminations and delays,” Chancellor Mnookin said in a statement.

“At a high level, it is not hard to imagine the damage the cuts and related actions will ultimately do to Wisconsin’s innovation economy. They will inevitably impact the next generation of scientists and inventors. They will also harm our national security and our ability to be competitive in developing critical new technologies on a global scale.”

Dems are going to have to find a way to better message this. I understanding they believe in people's dignity wherever they live, but it's becoming a pervasive misunderstanding that somehow Red states are the more prosperous.
It's just not so.
You’re absolutely correct. They grossly overestimate the intelligence of the American population. The ones who believed democrats are aborting babies up to one year after birth and that schools are performing plastic surgeries during lunch breaks are definitely not the kind of people who have the capacity to understand anything above 3rd grade level. They’re in their millions and they all voted.

The depth of what needs to be understood cannot be fully explored with the current mindset and education level of the average American now. The only thing that can make them vote is mind addling propaganda or extreme suffering. And the suffering might not even work if the punisher has them convinced via propaganda that the other side is responsible.

Democrats need to work on becoming propagandists.
They need a slow simple slogan to communicate this. 3 to 5 words max.

These are the people that want you to believe they care about women
The Women's Health Initiative, a project within the NIH that focused on medical research into chronic diseases in postmenopausal women, announced that their funding has been cut by the Trump administration. The project's regional research centers are expected to close in September even though the annual funding price for the entire project is only $10 million. The initiative is possibly best know for its study of the potential risks of estrogen plus progestin hormone therapy, research that is said to have prevented 126,000 cases of breast cancer and 76,000 cases of heart disease over the following decade alone
News from the WHI Study
WHI Funding Announcement
WHI Funding Announcement (April 21, 2025)
Today, Women's Health Initiative (WHI) investigators were informed that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will terminate WHI Regional Center (RC) contracts at the end of their current fiscal year (September 2025). The WHI Clinical Coordinating Center (CCC) will continue operations until January 2026, after which time its funding remains uncertain. While written notification has yet to be received, investigators have been advised to expect formal confirmation soon.
Impact on WHI Research & Operations
The full implications of these funding cuts are still being determined, but these contract terminations will significantly impact ongoing research and data collection-especially the detailed participant health event data collected by RC staff. The loss of this critical data stream would severely limit WHI's ability to generate new insights into the health of older women, one of the fastest-growing segments of our population.
If CCC funding were to cease in early 2026, it would greatly reduce access to WHI's unparalleled high-quality women's health dataset and biorepository, and thus opportunities for new discoveries and future scientific advancements.
RCs and the CCC play a vital role in scientific collaboration, supporting investigators across multiple disciplines.
RCs help organize scientific interest groups, fostering new ideas and collaborations that keep WHI innovative, productive, and efficient. The loss of these research hubs could significantly hinder the exchange of knowledg within the scientific community.
