Oh Yes. I believe that’s what they call royal icing. I’ve also tried the powdered sugar with lemon juice. Added bit by bit. It doesn’t taste sour at all. The thinness is what is appealing. Thick icing is meh

Have you ever tried powdered sugar with water? You have to add the water little by little or it will be too watery or too thick if you don’t add enough.

You can also mix the powdered sugar with milk. You might like this even more.

You can use both on muffins too.

Yes, I don’t like the icings with butter at all so I prefer one of the three options mentioned above.

Google Funfetti cake (but there are plenty of recipes with buttery icing which I wouldn’t choose) or look for the mixture for funfetti cake in a store.

I’m familiar with the store-bought funfetti mixes. But the whip-it powder is new to me. I’ll be searching for it in store. Especially for all the holiday baking coming up.

Just milk and some sort of whip it powder if you know what I mean. You can buy the mixture in most big grocery stores. I can’t make anything from scratch when my kid thinks he is the chef.

If I make it from scratch, I normally use whipped cream and add some vanilla flavor. Or powdered sugar with a little bit of water.

I substituted 1 can of chick pea juice for the eggs. But I’ve always used eggs in the past. I can now say both work great.

Did you also know you can substitute eggs with aquafaba? I experimented with the juice from chick peas and you can’t even tell. It whips up perfectly like egg whites.
