Rupture membrane doesn’t mean the baby is lacking oxygen.

The oxygen is supplied via the placenta and umbilical cord.

I’ve had two babies and you can go hours after membrane rupture and have a normal birth while they monitor and make sure nothing is wrong.

They didn’t monitor this woman. The hospital is at fault
MatrixReloaded:
First of all, remove religion from the husband belief. Being a Jw doesn't imply when a woman is facing her repercussion of early humans.
She rupture around 3am and it never dawn to a man with medical background that the baby is lacking oxygen.
At that instance the woman should have been induced (force labor). "ANYWAY"
it baffles me how some people view c/s as a taboo when in reality is the best and safest way to save both mother and unborn child.
Don't be victim of religion misconceptions

Thank you

From a medical perspective he knows what he’s talking about and I’m unhappy that people are trying to blame him
Lagusta:
Hmmmmmmmm

This is a sad story indeed

Well, as a doctor, I have these points to drop

1. As a JW, he has the full right to reject anything blood, but he can still perform surgeries on his wife and allow blood substitutes like tothema

2. The so-called Gynecologist/obstetrician made some errors. Pre-labour rupture of membranes in a multigravid without any obvious sign of contraction, with an estimated birth weight of 3.9kg is a very clear indication of CS until proven otherwise. I am not a gynae bit I have entered theatre many times so I know this.

3. Never mess with medical personnel. Some of them DO know their onions. This anaesthetist nurse knows the fulk BLS protocol of resuscitation.

4. It's so painful that this young man lost both mother and baby on the same day. R-jolad should really scrutinize the kind of medical practitioners they employ. The bereaved should take the matter to MDCN disciplinary committee for further action.

5. May God comfort the bereaved. Ọmọ this one hit home embarassed embarassed

Health › Re: Prince Ovwiomodiowho Accuses R-Jolad Hospital In Death Of Pregnant Wife, Son by cococandy(f): 11:22pm On Jun 05, 2024
Okay but you don’t know that he would have said no c-section immediately

I need you people to drop this bias that you already placed in your heart against this man because you don’t know for sure what he would have chosen if C-section was offered in the beginning

What we do know for a fact is that in an emergency, it took the doctor hours to get to them because they were in another clinic. That’s a system failure that should not be overlooked.

seborrhic:
Unfortunate series of events, but what I find troubling and suspicious in his narrative of events is this:if your wife was not contracting after rupture of the membranes, what the hospital did was what any other standard facility would do,they started with cytotec,at the lowest dose recommended, repeated when there was still no noticeable contraction, then scaled up to oxytocin.
The one issue I found with the Hospital management is that they would have exhausted the full 4 dose regimen of cytotec before starting with oxytocin.
The problem with dealing with men like this that feel they know it all from what they read is that you must play everything by the book,if not they would use one issue as being the cause of a mishap.
All these things he mentioned, paediatrician being present, physician, using infusion pump, partograph,CTG monitor, etc, even in advanced countries they are not as it's made out to be where all these personnel and instruments would be available.
I bet if he had been told from the onset that his wife needed to be sectioned,he would have blatantly refused and told them to exhaust every other means.
But here he is finding fault with every step taken.
It's sad he has lost both wife and child, but finding fault with every step is just ridiculous.
His wife came by 11am with no issues, was he expecting the consultant to be on ground monitoring an expected uneventful labour?
Let the hospital say it's own side of the story.
Mishaps happen all over the world and there is no where every case is done by the book.
It's sad and may God grant him the fortitude to bear the loss.

Juoflife1:
When the water breaks and she's not contracting, she should have been sectioned, not induced. A baby in the womb without water is already stressed
No she can be induced and monitored appropriately . C-section can then be an option if induction is not going as planned.

In this case there was no monitoring at all. How would they know when she got critical?

Recently Jehovah witness and their plenty drama was discussed here. This man literarily murdered his wife and son cos if the hospital had offered CS delivery ab initio when the labour was getting difficult he wod hav refused since u can't conduct emergency CS without blood transfusion. Sorry for ur loss Oga, I doubt if u hav a case sha cos ur telling Dr what you want and nit want due to your religious inclinations caused all of this
But you don’t know if he would have refused or not. Besides c-section can be offered without blood transfusion

I know once everyone heard Jehovah’s Witnesses, they were ready to blame him immediately ( and I get it) but his narration makes sense from a medical point of view

It should not take hours for a doctor to come in and assess in an emergency. Every minute is crucial . This hospital system killed his wife. Not his religious belief this time

Every woman is ashawo in their books
Poiniyisworld:
What do you mean by ashawo?

Traditionally speaking, any man who does not pay your bride price has no child with you even if he likes let him have 20 children without bride price he has no child.

Traditionally, that child is her father's child in Igboland....

So what has she done to deserve the label ashawo?

And people here wouldn’t be shocked if they earned more than the highest level civil servant as long as the difference isn’t egregiously significant.

What’s so difficult for you to comprehend?

LegendHero:
I don’t care about the ratio.

The reason why I compared it was simply to tell people that a political appointee could earn more than the highest level civil servant by configuration.

The premise is that irrespective of the year of experience, it is not an anomaly if a political appointee earn more than the highest paid civil servant with 29 years working of experience.

Now who is less sensible between me and you? Ya’ll just jump into argument without factoring context.

Ranging from advisers to assistants.

How many university professors or civil servants who have spent 20years or more on their jobs, earn that much for a 4year or less political role?

Are you comparing them to Nigerian professors or American professors?

I want to know who you’re comparing them before I even judge your reasoning

If you’re comparing them to Nigerian professors, I don’t know what to tell you.

If you’re comparing them to American professors, those professors make maybe slightly lower income compared to them or in extreme cases in low paying states, they are making 1/3 of those political appointees incomes.

Why can’t Nigerian political appointees make 3x the average salary of the Nigerian local man? Why does their income vary so vastly from what’s generally obtainable?

Why can’t Nigerian politicians be the same way?

Maybe it’s not the exact salary they get that’s causing the issues with citizens not getting their fair pay, but the overall cost of governance is outrageous.

And I don’t know why we keep reverting back to the dollar conversions? Why? Is Nigeria’s local currency dollars?

Since you want to go there, Many people I know make more than your friend does. But the average American income is maybe half of that. So in comparison, it’s 2-3 times the normal pay when someone is making 200k annually

So then does it justify a personal assistant in Nigeria making the same pay when the average locals are only making a 10th of it. Do you know what proportionality entails?

StOla:
You know the problem with Nigeria?

Everyone thinks the actual pay for political offices that they foolishly term as outrageous, is the reason why the citizenry are suffering.

A hypocrite friend of mine who makes close to $10k monthly, is always yapping about the salary of Nigerian politicians.

I have asked him if he would quit his job to go take up such a political role for the same pay he is, always criticising, without any proceeds from corruption.

He is yet to give me a reply, but continue to yap about aimlessly.

I repeat again, why will I criticise the political salary that is not even up to entry level pay in some top private corporations that some Nigerians work for in this same national economy?

Politics › Re: This Is The Pay Slip Of A Personal Assistant For May 2022 Salary(photo) by cococandy(f): 2:31pm On Jun 05, 2024
They are public servants. Their pay should correlate with public service as well.

And if it’s not outrageous for the economy seeing as everything is expensive now, then that means public servants need to be paid better as well.

If the same problem exists in the USA and so what?

Do you think regular Americans are not fighting everyday for better pay and benefits ?

I don’t understand this “logic”
StOla:
Be careful when you say what Nigerians in Nigeria make in Naira.

Stop confusing the obviously suffering civil service to what the private corporations pay.

Even in the US, political salary compares more with the private industry pay, and not with American civil service pay, despite that both civil service and private industry derive their pay from the same minimum wage as it is in Nigeria also.

Entry level salary at ExxonMobil for Engineers as at 2010, was about N1.5m in this same Nigeria.

That was about $10k monthly at the rate then.

I was at an NNPC interview in 2011, when a guy from Shell who applied for an experienced hire role, declared his salary as N2.5m

There was a time when mid level telecoms personnel were earning between N1.5m to N3m circa 2007.

The problem you have with Nigeria political office pay versus civil service pay, also exist in the US.

Your true comparison should be if such pay is outrageous for that economy.

The answer is hell No!
Politics › Re: This Is The Pay Slip Of A Personal Assistant For May 2022 Salary(photo) by cococandy(f):
I don’t even understand this comparison. They don’t earn in dollars. Why comparing your tax to what they earn?

They are Nigerians in Nigeria. Their pay needs to be comparable to what Nigerians in Nigeria make in naira.
LegendHero:
Lol no mind these guys. Poverty don destroy their brain so they think 850k is much for an SA at that level.

I am even surprised it is that low. So these guys are earning roughly what I pay bi-weekly for state tax alone?

I see why Nigeria is corrupt now. From this amount, some constituents will ask him for money, people will bring their problem to him, and then the guy will now have incentive to steal more.

I’m curious about his CONPSS grade/level. It’s not clear how they wrote that GL 33 or maybe na me no understand.

She needs to take responsibility for her conduct.
