I don’t mean to piss anyone off, but at this point, we may just need to forget about this recruitment if we want to move on in life. As for the NNPC tweet on GMD’s statement, that guy’s words cannot be trusted; you know people have no integrity here in Nigeria. Also, the recruitment may be concluded backdoor, and that could be well be in line with the GMD’s statement—recruitment being concluded, whether in open or in secret. Also, for a recruitment process to take this long and yet we don’t know right or left but having only to feed on fake ‘sauces’ here, it means the recruitment is a fraud of the highest order! Even if they release APL publicly after some months (please forget about APL this month my instincts tell me), how are we sure the candidates with merit will get it? A recruitment that takes this long can never ever be transparent. RIP NNPC! |
youngforever22:Since everybody wants to post APL gist whether true or fake, oya, this is my own. My source from Towers confirmed to my uncle who I have been disturbing concerning this recruitment. The APL was almost in December, but there were some I’s and Ts that needed to be dotted and crossed and so, it was suspended; however, I can confirm that all is now set. APL is most likely coming out this week ‘barring last minute change’. I will keep you guys further updated on any news I hear. Nor be only una sabi. ![]() |
muhamm3d:Seconded. Now we know why Nigerian pastors will always get customers because they promise them Heaven on Earth. Nigerians like to be brainwashed a lot. And the cycle of fake APL news continues in 2020. What a shame! For those people posting APL gists, why not just keep it to yourselves. We all know that at the end, it may not—or will likely not—pan out as you have posted. We have been seeing this since August last year—one gist after the other that turns out to be fake news. I’m fed up, I swear. Last warning to any one who will post APL gist here again! Walahi! Try me and see!

darado:Dem don come again. Why will u people not just allow APL to come in peace, and let it surprise us if possible. Na una dey scare the poor APL away. Trust me, if everyone just keeps mute on APL speculations for 1 week straight, APL will come the next week.
kenmak:Na only you go fit relate o. Whoever reports a crime at the police station is usually the number-1 suspect. |
Ok, lemme see how they will not release APL this year. Happy New Year guys.
But I thank God for Nairaland where I come to, from time to time to get solace from my fellow nairalanders still in the APL struggle. End of my story ![]()
Then, just last night, my mother woke me up by 2 a.m., called me to the sitting room, and asked me, ‘My son, okay just tell me. What did you achieve with your life this 2019?’ Then I tried to explain to her that being alive is an achievement that even money cannot buy.
Meanwhile, I had promised to do Christmas for my small small cousins, but when they heard my story, they began to pity me. They were like, ‘This one mata serious o. Kai!’
Meanwhile, Christmas day came o. Even when I tried to mix with my old pals who came around for the Christmas, they were like, ‘Please you can’t roll with us o. You have to leave!’ All because I nor get better job? I have suffered. .
Last Sunday, I went to church only for the pastor to still be prophesying that 2019 is not yet over and that my breakthrough can still manifest. After the service ended, I didn’t waste time. I went straight to him to warn him to stop raising my hope anyhow!
Even when I walked on the streets, people driving would splash dirty water on me. I was now like, ‘Who did I offend in this life?’
I was restless throughout the period. I could not sleep at night. Even when I managed to sleep, I would be hearing voices laughing at me. ‘Could this be my village people?’
Meanwhile, my mother was still piling the heat on me. One day, she even threatened me not to come back to the house if I don’t come back with APL.
The most painful thing was when I called her on phone one day, her ringtone was that song: ‘Bye bye to yeye boyfriend.’
Later, I tried to talk to my babe, telling her not to give up on me. I was like, ‘Babe, my future is bright. This is just a temporary hiccup. If only you knew my plans for us.’ But she was not even listening to me again.
Even when I went to church, pastor would be like, ‘All those that have testimony, raise your hand’, but I’d be like
Meanwhile Christmas and the end of year was coming and all my plans, no one worked. ‘What kind of life is this?’
I later summoned courage to tell my girlfriend of the development that the recruitment was paused but that the most important thing was I still loved her. She was like.
When I finally recovered, I managed to break the news to my mother that there was an issue with the recruitment. But she did not want to hear anything o.
I was like, ‘NNPC recruitment suspended? I can’t take this anymore! NNPC, abi na court, you people should kuku kill me!’
Lo and behold, the shocker came: ‘Court orders NNPC to suspend the Recruitment’ because of an on-going case. It is finished!
But they were no longer believing me again. Even one of my uncles that knew about the NNPC matter would be looking at me somehow anytime he saw me. I even heard the man went to borrow money from someone since my job would soon come. So, you can now see the pressure I was under.
Meanwhile, I was still trying to convince everybody in my family and my babe that the job will come. ‘You people need to trust me. Common mehn.’
But later on, APL refused to come. The APL date was shifting far and far away! It got to a point I couldn’t even see the date anymore.
I now went to the babe I was toasting. I was like, ‘You don’t believe me?’ This job is coming for real! E remain small.’ I even gave her tentative date for our wedding if she just said yes to me.
Then people on Nairaland started giving us hope that APL will soon come. One Napolitano guy on Nairaland even said everything was set and the list would soon be out. See as how everybody on Nairaland, including me, started jubilating.
Everyday I would be checking Nairaland on my phone to see if any news.
Even my mother started getting impatient. But I would just tell her that the job would soon come. ‘It will soon come, mama.’
But NNPC appointment letter (APL) was now looking like it was going to take some time to come o. Ah ah!
I started giving myself levels. Even some of my friends, I stopped talking to them. ‘I’m no more their mate!’
After interview I even started planning when I will resume work. I went to meet my tailor to start sewing clothes to resume work.
