By the special grace of God, weeks back, I met my Dad who is a pastor to pray on the recruitment, and in his prayer, he also prayed saying "coronavirus will not affect the NNPC recruitment". Prepare your mind for the following:
(1)The coronavirus will most likely affect resumption date. State govts across the nation are banning large gatherings and minimising physical contacts as much as possible. It is clear your orientation will be postponed.
(2) The problem is further compounded by the extremely low oil prices which have not even bottomed out yet. Nigeria is currently producing at a loss with the current prices, and we are not even able to sell our crude. No oil firm recruits during periods of low oil prices. NNPC boss has emphasized the need to cost cuts to.produce at current prices. Most companies fire or place employees on furlough. So the orientation will be moved to much later date when or if things stabilise.
(3) You are yet to receive official appointment letter. You have only received a notification of success. By law, no company is not legally bound to recruit any candidate that has not yet received an offer letter. Even with official letters, there has been several cases where govts or insitiutions withdraw offer letters even after resumption with no consequences. So the current case is even more precarious.
I therefore foresee a situation where the new GTs are put on reservation list for several months or years. A worse case scenario is that the recruitment eventually be cancelled or extremely streamlined. Forget sentiments, this is a real scenario right here.
I therefore ask all new GTs to hope and pray this crisis pass as soon as possible. The longer it stays, the less chances you will be recruited.

E.H, soon we will wait no more. Everything that has a beginning must have an end. The GTs wailed like the APL release for them had no end. Today, they have gotten theirs and moved on. We too will see positive closure and move on positively.

But we wailed with the GT as well; when they waited, we did wait as well. So what kind of motivation is this? Motivational speakers, avoid me!

Let us wait till 1 April before any argument on EH. What is delaying EH is management waiting for the GTS that will accept to accept and know the amount of money that will be available for the employment of the next people (EH).

My take on EH recruitment: I just think they want the ultimatum, for GTs to accept offer, to elapse before looking at the empty slots, and then they will factor this (financial implication) into how many EHs they will take and/or how many contract staff will be converted to fill in the empty slots. So, EH APL cannot come before the ultimate given to the new GTs to accept offer. This is just my conjectural theory. No source o.

By the way, new GTs, when is your ultimatum to accept offer?

Those people that are supporting the notion that Northerners are brilliant the same way if not better than their southern counterparts are missing something, and here is it.
1.You're probably basing your argument from the Southerners that study in the North. Well, like I said, MOST, NOT ALL, of these southerners struggled or will struggle among their southern counterparts when assessed on the same level.
2. There's no way you can compare Northerners with privilege like Sons and daughters of Elites to average southerners, the northerners will always win the contest.
3. I served in the North, in SS2 the top two students were girls. One a Benue girl who had her primary and junior secondary school in Ekiti, and the 2nd one a Kaduna girl, who had her previous education in Lagos, they both joined in SS1. Also in SS2 at that time, the top student is a Yoruba boy.
4. Yes some northerners can be more brillinant than some southerners who studied in the south, but most of these guys struggled to graduate, or attended schools which their standard are really lower, like ABC state/private polytechnic, XYZ state/private college of education affiliated to LMN university. I believe you get the drift.
5. Spoken English is not really a measure of brilliancy. For the fact that northern elites can speak good English is not enough. Even in the south, there are some categories of students that can speak "Queen's English" but to write good essay or solve simple arithmetic? Mba!
All in all, I believe it's more of exposure and willingness of individual that determine the level of brilliancy. Yet, at an average, the southerners are more exposed than the northerners and it's a major factor when it comes to brilliancy.
And No, Northerners are different from northerners. I mean Benue, Plateau, Kogi are not the same as Yobe, Gombe and Jigawa.

Those that returned extra transport allowance to King Anyam and Farouk but didn’t get APL, how do you guys feel? Let it out.

New GTs taken, do not panic about whatever you see in the appointment letters. That’s how government employment letters are. You will only see consolidated salary and other allowances in the letter which are not high figures usually, but you can never know how much they will pay you. However, what they eventually pay you is often higher than the values quoted in the letter due to some other ‘ghost’ allowances. So, just exercise patience until you are paid.

They have started again. I just knew that after today and nobody receives APL emails, some hope peddlers will still come to sell hope to people that more APLs will still come. Dude, get over it. I have no problem if you give yourself hope in your own space, but don’t come here to an open forum and raise people’s hopes. People have been so much hurt from missing the APL. Do not make it worse for them by extending their torture. Even NNPC has said the recruitment for GTs has been concluded. I know people may not accept offers and there may still be some slots to fill, but as far as this recruitment is concerned (i.e. using CBT/interview scores, FCC and other criteria), it is over. Any further APLs will definitely be secret, by connection (man-know-man).

If only you know how insignificant the proportion of the number people on this Nairaland thread is, to the number of people who applied in this recruitment. All my guys I chat with who went for this job don’t even know this thread exists; some dont even know what Nairaland is. Also, do not let the traffic on this thread confuse you o. People who didn’t even make it pass the CBT still follow this thread, and some may even have been commenting. But the real number of active people in this thread who got to the interview stage and did interviews cannot be more than 300 (both GT and EH), I assume. Meanwhile they invited close to 9000 people for interview. So, the number of APLs here will be very small compared to the APLS outside here. I think the recruitment for GT is over. Maybe they may do some internal or secret recruitment, and all emails have been sent I should think. Move on. It is finished.
