Anytime anybody picks her in their car, when driving past our street, she would stay on top of the car, based on who she now is: Mama NNPC.

A1grade: Bro the situation is only in God's hands. If I play my record for you, hmmmmm. Being from a family that is struggling, my parents managed to see me through school. After graduation in 2007 with a 2.1, all hopes were high and everyone was looking up to me because I was the first child of a family of 6.
I have gone for interviews in almost all the companies in Nigeria, Shell, Chevron, Mobil, Total, Saipem etc and nothing still happened.
Since then I had become reluctant to apply for jobs. I later got a job in a servicing company but some of us were dropped after some time, cos of the fact that the company lost some of its contracts during the periods of upheavals in the oil and gas industry.
Now I am teaching in a private school, preparing candidates for IELTS, SAT and TOEFL. Yes I make some money but it's hardly enough cos of the responsibilities I have on my shoulders. My parents are aged and my younger ones who are in school are all dependent on me. What is more? I am married with 3 kids.
So guys, learn from me. If I am still kicking and hopeful, please don't give up. It shall be alright. Although I am still pained at heart that I can't take care of my parents who deprived themselves of comfort just to send me to school. People laughed at them for not wearing good clothes. But I can't care for them the way I should. My heart still weeps bitterly. But I still remain positive anyways. Bros, you even fit marry wife and born not 1, 2, but 3 children. Men like us wey never see money do better dating, ‘talkless’ of paying for father-in-law marriage list. You can afford to have 3 kids (from my understanding, having just one kid is really capital-intensive) while your parents who suffered to raise you up are being laughed at for not wearing good clothes? The crux of the matter is we all have our stories. Yours may have been financial, and others may be healthwise, emotional, death of family/friend, betrayal from family/friend, heartbreak, or even ‘spiritual’. No one really wins a prize for having the most problem in life, or does anyone? I’ll be more impressed when I can see how you’ve touched or changed people's lives even from your painful experiences or the little you have, but from your story, your parents’ clothes haven’t been changed even when you can afford to. Now, NNPC be like, ‘Does he really deserve this job?’

She said they have completely concluded "online documentation" for each of the successful candidates Just TODAY"...... They have come again. And the funny thing is how Nigerians embrace such news because that is what they want to hear. Well, I will not fault you Mr Napolitano since you did not mention an exact date that APL will come. Because, as far as I am concerned, no APL this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year must come and go before NNPC can even think of releasing APL. It is common sense. These guys have already started celebrating their festive period. APL can wait, according to them.

hafeezsemzy: Good analysis but it doesn't justify anything about the amount. NNPC is not covering your expenses. They are paying based on their defined rate.
What about those who came from outside the country? How do you justify the 20k they received. My best guess is some received 3k since they used Abuja centers.
The fact that not everyone got the double or triple alert is enough to conclude without doubts that the pay was a mistake or reasons to do with list adjustment. I get your overall point, but ayam not understanding the bolded statement. Was there any CBT in any location abroad? Wetin concern NNPC if, for example, people came all the way from Jamaica for interview?

RayOB1: How can you be "scammed" out of money that was never urs to begin with, I wonder? If it's naivety and the ppl who refunded were scammed, they haven't lost anything cos it wasn't theirs to begin with
How can you not see that!
Are we that useless in this country? Have our parents, trainers and guardians failed so woefully that 2019 children can no longer distinguish between right and wrong?
Only smart words from TV Shows and sharp tongue from internet savagery, no character whatsoever.
These are unrepentant thieves, masking as graduate trainee candidates! This is not about right or wrong. It’s about being wise. Whether you returned money or not, both options are neither right nor wrong, and nobody should be praised for hurriedly returning money to a source that was not confirmed. Is it because of the desperation for job that people are becoming saints overnight at the expense of sound reasoning? Are we not Nigerians again—who are used to seeing 419 schemes here and there? How can you return money sent to an unverified source, and you keep defending that even if you were scammed, you did the right thing? As for the payment, there is what we call luck. The fact that you didn’t work for some money or you didn't deserve some money does not mean you shouldn't keep the money. People were lucky to receive double payments and triple payments, and this is how life generally is. No applicant deliberately scammed people of their money; the money simply came to them from NNPC who promised to send transport allowance. Whether it would be a one-time or multiple payment was not mentioned. For people like Dangote and Otedola, do you know how much luck and easy money that came their way? So you think Dangote would have returned any easy money he received in this life, saying he did not work for it and it shouldn’t be his money? I understand people are trying to form saints here, but it is getting to the level of foolishness. Even if NNPC made mistake, was there a general SMS or email to all applicants that those paid excess should follow a procedure to return any money? Before now, all of NNPC’s messages to all applicants were both SMS and email. So why do you think NNPC will just contact only a few of the people paid extra, via only SMS, and ask them to return money? People need think before they do anything. I will say it again; even if NNPC found out that they overpaid some people, don’t you think an organized establishment like NNPC could have counted their loss and moved on? As far as I am concerned, the administration of the NNPC did not issue any directive for people to return money. Opportunists(whether they are private individuals or even NNPC staff, I don’t care) used this chance to scam people. People need to apply wisdom in life. No matter how insignificant the money may be to you, you should not help fraudsters achieve their goal. Any other bullshit comments supporting returning money to scammers will have their nairaland account suspended by me. |

cocococo: Meanwhile, those who did not return extra transport allowance but still got APL be balling. Finally, when those who returned transport allowance later see free money again, and then you ask them whether they will return it. They will be like.
