Over the past three weeks, deportees from Finland to Iraq have been promptly turned around and sent back, according to police sources. Finland's efforts in repatriating rejected asylum seekers have run up against Iraq's unwillingness to play ball. Baghdad has been reversing deportees from Finland and sending them back to Helsinki over a failure to produce the required travel documents, Finnish national broadcaster Yle reported. Finnish authorities regularly attempt to return refugees, who have received enforceable negative asylum decisions, but refused to voluntarily return to their respective home countries. According to Yasmin Yusuf, an activist with the the "Right to Live" network assisting asylum seekers, the recent deportations were intercepted at the Iraqi capital's airport. "The Iraqi police refused to accept them because they said that they were not returning voluntarily and that they had no passports," Yusuf explained. Finnish police confirmed the events described by Yusuf, but declined to offer any further comment on the issue. Immigration police chief inspector Liisa Lintuluoto of the Helsinki police department has also refused to provide an explanation for the failure of the deportation flights to Iraq. "This did indeed occur. However the matter is still ongoing and we cannot provide any additional information or explanations," Lintuluoto said. READ MORE: Nordic 'Hijrah': Iraqis Fleeing Finland for More Favorable Countries — Reports Last year, Finland began to issue temporary travel documents for Iraqi citizens to ensure that deportation could be implemented in spite of a missing passport. According to Yusuf, the recent batch of deportees had the same type of temporary travel documents, which the Iraqi police for some reason refused to accept without providing further explanation. While Yusuf admitted that it was the first time she encountered such a situation during her work with asylum seekers, she refused to view the incidents as anecdotal evidence, reflecting the whim of an individual Iraqi police officer. "These three people were returned on two separate flights, in other words, this has happened twice within one week. I have also heard rumors that the same thing has happened in Denmark," Yusuf said. According to her, this change of policy toward deportation could affect the lives of many people. Finland has spent years trying to broker a bilateral return agreement with Iraq, which would allow full charter flights with deportees to Baghdad. At present, Finland conducts irregular deportation flights with a small number of returnees. Last year alone, Finland conducted 154 escorted returns. Additionally, over 1,000 Iraqis have agreed to leave Finland voluntarily. Earlier this year, National Police Commissioner Seppo Kolehmainen said that the return queue had some 1,700 names, most of whom came to Finland in 2015. Since 2015, over 20,000 Iraqis have sought asylum in Finland, as opposed to some 10,000 Iraqis residing in the Nordic country before the migrant crisis. https://sputniknews.com/europe/201806191065540858-finland-iraq-deportation/ |
Zimbabwe has become the second African country to legalize marijuana for medical and scientific purposes. Dr David Parirenyatwa, the country's health minister, said in a government notice that individuals and businesses would be able to apply for licences to cultivate cannabis for medicinal or scientific use. The five-year licences will also clear growers to possess, transport and sell fresh cannabis, cannabis oil, and dried product. Production and possession of marijuana, known as mbanje or dagga in southern Africa, was previously punishable by up to 12 years in jail. Recreational use will remain illegal. Applicants for the licenses must submit detailed plans of their proposed production site and yield, according to the government notice published in the Harare Herald on Saturday. Individuals applying for licenses must be Zimbabwe citizens or residents or have a waiver issued by the minister. Those previously convicted of drug offences will not be allowed to apply. The tiny state of Lesotho issued Africa's first license for medical marijuana production last year. A South African court last year ruled that private use of marijuana was legal, but the government appealed the ruling at the Constitutional Court. Zimbabwe has been debating legalization of medicinal cannabis production as the government seeks new revenue streams for its agricultural economy. Last year Obert Mpofu, the then investment minister, said a Canadian firm had applied to the government for a permit to produce the drug in planned special economic zones designed to lure foreign investors. Zimbabwe is already one of southern Africa's biggest tobacco producers, exporting much of its crop to China. Africa is second only to the Americas in terms of production and consumption of marijuana, according to the United Nations' 2017 World Drug Report. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/04/28/zimbabwe-legalises-marijuana-medical-scientific-use/amp/ |

KillaBeauty:This trend of seeking asylum due to some priviledges is not subject to abuse by Nigerians alone.Read this news abour Georgian Citizens Germany warns Georgia over spike in asylum applications Germany has noted a rise in asylum applications from Georgia now that its citizens can enter the EU visa-free. Authorities have warned the Georgian government it must fix the problem or risk losing its travel privileges. Crime concerns The view among some authorities that an increase in asylum applications could lead to a spike in crime is another part of the equation. "People from Georgia come here, apply for asylum and then use the time they have to wait for a reply to, firstly, receive financial assistance, and secondly, to break into apartments and houses," said former Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere when speaking with DW in March. In its report "Crime in the Context of Immigration," Germany's Federal Criminal Police Office found that during the first nine months of 2017, an above average number of Georgians were suspected of crimes, mainly related to property theft. In late February and early March, federal police conducted immigration controls at German airports specifically targeting members of organized crime groups from Georgia. https://www.google.com/amp/amp.dw.com/en/germany-warns-georgia-over-spike-in-asylum-applications/a-43348436 |

He Blackmailed Followers Jones wasn't above resorting to old-fashioned blackmail to keep his followers under his control. He forced members to sign blank power-of-attorney forms, as well as false confessions that they had molested their children or conspired to overthrow the U.S. government while members of the Peoples Temple. Once, he reportedly even had a member of the Temple put her fingerprints on a gun and threatened to frame her for murder if she left the cult. Jones's message was clear: leave the Temple, and your life is over. He Generated Paranoia After isolating his followers from the outside world by bringing them to Guyana, Jones continued to isolate Temple members by breaking them into smaller and smaller groups and convincing them to report anyone who spoke out against Jones and the Temple. This engendered a mistrust-laden climate where friends told on their friends, and children reported their parents for trying to escape Jones's grasp. Adding to the atmosphere of paranoia, Jones even convinced his followers that he had psychic abilities, and could read their thoughts at all times. He Convinced People That He Was God Jones was happy to act as his followers' surrogate father, brother, or God as long as they gave him their devotion in return. He laid this out in his sermons: "If you see me as your friend, I’ll be your friend. [If] you see me as your father, I’ll be your father. If you see me as your God, I’ll be your God." He Gained More Followers To More Easily Control His Original Recruits The perception of power can be as key as power itself. Jones seemingly understood that, and constantly brought new members into the Peoples Temple who hadn't yet questioned his control. The more members he was able to bring in, the more power he had, which made him more attractive to people outside of the cult - beginning the cycle again. He Made Powerful Friends Before moving his cult to South America, Jones became an influential figure in the city of San Francisco. In 1976, Willie Brown, speaker of the California State Assembly, compared Jones to Martin Luther King, Angela Davis, Albert Einstein, and Chairman Mao. High-ranking members of Jimmy Carter's inner circle were known to meet with him, and Mayor George Moscone appointed Jones to San Francisco's housing commission. The reason he had these friends? Jones likely got them elected. Former members of his church say he pressured his followers into voting for the candidates of his choice, and that people who didn't vote were "pushed around, roughed up, physically abused." He Made Everyone Feel Like A Star One of the simplest ways to control someone is to make them feel like they're your best friend. As Jones's adopted son Mike Cartwell said, "Jones could make everyone feel as if he or she was the guest of the day; he made each one feel special in some way. He gave you your five minutes, and in return, you gave him your life." https://m.ranker.com/list/scary-jim-jones-tactics/jacob-shelton |
He Deprived Residents Of Sleep Depriving someone of sleep is a quick and brutal way to destroy their will. According to Teri Buford O'Shea, one of the few escapees from Jonestown, sleep deprivation was one of the most effective methods of controlling Jones's followers. O’Shea said, "One time Jim said to me... 'Let’s keep them poor and tired, because if they’re poor they can’t escape and if they’re tired they can’t make plans.'" Jonestown residents were forced to work six days a week, and were made to feel guilty if they slept for more than a few hours each night. He Broke Families Apart According to former Peoples Temple member Vernon Gosney, 'Part of [Jones's] philosophy was that family relationships are sick and need to be broken down." Not only would Jones separate children from their parents, but he would break up and rearrange marriages. He instilled a forced celibacy in the cult for everyone except himself and the people he slept with, claiming that all men were homosexual, all women were lesbians, and that he was the only heterosexual in the group. By separating people in long-standing relationships, he discouraged them from exchanging information or questioning their harsh surroundings. He Starved Jonestown Residents A weakened group is easier to control. According to former Temple member Deborah Layton Blakely's affadavit, Jonestown residents weren't fed enough to keep their energy up: "There was rice for breakfast, rice water soup for lunch, and rice and beans for dinner. On Sunday, we each received an egg and a cookie. Two or three times a week we had vegetables. Some very weak and elderly members received one egg per day." Jones, Blakely notes, did not rely on the same diet as his followers. Instead, "claiming problems with his blood sugar," he ate more nourishing meals that frequently included meat. A few select members of his inner circle were allowed to eat from his private stores as well, and appeared to be in much better health than their fellow residents. He Trapped People In "The Box" According to survivors of the Peoples Temple, one way that members were reprimanded was with "The Box." During this punishment, a person was stuffed into a coffin-shaped box and held underground while they were constantly berated and reprimanded for their perceived slights against the cult. |
He Tortured Doubters With Drugs And Live Snakes Deborah Layton Blakely was a Peoples Temple member who escaped Jonestown six months before the massacre. She filed an affidavit against Jones in order to get the U.S. government to investigate the Peoples Temple. According to Layton, one of the ways that members of the cult were controlled was by being sent to the "medical unit." “Brave people who spoke out against the atrocities in Jonestown were taken to the 'medical unit' and put on coma inducing drugs," she said. "Others had a python wrapped around their neck. Children who cried about wanting to go back to the States were lowered into a dark well at night. One man was forced into 'the box' underground where he stayed for days/weeks." He Subjected Followers To Public Humiliation To break specific members of his group down, Jones would force them to undergo mass criticism in front of the rest of the congregation. Jones would make the followers strip naked in public, and encouraged other cult members to berate them at length. Former Temple member Elmer Mertle said that this technique was called "catharsis" and that each "catharsis" would end with Jones telling the person who was being punished that what had just happened was a good thing. Mertle said, "The first forms of punishment [in the Temple] were mental, where they would get up and totally disgrace and humiliate the person in front of the whole congregation... Jim would then come over and put his arms around the person and say, 'I realize that you went through a lot, but it was for the cause. Father loves you and you’re a stronger person now. I can trust you more now that you’ve gone through and accepted this discipline.'" He Staged Fake Mass Suicides Prior to the mass death that would end the Peoples Temple, Jones staged suicide rehearsals that he referred to as "white nights." During these events, members had to drink red liquid that they were told contained poison to test their loyalty. Jonestown residents were also frequently kept in the main pavilion while Jones spent all night raging against the media, outside family members, and government powers who opposed them. The true purpose of the white nights was chilling. By continually forcing people to enact a mass suicide, Jones was grooming them for the inevitable real event. By the time the actual massacre came about, Jonestown followers were subconsciously prepared to simply follow his instructions. |
Jim Jones began as a charismatic faith healer, and was an ordained minister in Disciples of Christ denomination until his death. Peoples Temple itself was a member congregation. 15 Horrific Tactics Jim Jones Used To Keep His Followers On Lockdown Jacob Shelton Jim Jones was one of the most successful cult leaders of the 20th century. The charismatic founder of The Peoples Temple of the Disciples of Christ amassed a loyal following, one dedicated enough to start a new settlement in Guyana under his leadership. Here, he promised, followers of all races would live together in harmony. Nicknamed "Jonestown," the commune became site of one of the most notorious mass deaths in history. On November 18, 1978, a total of 918 people died at the location, either by poison or by gunfire. How did Jim Jones keep his followers under his control, even as the true dark purpose of the "Jonestown Massacre" became clear? What cult tactics did he employ in order to get hundreds of people to follow his instructions? Over the course of his time as the head of the Peoples Temple, Jim Jones used multiple coercive tricks to control his parishioners, from psychological maneuvers to torture. By the time Jim Jones had moved to Guyana to establish his commune, he had already burned through his influential connections. For Jones, the only end game seemed to be death. So how did he keep his followers from simply packing up and going home? Keep reading to learn all the horrifying details of how Jim Jones kept his followers on lockdown until the moment they died. He Physically Isolated His Followers How do you legally kidnap hundreds of people and essentially give them no choice but to do whatever you tell them to? Separate them from the world. In 1977, Jones moved scores of his followers to Guyana, South America, largely to escape the media scrutiny that was now surrounding the Peoples Temple. Those who went with him were cut off from their friends and family outside of the organization. Jones became their sole source of information. He Created A False Warzone According to Guyana escapee Teri Buford O'Shea, once the Peoples Temple moved down to South America, Jones made followers believe that the military was after them. He told them that American soldiers were waiting in the woods to kill anyone who ventured too far away from the compound. O'Shea told The Atlantic, "We didn't know this at the time, but he'd set up people who would shoot into the jungle to make us feel as if we were under attack. And there were other people who were set up to run and get shot - with rubber bullets, though we didn't know it at the time. So there you were, in the middle of the jungle. Shots were being fired, and people were surrounding you with guns." |

If the provider of accommodation is a leaseholder, it is necessary to support the legitimacy of providing accommodation, primarily by submitting a valid rental agreement between the leaseholder and the property owner and in the event that the content of the rental agreement is a condition of the property owner agreeing with the accommodation of other people in the flat, it is necessary to add the written consent of the property owner with the applicant’s accommodation. An exception is accommodation for a minor or dependent adult living with the tenant in a joint household with the tenant-parent. A specimen form of this document can be downloaded at the MOI web pages. Proof of accommodation can also be submitted electronically. Funds to cover the stay in the Czech Republic (§ 13 of the ARFN) It is necessary to prove the availability of funds that are 15 times the amount of the existential minimum (currently it is set at 2200 CZK for 2012) for the first month and double the amount of the existential minimum for every month afterwards, thus, for instance, for a stay from 1 January – 30 June it would be (15x2200) + (5x2x2200) = 33 000 + 22 000 = 55 000 CZK. A foreign national that is under 18 years proves the availability of half the amount. Funds for the stay are proven by: an account statement from a bank or other financial institution (it must not necessarily concern a bank or financial institution authorized to operate its activity solely in the Czech Republic) for an account maintained in the foreign national’s name indicating that he/she is free to use the finances in the specified amount during his/her stay in the Czech Republic. The submitted document must clearly indicate that the foreign national is entitled to use the requisite funds in the Czech Republic. If it is not clear from the document that the foreign national is free to use the finances in the specified amount during his/her stay in the Czech Republic (e.g. in the case of a foreign bank account), it shall be necessary to prove this fact e.g. with a valid internationally recognized banking card relating to the account in question. a different document on financial security demonstrating that the foreign national can use the financial resources to the requisite amount or that he/she has secured funds to cover the costs associated with his/her stay in the Czech Republic, e.g. it can concern a document that the foreign national’s spouse or legal representative or the person to whom a foreign national under 18 has been entrusted (assuming the given person has a visa for a stay of over 90 days or a long-term residence permit or a certificate of temporary residence for an EU citizen or a permanent residence permit) has the requisite amount of funds for the foreign nationals’ stay (an account statement and a declaration on securing the funds to cover the costs for the foreign national’s stay), or a valid internationally recognized banking card. Upon request by the administrative body, however, the foreign national is obliged to submit a bank account statement for an account maintained in the foreign national’s name indicating that he/she is free to use the finances in the specified amount during his/her stay in the Czech Republic. A foreign national who will study in the Czech Republic can submit the proof of funds as a pledge issued by a state body or legal entity that they will secure the foreign national’s stay in the Czech Republic by providing financial means amounting to the existential minimum for 1 month of the expected stay, or a document that all of the costs associated with his/her stay will be covered by the recipient organization (school). If the amount in the pledge does not cover the amount required by law, the foreign national is obliged to submit a document proving he/she has the financial resources amounting to the difference between the existential minimum and the pledge for the period of the expected stay, at most, however, 6 times the amount of the existential minimum. The document on securing funds for the stay can be replaced by a decision or contract on awarding a grant obtained on the basis of an international agreement by which the Czech Republic is bound. Upon request of the administrative body the applicant also submits A document similar to the Register of Criminal Records issued by the state of which the foreign national is a citizen and also by states in which the foreign national has had continuous residence for over 6 months in the last 3 years. The extract from the Penal Register record may be replaced by an affidavit, if the given state does not issue such a document. The obligation to submit an extract from the Penal Register record does not relate to a foreign national under 15 years. A document proving the fulfilment of conditions set out in the measure of Ministry of Health on prevention of the spread of infectious illnesses (medical report). Prior to affixing the long-term visa for the purpose of "studies": The foreign national submits a document on travel medical insurance for the period of stay in the Czech Republic, which corresponds to the conditions set out in § 180j of the ARFN. Proof of medical travel insurance is understood to be a document in which the relevant insurance company declares / confirms: The period of insurance (insurance must cover the entire stay in the Czech Republic), The extent of the insurance (the insurance policy must cover the costs that the foreign national is obliged to cover for the period of his/her stay in the Czech Republic in the event of providing necessary and urgent health care including the costs associated with transport or, in the case of his/her death, those associated with transferring his/her physical remains to the state that issued the travel document or to another state in which he/she has a residence permit), The amount of the insurance benefit (the agreed insurance benefit limit for one insurance event must be at least EUR 60 000, that being without an insurance retention on the amount of the given costs). The insurance policy must not exclude coverage for injuries and damage caused by the applicant´s intentional acts, injuries and damage caused by fault or contributory fault on the part of the applicant, and injuries and damage caused by the consumption of alcohol, narcotic and psychotropic substances by the applicant. If it concerns insurance obtained abroad, along with the proof of travel medical insurance, the foreign national always submits an official translation of the insurance policy and its general terms and conditions into the Czech language. This proves the medical travel insurance policy has been taken out, above all its extent, the limit of coverage being EUR 60 000 and that insurance is taken out without retention and, upon request, a document on paying the insurance premium for an insurance policy for the entire period of the requested stay in the Czech Republic. Upon request by the MOI, the foreign national is obliged to submit a document on having paid the insurance premium. A document on medical travel insurance is not required from a foreign national who contributes to public health insurance (e.g. if it concerns a stay for the purpose of employment, proof of medical travel insurance is only required for the period of entry until the beginning of employment). If the costs for health care covered on the basis of an international agreement, or If the foreign national can show that health care is covered in another manner, that being on the basis of a written undertaking by a legal entity, if the foreign national’s stay in the Czech Republic is beneficial for developing spiritual values, protecting human rights or other humanitarian values, protecting the environment, cultural monuments and traditions, developing the sciences, education, physical education and sport, on the basis of a written undertaking by a state body or on the basis of an undertaking contained in an invitation verified by the Foreign police in accordance with § 15 of the ARFN). If the applicant is a minor child, submit the consent of a parent or any other statutory representative or guardian to the permanent residence of a child in the Czech Republic. Consent of a parent is not required, if the parent, statutory representative or guardian making the request for a child, will stay with a child in the territory and if foreign national proves that he / she is a unable to declare consent due to reasons beyond his/her control or if the child resides in the territory based on a long-term visa or a long-term residence permit for other purposes. An application for a long-term visa is filed in person at a Czech Embassy. An application for a long-term visa for the purpose of “studies” is processed within 60 days of it being filed. A long-term visa is granted by the Ministry of Interior at the request of a foreign national who intends to stay in the Czech Republic for more than 3 months. The visa is granted with a maximum validity of 1 year or a stay period corresponding to the documents provided. A validity of long-term visa in the territory of Czech Republic that is shorter than 1 year, will be extended repeatedly by the Ministry of an Interior, with the condition of same purpose of stay, but the maximum period is 1 year. If the foreign national residing on a long-term visa in the Czech Republic intends to temporarily reside for a period longer than 1 year and the purpose of the stay is still the same, he / she is eligible to apply for a long-term residence permit (not, however, in accordance with § 42d but in accordance with § 42/1. According to our source, the actress whose presence is still very active on the social media has been diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer. The US-based Nollywood source said the actress who first landed in New York is now in California. For privacy reasons, we will not be revealing the identity of the actress from the South East. To avoid confusion, the cervical cancer patient is not Genevieve Nnaji or Rita Dominic but she is a very light skinned cross over actress. Just last night, Nollywood lost another icon, Aisha Abimbola in Canada. Viral death has become an issue of concern among Nollywood stars. Please remember to pray for your favourite entertainer tonight. https://naijagists.com/nigerian-actress-diagnosed-cervical-cancer-undergoing-treatment-united-states/ |
dancewith:Good talk my brother,Nigeria has a myopic govt. One of the reasons Eritrea and Sudan get their asylum approved is because their govts refused to sign agreement with EU on repartriation of their nationals.once you leave Eritrea their govt will imprison them if they return ,so All EU countries have no choice but grant them 80% of their asylum request. There is no war in Eritrea.Eritreans seek asylum in The EU because of compulsory military service in their country. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thelocal.se/20150329/it-was-a-long-journey-and-some-of-my-friends-died/amp |
