Lol, I have always suspected this that's why I monitor my parent's spending. I have asked them not to tamper with the funds in the SOA I submitted. The other day my mum bought one gangster phone. The only thing I was concerned with was where she got the money from. I don't want to hear stories.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by CoCoLav(f): 10:15am On May 27, 2015
I think looking at his work history (maybe the type of job and his earning) and the SOA he submitted, probably they feel there is no way he could have gotten 4M so they suspect he borrowed the money for presentation purposes and has returned it.

I think you should tell us everything about your application. Why are they talking about a work permit?

OP send a pm to @Justicia. I'm busy at the moment but I know Justicia handles a lot of divorce cases. Since they have been married for more than 2 years there's no problem.

For lease arrangement, they want you to sign for 4 or 8 months, so you can't move out until after the agreement expires.

However the other option is to pay monthly, well they mostly will ask you to pay first and last month rent, the implication is that you must give 30 days or a month notice before you move out.

But no landlord will ask you to move out for no reason, or better to say I am yet to know of any landlord that will say that except you are not paying your rent.
Could you explain the first and last month rent better?

harkinhola:
You are welcome Ma. Am not sure about what is needed to live there, but I never heard anyone talk about needing a document to live there.
And YES Quebec has funny set of rules.
I am never a fan of unfurnished apartment, because upgrading a place will tie you down to the place. Get a furnished place that has no lease signed if possible, then stay there for a month while you visit people to see what other options are available.
This way you can change your house easily and get what suit your type of person.

I really won't advise anybody to rent a room for more than $600 in fact $550. Except you really really have to spend above that.
Thanks. If you don't sign a lease then it means your landlord could ask you to move out after a month right? Since there's no agreement. If a lease isn't signed then what sort of documentary agreement is the norm over there?

@Cronsberg the waiting period is long but we use this thread to ease off the stress and anxiety.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by CoCoLav(f): 11:51pm On May 25, 2015
@Cronsberg you are not required to submit your passport for online applications until specifically requested for.

Hope you uploaded a photocopy of your data page in your online application though?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by CoCoLav(f): 11:47pm On May 25, 2015
Harkinhola thanks for the info.

Didn't even know about the tax and PR issues. If Gatineau is in Quebec then is authorization needed to live there? Cos it seems Quebec has different set of rules. The apartment is furnished. Do you think its cheaper to get an unfurnished apartment and furnish it yourself?

I speak French BTW so its not really a problem.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by CoCoLav(f): 11:35pm On May 25, 2015
@NigerianNewbie, by the addresses in each zone you should know the area.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by CoCoLav(f): 10:55pm On May 25, 2015
@NigerianNewbie

I'm heading to Ottawa in the fall. You can check the Student Housing Billboard for students who are looking for roommates. Also check kijiji or craiglist. There's a nice apartment I saw for 650 and its really cool with all utilities covered. Its around Sandy Hill. Sandy Hill is preferred because it us close to the school and helps during winter when its really cold to move around. Also the U-Pass for Ottawa allows you access to the buses without payment (cos you have already paid seperately).

For me I might consider the Hull/Gatineau area cos its cheaper like #350 a month with hydro, cable, laundry, unlimited internet and electricity but you might have to share a bathroom and a kitchen. For something like this in Ottawa you will get it for #650-800. Also note that most parties happen in Sandy Hill and you can't use Upass for the Gatineau/Hull area. You use something called STO which is 278CDN per month as opposed to the 380CDN charged by Ottawa. Also note that you can opt out of the Upass if you stay in Hull and if you stay in Sandy Hill/Ottawa you will still pay for Upass even though you are very close to school and barely use it.

From Hull to Ottawa is 10 mins by Bus 35.

So there you have it.

Awww
Okay then.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by CoCoLav(f): 11:25am On May 25, 2015
Maybe separate threads should be created for those still seeking admission to schools and those applying for a visa. Its kind of hard searching the thread for schools and their application process and timeline.

Just a suggestion. It definitely would have made my own school application easier and I won't have made the mistakes I made.

Hope this fuel scarcity will.not affect processing time because if companies can't get fuel or the immigration officers can't get fuel to go to work, they will just be chilling.

You are intelligent.
This was the same media they used to their advantage during GEJ's tenure, broadcasting only the negative things and ignoring the achievements. Those who were responsible for broadcasting his achievements betrayed him. The masses were riled up and voted based on the daily negative media reports.

It was all a set up. Now I just watch as the drama unfolds.
