Sure you see those generic info but if your result is not good enough you will still be asked to write one. It's also an issue during visa interview even if your school asked you not to write one.

You be shocked to know that a PhD applicant was asked to write one.
Wow! thanks.

No school will state categorically that you don't require TOEFL or IELTS, they will only make that decision after going through your qualifications then you may be asked to write one or not.
Okay, thanks. Although while going through the country specific information for Strathclyde and Nottingham, it stated that Nigerian students do not require an English test while Nottingham said if you have spent the last ten years (Secondary school and Undergrad) in Nigeria and obtained a Bsc then you won't be required to write another test although you must have scored a C or above in SSCE or GCE.

Hello everyone, pls I am just starting my application and I would be following this thread from time to time because I know nothing about this applications.

@justwise and others you guys are doing a good job here. Please does anyone know schools in the UK that do not require Nigerians to write TOEFL or IELTS for masters programme.

I am currently applying to Derby, Strathclyde and Nottingham, any information will be appreciated.

Just the way i got it:
The Nigerian Law School Released the 2013/2014 August Result. It was a Tsunami! Out of #5000 candidates who registered, about #2000 passed. We are talking of about #3000 mass failures.

Do we say 3000 students payed #300,000 not counting expenses for a year, feeding, books, then prepared to FAIL?

Such MASS BURIAL has NEVER been recorded in the history of Nigerian Law School. So how do we help this students?

Evil prevails when men fail to talk. Below are the contacts of some media houses. All you have to do is just to send

#Please save the future of 5000 law school students. A call for review.

Send it as a text message. Thats all.
If we can garner enough heat in the media btw now and next week, the results WILL be reviewed
FAST.

People in authority don't appreciate the whole attention of the nation fixed upon their inadequacies.

Pls this is the least u can do.
Pass it on to all your contacts: whether law student or not.

The numbers are:

God is just wonderful. I also passed too. Devastated for those that didnt make it. Heard d pass mark onadeko used was 50 not 40 not certain tho. Nice to meet u all. Whose screening is on the 11th here?
I think its possible considering the fact that he wanted MCQ to be marked negatively. He announced it in class and told us to say thank you to Osamolu who opposed it and pleaded on our behalf.

Its extremely painful. I wonder how Onadeko sleeps at night knowing fully well that he has destroyed thousands of destinies.
I heard one guy in my campus even attempted suicide when he got news of his failure. I'm sure many more will still attempt it in the next few days.
Many people who failed didn't deserve it at all. Most who had pass definitely deserved better than that. How can a DG be so wicked? Or is this a form of population control to reduce the number of lawyers in the country?
My roommate read very well and even prayed harder yet he still failed. In times like dis, I can't help but ask why God allows such things to happen.
Something needs to be urgently done about dis result.
I wish there could be a protest or uprising of some sort. My room mate and flatmate read well but they failed. Call to bar which is usually two days has now been reduced to one day because those who passed are few. Someone who graduated with a 4.3 from UNILAG had a pass. its so unbelievable.

Thanks everyone..I owe it to God..wen my serious roomies were reading like there's no tomoro.. I was busy discovering all d cow head ,abacha and palmwine joints/fried goat meat joints in Enugu..I read well yeah..but it can't be compared to some of my friends..some were reading for 12 hours daily..lo and behold they made a pass..I made a second class lower..which am so grateful to God for because I know its not by ur efforts..its takes d Grace of God to pass d bar finals because d exams are a spiritual warfare...for those who posted above saying they are jot satisfied..I pity u!u had better start rolling on the floor..with praises to the God u believe in!The best graduating student in my uni had a pass?A guy who made first class in his uni is resiting corporate law..Am grateful to God Becos I know it was him all d way!
I like your spirit. People that read more than me had a pass too. I can only be grateful but whats the ceremony in call to bar when you don't have your friends beside you? its sad. I don't even feel like going. I wish I knew what went wrong, peoples hopes were really dashed. This result has made some of my friends become enemies.

That's why its important to have only your close friends on your BBM and not some random guys who chatted you up at a party or on the street corner because your friends know when you are busy and will forgive you when you read their chats and reply two days later.

They won't come ranting on NL about how much of a snob you are...

ayukdaboss:
The precise answer to this tricky HOTEL
matchsticks riddle is that the girl took one
matchstick either from the four matchsticks
from the letter O.

DETAILED EXPLANATION

The boy in this riddle actually used 15
matchsticks to properly write the word
HOTEL. This is how the boy did it:

He used three matchsticks to write the letter
H.

Then used four matchsticks to write the letter O.

Then two matchsticks to write the letter T.

Then four matchsticks in the letter E.

And finally used two matchsticks to write the letter L.

A total of fifteen matchsticks used to properly write the word HOTEL.

PROPER SOLUTION:
The girl in this riddle took one matchstick
from the four matchsticks forming the letter
O. It means, the girl either took the right
side, the left side, the upper or the bottom
matchstick then rearranged the three
remaining matchsticks into letter A changing
the word HOTEL into HATEL.

From this statement "the boy allowed the girl
to take only 1 matchstick" can be properly
accomplished by taking one matchsticks from the letter O. You don`t necessarily need to take the three remaining matches to form.the letter A because you can simply slide or drag them to properly form the letter A.

Then the girl put the other matchstick into
the letter L forming a letter U which further
change the word HATEL into HATEU or HATE
U which is the precise answer of the girl to
the boy in this riddle, the girl hates the boy.
shocked shocked

E should not now be the answer...

RODFLMAO!!!

I had this same conversation last night only I was ohis and the bobo was funke.

I understand the babes concerns though, LDR changes people. Maybe she has other people on her case now and she wants to be sure where she stands so she doesn't lose out at the end because guys can be funny. My friend was dating this guy for 5 years, they had even planned how they will get married only for him to travel abroad for his masters and after like 2 months he told her he wants to serve God. That was how 5 years got wasted.

I rem this.. So funny.. You'd see kids hoarding rubber bands like it's their whole life possession, not forgetting spending your break money to purchase as many bands as possible.. Heck! You either made money or lose money with that game.

You must have been mean @2..that shii hurts as hell.
Then cards and whots were trending then : games like go fishing, jackpot etc..
Ride over, just hope your opponents do not have a physically strong person in their group otherwise, your wrist would tell.

Change your style, ten-ten,.. There's one funny derivative of ten - ten
The song goes like this "bam, bam, bam bam bam,.. Show little comma, less than see, I belong to my mother, I belong to my father.. Again again, again again, bend down sunny Ade, Ebenezer obey... Loool

After round one was one of the meanest game then, my mum used to tell me not to play with my elder brothers and cousins because, they'd have no mercy.. But trust, I was adamant, no one told me never to go near them again after the back of my palm became red from slaps
.
The 90s and early 2000 was indeed fun.
These games made kids very active, calculative and smart... Then our creativity was top notch.
I tell you! Jackpot was the best. Choosing partners, picking signs, some of us had permanent partners because we didn't want our signs revealed.

We also had one called school. if after a check up the total value of the cards in your hand are less than 5, you would have double promotion, if between 6-20, you will be promoted normally and if more than 20 you will repeat.

You can't give your senior pick 2, suspension or pick 5. This led to what we called 'pamming' of cards where the owner of cards hides his cards after a check up so as not to repeat.

After a check up, you usually hear stuffs like No pamming abeg!

My favourite number in after round one was 5. I never pick a number more than 5 but it usually depends on the number of people playing.

Growing up was fun jare

You did not add the rubber band game

you throw rubber bands on the floor to interlock with another rubber. Once it interlocks you are entitled to all the rubber bands on the floor.

Then the one where you put a folded piece of paper on rubber band and shoot. Used to do it in SS1 when I was a back bencher. My target was those boys who just had a fresh haircut and barbed skin cheesy

We still play Pepsi Pepsi cola in my house when we are bored but its called another name.
