We are playing more like as united should play without the bite and precision to finish, just comfortable. Nani and Kagawa seem not fully fit, am sure they know they can perform better than what they are doing now. But am ready to cut them some slack with their display. They seem atleast mobile as a team. |
The recent fracas in the HOR showed a (dis)honourable female member pushing and shoving her hands on another (dis)honourable male member. What did/do you guys think she deserved, considering they were both already exhibiting dishonourable tendencies. Personally I felt the woman acted really uncouth and if that guy released one dirty slap on her she would have played the "real men don't hit women card" completely forgeting that her behaviour was very unlady like. Guys, did she deserve something to hav made her calm down, albeit a subtle tender but very effective slap to calm her down? |
StarBoard: Fellaini?Fellaini still looks outta place in our midfield. He makes carrick look like usain Bolt when running. Or is the wig slowing him down? |
[ quote author=StarBoard] Glad you agree with some of my points and maybe I may be over-reacting, but it's based on what I see. What I cannot stomach is that peeps making excuses for his failings. This is supposedly the biggest club in the world, arguably, so it wasn't going to be a tea party in the summer sunshine. Fixtures or not, he is not doing a good job so far. Simple.
Truely speaking, for me am ready to cut Moyes some slack atleast for this season. His target for me this season would be: 1. Win the capital one cup 2. Reach the semi final of the FA cup. If he gets to d final and win, no wahala) 3. Quarter finals of the CL 4. Qualify for the CL in the premiership not below 3rd position. If he achieves this or wins a quadruple then we expect better tinz next season |
StarBoard: My point exactly.Guy, you also need to calm down. I believe we should be able to assess Moyes better after about 10 games, that wuold give us a clearer picture, not using it as an excuse, but truely the fixtures were tough even though as United we have no business getting a point out of a possible 9. I also know that after 10 games he would have played both tough and supposedly weaker teams which will also mean that if he does not get a fairly good result by then, then we already know we lost the title, for sure. I am saying this because your post I highlighted gives the impression that Fergie never lost to any weak teams or Fergie never annoyed us with some moronic selections or substitutions before, but since it was fergie we knew he was gonna somehow make up for it. My question is does Moyes not have like a think tank on how to manage this team since he is new here? I believe he should atleast draw some peeps close to him when he wants to take certain decisions and consult. I feel he thinks he can do this alone and he will get his hands and our hearts burnt if he tries to go it alone. Am not expecting much from this season, but what am really upset about is that because of a new Moyes and the not so bright start, every team will believe they can get something from United and throw the sink at us from the beginning of the game. The fear factor has been demystified. |
elampiro: Even in 2007/2008 season we struggled to get off the block with SAF in charge. Let's relax and pray for a winning streak over several fixtures.Well we all know this, but Fergie was in charge and we all know what he was capable of doing to the team to get them into a run of wins. Fastforward to 2013 we have David Moyes, how he and the players react to the loss is what will be unfolded in our very before in the next few weeks. The loss for me is not as painfull as the disjointed and inconsistent play we are exhibiting. But as you/we are drawing comparisons with a previous season, let's wait and see. |
coogar: rooney should be chased far away from the team. wednesday's game should haveIt seems Rooney can do nothing right in your eyes no matter what as long as he puts on a united shirt. If that is your position about him I have no problem, but to go ahead to praise that disappointment called Young and even produce stats to buttress your positive points about young makes your critcisms of Rooney reek of bad belle and hatred. You need to calm down, the fact you don't like the guy anymore does not mean everything he does will be unproductive. Your line up is also fair, but I would give lindergard a chance to play. |
chrisley024: There's wednesday to assess him again.Well well I think we should let this slide. If I were Moyes I would play this team on wednesday ! "LIndergard Rafael ------Evans ---Jones ------Fabio Cleverly-----Anderson Nani -------------Rooney -------------Kagawa HernandeZ Subs: Butner, januzaj, Zaha, fellaini, Giggs, Vidic and Welbeck We have to beat Liverpool even if its in the capital one or Carling cup, it will help in boosting morale. What u guys think? Forget about what happened yesterday, let look forward. What will Moyes learn from the defeat, how would we expect him to react. Not hairdryer treatment, am talking about team selection and pushing the team to be what we know we can do. |
I hope Moyes learns from this and takes some drastic decisions. Its obvious we are not as strong as we think we are. |
4 - 0 idey laff! |
Am not seeing the match, but from the comments this is more than akpako ooo. Its a complete disgrace. Shud we do damage control or try to save the match. The fact that united can resort to thinking about damage control is disgrace in itself. Play fellaini upfront with kompany let them start swinging the ball to him. He could score or head down for Rooney to take a shot. Remove welbeck and bring in cleverly in the middle to take fellaini's place. Nani and kagawa shud come in for young and smalling, while valencia goes to right back. Maybe game go change small, right now we have no choice. Damn!!! |
Mr_TA: Well I hope you have some stones handy, coz Giggs will start.I will need some of em stones abeg! Am a good aim. Looking forward to fellaini vs yay Toure in the middle! |
The happy one soon to become the frustrated, confused and clueless one which will eventually lead to the sacked one. Who would have thought the great almighty jose. At the helm of his beloved shesshi would be losing to a nere basel at stanford shit. Interesting times!!! |
coogar: can united fans list the pecking order of our wingers in terms of their ability?1. Nani - no doubt our best winger, especially on the right. He can change a game in favour of United, but needs to stay fit and stop smoking whatever it is he smokes sometimes. Really don't know what to say about the rest! 2. Valencia and Young, both can be annoying. I rooted for Young coming to united, to say am disappointed is an understatement, as for Valencia, let's cut of his left leg, maybe he would perform better without them. I chose both as 2nd cause of their supposed experience over the rest except Giggs. 3. Giggs he can still cross the ball, but he shud respect himself and resign abeg. His overall contribution undermines the overall effectiveness of the team. 4. Welbeck - is he a winger? 5. Janujaz - the jury is out! 6 Bebe - who is that? In conclusion, seems we fuuccked with our wing play, no wonder stats show that they have been very poor at crossing. |
♛AndrERush♛:Guy look well ooo, these guys have been argueing since God said 'let there be light' |
elampiro: You are contradicting yourself.@ Elampiro Your arguements can tire persin sef! What exactly do you mean by 'Hargreaves was our strongest midfielder' you say it as if Fergie deployed only him in the middle in a 5-1-4 formation because he was the 'strongest midfielder' Hargreave was versatile and so he could be deployed in many positions which gave fergie different option without losing the strength so required in the team. |
AW is a schemer, for someone who has refused to spend well over the years and even baptised with the name Baba ijebu in this site suddenly decides to spend big just when there would talks about his future at the club. AW would definitely soon be the highest paid football manager in the world. Smart guy. |
^^ if Cesc had come to United, it would have been trouble for Kagawa in the no 10 role. Moyes will always play Cesc before Kagawa. Even now without Cesc and Rooney he is not getting play time with Moyes saying he has not really seen him play. It might still be difficult for Kagawa to get first team shirt with even the arrival of Fellaini when everyone is fit. I just hope Moyes uses him frequently, cos he(kagawa) I know will come good. |
All in all it will be 11 vs 11 on the pitch. Fair deal. |
Even the fellaini deal, we never hear anything!! SMH 9mins to go, this is ridiculous. ![]() |
BREAKING NEWS Paul scholes coming outta retirement for the 2nd time. He is having his Medicals at the moment. |
superstar1: Any update from anyone?Eyimba and wiki tourist have thrown in bids for Ryan Giggs! ![]() |
StarBoard: Or get rid of him permanently. I'm not sure another loan is worth it,given all the effort invested in the chump. Are you insinuating he be shot!!! ![]() |
@ Elampiro Opening an email account is ano brainer! Someone just opened a gmail account last week and has been using it. There were no difficulties whatsoever opening the account. So what are you saying? |
coogar: young of today was better than everyone in the midfield that started the game.
Let's agree from your stats that Young was the best Man u midfielder on the day. Then we are so fucccked up we don't realise it. That perfomance by young and the team was abysmal to say the least. Yes we don't always play well at anfield but we seem to have lost something about the UNITED team that gives us an air of confidence going into other games. Maybe am too hasty to judge this team, but the next 3 games will surely give us an idea how this season is gonna pan out. Don't know what fellaini and Baines are coming to do. |
My problem was the attitude of the plays. Everyone from cleverly, Rio, Vidic, cleverly were just too lackadaisical for my liking. Even if we need re enforcement, the likes of Baines and fellaini are not the people that would give this team any significant boost. Am just not impressed with the way we played, not even the loss cause we can lose and one would still be impressed and see that this was just a bleep, but this performance was a disgrace. |
dayokanu: What do you expect from a coach of EvertonWhere are the drums abeg, I wan play. Band get ready!! |
This is a disgrace, United playing like midtable team. Completely clueless. |
We can't even pass the ball decently. Everyone especially Moyes and that overgrown dolt called Giggs are just disappointing. |
Where is starboard? As for tkb, where @ thou? |
coogar: what is song's primary objective? to stop attacks or to cede position and assist goals? which is which? football is a game of tactics and intelligence. there has to be a balance otherwise managers should just field 10 strikers and one goalkeeper. coogar: Agreed Songs primary objective is to stop an attack but does not mean he can initiate or join the attack, even if he bombs forward as a team sports he should be covered by his team mates. The likes of Zabaleta, raphael, Baines and Evra also join the attack sometimes and I also believe their primary objectives are to defend too. Its football a player can't be too static. The same reason CB go up for set pieces.I assumed that if a player effectively carries out his primary function in a team it would impact positively in the team. Van persie did that for both teams as you rightly alluded, why did one win d league and d other managed to secure 4th place. I believe Song and carrick will be able to complement each other. Welbeck also did not achieve his primary objective as a UNITED striker last season even though he got quite a number of games, yet we won. coogar: this is what SAF said when carrick scored a league goal in 2011/12.Fergie could say whatever he wanted and get away with it. |
