I'm still on the fence though. The problem on this team should be equally shared between the coach, footballers and the fk glazers What about Ed? |

afrodoc2: Lol. Na so people talk say Lukaku failed at Chelsea because of 5 minute cameos.
I have my doubts about Gomes because of his small size but to say he has had enough opportunity this season is laughable.
Fred that spent 15 months gifting the opponents the ball in front of our box keeps getting picked. Ole matter done tire me. I am actually confused with what and how we play. I can't even see a pattern. Its the Greenwood and Garner own that even pains me, I believe if those guys are eased into the team the right way they would turn out to be very successful. I hate that 90th min sub he does, and to think we are losing most times he does it. |

afrodoc2: All those cameos playing left wing and right wing and 10 minutes here and there playing AM no be am. I don't know if he is ready but the only way to find out is to give him a proper chance. And it doesn't have to be Gomes. It could be someone else, just not an expensive and expired product like Eriksen.
About a month ago i said Williams might start to bench Young or Shaw by the end of the season some people here were up in arms. Without getting these opportunities we would not know how ready he is. Ole will bring in a young player in the 90th min to play different positions and we will say he has given the player chance. |

maasoap: You didn't contribute anything, just rants. That's all
Those who have functional brains are testifying that activities of terrorists and herdsmen clashes with farmers have gone down drastically. When was the last time you read about such incidences? Use your brain kid, be positive for once in your life So when they open them by January we should expect resumption of rice smuggling and clashes would resume. No? What reforms has the customs gone through within this closed period to indicate that they are more equipped or trained to manage what they couldn't manage before. If you didn't have a worn out rettardded brain you would have understood that the problem is with policing and managing our borders and smuggling routes by the customs and not outright closure of the borders. No import/export. Its hard to be positive when you are doing the right thing the wrong way. |
Politics › Re: Border Closure Bites Hard On Rice, Textile Shops In Benin Republic by codedguy1(m): 7:12pm On Nov 08, 2019 |
maasoap: The major reason for border closure was to address the influx of terrorists that were trooping in to join Boko Haram and ISWAP. So, border closure is different from ban on the export and import of some selected items into the country just boost our domestic production and consumption of locally made items Like I said if you have nothing to say kindly shut up. Did they also close all the porous entrances. As if terrorist only enter from our official borders. |

Owutuotuo: I agree with your expressions of hope. If the closure is sustained for some years or perpetually, it’ll be to our advantage in the long run. It’s painful now though. But we hope it’ll be well sustained. But the govt has said they would open it by the end of January 2020. Is the closure long enough to impact positively? My take is that closing the border in this manner won't really help us especially in the long run as some of you guys believe. Nigerians are innovative people all that is needed is the customs to do their jobs diligently by blocking smuggling routes and putting in place policies that facilitate clearing of goods at the border timely so as to make the revenue they are expected yo make. Then give us electricity that aids production, roads that ease business especially in accessing raw materials and distribution in the case of finished goods, general good infrastructure and watch how Nigerians excel. You see it all falls back to the effectiveness of the govt in power. All this sudden closure of borde for just 3months won't help us ON THE LONG RUN. |

sulaak: But, being self-sufficient rice production reduces the impact on our FX reserves. A country that can feed itself can develop itself.
The next focus should be banning fuel imports and getting the refineries to work after 5 years of Buhari holding the ministry of petroleum porfolio there should be no excuse why Nigeria refineries are still working at 10 % capacity. Perfecting the process of production and distribution should be attained to reduce the impact of a sudden border closure. Just waking up and closing the border is insensitive and not well thought out. Banning fuel imports is the right thing to do but it only becomes the right thing if the refineries are at least working. Imagine if tomorrow we wake up and fuel importation is banned and dangote refinery we are all supposedly banking on is incomplete. |

etrouble: Lazy youths will not readin the newspapers and see on television that Coacharis Group, Dangote Group, Stallion Group and several other multicompanies have started planting and processing rice in Nigeria Parochial narrow minded youths will also not know that Nigeria really has no comparative advantage in production of rice. We will still need yo import about 50% of rice even when we produce, or do you think rice can be planted all over Nigeria because it is big. There are other products we have comparative advantage of and we are not talking about them or even trying yo take advantage of the advantage we have. Cassava, cashew, millet, Cocoa, sesame seed, Sorghum, even yam etc are products we can use to earn huge foreign exchange but because we CONSUME rice that we don't really produce then we can close border for it. Closed border, even those that want to export/import other products are caught up and its only rice we talking about. |

When there is lack of electricity, good roads and basic infrastructure that should accelerate production and distribution. Be deceiving yourself that in 2 years economy will experience dramatic positive turn around with this senseless border closure. |

I hope when the border is eventually opened it would not be business as usual. Rice that is now 28k will not come down or probably come down to 16k which was what it was before the closure and all we would have achieved was to just punish ourselves.
As the borders have been closed what has been the measures taken to help sustain ourselves as a nation?
Useless govt, always doing the right things the wrong way and then complicating the already dire situation for ordinary citizens because of lack of clear cut assessment of the situation by incompetent people who lack capacity to think through a situation or scenario thoroughly.
Hope the only thing we will gain in all this is not the self bloated ego that when we closed our borders neighbouring countries were adversely affected. |

This is the time for every member of the presidency to work together and deliver all the electoral promises made to Nigerians before the 2019 election. This is not the time for a silly and worthless power tussle that will only end up distracting the administration. The PRESIDENT is already in charge na and I don't mean bubu.
