TheSuperNerd: Someone has kindly helped to put you out of your ignorant misery by telling you Linus shot only on the instructions of Ugbade.
I said same thing too after that SA game because Linus didn't shoot in the first two games so the sudden "shoot on sight" was definitely an instruction from the coach.
Obviously you don't pay attention. Keep wallowing in your ignorance. I don't have your time this night. He is playing football because he intends to play football in Europe and Europe doesn't play midfielders that shoot long shots.. And if the coach ever instructed him to take shots from the middle of the field then he should have told the coach no.. that when his watching UCL and UEL he doesn't see players taking shots from the middle of the field often and those are teams with coaches with a better CV than him because if Ugbade himself watches UCL matches then he will never ever give such instructions unless Ugbade is completely incompetent. |

arsenal96: I don't understand why people are so pain about the outcome, as Nigerian we are all disappointed, but the team is not bad as most people portrayed them to be. Under 17 competition is for talent discovery, not necessarily win. Now, we have discovered some raw amazing players in this tournament. Next step is to move the talents here to under 20, and probably Ogor,Mbata, Ozor and Okeke(the guys dropped because of MRI) will be added to the squad. Our under 20 might be lovely to watch if these talented squad are properly managed. I'm not overly disappointed because I saw raw talents that when polish will definitely flourish. Gone are those days that we paraded grandpa's as under 17 and few years later after winning the under 17 world cup, they are no where to be found. None of the players from little messi set, Stanley Okoro made it to the lime light. So, we should take this under 17 as it should be, developmental and talents discovery program.
Ugbade should not be totally discarded, he is good for talent hunting, he can still help at this level. Ugbade should be completely discarded, him and the u23 coach shouldn't be anywhere near the coaching staff. Ugbade had talented players but he chose to bench them... If Ugbade or any of the Nigerian coaches had a 16 years old Messi in their team they will bench him and defend it by saying he is too small his time will come, his stature is not good for African football.. |

TheSuperNerd: Mtcheewww... You don't know how to properly profile a midfield player. It is obvious.
You only see the shots but you play blind to his intelligent passing and recovery plays.
Abeg shift. TheSuperNerd: As for your ignorant line here, the emboldened above addresses it keenly. Some of you will just pick up your phones and make off-tangent and absolutely irrelevant comments. You're the ignorant one.. How many goals did Mikel score in his club career Mikel never ever blasts the ball or take long range shots from midfield or even from the front of the box where the semi-circle is even with fans screaming SHOOT he will never shoot.. Mikel is the most successful midfielder Nigeria has produced in terms of European trophies. If Linus was playing intelligent passing he would have instructed his teammates to use the wings by always passing it to the wings. |

Towbaba500: Do you get , that's to show how wasteful we were. Even if we get a penalty in the closing mins of the match, there's high probability we won't score. The goalkeeper actually stood out for me. Aside his blunder that led to the first goal, He actually initiated a lot of counter attacks from the back which his teammates couldn't maximize . A lot went wrong with this team sha . I'm pained.😥 Light eke ,agada really disappointed, even Micheal was just a shadow of himself The defenders made the blunder not the goalkeeper.. Light eke is very terrible especially since he tries to over play and hold on to the ball for long and tries to dribble a lot which was why he couldn't balance anytime he got the ball. Agada has poor finishing and wasn't moving wings.. The problem with the team in summary is that they all want to be the one that scores the goal and that's a sign of terrible coaching. |

TheSuperNerd: Wasn't good enough yet the lad made the team. No no no. Ugbade was just scared to play Olowoporoku and Cletus because they were among the youngest in the team.
A midfield of Linus/Cletus/Olowoporoku or at worst a trio of Linus/Owoyemi/Olowoporoku should have been our starting midfield from the first game of the tournament but Ugbade decided to play politics. Nonsense. Remove Linus... That guy will never make it as a footballer if he continues to shoot long shots and the worse part is that he is a midfielder and the good Nigerian midfielders are not given enough chances in Europe not to talk of a player who likes blasting the ball and plays with the mentality of "I am the hero of the team".. Nwakali is a good midfielder but he is playing division 2 football and Linus that hasn't done anything is very wasteful so he won't even be considered... If you know him then you better warn him about his long shots. |

TheGoodJoe: This has been the problem in the whole tournament. You have players in acres of spaces on the wings and they will prefer to go forward with passes to players in tight positions. And the player in tight position won't pass it to the guy in wing or back to guy who passed it to him.. he will try to score.. Don't the coaches watch teams like real Madrid, Barcelona, man city, arsenal.. they always use the wings then pass or cross into the box... But I will prefer they pass because their crossing is bad. |

While I'll agree that we as Africans had some form of civilization like the Benin culture where they had paved roads with Street lights (lamp),basic tools for day to day activities etc, but there weren't in the same level as the Europeans. Africans science and technology created the sun, moon and the entire universe and galaxy that made earth blossom and that's greater than anything eu:ropeans will ever create.. Philosopher1979: Its nice to talk like that but the present day African exhibits traits of backwardness and ignorance. In fact, i know a lawyer who told me that science is the black man's witchcraft. The real life experience and mental reality of Nigerians sound backward. I mean common things of life are incomprehensible to us. In fact, we think introverts are not normal The average Nigerian does not know the difference between an introvert or an extrovert A lot of nollywood films are full of people visiting a babalawo and end with a pastor shouting deliverance. We lack intellectual sophistication. The stuff we got from Egypt or Timbuktu is lost. We cant connect with it AS PER OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE You see, it is the white man that teaches us our language Yes, it is the white man that makes us to understand our culture because the white man tells us our history and culture We are just ideological non-identities Abeg the present day African is just there there's no such thing as a Nigerian or Nigeria.. Each of the ethnic nations within the place called Nigeria has their own unique language, culture, science, education e.t.c.. say you or yourself.. don't speak for other Nigerians ( over 100 million people ). you exhibits traits of backwardness and ignorance. you lack intellectual sophistication. because if you had any intellect at all you won't be saying the rubbish that you're saying. the whyte teaches you not other Nigerians your language. the whyte makes you not other Nigerians understand your culture. the whyte makes you not other Nigerians to understand your culture .. you are just ideological non-identity. you suffer from serious inferiority complex which is growing into a mental problem... you come on a Nigerian forum pretending to be African because no sane African will say the nonsense you're saying... go back to your whyte supremacists forum and stop pretending to be African online that's beginning of going crazy and needing a psychiatrist .. |

Philosopher1979: You see, we Africans are not civilized. We have lost civilization in its essence. For example, most Nigerians believe that inventing things is for Europeans and not Africans. A girl once told me this "We don't invent things, we live that for the Europeans and Americans" when i told her that i wrote a book about a black inventor. Also, Africans don't even think in terms of psychology, philosophy etc. Our forefathers were animists who worships idols and not philosophers and scientists. Culturally, the forefathers of White people are people like Rene Descartes, Isaac Newton, Plato etc while our forefathers are witches and wizards that left us with ignorance, illeteracy and wickedness. We Africans dont even understand what education is and only read to pass exams. Also, we do not understand how to discover the talent of our children or apply psychology to child rearing or education. Our minds are still primitive. Even Nigerians with money still have a backward mindset.
To buttress my points and the multi-dimensionality of African backwardness with Nigeria as a case point
1. A lot of Nigerian ladies still bleach their skins which is inferiority complex, confusion and madness 2. In church the prayer goes like this, "God all the witches, wizards and idols in my fathers house, deliver me from them" Which buttresses the point that our forefathers were superstitious folks who left us with emptiness and illeteracy 3. We cannot conceptualize the world in the modicum of modern intellectual thought. We are very mechanical, confused and copy everything the white man does.
FURTHER THOUGHTS
Africans seem not to have a scientific, rational and philosophical world view In fact, a researcher said '"The African thought system has been adjudged irrational because according to Bruhl, it is insensitive to the rules of formal logic as formulated by Aristotle" If you ask the average African congent reasons about anything he will not be able to give a rational answer. For example, if you ask a Nigerian why in his or her tribe some families (such as Osu in Igbo) are treated badly, he or she cannot give a rational explanation from history. We dont have a rational mindset. AFRICANS GREW UP WITH CULTURE AND RELIGION EUROPEANS OPERATE WITH SCIENCE AND PHILOSOPHY SCIENCE AND PHILOSOPHY PROMOTE a rationality b questioning assumptions c innovations while religion and culture promote doing thins without thinking and lack of innovation cause you do anything without changing them
I WILL SAY MORE LATER. Africans invented Science, Engineering, Education e.t.c before the eu:ropeans stole it and decided to claim it. some of the inventions were created by enslaved black Americans but attributed to whyte people.. If eu:ropeans are so good in science why couldn't they invent cars and all the things we see today 1000 years ago the progress of eu:ropeans started after they invaded black people lands, education , science e.t.c.. our forefathers and foremothers left us Languages, culture, traditions and science e.t.c.. they were never superstitious. you have just exhibited extreme hatred for black people. stop saying rubbish... |

Omanambala: Why is it that whenever a black athlete sees a little success they mostly go for white women but their white counterparts will never even flirt with a black girl. I hear Osimhen is dating a German girl but before he was this big black girls were his type.
What is really up with the black man? Symbolism, lack of self-love, lack of tribalism in the athlete e.t.c It's what a detribalised African will do and what someone who isn't pro-African ( pro black ) will do. Everyone is free to date anyone they want.. I believe black people should at worse date or marry another black person even if that person is not the same tribe or country as them. COOL10: We scored just 3 goals from 12 shots on target meanwhile South Africa scored two goals from three shots on target. The defense is terrible. They get jittery and nervous when players are running at them instead of them to press and close-in on the opposition strikers they give the strikers space. Love the intelligence to draw that foul too deep in our own half whole under pressure to relieve the pressure on our defence.
This lad is golden at this level. No caps.
#MDU17AfconDiaries Linus shoots from long range to often which is bad for someone who wants to play football professionally.. He should stick to short passes and stop long balls unless he is making defensive clearance. |

Imagine benching Charles Agada since the tournament started and giving him cameos only to see him become the live wire of an attack that Abdullahi Abubakar was supposed to carry.
Another lad I know that will make instant impact is the Number 10 lad, IFEOLUWA OLOWOPOROKU of Triple 44 FA. That guy is the youngest in this team and among the smallest but he is quite a whirlwind of a player. An Attacking Midfield pearl. Ugbade is yet to give him his chance. Time will tell.
