Tinneh: Omo African football still has a long way to go in development, I watched the last 30 mins of the ngr Ghana game and both team played nonsense...even a cadet team in Europe wouldn't play the way, to string 5 passes na problem..
I doubt an African country would ever win world cup till World ends.. because most Nigerian coaches believe the ball must be kicked over the defense and a pacy striker runs after the ball and scores... It boils down to laziness of Nigeria football coaching methods and lack of proper ball playing players.. U20 falconets passed the ball and were able to string passes.. |

olisaEze: In the year 2020 alone, Malaysia earned 36.87 billion Malaysian ringgit from palm produce. Which converted to Naira is about N3 trillion! Is that not enough to put a dent in our national debts?? The palm tree is so under appreciated in this country, especially when u realize that that plant was introduced to Malaysia by the British with only Nigerian palm trees! Most people don’t even know that their vegetable oil used in cooking is made from palm oil, same as chocolates. Nice one from Okowa, I hope whoever comes next does not abandon this project. Continuity is always a big issue in dis our nation. chocolates are made from cocoa.. |

lovewins: Consistently finishing top 4 of the Spanish league isn't bad by any standard. But for Ajibade, almost is not enough.
With Asisat's dominance on the African scene gradually weaning, Ajibade is the next big thing. Playing for a "just good enough" club that will also deprive her of playing in Europe may just be the clog in the wheel.
Hoping they do significantly well this season, or that she moves to a better club. Only injury or losing her speed can reduce Asisat's dominance in Africa.. Asisat is 27 years old so her dominance is not and never gradually weaning.. Asisat and many other players can have dominance in Africa together. |

TheSuperNerd: The Real truth. Little wonder no Elite club is looking at him just yet.
Even Moises Caicedo of Brighton could make the jump to an Elite side before Ndidi if care isn't taken. Lad is rising fast.
The Truth stares you in the face. .
In Samson Tijani, Raphael Onyedika and other CDM talents breaking through from our youth sides or through academies home or abroad, I expect to see Ndidi Upgrades. CDMs who can actually use the ball.
The Truth. you've forgotten Leicester City won Premier League some years ago and recently won FA Cup and community shield... Leicester City is an Elite club that has to compete with Liverpool, Man. City, Man. United, Chelsea, Tottenham , Arsenal for top 4 or top 6 and even now Newcastle United is also becoming an Elite club... according to the NFF , Nigerian coaches and some people on this thread.... those guys are too young to get call-up invitation... because if the NFF had sense they would have told Eguavoen to invite them for AFCON... |

TheSuperNerd: Elite defensively. Yes. I am the first person to let anyone know that Ndidi is a defensive actions Monster.
But he's unfortunately underpar in the Ball-playing aspects of the same role and this is a huge feature of the Best and the finest well-rounded CDMs on the planet today. Kimmich, Rodri, Casemiro, Busquets, Fabinho, just to mention a few.
So defensively Elite but Ballplaying-ly Poor.
Just the truth. TheBadNerd's truth... not the real truth. |

TheSuperNerd: Rodri is not Ndidi. Ndidi is not Rodri.
Rodri combines a fine mix of Ball-winning and Ball-playing traits. This is why he is the Undisputed finest CDM now in the EPL.
Ndidi is just a Destroyer DM. Finish.
So, DM pass DM.
True Story. Someone shared an image of rankings of DMs and Ndidi was #2 despite the fact that he was out due injuries which means that without those injuries Ndidi will be #1.. So according to stats Ndidi is in the top two best DMs in the world and without injuries Ndidi is the best DM in the world right now. You guys saw the stats and got intimidated and started making up useless and senseless titles for DMs such as destroyer , ball playing DM and other nonsense titles If you guys are truly Nigerians then stop undermining Nigerian footballers. Unless majority of people on this thread have slave mentality. |

TheSuperNerd: What he meant to say is Ballplaying DM.
We have DM varieties. We have Destroyer DMs/Ball winning DMs and we have Ball-playing DMs. We have those who have a mix of both qualities.
Ndidi is a Destroyer DM and TheGoodJoe is saying his underpar abilities on the ball remains a bane which is true. Something I have overanalysed here before.
Ndidi of today is a far cry from peak Ndidi of 20/21. That season saw an improved version of Ndidi showing even encouraging signs in his normally average/underpar ball playing and passing verticality but since then, it has been downhill.
So my man, DM is not DM. DM pass DM. DM is DM.. end of story.. |

TheGoodJoe: No Bro. You are very wrong. It is the same with defenders. Not all players are naturally built for the passing game. It is just like Vincent Kompany. He is a pass master. Fernandinho, pulls passing stats like creative midfielder. That is why Manchester United is going for Casemiro. He has good dictation play.
It is just like saying Goal keepers are the same. Guardiola let Joe Hart go because he is not good with his feet.
I believe Busquets has a faster passing instinct than Iniesta, Xavi and Messi. His brain just ticks fast. It is not the same as putting Ngolo Kante in defence.
Today, possessive coaches like Defensive midfielders that can contribute as Pivots in passing and build up play. It is now critical. Kompany had younger De Bruyne, nasri, David Silva, fernandinho , Yaya Toure in midfield... All he had to do was pass to either Toure or Fernandinho or any of the defenders that drop deep... the bolded is another trait of a teenager or someone with inferiority complex.. learn to say "you are very right" even if you don't mean it... |

Meliforme: Considering the quality in the players we have, Ndidi will always be needed in midfield.
Ndidi will keep it simple. He is decent at making short passes, which is the most fundamental. This doesn't prevent us from building from deep. this is something TheGoodJoe doesn't seem to understand... Ndidi's should be making short passes to the other midfielders and full backs either Iwobi or Nwakwali or any midfielder playing those roles.. the major point is that there should always be 2 other midfielders on the pitch apart from the DM so that makes it at least 3 midfielders in the starting eleven.. its Eguavoen that has ruined TheGoodJoe's psych because Eguavoen will play only 1 midfielder or at best 2 midfielders then 4 or 5 attackers... so there was no one dropping deep to the midfield for Ndidi to pass to so Ndidi had to make passes that the oppositions will end up intercepting and winning... |

TheGoodJoe: You do not need to call his decisions foolish to make your point.
By the way, he is talking of having ball passing midfielders. In your list, there are forwards. you must be under 17 years old... I didn't call mostob decisions foolish.. you like putting words in peoples mouths to make your own point... and if mostob also holds the opinion that players must be playing in the Top 5 leagues before they can get call ups then his decision is foolish... mostob is talking about Iwobi, Nwakwali and Ndidi in the S.E starting eleven which means they have to be invited then the coach has to start them... Aribo was a hindrance to Nwakwali's chances at the AFCON an d Eguavoen lack of belief in midfielders and lack of playing possession football caused it. Eguavoen believes having 4 - 6 strikers playing in Top 5 leagues in the starting eleven will win him matches... |

TheGoodJoe: Ndidi has the work rate but he needs to develop his passing. A deep playing pivot is becoming key if you must play possession football.
You need a deep player that can combine with the defenders to play out of the back. I am seeing potential in Samson Tijani for that role. Ndidi might have to fall to defence but his passing might still prove a liability. there are different types of passing but summarized into short passes and long passes.. you didn't specify which one Ndidi is average at... If his passing his average then let the coaches tell players to play short passes because Eguavoen's tactics didn't help Ndidi's cause due to fact that all the attacking players were always far away from the defensive players including Ndidi... |

But till then, Sultan, Onyedika and the likes should be invited for next friendlies. how can you wish for something that should be tested in friendly matches... if not for such foolish mentality, players like Simy Nwachukwu, Samuel Adegbenro, Yiro sor, Awoniyi, Amoo, will be getting more caps in the S.E. Deltamani: Just In: NFF Set To Make Decision On Randy Waldrum And His Crew After WAFCON Disaster The Executive Committee of the Nigerian Football Federation has directed its Technical and Development Sub-Committe to make an evaluation of the technical abilities of Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum and his ability, along with his crew to lead the team to a good performance at the World Cup
Following a detailed presentation by the Head of Delegation of Nigeria team to the 12th Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Ms. Aisha Falode, the Executive Committee directed its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to hold a meeting and make recommendations on the way forward for the Senior Women National Team, Super Falcons, including but not limited to a thorough evaluation of the capability of the coaching crew to lead the team to a creditable performance at the FIFA World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand next year.
The Executive Committee praised the U20 Women National Team, Falconets for its excellent performance at the ongoing FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, at which the team has won all three matches of the group phase and qualified for the quarter-finals as group leader.
It noted that the achievement, as well as the triumphs of the U20 and U17 Boys in regional tournaments in Niger Republic and Ghana, and the qualification of the U17 Girls for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup India 2022, is a marker of the dedication, vision and investment of the present NFF administration in youth development.
The Falcons finished fourth at the last WAFCON tournament in Morocco and lost three matches Deltamani: Massive Benefits my foot, After all the Benefits where’s the trophy to show for?
On record Randy is the Worstest Coach to handle the Superfalcons… If NFF are serious and dedicated enough they should be able to get the Ladies good number of Friendly games..
We need good results not just playing up and down.
Can you now compare the style of Play of the Superfalcons and Falconet??
I’m not saying Coach Danjuma is a good coach though but at least he has improved with what I’m seeing. Danielnino00: Friendly with France and Canada.. Participated in the five nations tournament and the Cyprus women cup...
Dennerby at least used those friendlies well and won us the AWCON...
What has Randy achieved with all the high profile friendlies? .. If he could lead us to our worst AWCON outing in history, what gives the assurance that he would do great at the world cup? Tell us, just exactly what has improved about the team performance since Randy took over... lovewins: I'm quoting this to reiterate in simpler terms what I wrote (not like it isn't simple enough to understand). I've had to separate into paragraphs for the purpose of clarity. How AkinDS read his bias into it still beats me. Here we go.
Paragraph 1: After the news of the possibility of Randy being sacked became public, I began by expressing my desire of getting a new coach that our FB players will find comfortable working with. You'll notice the conversation was centered around Nigerian coaches. The incident with Ucheria Uche comes to mind. Also notice that "Foreign born" was primarily for descriptive purposes.
Paragraph 2: I went ahead to credit Randy as a major reason why these girls chose to play for us in the first place. So how we manage them Vis a Vis a coaching crew change becomes crucial
Paragraph 3: I finally suggested Akide and Omagbemi as successors of Randy chief of the reason being that they've both worked in the US before and transition wouldn't be too difficult.
NB: My position on Randy continuing as coach isn't hidden. I wanted him sacked after the WAFCON, but I've also made peace with the fact that he might remain the coach for the Super Falcons.
Cc: AkinDS Sacking Waldrum will be their biggest mistake... Let him coach in the World Cup he qualified them for.. Even if a new coach takes over... key players like Ayinde and Ajibade will miss the 2 games in the world cup and everyone noticed how weak the Super Falcons were without them so their replacements needs to be scouted.... Oshoala hasn't had it good with injuries and the NFF always trying to rush her back instead of scouting for her replacements... Anyone who advocates for Waldrums sack is extremely short-sighted... Super Falcons won't do well at the world cup unless there are quality replacements/substitutes for Oshoala, Ayinde and Ajibade... I believe Oshoala already has a quality substitute in Onumonu but another striker is needed because Onumonu gets tired quickly... Ayinde , Ajibade and the entire Super Falcons and NFF needs to coach them on how to tackle players and just track player because red cards will hurt any team in any competition... |

daveP: Defensive errors got them a good portion of their goals, aside the pks they got. They are good at Cks. Their game against USA shows how bad the usa defence was. Their no 7 will struggle alot vs Imuran imo. She's their star girl.
Midfield battle? Non existent- We will come out tops. Setpieces? I give it to them. We should be wary of in box tackles. That's if they give them a chance, which i doubt. Got some good headers too.
As for attack- i doubt they can handle our forwards, sincerely. The Ghana goal is proof of that. Even if Flourish starts from bench, they still won't be able to successfully soak in the threat. We really need to take our chances as we are going to see alot of those.
Coach Danjuma better allow Abiodun start that game. This is her kind of game.
We will be their first real test of their own strengths. I won't be surprised if they go the korean way. daveP: Abi is it about height ni. All our forwards are not that tall or good aerially. Except they are hiding it, which i doubt. That Idoko foul that led to pk showed signs of a good header.
Seeing they improved on the crosses, i expect they'll fo same for the finishing. some of the strikers and plalyers are 17 years old which is very bad for an U20 competitions.. We need 19 years old to play even if the 17 years old are trying.. that Okwuchukwu is 17 years old and she missed many chances, she doesn't have the confidence that Flourish Sabastine has unless she was just unlucky... Gift Monday is 20 years old... why she isn't in this competition is an abomination... |
