Honestly, starting her ahead of Monday gift shows that the coach is incompetent
You guys are forgetting the coach is from the U.S and therefore has preference for the U.S based or born players.

Onumonu herself should have fallen to the ground and signalled to be substituted since it was obvious she was tired.

If you're the coach and your daughter is playing will you sub her off even when she's tired

I said this before, very wrong move. I bet we could’ve scored with the Combo of Kanu and Monday with Onumonu taken of. But yet we move. But how do we progress if we have Moroccan in charge of VAR?. From the moment tbe first red was given, I knew it’s going to get worse

Why are people comfortable assasinating the character of a man without facts? Even if Tinubu is no saint, lieing aganist him makes you worse.

Osun State internally generated revenue (IGR) witnessed the highest growth of 131% in 2019 after Oyetola took over in 2018. The IGR in first half of 2018 was N4.7 billion while in first half of 2019 it was N10.2 billion. That is clearly contrary to Adeleke's claims that money was being taken to Lagos!!!

Osun State in 2018 generated IGR of N13.8 billion; N17.7 billion in 2019 and N19.6 billion in 2020 despite COVID-19 that affected the economy of the nation. There is clear increment year on year. Please talk with facts and not baseless sentiments.

What did I tell you?

Osun residents made a big miscalculation voting for this illiterate.

I mean you've not even got into office or sworn in to know what's really happening, you're already saying trash about what you don't know about. Why would Lagos be taking money from Osun? I know he was making a guess but he was foolish.

If there's anything, blame Osun government. Lagos has nothing to do with it.
hush15:
For someone who has been scheming the president for awhile now, who says it is not possible. Afterall, since he became an aspirant, this very man has deployed billions and billions upon naira to assert his candidature. Yes, they said he has not been on any government position in awhile but what private business has he also engaged in that will warrant him spending so aggressively? I pray Lagos deliver itself from this thief and greedy being.
plantist:
Ode how much does Osun State generate to think their limited revenue would be shipped to Lagos State? Some of your think with your anus
JAMO84:
Ok, Now he's the governor, let him expose Tinubu by providing the evidence and have him prosecuted.

All these una useless propaganda on one man, because of hatred and bitterness.
He is referring to A:lpha Be:ta.

If O:sun makes ₦250b a year and A:lpha Be:ta percent is lets say 10% of ₦250B then that's ₦25B for that year from Osun only. That's over $58M per year from Osun.

Then add other states in SW or even Nigeria that use them and do the maths.

Lag:os according to the data they make public makes over ₦1.6T yearly.

10% of ₦1.6T is ₦160B which is over $370M yearly..

Note this is from States in SW alone not including other private companies he owns..

This is just my opinion.

Are you sure its only 2 games they will miss and not 3, bronze match and 2 WC games??

CAFs ban will be honored by FIFA at the WC. So, its the Bronze match and 1st WC game they will miss - unless CAF has a few qualifiers for the next WAFCON, Olympics or any other competition, then they will miss a match in there.
Nothing spoil.
okay..

He actually missed two games - the WC qualifiers vs Ghana.

You may be right - Ayinde and Ajibade’s straight reds would rule them out of the bronze medal match and the 1st WC game. Damn!
I think its mainly CAF competitions they will miss, like 3 qualifying matches or next WAFCON 2 group matches..

iwobi will miss at least one more nations cup qualifier.

Nah. For the AWCON and most other international competitions, it’s a one-match ban (provided the player wasn’t carrying 2 yellows prior to the straight red)

Thankfully, both Ayinde and Ajibade will be available for the 1st World Cup game because they will serve out their suspensions in the bronze medal game.
A straight red means 3 match ban or have they changed ithuh

Supersports has been so annoying, biased and sentimental in this championship. They made it clear that they didn't want Nigeria to reach the final especially that South African former captain. They shouldn't worry, Morocco will roast them in the final. Africa has a long way to go!
It's not an African thing.

It's a global thing.

When it comes to sports the Nigerian administrators need to learn to select the best and teach them finish off teams and always be calm.

This is absolutely untrue bruh. The very players that chase down through passes are the same players that excellently latch on to long balls. Take for example Harry kane. Mbappe, Ronaldo, Osimhen, Vinicius etc.

As for Onomonu, she won all her properly delivered long balls. However, she did little with it because she was isolated upfront due to the way we played especially in the first half, and was marked down by Estelle and the left back.
Controlling long balls is more difficult than controlling through passes..

Defenders can easily head out long balls while through passes must be intercepted , chased down or cleared by the keeper.

Becoz Lagos was the closest point of international movement for goods.
If Lagos seaport was to be situated at any other Lagos, Lagos will die a natural death.
Besides, if Lagos was that important, why didn't Lagos indigenes play into this same opportunity
There's a port called "Port Harcourt".
There are also:
Calabar port
Onne port
Warri port..

The SW has only 2 ports which are both in Lagos..

While Eastern Nigeria has 3 ports.. 2 in Port Harcourt and 1 in Calabar.

Port Harcourt and Calabar is closer to the SE than Lagos..

They moved to Lagos to enter the SW market not because of the port in Lagos.

Through passes not long balls?

Is there a player on this earth good with through passes and poor with long balls at the same time?
long balls bounces and may not bounce in favor of the striker and may be time for the defenders to recover..

Through passes are on the ground and easier to control, Chidinma Okeke gave Oshoala nice through passes in the last world cup which she scored..

Onomonu got a through pass against Botswana and finished it excellently..e.t.c..

It was the coach tactics to by pass mildfield and use long ball he was banking on oshoala pace upfront stop blaming ohale

I wonder if you guys start watching football in 2022
tactics that wasn't working... so if the tactic had worked that means that's what SF would have continued playing..

the good thing about it is that she clears the ball but most times the opponents get the ball back...

Oshoala thrives on through passes not long balls... infact most of the SF forward players thrive on through passes, so the midfield has to work on short passes and through passes..

Nawa ooooo

This comment is just an excellent Bullshit…

The major reason we lost to South Africa was Randy Waldrum poor Selection which was is major problem coming into the tournament… He’s currently getting things right gradually with his Selections…

So you think is easy with the Caliber of Players we have ahbi??

I can also tell you if not for Oshoala injury Okobi would still be coming from the Bench and Ajibade Would have been playing Midfield..
if Esther Okoronkwo and Desire Oparanozie was in the team with that lose to SA he would still have got some tough decisions to make…

Give the Superfalcons the Credit they deserve… Thank You!
this is not only about giving the Falcons the credit they deserve...

Oshoala , Desire Oparanozie and Esther Okoronkwo should seat on the bench when they are fit, Infact Oparanozie days in the SF are done...

the SF first team should be the ones currently playing in this AFCON... replacements should be gotten for Chikwelu, Ebi, Ohale and anyone over 30 years old..

I won't fully judge Oshoala until I watch playing in a Super Falcons that doesn't have Chikwelu in midfield and Ohale in defense... because Ohale was just kicking long balls to Oshoala and abandoned the midfield and Chikwelu couldn't control the midfield..

What an entertaining game... Cameroon played their best football of the tournament in this game, and we rose to the occasion..Kudos to them...

Against Morocco, the only thing that will work against us is the fact that Morocco will have the home advantage...Their fans will try to intimidate our players verbally and with the laser thing... Other than that, Morocco are no match for us...no matter how well coached they are....
Stop or reduce the boasting to 0.01%..

The way onome ebi was causing the Cameroonian players to fall in the box if we were playing Morocco that would have a penalty and sending off or yellow card for onome ebi..

When SF played France at the last world cup they got penalty..

If the referee gives Morocco at least 2 penalties then it will be difficult for the SF to win especially if the SF don't score.

Perspectives. But point remains she is a brilliant player.
My point is that the Super Falcons players hold on to the ball and try to dribble but end up losing possession instead of just passing the ball and keeping it simply.

Highly cerebral. Can use both feet. Intelligent in transition. Ashley is a babe of substance and she has done well so far at this tournament in only 2 games.

Her only bleep was vs Noxolo Cesane.
That wasn't a bleep. That was the intelligence of the South African player.

The S.A player made a quick turn and pass the ball quickly.

That goal was due to quick passing of S.A. and not holding on to ball for long and the failure of the Nigerian midfielders to track back and help the defenders.

Onumonu should be taking the corner kicks and maybe free kicks that was a good cross..

Just like I predicted, the Cameroonians put up a good fight defensively and of course had a lot of fouls and 2 yellow cards already.

To be fair, the Cameroonians have been disciplined tactically. It's obvious their strategy is to overload the middle and counter whenever they have the chance and they've done the perfectly. The negative effect of that is we won't be able to freely move the ball through the middle hence we'll get little opportunities close to the arch.

We played better though and I expect we improve on this in the second half. Okobi hasn't impressed me really. Her set pieces have been poor and she looses possession in the middle, then holds on to the ball too long. I'll like to see Kanu come in for Ordega and Okobi replaced then Ucheibe move forward to connect with the attack.
stop lying undecided undecided undecided

this is what you predicted below.

Cameroon is a highly ranked team and will not be beaten easily...

You can be confident, but don't ever be over-confident to the point that your over-confidence leads to boasting and talking down on opponents or people..

Hopefully, the S.F don't have your mentality and mindset.

Ajibade has been productive in midfield as much as on RW... She is versatile... Haaland and Salah aren't versatile.. Salah is one legged, Haaland has never played as a winger before..U should have used Mane as an example..
Ajibade isn't Salah or Halaand who are limited to one position..She's versatile..

Mind you, Cameroon have fast players too and they are physical..
No player is versatile.

Players have their trained positions and other positions they may have a good/bad game in some matches.

A GK cannot play as a Striker even if he scores goals.

The problem is you want to move a player from where she got 3 assists and a goal to where she has no assists and no goals.

In summary you're a Cameroonian..

But against Botswana,she was ineffective...

Ajibade has proven that she can function in midfield as much as on the flanks.... Consistency is the main thing...
You don't remove a player from their productive position.

How many times do you see Mo Salah playing LW or Haaland playing as a Winger.

Botswana have fast players, any player will struggle against fast defenders whose midfielders also cover for them.

Why was Mo Salah ineffective against Real Madrid huh huh
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by codemaniacs: 4:03pm On Jul 13, 2022

Ajibade got 3 assists from RW through Cutbacks and Crosses. When you have such player on one wing, the other winger must be someone with good positioning and a good goalscorer. Playing Ordega on the other wing will isolate Ify in the box because Ordega is also similar to Ajibade. Setting up a team is not just about names..it is about how the skillsets of each player complement one another.
I just want the win.. anybody that starts is okay for me
That's the point.

Ordega is to the LW what Ajibade is to the RW.

So we need a Finisher in the center.

Kanu can start but she must also be substituted before the 60th minute for Onumonu.

Because Cameroon will Target and injure the forwards and the referee will play dumb..
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by codemaniacs: 3:48pm On Jul 13, 2022

If Ajibade will be starting on the right wing, then Kanu should start. Ajibade is more of a creative forward so we need a goalscorer at he other side rather than a pure winger. The 4th goal against Burundi is an example of what I'm saying.
Ordega starts as LW while Onumonu starts as ST. Kanu on the bench.

Kanu should enter before the 60th minute for Onumonu.

Kanu missed clear chances against Burundi and Cameroon should not injure her the way South Africa injured Oshoala they can injure Onumonu grin grin
