Whether he/she is educated or not, you are a public figure, a role model for crying out loud! Two wrongs don't make a right! Neglect the person, better block him /her if you can't stomach it. Every office has its own grace which should be honoured. so a public figure should not defend herself against abuse she could and can stomach it that's why she responded to the person... No office has grace.. you are the one that can't stomach the fact that she defended herself... you and the people complaining about her response can't stomach it because you're also tribal bigots and the only people complaining of her response are people that share the same ethnicity and tribe with the abuser... |

Men, I am surprise at you! What is the difference then between a civil government worker and unknown person who may not be educated ? People like you should not near public service, every office has its own grace which should be honoured. Tell me the difference between this government official and an uneducated market woman? Geoffrey Onyeama is the minister of foreign affairs and its his job Abike is doing... the person can afford access to the internet, can form a sentence in engl:ish so the person she responded to is educated.. Call out minister of foreign affairs Geoffrey Onyeama for not doing his job and also call out Ezekwesili and yourself for not cautioning the person who called abused her.. |

Only a tribal bigot knows another tribal bigot... you're also a tribal bigot... what is no sense of commitment you called her a tribal bigot that means her sense of commitment is to her ethnicity... same way Ezekwesili is also a tribal bigot for not calling the guy that abused her to order... She'll rather boot the ball to throw-in even when a pass will suffice. hatakekakashi: That Folorunsho is too shaky for a CB, she's giving Ekong vibes. She's always booting the ball for throw-in under little pressure even when the keeper's unmarked. She's not shaky. Let her keep clearing the ball that way .. if imuran was clearing the ball that way instead of passing then Falconets would have beaten Holland at the U20 tournament. |

dijon: My thoughts and opinions on the Esperance vs Plateau United Match.
1. Plateau United played gallantry but they lacked the technical skills in killing off a game.
2. Plateau United played against the crowd, lush wide playing field, and most importantly the centre referee. 3. We play our league football mostly on sub standard pitches (artificial and cow dung pitches) and these most importantly killed the technical skill aspect of our local based players.
3. We can not compete with the North Africans in club football, they are 30 years ahead of us...we caught up with them in the era of Bendel Insurance, Bcc lions of Gboko and Enyimba International but maladministration, poor pitches, incompetent coaches and win at all cost syndrome set our club and Association football 30 years backward.
Solution 1. Scrap all document and laws guiding our league.
2. Start all over again with genuine football stakeholders (not government hungry men running our present day football clubside and state associations) and use modern football laws and templates to develop the league.
3. Stay away from Africa football clubside competitions for 5 years
4. Mandate any club that wants to be part of the Association football to provide evidence that it can sustain itself without government fund and have a modern club house that will include all facilities to aid the development of players example Remo stars. you don't stay away from a competition for 5 years that's foolishness because for those 5 years you won't play against them and assess their strengths and weaknesses while you believe you're growing your football during those 5 years the other teams are also growing their own football while playing in those competitions... cheating is what made Plateau United lose the match not technical skill, the only other thing that made them lose the match is not scoring more than their opponents.. we can compete with any team... Nigerians just have to realize that north Africans cheat and won't play fairly and that other teams and some C.A.F officials don't want any Nigerian team to qualify.. In summary.. Nigerian teams need strikers that can finish and need to know how to play possession football.. |

Cantonese: Grow up and stop this your "my papa tell me say...".
Nobody talked about tribes, but about Lagos and it's development. Our discussion centers on Tinubu's claim that Lagos was a jungle before his administration.
Igbos made your country's leadership fail? Igbos made your leadership fail to create jobs and establish industries? Igbos made your governments fail to provide electricity and security?
Wake up and be wise. Poor leadership, poor nation. Corrupt leadership, miserable nation. Crooked politicians, divided nation.
Ask me questions about how Lagos was before and after Tinubu.
Yorubas/Igbos/Fulanis/Hausas, etc did not ruin the nation. Politicians of every tribe teamed up to ruin the nation.
Nigeria was a far more peaceful and happy nation in the 1990s and before now. Nigeria wasn't peaceful in the 90s... the violence wasn't reported the way its been reported today.. Lagos was a jungle can have many meanings and not that it was a forest and undeveloped.... Igbo leaders created a Unitary government ensured that the FG had control of security, electricity which are important for job creation and industry creation... so yes it's Igbos that started the ruin of the country... |

Cantonese: How old are you, my pickin?
Tinubu built Itire road? Sorry my son. Itire road existed ages ago in the history of Lagos. The palace of the Onitire has not changed in anyway. Infact the whole of Ijesha, traversing Itire to Mushin, have largely remained the same. Lawanson remains the same, except for the new buildings. Those filling stations in Lawanson have been there for more than 50 years. Nothing changed in Idi araba. All the roads were refurbished and keep getting refurbishments.
Ijaiye road was always there. He made the new road. Obasanjo resurfaced Idi iroko to Sango in 1999, making it necessary for the then new government of Tinubu to fix Ijaiye road. Tinubu surfaced Ikotun-Igando road, but within the area of Igando, Ambode surfaced them all making them beautiful and habitable. Ambode fixed the whole Ikola to Sango. Go and see then today. What about the Oshodi interchange? Na Tinubu do am sef?
On an IGR of N600m, Marwa gave a peaceful and prosperous. The exchange rate was N21.89 to the dollar. Today under your Tinubu and Buhari, it is N433 officially and N740 unofficially, a ruined economy and miserable citizens. Make your calculation and tell us the difference in real value.
Ask your daddy his income in the 70s. Ask him whether it is not true that his 130 naira a month or 400 naira a month did not pay all his bills and give him joy. You could buy Coke in Lagos for 6 kobo then. Ask Tinubu and Buhari what happened to our economy. Presently you buy a bottle of coke for N200. On the face value, that was the salary in the period mentioned by you. In real terms presently, that's a bottle of coke.
Tinubu supported a baba go slow to bring this nation to its knees. Now he claims emi lo kan, with a promise to continue Buhari's legacies. No be wahala be that? what comment in summary means you can't compare 2022 and the 1990s... Itire road was a terrible road filled with pot holes in the 90s.. most places in Ikeja that were not Alausa had very bad roads... service lanes on express roads were very bad, majority of inner streets had terrible roads and some are still terrible... What happened to our economy its not just Nigeria.. the global economy is affected... Igbos happened to our economy... Igbos are the ones who import the most... when imports are more than exports it leads to a trade deficit.. |

daveP: Ajakaye has the pace of a Winger. I feel that will be her role as she goes up the ladder. Mosaku and Adeshina having better headers than shots in the box. Same for the team in general.
Why the urge to curl all shots? Evident that was a training project in camp. They need to get volleys.
The wings are still a problem, but passing is better. We need to see what the bench can offer.
I love the 3&4th goals though. They nee6d space and they got just that to shoot. Ajakaye on LRC all through. If we lead Chile by 1st half, she should be rested. that curl shots is what is missing in the Super Eagles and Super Falcons and most of the national teams so its at least nice to see the Female teams scoring curling shots... Ajakaye needs learn how to curl shots.. she could have curled her shot when she was one on one or lobbed the goalkeeper.. |

Cantonese: Lagos, a jungle when Tinubu became the governor? What a big fat lie.
He can only tell that yeye lie to small children. He can only tell that to his blind followers. All the areas and communities in Lagos today were existing many years before BAT became the governor. So how did he become a senator, representing a jungle?
That Ikorodu road that he partitioned to make his BRT lanes was rebuilt in 1974 by Capa _D'Aberto. The whole of Surulere, Aguda, Lawanson, Ijesha, Mushin existed many years ago and have never really changed. Ebute Metta, Yaba, Ilupeju, Maryland, Ikeja, Ketu, Alapere, Ikorodu environmentally, have remained the same since we knew them. He's compound near Femi Kuti's shrine was a go slow area and still remains till today. What about Ajegunle, Maroko, Okokomaiko, Satellite town? So this big deceiver wants to tell people like us that Festac town was a jungle? An entire area built and completed by Obasanjo, which was very beautiful, but damaged today? What about Lekki? An area that was developed by the late Raji Rasaki, following the destruction of Maroko? It was called Victoria Island extension. Ajah developed following that action in 1989. So Tinubu developed Badagry and Epe? What about Egbeda, Ikotun and their adjourning areas?
So Tinubu built Apapa, including the port? Tin can Island was built under the military regimes of Murtala Mohammed/Obasanjo/Mobolaji Johnson in 1977. The same government rebuilt Badagry expressway, starting from Eric Moore to Badagry. What about Oshodi expressway, starting from Apapa wharf to Oworonsoki to meet Seven up, Ketu and connect the third mainland bridge?
So Tinubu built the Oba's palace, Idumota, City Hall, Igbosere, Bamgbose, etc? So Martins street was a jungle, abi? Maryland, Ajao estate, airport road, Isolo and Ago/Okota were jungles? Oyinlola started asphalt on Ago palace road and ended in less than one kilometer, in 1995. That spot became a by stop known as end of tarred road. Marwa fixed that road completely. Oyinlola named a close after himself. It is called Oyinlola close, where his own mother lived.
Marwa chased the herdsmen away from Marine beach, Ajegunle to the present Oko Oba in 1997. Then cows were struggling with Lagosians on Lagos roads. It was Buba Marwa who sent then to the ranch when the cow owners could not stop their fights with tanker drivers. His ultimatum brought sanity to Lagos roads. If not for him, kids would grow up today seeing cows and dungs all over Lagos. Tinubu would not have had to liver to stop them, seeing his fraternization with the northerners to achieve his present emi lo kan ambition.
The present outer Marina was built by Obasanjo. Where you have the present UBA under Apongbon bridge, was UTC. From that point to the officers mess, was the lagoon throughout. Obasanjo reclaimed that land in 1978 and built the ferry station there. The present CMS ferry station was formerly in front on Joseph street. Was it Tinubu who removed the old iron made Eko bridge? How would Tinubu claim that he built the third mainland bridge. That bridge was part of the second national development plan and built under Obasanjo. What about all the Jakande housing estates, scattered all over Lagos? So baba Jakande did nothing.
What Tinubu did was formulate policies to make Lagos work better. The taxation plan was set in place when the revenue of Lagos was withheld by Obasanjo. The basis of the disagreement was his establishment of additional local governments to match Kano state. Tinubu the began that revenue drive.
We need Buba Marwa and Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who were governors before him to speak up, to disprove his blatant lies.
He can only tell his lies to the likes of Reno Omokri and small children on Nairaland.
Tinubu can only tell his fables to babies born between 1980 and 2000, who never knew Lagos.
We can give you the story of Lagos long before and after Tinubu Tinubu built and reconstructed Itire road, Ijaye road. A lot roads in Lagos were mud roads and sandy roads or roads filled with deep pot holes.. Tinubu created BRT which Fashola completed, LAWMA, LASMA, RRS, Hydro power plant and LASUTH remodernization, EKO ATLANTICS, Alpha beta, lekki toll gate and creation of more local govts which created more jobs and employment especially for Yoruba people.. Like you said Tinubu began a revenue drive that makes Lagos work better.. the same way parents work to make the lives of their children better than what they had when they were children.. Would Lagos have been able to maintain the infrastructure it had on a N600m monthly IGR and even build more infrastructure, before Tinubu started the revenue drive your parents wealth and your own wealth between 1974 and 2022 did it remain the same can you survive on the same income you earned in 1974 and use that same income to survive in 2022 did your salary between 1974 and 2022 remain the same |

mostob: 1. The war part was an idiomatic expression.
2. A game can be won or lost at full time not half time.
3. Flamingo was on the front foot throughout so why should they defend? BTW the best form of defend is attack.
4. The fact that you park the bus doesn't guarantee that your opponent won't score.
5. They lost to Germany partly because of missed chances and poor officiating.
6. The coach's tactic was working throughout so why should he changed it? 1. English is not my language so I don't care about knowing its expressions. I take everything in basic meaning 2. Most teams don't stage a come back if the score is 8 - 0 in the 1st half.. 3. The best form of attack is to hold possession in the opponents half of the pitch and ensure that counter attacks are stopped. 4. Pack the bus ensures there are more players in defense so If one defender is beaten then another player can block the opposition attacker.. the 1st goal that Germany scored was due to ball watching and lack of high number of players defending the corner. the 2nd goal was due to the defender trying to intercept the pass and no other player to cover for her.... If they packed the bus then there would have been another player to stop the attacker. 5. All referees will be against African teams so its important to score many goals which would nullify any favouritism from the referee towards the other team. 6. If the coach's tactic were working then we wouldn't have lost that match... and he should have changed it once the Flamingoes were leading by telling one of the midfielders to drop to defense or change to a counter attacking formation.. |

mostob: It is not sentiment. You don't go to a war with your full armoury. And at times, you need to have plan B. Aside the missed chances today, everybody did their job well. It's football not war... the game can be won and lost in the 1st half... Flamingoes were leading and only had one player defending... luckily for the Flamingoes, New Zealand's didn't score... there should be at least 2 players at the back when its 0 - 0 or 3 - 4 players when Flamingoes are leading... Flamingoes didn't have a defense line and don't know how to "pack the bus"... If they had defended or "packed the bus" with 9 players ( changing to 6-3-1 ) against Germany then they would have won or at worst drawn the match... and this means Flamingoes have no counter-attacking pattern or style because if they are leading then they should switch to counter attacking game... If Super Falcons had packed the bus against Morocco when they leading then Super Falcons would have gotten to the AWCON final... Its now obvious to me that Nigerian coaches and foreign coaches they hired don't know how to defend and switch formations during a match to favor the team... |

Subzero047: You don't know what you are talking about, anticipation will make you stay onside and not offside, you haven't talked about Haaland's speed of thinking, clear ball striking and positioning which he has more than Osimhen, Man City's top scorer last season De Bruyne had 15 goals and Haaland has already topped that in 2 months so no be by luck Your friend tells you she's coming by 10am then you prepare that she'll come by 10am but by 10am she doesn't show up then she calls you at 1pm that she can't make it again that day.. That's the summary of Osimhen issue. Osimhen doesn't consider the defense line when he makes his runs.. he runs beyond the defense line too often. Anticipation will never make you stay onside... It's Patience that will make you stay onside.. Osimhen lacks patience. |

mostob: Ever heard the saying, work smart, not hard ? That's what's applicable here. Haaland doesn't exert his energy pressing anyhow. All he has is positioning and high sense of anticipation. I have never seen any player who is ahead of Haaland in both qualities.
The fact that Osimehn presses hard doesn't mean he will definitely score more goals than Haaland in the City team. Osimehn in that City team will give the MSN vibe where every forwards will have almost the same number of goals and assists.
Both are quality players but with remarkable differences. Osimhen will score more in any team as long as Osimhen learns to stay onside. Is it not the same Man City that a young Ihenacho was scoring goals in... Ihenacho is not as fast as Osimhen.. Man City usually has more possession than their oppositions so their forward players don't really have to press. They just have stay onside and wait for the pass or cross.. Osimhen has a higher sense of anticipation than Haaland that's one of the reasons Osimhen runs offside because he has already anticipated and predicted the pass so he thinks his teammates think like him. In summary Instead of staying onside and waiting for the pass or cross... Osimhen predicts the pass then runs early and runs past the defenders and runs offside. |

AkinDS: Its the so-called Nigerian journalists that keep asking him the same silly questions over and over again, which he keeps answering. Is it not a fact that other African nations have been 'catching up' and making progress in women's football, which is similar to what's happening with the rest of the world?. Is it not a fact that Nigeria cannot just wake up on the eve of a tournament and expect to go there and dominate (as in the past), solely based on name recognition? Nigerians love burying their heads in the sand, expecting the rest of the continent (and world) remain at a stand still. Guess what? They are not and that is why the likes of Morrocco, South Africa, Zambia and others are progressing fast!
I guess its his job to get on the field and score now, right? As a coach, you prosecute a game with the players at your disposal. Now, if those players aren't up to the task (contrary to the misguided beliefs of Nigerians that all their players are the best in the world), then you get what you get. If you like, go and get yourself a Pia Sundhagen or Sarina Wiegman or Vlatko Andonovski or even Florence Omagbemi for that matter. It wouldn't change a damn thing! He has been working on making our ladies team more tactically and strategically competent and it has been working, at least, in the eyes of others outside of this forum who understand the tactical and strategic nuances of the game. I, for one, saw a Nigerian ladies team, short on personnel and acclimatization (due to jet lag) play against the Japanese and dominated in the first half. I saw them playing the high block and low block and moving the ball around brilliantly and impressively. Now, I get that most so-called fans may lack the ability to recognize such subtle improvements (perhaps due to their pre-conceived biases), but that doesn't take away from that fact that those improvements have actually happened.
You need to understand that in the overall scheme of things, specifically pre-Waldrum, Nigeria really dropped the ball regarding women's football development and we were slowly being left behind. Unfortunately, the same myopic, 'we are not playing beautiful football and whooping teams left and right' mantra was what led to the idiotic decision behind the firing or Rohr, which ended up being a total disaster. We keep making the same dumb mistakes (not just in football, but in Nigeria as a whole) and expect to get better. Well...
In closing: I was asked (in a previous thread) why I am in support of the man. Well, here's my response... Randy has worked on revamping the team, slowly transitioning from the old brigade to newer, younger players and also infusing the team with new players who are more in tune with the modern game. The build up and climb to the summit takes time, and is filled with disappointments (failing fast, learning, correcting and moving forward). Losses in irrelevant battles (friendlies) are not a predicate for how the war (the WC) will turn out, but are used to help identify areas of weakness and shoring them up (failing fast to succeed later). This is the same model that the likes of England, Spain, Mexico and several other countries used over the years, with some success. Our SF performances against Canada, US and Japan, albeit losses, demonstrated to me that he is on the right track - again, patiently building a solid and robust team. Let the man finish his project!!! Stop saying nonsense.. Randy is meant to improve the team not regress the team. He doesn't rate the S.F high and doesn't make effort to improve the team. He plays players out of position and doesn't sub out Onumonu especially when she's having a bad game. No Nigerian football team can ever be short on personnel there are replacements for every player. After the world cup, he needs to go unless super Falcons reach the semi final of the world cup. |
