Tell me one time even a fit Morata registered 20 league goals for any side. Just tell me one.

I doubt you would find one yet Morata has featured for most marquee clubs (Real Madrid, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Juventus).

Now... You just read facts and called it story, story, story.

But since you believe and know what a fit Osimhen can do... then that settles this discussion.

The wrong move would have been Osimhen moving to Man Utd this summer like some Shameless Man U fans in here wanted but thanks goodness that didn't happen.

Next Summer, Osimhen will likely get his big move after having another strong season in the Serie A under his belt. Maybe Man U will be a better place by then... time will tell. Other options also exist. Next Summer will tell it all.

So chill out with your "wrong move-destroy career" talks. He's been at Napoli for 3 seasons now including this current one. You make it sound like he's been on the move every other season.
must Osimhen movehuh huh

Napoli is on an upward trajectory, they are thrashing the "marquee" clubs and will compete in UEFA competitions every season.

Osimhen needs to learn to take care of himself more and stop getting injured, If he needs to change his diet then he should change it and if he needs to rest more to prevent muscle tears then he should..

same thing goes for all Nigerian players, they should reduce whatever causing them to weaken their muscles and the Nigerian coaches should also help them by not calling them up for International matches...

Amoo, Sadiq, Tijani all have ACL injuries and Osimhen almost got an ACL injury but he was wise enough to stop running around and just lay on the pitch...

Fortune is smiling on the Igbo Clan these days and they seemed blessed on all fronts! Who wouldn't be happy having Davido as in-law! He's definitely going to bring light to their benighted enclave. Better days are here for the Igbo, because an opportunity has come to them to have a Yorubaman as tutor of good things. It's certainly praiseworthy having the Yoruba lead from front and the Igbo following in their wake. Maybe this will seal up their loose lips and tie up their loose tongue for once, who knows. It'll use it to kiss the ground before them, the mouth which the snail abuse the gods with, it will use it to sing their praise.
davido is I:gbo. the only thing Yoruba about davido is his Yoruba name ( he definitely has an I:gbo name )..

his grandma was an I:gbo woman while his granddad was Yoruba, that makes davido's father half Igbo half Yoruba.

davido's father also married an I:gbo woman, which makes all their children ( davido and his siblings ) 0.75 I:gbo and 0.25 Yoruba...

then davido's son ( Ifeanyi ) with C:hioma means Ifeanyi is full blood Igbo boy with a Y:oruba surname..

Our players especially CAMs or CMs no matter how good they are will never be rated high enough to be a top teams CAM in the top 5 leagues..

Nwakali is not European so don't expect him to be highly rated...

Some may see it as hate but bossing the laliga 2 is not enough to deserve a call up to one of the best teams in Africa unless in a position on the pitch where the super eagles lacks better players in top European leagues
It's not about bossing laliga2. It's about what Nwakali brings.. most good teams have 2 creative midfielders in their starting eleven.

Man City has de bruyne and B. Silva
R.madrid has modric and kroos
Man utd has Eriksen and Fernandez.
Barca has pedri and gavi.

Not including Nwakali shows your football knowledge is low..

Sometimes I wonder the way you guys rate players

Bashiru and tijani are injured while nwobodo is in the mls. The latter at his prime shouldn’t be in the mls if he is as good as hyped here

U are making a case for dead woods and injured players but left out aribo who is doing decently well in his first season in one of the toughest leagues in europe

Nawaoooo!
Aribo is a forward player not a midfielder..

Aribo should be playing either left winger or supporting striker.

Anytime Aribo plays as a midfielder for the S.E the midfield is always looking
lean and with Iwobi also trying to join the attack the S.E ends up with a one man midfield and that's bad.

And that @bolded... partly explains why he should NOT have been invited in the first place. This is part of the tactical viewpoint I wanted Utonwanne to understand.

One, he is a Benchwarmer.

Two, he doesn't have the positional discipline for the role.

On a flip side, Iwobi wasn't even the closest to the ball. It was Moses Simon.
So no excuses made for Nigeria's best player yesterday.

Finally, Onyeka didn't make the right steps into that zone. If he did, we won't be analysing his second mistake which isn't obvious to the peripheral eyes.

How do you call yourself a defensive minded player with instructions to help protect the defence in defensive phases and you are defending space behind that do not lead to the goalmouth from where Atal's shot was taken?

SMH. Enough of this. You are just here defending a underpar showing from a player with very limited abilities but high energy for defensive actions. And even defensively, he still flunked.
Iwobi and the other players outside the box should have closed down the player.. he is on the bench because the team he plays for favors Danish players not because he is not good and he started been benched because he came for AFCON.

Before AFCON he was in the starting 11.

TheSuperNerd:
Mister. I have analysed Onyeka as a Pressing CM on this thread. I know exactly the kind of midfielder he is.

So stop making stale excuses for him.

Now, in the context of yesterday's game, he was the CDM. He was the one primarily tasked with defensive duties. He was the one meant to protect the defence. Did he do a good job of that? Not really.

He did have his defensive moments and won couple of duels, marking and tracking opponents but times and times again, he also left gaps in the middle, showing poor positioning and also didnt cover himself in glory as regards his passing range.

And again, shots like that sometimes get past the first Man trying to block and ends up at the block of the 2nd or 3rd man in the path of the ball.

Had Onyeka been present in his defensive Zone, we would/might not be talking Iwobi close to the ball. Iwobi did what he could.

All he had to do was take up his position centrally in his DM zone and act as a barrier in anticipation of a strike. But no... baba was ball watching.

Onyeka had a generally underpar yesterday. Don't sugar-coat it further abeg.
You're the one making excuses for Iwobi..

A player that is not a DM cannot play the DM position the same way a DM will play it.

When a team is in possession they are in an offensive state but when a team is not in possession they are in a defensive state so all 10 players are meant to protect the defense.

And he did what he could.

Had Onyeka taken a few more steps, instead of Ball watching and moved into his Actual Primary defensive zone as the CDM, he might have gotten the block that no one else could have achieved.

3 touches leading to the goal was enough time to see Onyeka take up position in his primary zone yesterday.

His tactical sense of positioning and anticipation is underpar. That is the whole point.
Iwobi was ball watching. Iwobi didn't do anything. What you fail to realize is that Onyeka is a CM not a DM.

S.E played without a DM yesterday and a DM would have also been in the box so it's players outside the box like Iwobi that could have prevented the second goal.

Damn it! How many more of this do I have to put up with this lunch break? Haba!!

And Onyeka wasn't expected to be near the guy taking the shot. Don't misquote me. I clearly explained the scenario.

And what was he defending with the ball already cleared??

All I said is he should have moved more centrally and upwards into his CDM zone at the top of the box. He had the time to do that but didn't even with the ball already cleared and headed outwards of the box towards another Algerian player who then rolled it into Atal's path who took 2 touches for that strike.

That is about 3 touches from Uzoho to Atal before he even struck.

He caused a penalty. Is limited in possession. Shows positional indiscipline for the CDM role leaving gaps in his primary defending zones. And only made a few meters of ball carries which you exaggerate as moving the ball from defence to offense.

Onyeka a gem? With all these limitations and errors yesterday? Really?
Iwobi was the one who should have prevented the second goal because iwobi was the closest to the ball...

the best pivot will be ndidi and iwobi then aribo as the AM
If you play Aribo as AM then your formation will be 2-1-7 when Nigeria is in possession because the FullBacks will join the wingers, Iwobi and Aribo will join the attack which will make the midfield almost empty.

Aribo doesn't drop deep or drop to midfield so he should rarely be played as a midfielder.

In the WC qualifier it was Aribo, ihenacho and bonke... Bonke was the only one in midfield.

If we use your formation against Brazil they will beat the Super Eagles 13 - 0.

Onyeka cost us a penalty yesterday. Mahrez scored from it.

Onyeka wasn't occupying his DM Zone. Atal scored from that zone.

Defensively he had his moments and did okay. But I am meant to believe he is a gem?? Based on what Holistic Performance exactly?

In key moments of the game, He cost us. Let that sink in.
Onyeka should have only closed down the player instead of tackling the player in the box.

2nd goal wasn't Onyeka's fault. It was from a corner kick uzoho punched the ball and the players outside the box are the ones suppose to win such balls and prevent outside shot. Onyeka was defending in the box so how do you expect him to stop the shot when he was no where near the ballhuh

Onyeka is a gem.. he is faster and more mobile than Ndidi and can run with the ball at his feet and was taking the ball from defense to midfield to offense which is what Nwakali was doing at the AFCON..

A starting midfield of Iwobi, Onyeka, onyedika and Ndidi is the solution to the midfield. Then their substitutes are bonke, Nwakali, alhassan-yusuf , nwobodo.

Super Eagles already have at least 10 midfielders. so only the coaches know why they don't call up at least 6 or 7 of them:

Iwobi
Nwakwali
Alhassan Yusuf
Obinna Nwobodo
Ramon Azeez
Onyeka

the national team has 5 players who give through passes and only 2 of those 5 are usually called up and play games.. the 5 players Ihenacho, Iwobi, Nwakali, Olayinka, Amoo... S.E needs players that play as a team not players that see themselves as the hero of the team...

Brazil's goals came from the wing and set pieces. Brazil is not playing through the midfield.

Once Brazil plays the ball to the midfield the midfield plays it to any of the wings then the wings either plays a cross or cuts inside and passes into box or midfield which this time would be at the semi circle just outside the box.
