Best time to change your $$$/€€€ to Naira is now. Naira is weak right now and you will get an extra 7% since October rates.

You will get more Naira for your $$$.

The weakness is going to last 3 months; -ember months. It will regain it's ground come January/February.

Don't go in for 365-day tenors, the Naira will be weak again when you want to change your money back ( if you wanted to).

90-180 day tenor would be preferable; Naira will have very well recovered from it's weakness. You would be using less Naira to get the $$$ you put in back.

Ok Boss. Was only informing the house. However the entire dish with the 5 LNBF Cost 8K at strong office. I personally don't think its expensive sha. Considering the fact that this dish is not even round like our regular 90cm.its is specially shaped to accommodate all the sattelites conveniently. Whn U calculate cost of regular dish, 5 lmbf and wahala of construction............I don't see construction as cheaper.

I would have gotten N178.50 if I pushed.

Sold $$ today at N178 and I even dulled at that. Overheard the BDC guys talking about another person who sold to them for 178.5

Anybody out there receiving USD/GBP/EUR inflows to Nigeria?
Please how much do you get charged per receipt?

I used Diamond Bank for many years and my money was always short an additional $40 - $50 after the sender/bank takes $25 off for fees to total $60-$70 charges anytime I received USD.

I switched to GTB last year. Now my total fees are flat $50, $25 by (Unknown), $25 by the sender/bank.

This not include the 0.5% fee when I withdraw either.
...Diamond Bank used to charge me 1% on withdrawals.


When I inquire about who has taken this extra charge, nobody knows. The sender/bank does not know, GTB/DiamondBank staff can't give me details of what was received. Seems rather ridiculous to me.


Please share you experience; these fees add up and I need to find the best option yet still. I have always felt I ought to be charged just a single $25 charge, and nothing more.

See, I had €5k in my European account for 1 year, dats equivalent N1m.. Some folks on here saying 9-10% is a poor return.

With a relatively stable Naira, it's pretty much the one of the best "savings" interest rate in the world.

Usually you can transfer from dom to naira, granted both accounts are under the same login with the bank.

I know this for GTB and Diamond.

Rates are terrible however so I never do, but have done in the past.

Not a great idea to go back and forth between currencies. If you changed from $ £ € to Naira to invest in Nigeria, best is to leave it as Naira else you lose some of your profit changing back....

I have a 1M dish in a location where the west is the most clear. I had put it there to receive 7W when MBC was active there, I couldn't even get the MBC then sef. Well I turned it recently to 22W but there are no inspiring stations there. The stations there are either scrambled or have alternatives in other satellite positions. I am wondering if there is any satellite in the western hemisphere I can better use to utilise this 1M dish to reduce its redundancy. Suggestions welcomed.

Did you read what I wrote? I have IRIB VARESH. You do not need a 2.4m dish to get IRIB.

If you can read a footprint map, you need a minimum 1m dish in anywhere in Nigeria to get VARESH.

Diamond, Stanbic, UBA, First Bank.

Can anyone give me an idea why my IRIB VARESH disappears in the morning but at night is a solid 65%?

Update: Scratch that!

I found that my Amos 5 line/lnb was somehow disturbing the signal. I removed it from the diseq, and Varesh is now showing

Out of curiosity though, the question still stands: why does it show at night yet still but not in the day (with the bad line connected)?

Also can anybody out there help me with an Amos 5 / Multi TV on one dish (60cm)? I can't get it to show and I have the 2-in-1 discovery LNB- Using Amos 5 as my primary. As it is now, I always have to go and physically move the dish up or down to switch between Amos 5 and Multi TV. I've read that it is possible and a couple of people said they have done it.
