Everyday, we hear about our massive natural resources, yet we don't know those who exploit them. Today they say foreigners, tomorrow they say bandits... yet, no one is arrested and prosecuted.
Subsidy was fraught with corruption but has anyone been arrested? It has even been reintroduced without arrests and prosecution so expect the current corruption to be more severe. Our structure and attitude has been influenced by availability of easy crude money. Fortunately, that money is being used to repay wasted loans by past govt. Restructuring is starting us, either forcefully or diplomatically.

There is what is called deflation. When prices starts tumbling downwards. Look if we look inwards produce what we eat, build our little houses with our own products and have free transport. Naira would not only gain value the 30,000 Naira of today may actually fall to the equivalent of $1,000.00
You are making perfect sense but many will never understand. In a nation where people are used to cutting corners as a virtue, where they steal the future through in the present theough demonic powers, go to govt work to pick salary without working they don't expect to be called upon to be productive. They only want to plunder and consume while bragging about some easy greens and means.

Any call to deflation involves massive production of what you consume most and that means hitherto salary earning idlers will be called to do actual work. They don want that. They want crude oil earning to be used to pay them unconditionally. Fortunately for the system the crude oil money has been used to borrow heavily into future earnings.

Let's just become communist already. Forget the wages they can decide what we eat, where we live, where we work and how many kids we have. The state has proven to be good at running schools, the electrical grid and other industries like oil refineries. Revolution now comrades.
go and revolt now. Where will govt get N600k to pay people who majorly go to work twice a month to eat groundnut and gist such salary?

The oil resources Nigeria is structured upon has been used or programmed to repay wasted debt for the foreseeable future so where will govt get such unreasonable amount from?

Politics › Re: Senate Approves $500m Loan For Metering Nigerians by CodeTemplar: 5:26pm On May 15, 2024
LegendHero:
I don’t care if there are 1 trillion or just 50 households. They should just get everywhere metered so people won’t die from this estimated billing.

Even if it is private, nothing stop government from intervention because many Nigerians can’t afford the true cost of those meters if private agencies were to sell them.

For the money budgeted, people need to follow up to make sure it is used for intended purpose. That is the only issue and not the actual intent.
BMC job is a shameless one.

LegendHero:
Electricity in Nigeria is not wholly private.

If subsidizing the industry by FG mean people will have access to meter, then I welcome the decision.

Electricity and metering is damn expensive. When they increased the tariff of band A people, no be us dey complain about too much cost?

How many poor Nigerians can afford meters if private agency are the one purchasing it to sell? Think about it nao
the private arm is responsible for that.

Do you think we have 92 million households? Think it well o. That's 2.2 persons average per meter-able household. Even if all self-contain apartments have metre, itcant reach 5 million. Never.

This is a loan to cover fiscal cracks and not one useless metering.
Politics › Re: Kashim Shettima: Tinubu Subsidised Cost Of 2024 Hajj With N90 Billion by CodeTemplar: 5:07pm On May 15, 2024
And ASUU is asking for how much again?

Tinubu understands the spiritual structure and chart of the Nigerian society so pleases the elite who have a stronghold on the gullible followers. He is busy making the connected clique happy at the expense of suffering and downtrodden unconnected.
Politics › Re: Senate Approves $500m Loan For Metering Nigerians by CodeTemplar: 5:03pm On May 15, 2024
LegendHero:
The main thing is for it to get to the final consumer for the intended benefit.

If it will indeed translate to metering Nigeria to a realizable percentage, it’s a good deal.

But if they’ll embezzle it and we start hearing another story, then it’s like moving round in circles. The government at this stage can’t afford to do any failed interventions.
Is MTN Glo or Airtel meeting govt for loans to produce SIM cards? Why buy metre for a private company. They make it sound like metre is such a big thing.

That's why I asked the Idan(stars) crew encountering their Idanwo(trials) to do away with unproductive subsidies alone but hold on to productive ones. USA just taxed chinese imports extra to level up the playing field because china was subsidising to delibrately flood western markets.
Our courtroom debaters will try to make us believe subsidy as a concept is evil. It is when done wrong or with corruption it becomes a burden.

How would that solve the terrorism?
terrorism is being used to cash out from a generous oil money system. If the oil money is not in view of evil politicians and their foot soldier, no bandits will leave his village and come back to abduct people for ransom.

Any calamitous move they want to make, they make it sound normal and so casual. Borrowing from the savings of the young and middle aged workers to fund an unproductive system will be one of the final stroke if not the final stroke. All the useless infrastructure they have built, how many can repay a quarter of their cost?
Nonsense!

How many times have Tinubu contested to be president or vice president?

This Is Tinubu's first time, Peter Obi's 2nd time, despite being older, less healthier and the volume of social media Traffic against him, Tinubu still won..as he will easily win a 2nd term..

PO is how old? 62 maybe..add 16 years to that...That is how old he is going to be by the next time The presidency returns to the South...if we still remember his name.
You can talk because APC is rigging like PDP PDP used to. LP has never been in power federally.
Politics › Re: NLC: If Peter Obi Adopts IMF Policies As President, We Will Disown Him by CodeTemplar: 4:28pm On May 14, 2024
Is IMF really the problem? I don't think so.

One major problem we have is low productivity and sadly, we have institutionalized that. IMF is not stopping us from being productive, they are only try make us productive enough to stop being in lack.
