What nonsense, she has the guts to say she didn't cheat. what if it was a result of baby swap during delivery or mix up of DNA sample. |

Business › Re: Top Ten African Currencies Compared To US Dollar by CodeTemplar: 2:49pm On May 11, 2024 |
Currency conversion ratio is of little significance when you consider that currencies can be adjusted.
For example, the Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) is the strongest currency in the world with a single Kuwaiti dinar buying $3.25 US dollars (or, put another way, one US dollar equals 0.31 Kuwaiti dinars) but can the Kuwaiti economy measure against USA or other advanced economies? As a matter of fact, kuwaiti dinar was adjusted by taking away three zeros to make it the world's strongest. That's something anyone can do and become the worlds strongest currency but not necessarily the world strongest economy.
Money is a just a metric system that can change based on goods and service backing it or can be recalibrated to ease management of money system. |

nairalanda1: I won't pay you below your production price if you were selling things you made. I will pay you at full price, so that you can make a profit, and use that profit to expand your business. It is not exploitaiton, it is economic sense. Always reply to imaginative jinks. No one is forcing anyone to sell below production price. Govt buys from producer at profitable rate and sells at a loss to masses, better than going to stone a spirit in the desert with N90 Bn |
Politics › Re: Debt Service Gulps 70% Of Dollar Outflow In Q1 by CodeTemplar: 10:21am On May 11, 2024 |
nairalanda1: Yes, the subsidy is back.
The surprisng thing is now that debt service is eating 70% of our revenue. Before it was eating 90% as at August 2022, tinubu removed subsidy, it went down to 63%, now tinubu brought back subsidy it is 70% and rising.
The scary thing is that cost of producing fuel is going to push the petrol costs up.
The problem is, Nigerians want cheap things. God knows I wish it were possible, but the fact is people want to be paid, so prices go up. As does subsidy. I don't want cheap things I just want to be carried along in the wastage spree going on. If the devil cost us N90b to be stoned, I desire subsidy. |

omohayek: As corrupt as Nigeria is, the assumption that everything in the country can be explained on the basis of "corruption" is simply wrong. There is no need to resort to fact-free accusations of "looting" when there are simpler, well-documented explanations at hand. By far the biggest drain on the government's coffers is the petrol subsidy which is back in full force.
https://www.nairaland.com/8088289/tinubus-reinstated-fuel-subsidy-drain
Add in the huge cost of the electricity subsidies and it's no wonder this government has to borrow to merely stay afloat. spending N90Bn to stone devil proves that you are wrong. Add in what the states are giving them too and you see why the people will always deserve subsidy. Corruption is so huge,it will be illogical to remove subsidy and boldly retain corruption just because it is hard to prove. For example, almost all governors will emerge as billionaires after their tenure with no backing investment or venture. |

kazlaw2000: Floating of the Naira was the fatal blow, that messed up the entire economy. I really can't figure out why it was necessary. The president should have deliberated deeply and consulted widely before enacting economic policies. The economy to the country is just like the heart to the body. It's very delicate. You just don't tamper with it anyhow. floating the naira want so bad if you consider that a subsidized forex system meant subsidy of everything forex was being used for. From imports to stolen funds to net worth of top individuals, we were subsidising so many things by subsidising dollar and forex generally. It had to be floated as a false cost of imported goods was fuelling consumption of imported goods among other factors listed above. The issue is lack of preparation and a grossly mismanaged system that prioritizes political vanity. |

grandstar: Imagine you're earning 500k a month and your monthly expenses are 700k a month. You therefore have to borrow 200k to survive each month. You decide cut down costs taking public transport, you carry your lunch from home to your office and stop going to the beer parlour every night. By doing that, your monthly expenses now drop to 500k.
Now, 2 of your wives now come to meet you and asks that now there is an extra 200k- what would would you buy for them from it?
The oil subsidy removal will simply reduce the borrowing need of the government. If the budget deficit is 10tr and the government spends 6tr on the petrol subsidy, by eliminating it, the deficit drops to 4tr. There's nothing really like they'll steal the money. It simply reduces the size of the budget deficit. if the man can can still give N100k arms to beggars, why can't the wives demand something from an imaginary N200k savings. We spend N90 billion to go stone the devil,a spirit, in middle east.we are rich. |

When we were adopting our current cataclysmic and demonic structure decades ago, the assumption was that we have more than enough money and lacked ideas on how to spend it. If the money has dried up, let us restructure first. Reprioritize. Regress in wastage. No need crying when we still can afford N90 Billion to go an stone the devil in saudi Arabia. |
