9japride: The most baffling thing about those northern religious fanatics is that they can kill for their religion but when someone is causing serious damage in their society in terms of killing and kidnapping you hear them say 'we pray to God to help solve the situation' always praying but they never take any physical action in stopping such issues. But just a word concerning their religion that doesn't go down well with them, boom! They are ready to shade blood. Trust me ...it not even about northerners...this is the same characteristic of every unapologetic and conc Muslim... Irrespective of country.. Christians live under the same threat in Islamic countries as well.. Islam and terrorism are one and the same.. |

Spiff20: That's the problem. Those multi story buildings by the side are the problem of the flyover. It needs to breathe. It needs the space. It's a flyover for Pete's sake. Wike and Amaechi destroyed real estates to build flyovers, and compensated owners. Bring down those buildings or forget it, the state is not yet ready for a flyover. Why is the east so backward sef with the richest men in Nigeria? I completely agree... Igbo people will never generally agree to have their property demolished except govt agrees to pay a super inflated amount for the structure and the land as well.. I just feel like a 6 lane dualized road with traffic lights would have done more justice at a cheaper cost.. Or rather ..make the flyover it self a dualized single lane on each side..and the supporting roads by the sides be 2 lanes each.. |

She looks like someone's grandma or an elderly maid who's child or family are sponsored and catered for by the actual Baroness... with a deal that she'll act as the face of the Baroness during meetings or deals–all to protect the image and identity of the real baroness.
If you've seen the Queen of the south movie, you'll know what a baroness should look like.
She looks a bit too wrecked and wretched to be a baroness naaa. I thought money changes people especially their looks. Look at her naaa This is Nigeria... nothing dey shock us except you dont live in Nigeria or know anything about her |

If the 4 trillion ($8bn) used for fuel subsidy is added to our actual revenue...then debt servicing rate will be reduced significantly even though the amounts we spend to service debts remains the same ..

Stay smart Ndi igbo love who loves you With all due respect... You are not properly educated..that why you think purchasing power is a priority for investment...secondly business isn't necessarily about trading... Resources also come to play.. you think most south south state have high purchasing power...but why do you see oil and gas project there.. Southerners build bigger and better houses but most of Nigeria's capacity in cement production is in the north... Sierra Leone doesn't even have more purchasing power than kano Just say ur business is doing well in asaba, enugu and Anambra |

SweetVibe: Yar'Adua had a reason he revoke the sale of one of our refinary to Dangote returned it back to the government. He knew something we don't know Yar Adua knew nothing ...he was nothing but a fool and allowed emotions play him. Don't be cynical... Selling portharcourt refinery would have saved Nigerians alot of tears especially in forex .. Today we are spending 37% of out total forex reserves just to import only fuel and petrochemicals Obasanjo sold Obajana cement plant .note there was no single Factory there, gboko cement plant to dangote ...dangote gave contracts to Julius berger to expand the Obajana cement plant to become the largest cement plant in Africa...gboko cement plant alone now produces more cement than lafarge total capacity in it two plants in Ogun state... When Yar adua refused to sell the refineries and left it to die... Dangote went ahead to source for lands for a new refinery...Delta,ondo and Ogun state refused to sell lands to Dangote... What sensible thing did dey see.. Lagos state came to the rescue..and see what is happening in ibeju lekki...if Dangote goes back to request for lands in those state ...now tell me after they have seen what he is doing...will they reject him again?. Nigeria has 4 dead refineries with a combined capacity of 445,000ba/day... Yar adua refused to sell the plants to a potential buyer that can transform it...so now that Yar adua left the plants in government hands...ask urself .how are they performing today... Go to Abuja and see people struggling for fuel.. Airlines can no longer cope because of the high cost of A1 fuel caused by marketers who IMPORT the product Assuming Dangote decided to forget about investing in oil and gas...do you think Nigeria can fully build a new refinery on it own...even if u put peter obi as president.. The plant is nearly completion and some shitty western media wants to come and talk nonsense Black people are daft |

Raph82: That's a big problem, he should look deeply into that aspect of his conglomerate, if Dangote Group is well structured, his enterprise will run in his absence effectively. if Bill Gates should pass on today (God forbid), he already has a good structure on ground that will keep Microsoft running. Apple Inc is running effectively till today because Steve Jobs ensured he built a solid organizational structure before his demise. In fact by now, Dangote has no business sitting atop Dangote Group's board. Bill Gates was the chairman of Microsoft's board for a year, he resigned and left the job for capable hands. What Dangote needs is to build a strong, committed and loyal team into a solid organizational structure. And who are you to say that his company doesn't have a good structure.. |

Dangote = unhealthy monopoly.
Na only him and some selected few govt. dey give waiver for everything. What about forex, same thing. The refinery is coming up soon sha and I hope his company is able to match the hype around it so that we can have a little reprieve from this fuel subsidy issue but seriously, if the market is made plain open to everyone naija hustling spirit go don elevate plenty budding entrepreneurs. |

lexy2014: Thank u oh wise one for clearing the air on how dollar or forex is related to the discussion. The question now is who is in charge of forex in Nigeria?
Meanwhile u haven't answered this:
If u say that fuel subsidy is a fraud as declared by buhari in 2011, how come he is allowing that same fraud under the ministry which he supervises? How is it that u say NNPC doesn't have a choice in perpetrating this fraud? How's that possible? u are just too dumb.. no offence.. i have answered ur last question.. to prevent U and I from buying fuel above N400 ..bubu has to allow subsidies exist. CBN is in charge of forex.. it is technically not possible for the CBN to reverse the dollar rate... if more dollar are coming into the reserves. they would rather hold those figures pending when the dollar inflow drastically reduces..den dey use from their reserves to defend the naira..they only devalue the naira if what is in their reserves isnt enough or there are projections of low inflow..there are other minor reasons too.. on normal circumstances CBN isnt supposed to have any direct control over forex but floating the market has devastating economic consequences when global incidences like covid ,oil prices falling, global financial crises etc..and every commodity is affected nt just aviation fuel ..so tampering forex isnt an option for just a single commodity isnt an option only if magically we begin to receive 2x our normal forex inflows the only option is to introduce subsidy |

Since u say that I can only bash govt for forex, kindly explain how forex is connected to all this. Or aren't u a wiseman again? If u can buy fuel for N430 per litre.. dat fine but the vast majority cant...hence the fraud continues forex is what is used to import Aviation fuel.. the dollar rate ($1=N500) is reversed to nearly half it price or atmost N360. aviation fuel wont cost dat much despite the external factors but here u have a situation were over a few weeks running into months forex rate is $1=N490 few weeks/months ago the price of aviation was less than N600 at a forex rate of $1=N490 today it is nearly N700 still forex rate of $1=N490 dat should tell u the problem isnt within nigeria and bubu is to intervene den he will have to either subsidize aviation fuel or reduce the dollar exchange to naira.. |
