congratulations. . .so what has that taught us ?

It is not possible for Kenya to be more corrupt than Nigeria.

In Nigeria, corruption is the god that government worships; it is the state religion.
Politics / Re: Why Nigerians, Others Have Low Iqs —study by Cohomology: 7:20am On Jul 08, 2010
This may explain why we cry about the economy but promptly give chieftaincy titles and other awards to the very thieves that impoverished us. We must be very stu.pid indeed!

This is why 99% of our leaders embezzle money, thinking with their low IQ brains that they are saving the money for their great grand children, however, their kids, wives, nieces, mothers, fathers, nephews, brothers and sisters die from the bad roads, poor medical facilities, lack of security etc. caused by their unrestrained looting of the treasury. They must be very stu.pid indeed!

This is not a racial issue, but a geographical one, since the paper points to the higher prevalence of diseases in hot climes - a fact.

This truly explains the impossible stupidity on finds everywhere in Nigeria!

Excellent study!

You have the name of the writer in the article; you can take it up with the writer. What is it you don't believe?

"As in the murder of Saro Wiwa,
some obnoxious character like Emeka Odumegu Ojukwu went on international tour to
explain why Ken deserves to die. In accordance to Ojukwu, Ken deserves to die because
he (Ken) organized resistance against biafra during the war."

Why would the Ikemba go on international tour to explain why someone whose fate was outside his (Ojukwu's) hands deserved to die?

I was in Nigeria when Saro-Wiwa was hanged. He was killed on the same day Nigeria beat Uzbekistan 1-0 at the National Stadium Suru-lere, and I attended that match, live! I followed the news keenly then, and I do not recall any published news about the Ikemba traveling abroad, before or after Saro-Wiwa's execution, with the sole purpose of explaining to the international community why Saro-Wiwa deserved to be hanged.

That writer seemed vexed by other issues and may have interpreted a private travel abroad by the Ikemba as a campaign of death for Saro-Wiwa. Ridiculous at best!

He might have said it more than once. That he said it to one group does not preclude him from saying it to Saro Wiwa. At least you accept that Ojukwu was at the execution. With regards to whether he enjoyed it or not, see the article below.

When I cry for help my neighbors offer no assistance, come to think of it, my neighbors
enjoy the spoil of this cold sometime hot brutal war. As in the murder of Saro Wiwa,
some obnoxious character like Emeka Odumegu Ojukwu went on international tour to
explain why Ken deserves to die. In accordance to Ojukwu, Ken deserves to die because
he (Ken) organized resistance against biafra during the war. Can you see the irony; who
deserves to die from the civil war than Ikemba himself? This nation calls me insignificant
and yet what they steal from me is so significant that it identifies her as wealthy. How
long will this ungodliness continue? Every time a child of mine protest the uncivilized
barbaric display of aggression by the power that be; with maximum intoxication sets up a
judicial murder camp to snatch life out of him. Sometimes hoping to deter protest, she
denies us the right to mourn and bury our martyrs. I can list the shameless acts of this
nation on end, but doing so will be like the story of Frederick Douglas by Douglas himself.
That in listening to the whole story of Douglas, every black man will be fired up in rage
and attack any white man they see to redress issues of racism. It is not the fear of such
or similar action that makes me not to continue numbering the ills, but lack of space and
boredom. So far, one thing is clear that no one of my neighbors give a hood what my
plights are. How clear can that message get when I have waited patiently for them to
come to my aid to no avail. I am not begging anybody to fight my fights; I only express a
reasonable expectation of a good neighbor. My only regret is that I waited for over fortysemi
years to know that good neighbor is a hoax, dne (does not exist).

Katsumoto,

This is news to me, however, do you have any evidence, no matter how remote, that Ojukwu was at the execution? Even a reference to a specific Nigerian magazine that stated it with you posting any link is enough. I can use my resources to comb the archives, get the hard copy of the magazine or newspaper and post an image file of your reference.

Please supply some evidence. Thank you.

@jidobaba-thanx, that shows that most guys here are making me pay for the sins of some other girls!!! shocked Oh well, what can I do? Guess I brought it on myself! smiley

@Cohomology-Well, I've always known him for a long time. But we started going out about 2 years now.
We're both educated,
Since graduating, he started doing business. But the business wasn't making too much of a headway and so he decided to get a stable job, then he got the job late last year.

I got a job that wasn't too bad, but I had to resign because of some unethical stuffs going on. Since then, am just managin a very low-income job for now.

About the complaints, he didnt have any serious complaints about me! Except sometimes, when we're going out-He'd tell me to let my hair down for a change or just some other little suggestion!

But I don't really want to go indepth with the answers. Because, u neva know who might be reading that will figure out who u r. Thanx.

lola-luv,

In your initial post you said the guy got a very good "international job" or something like that.

Well, the problem may be that he feels both of you are not on the same level intellectually or mentally or ambitious-wise.

He may have been talking to you about the need to develop yourself academically/mentally/intellectually etc. and you may have made fun of him while he was doing his one-man business and managing; maybe asking him where all that has taken him. Without much to show, he just kept quiet but still talked to you about being more independent and more ambitious.

Now that he has landed that very good international job, he's still telling you the same thing but no more in plain words but by actions you find very uncomfortable.

He probably feels your level of motivation for serious self-development is a tad too low for him to deal with and that your resistance to moving in the direction he has been prodding will not help the relationship long term.

My advise to you is this: listen to him about the whole "developing yourself" talk and start taking it seriously. Start doing those things about your self-development he has been talking about.
Politics / Re: 5 Politicians You'll Kill, If You Had The Power! by Cohomology: 7:53pm On Jul 07, 2010
Not interested in killing any of those farts, but those I'll send to Kiri-kiri Maximum Security Prison for 25 years to life with no possibility of early parole are more than 50,000. The Kiri-kiri facility will have to be quadrupled in size and the security will be managed by a combined team of private and public services:

1. ALL employers in the federal and state ministries from assistant director-general up will be jailed variously anywhere from 10 years to 25 years to life.

2. 99% of ALL the politicians holding positions from local government chairmen to state cabinet members to governors, ministers, advisers, senators, house of reps members, their various advisers, etc. will be jailed for 25 years to life. The most egregious offenders will get life in prison, with hard labor and zero chance of any parole, e.g. Gbenga Daniels of Ogun State, Christopher Alao-Akala of Oyo State and Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State.

3. 99% of ALL top executives in every government parastatal from:
* NNPC (100% of top executives here will be jailed for life with hard labor and zero chance of parole!)
* PHCN (90% of top executives will be jailed)
* Nigerian Police Force (the entire NPF will be dismissed and jailed in phases)
* Nigerian Postal Service (95% of top management will be jailed)
* Nigerian Customs Service (100% of the high ranking officers will be jailed for life with no possibility of parole)
* Nigerian Immigration Service (95% of the high ranking officers will be jailed 25 years to life - no early parole)
* Nigerian Ports Authority (90% of top executives will be jailed immediately for 25 years to life - no early parole)
* For the rest of the federal and state parastatals, the minimum will be: 90% of the top executives/high-ranking officers jailed for 25 years to life.

4. Work with all the local and international banks and with PriceWaterHouseCoopers to investigate their income to asset ratio and freeze all suspicious accounts so as to repatriate every penny stolen back to Nigeria. Experts in forensic accounting and money laundering will be hired to work with government accountants to fish out all the stolen money by these scoundrels.
Politics / Re: Kenyans are less corrupt than Nigerians by Cohomology: 7:30pm On Jul 07, 2010
I agree with the OP.

It's hard for me to imagine a country more financially corrupt than Nigeria.

In Nigeria, bribery and embezzlement are so entrenched in the society that even so-called men of God praise the thieves and give them front row in their churches and mosques.

If Kenya sustains the level of corruption in Nigeria for six months, it will explode in unimaginable violence.

Nigeria's substantial oil revenue, something Kenya doesn't have, cushions the damaging effect of the ultra-high level of corruption in the most corrupt government humanity can devise.

Verdict: Nigeria is definitely more corrupt than Kenya!

lola-luv,

Some questions for you:

1. How long have you been dating this guy?
2. Are you employed? In what sector of the economy?
3. What is your educational level? What field/course/profession?
4. What is his educational level? What field/course/profession?
5. Finally, is there anything he has been complaining about concerning you for a some time, that you think has not been addressed? Think hard and well about this question.

Supply the answers then I'll tell you what went wrong, and probably how to handle the situation. Though, you may have figured it out yourself.

The barbaric wing of Islam is again showing its ugly head. Senseless Sharia has no place in any civilized existence. It's a shame that Iranians are still being held hostage by a stone-age judicial system designed by the misogynists, xenophobes, oppressors and tyrants disguised as respectable clan heads that hijacked Islam in her infancy. Unfortunately, the world must continue to witness the shameless display of a disgusting form of jurisprudence that elevates cold-blooded senseless murderous carnage to a religious rite.

Politics / Re: The Brain And Scorching Sun by Cohomology: 12:10pm On Jul 02, 2010
@redsun,

You have a point but it's a bit more complex than you may think. See http://pvhramani./2010/03/02/why-are-we-in-the-tropics-underdeveloped-and-poor/.

For a more balanced and detailed theory read Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies.

I've always been troubled by the imbalance in world development, but after reading the above book, it was clear to me. Nobody has done a better job than Prof. Diamond on this topic!

Following your view, I think the sun's effect on the brain is accumulated over many generations and the interaction of the sun and other factors that exist in the tropical belt (some of them cause by the sun, e.g. deserts) creates a complex picture of how development is affected by the sun's heat.

By and large I agree with the theme of your submission.

There is no hope for that unfortunate country called Nigeria unless "we" (don't know if that exists though) come together to crush the gang of thieves in Abuja.

I've been saying and would continue to say; if all muslims were like Yoruba muslims, If my muslim brothers in the north can be like Yoruba muslims, Nigeria would've been 40% more of a nation. Coming from the North and witnessing things first hand, Yoruba muslims are the true muslims ( since Islam is often called a religion of peace) and I personally respect them so much! I always want to listen to them. Fashola is a product of that society and I'm not surprised to say the least!

True talk my brother.

Among Yoruba Muslims, we still have some the loony Sharia-loving bloodthirsty kill-the-infidels crackpots, however, the majority sane Muslims do a good job in keeping the jihadist types in check.

If ALL Muslims could be like Fashola, the average lifespan for humans will increase!

Lol, First of all, compare like with like.  With respect, what you are doing is promoting backwardness. So you couldn't find leaders from the 20th or 21st century. The fact that you had to go to the 16th and 17th century speaks volumes.

With respect, you really need to brush up on your history - Kamal Ataturk ruled Turkey in the 20th century.

Also, Nigeria's level of development is comparable to Oliver Cromwell's England.
Politics / Re: Goodluck-jonathan-g8-observer-storms-canada-with-140-delegates by Cohomology: 7:11pm On Jun 26, 2010
SapeleGuy:

Buhari and Co didn't mean well for the country. I heard the same sentiment about Murtala Mohammed, all of them were after their own interest either financially or egotistically.

A soldier who seizes power from a democratically elected government can never have my support. When you look at the owners of oil blocks today are they not Generals? So what corruption did they come to tackle?

The only thing common between Murtala Mohammed and Muhammadu Buhari is the Mohammed/Muhammadu in their names.

While Murtala Mohammed was a genocidal mass murderer who took out his defeat at Abagana on poor villagers in then mid-Western Nigeria, Buhari and Idiagbon really did care about Nigeria and were excellent statesmen.

Many military rulers, who seized power from civilians have ruled well and led their nations to greatness. Examples: George Washington - rebel leader who seized control from the civilian King George of England; Kamal Ataturk of Turkey was another great military leader; Oliver Cromwell of England is another super example.

Abeg, a military leader can also be a great national leader.

You and I know that a leader like Buhari actually meant well for Nigeria more than say Awo or Ojukwu. But guess who is more revered in Nigeria today?

I would not (and I don't expect Jonathan to undecided) risk my life for Nigeria.

All those who are opposing him now would calm down once he throws oil blocks at them, even the most hardened northern opposition.

Nigeria is irreparably rotten at the core (center).

As far as I'm concerned, Nigeria's best days were between December 31st 1983 and August 27, 1985.

Yes, some of the tactics employed by the Buhari/Idiagbon regime were extreme (e.g., death penalty for drug traffickers), however, they performed excellently as leaders. Not the barawos we're all clapping for because we want to be in their good books.

After them came IBB, hardcore thief! From then on it has been one goat to another.

I just hope Jonathan doesn't turn out to be a goat, I'm keeping my toes crossed - my fingers are tired of being crossed abeg.
