Reason is cause it’s all a scam.

Back then they scammed some people for votes, before technology came into being they told them they will build a seaport at oguta. The people actually believed they are building a seaport and ships will soon be coming to oguta, they built something that seemed like a sea port and all of them jubilated infact the news was all over imo and the east that a seaport has been built at oguta. People went to see it. Infact the person who initiated the idea became a hero and saviour.

But till this day no ship has ever been seen there.

Nigerians shouldn’t be scammed this easily, anytime someone tells u anything just open google earth and check

During the colonial era when companies like John holt existed, trade activities go on through that river to porthacourt and vice versa

The East has been called landlocked by ignorant people who don't understand the geography of the East. There are at least four major rivers that have direct channel to the sea, only needing some dregding to make it navigable to vessels. Imo River, Omambala River and Orashi River can be dregded up to become navigable and join the Atlantic Ocean. Suez Canal was even a dry land before it was dregded down to the Ocean to create a seaway corridor and one of the busiest channels. It is very very possible in the East that has plenty rivers that empty into the Atlantic Ocean.

Dredging of a river is not the problem where would d water come from?

Sometimes they dredge a river to reduce flooding, dredging a river won’t change the quantity of water that flows through it, it only makes the river deeper.

Suez Canal isn’t the same asin Suez Canal 2 seas were connected to each other. I repeat 2 seas, same thing happened at Panama Canal where 2 oceans were connected to each other.

Using a bolt or Uber is far more safer than using all these airport taxis or public taxis in general.

If Uber or bolt carry you, ur where shouts and that of the driver can easily be traced incase something happens to any of u along the way.
There has been cases where people take taxi even if it’s a drop and the taxi drivers take you somewhere and rob u or even rapes u.
With bolt or Uber if u want to go for a journey u know how much to expect, but if u use public taxi they want to rip u off once they observe you are new or not familiar with the route; 10minutes journey that they are supposed to charge max #1000 for, while Uber charges max #1500, once u look like u don’t know the place or the price they will tell u #5000 most people don’t price so they pay upfront, while people who price end up paying between #3500 and #4000.
