Don't touch that cucumber! Islamic cleric bans women from touching 'penis-shaped' foods in case it arouses them An Islamic cleric living in Europe has said that women should not be close to bananas or cucumbers, in order to avoid any 'sexual thoughts'. The unnamed sheikh was quoted by el-Sawsana news saying that if women wish to eat these food items, a third party, preferably a male relative, should cut the items into small pieces and serve. The cleric said that these fruits and vegetables 'resemble the male penis' and could arouse women or 'make them think of sex,' in a story reported on Egyptian news website Bikya Masr. He also added carrots and courgette to the list of forbidden foods for women. The sheikh was asked how to 'control' women when they are out shopping for groceries and if holding these items at the market would be bad for them. The carrot should also join the forbidden list of foods for women to touch The cleric answered saying this matter is between them and God. Answering another question about what to do if women in the family like these foods, the sheikh advised the interviewer to take the food and cut it for them in a hidden place so they cannot see it. The opinion has stirred a storm of anger among Muslims online, with hundreds mocking the cleric. One reader said that these religious 'leaders' give Islam 'a bad name' and another saying he should quit his post immediately. Another dismissed the sheikh as merely a publicity seeker. No official responses from Islamic scholars have been made on the statements as yet. Hi Nairalanders, I need your advice on something very important to my life. Im 20 years old, from a struggling family. I finished school at 16 and until now I never had a tetiary education, cause of financial reasons and the fact that I'm really interested in Film Production Industry, which has been my passion from day 1. It took so long for me to decide if I had to study abroad (as there are no serious film schools here), or just have a common degree. However I made up my mind to start school this year. But I'm at cross roads right now. And this is why I need your help, every sane person here on NL. I have average financial resources to take through 2years of University without hassle. However, I have serious plans to start a very promising business (I guess) with it. But due to pressure and the fact that my junior brother just got into school, I decided to give it a try and bone my business idea. Mind you, I really want to go to school. But things are now not really as I expected. I already decided to wait till next year, hoping my business idea might have bloomed to something better, and I had plans to go learn Graphics Design and DJing too, while I run my business and prepare to school next year. But, I got people screaming im to old to stay at home that I should go to school. No one is paying for my fees, and sort. I have to cater for myself, which has to be from the money I have planned to start stuff with. Well I applied to a private institution which is a bit costly but the good thing about it, I guess, is that you only have to pay you fees when the exams are about to begin. I've been here for a while and exams are around the corner but I do not feel like a student. I feel like I'm not ready for this and I should try my luck with my business idea. If it doesn't work out. I still have Graphics Design and Djing to be proud of. I have a big voice at the back of my mind screaming like bullshit and telling me to pause schooling till next year. If my business works out, fine I could sponsor myself without hassle and enroll to a school much better. But If I should continue myself here, I'll have to drop out 2nd year. Definitely. Is this proper? What should I do guys? |

TCTLLS [which means To Cut The Long Lies Short] The average honest, sane Nigerian is aware that GEJ does not have what it takes to re-strategize Nigeria the way that will favor the masses. That's brings us to the grim possibility that he is only there to re-strategize his bank account and et ce te ra. I personally no longer believe in his government, Nigeria is currently too hot to handle which leaves us with no other options than these steps, if we intend to win back our rights as human beings and Nigerians in General 1 - Divide Nigeria [ I don't want to talk much about that] 2 - Call back our colonial masters to re-rule us for 10YEARS [then we will have to re-gain our independence, shebi?]\ 3 - You know it yourself, but I will not say it first. Comments that support and oppose are welcomed! |
