A man to emulate and trust with Leadership not a monopolist.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A MAN LIKE THIS (GODWIN MMADUKA)

By Chike Micheal Ekwealor.

Since I was born and in all the history books I have read, I have never seen any philanthropist as good as this Igbo Man.

Umuchukwu in Orumba south Local Government Area of Anambra State, formerly known as Nkerefi was hitherto known as one of the backward and remote communities in the state as it was totally bereft of any meaningful government attention, even to the extent that 90 percent of Anambrarians (including me) have never heard about the community name,.

Because of the growing poverty and absence of opportunities, the community was a haven for criminality which climaxed with the kidnap of the community’s traditional ruler, Igwe Michael Ukaegbu, by some unknown persons.

But all these negative attributes were changed by the emergence of one of their illustrious sons into the scene, Dr. Godwin Maduka, a United States of America (USA) based medical practitioner, who through his foundation he set up 15 years ago, brought projects to the community and compelled the former Governor of the State, Mr. Peter Obi, to construct two roads connecting Umuchukwu and other neighbouring communities.

But the development of the community started with re-christening of Nkerefi to Umuchukwu after a referendum conducted by the administration of Obi.

When Dr. Maduka’s foundation visited the then Governor at Government House Awka, with the pathetic story of the deplorable state of their roads in Umuchukwu, they had elected to bear the 50 percent cost of the construction of the roads.

This moved Obi who visited the community himself and was overwhelmed by what he saw and then promised that the Anambra State Government will take over the responsibility of those roads.

Below are the pictures of the great man have done. Note : so many other projects especially the 100 Bungalows scattered all over the village for the poor Widows are not included in the pictures.

He built
1) two churches, one each for the Anglicans and Catholics.
(2) built Trinity Hospital and Maternity.
(3) over 100 standard houses for widows and the poor in the area.
(4) Built Immaculate Conception International College 1 and 2 , with buses donated to them.
(5) he built a police station for security.
(6) he built a magistrate court.
(7) a standard market called (Afor Market), .
(cool built barracks for the Civil Defense staff,
(9) built two monasteries for churches.
(10) built community centre( Community Hall and his own Village Hall)...
(11) built, post office.
(12) built a state high court.
(13) provided transformers to boost electricity in the community.
(14) built mighty edifices for primary and secondary schools.
(15) built a palace for the monarch, civic centre,.
(16) built houses for clerics of Catholic and Anglican churches, among others.
(17) built Five star hotel known as Lion of Africa resort.

(18) the 15 storey tall building is part of the World class International standard Hospital / Health research institute ( which will serve as the destination of all health matters in Africa, since it will be the biggest and the best of it kind in African soil).

This will serve as shame to the Federal Government and some state Government that cannot pay salaries, because of decline in oil price.

He did all these without the oil money.

And to those Billionaires who buys private jets and allow their people to come beg them two spoon of Rice every morning.

Remember he(Godwin Mmaduka) is not the Richest man in Africa, but he is the richest in Heart.

An overly excited native was quick to state, “today, there is no more thatched house in the community. Maduka has replaced every thatched house in the area with three or four bedroom bungalows.

About 100 of such buildings were rebuilt. They belong to the indigent natives, especially widows. All such buildings carry green roofing aluminium zincs for easy identification.

But he did not stop there; to effectively battle criminality in Umuchukwu, Dr. Maduka has equally not only built four two-storey buildings for police stations, but complemented it with a bungalow as officers’ mess and another structure to serve as operational base for the men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) which he donated to the Nigeria Police. He also built headquarters for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

He has also sponsored hundreds of students from his community and have also helped to get them job. He built Vocational center for those who want to learn handwork.

He vowed to make his community look better than Las Vegas, before he will finally come home to settle.

My prayer is that Igbo people should learn from this man and come back to invest, let everyone make his community And state his own Last Vegas.

I also pray that God will bless me like this man and if I did not use it to put smiles on people faces, then he should make me poorest man..

His name is Dr Godwin Mmaduka, MD / CEO Las Vegas

ibson99:
With the current economic realities in which majority of states in the country cant pay salaries, perhaps its past time we considered a new a new strategy: put a hardcore capitalist at the helm of affairs. And who better than the countries biggest capitalist! Here are five reasons why Aliko Dangote should be Nigeria’s next president.

1. Efficiency: Some of the country’s biggest challenges include corruption and bureaucracy. For a man who turned a small trading firm he founded in 1977 into a multi-trillion naira conglomerate, managing one of the most bureaucratic nations in the world should be an interesting challenge.

2. Popularity: any Nigerian home or abroad who has access to any form of media be it radio, TV or the internet will most likely know who Aliko Dangote is. With that sort of popularity selling him as a presidential candidate would be easy for any political party.

3. Spotless: in a country where almost every popular person has one corruption scandal or the other, the man has managed to keep a image clean. In fact, the only scandal he almost had was when a certain Miss Sylvia Nduka was rumored to be his girlfriend. An allegation in which both he and the lady in question denied.

4. Business minded: no disrespect to president Buhari, but he needs to upgrade his financial intelligence. To spend more money, you have to first diversify your income stream. The school feeding program, 5000naira for the poor amongst other liabilities without having a long term financial sustainability plan for these programs will end up doing more harm than good.

5. There is no one else: the main opposition party, the PDP is struggling with internal crisis. It doesn’t look like they will be producing a president anytime soon. The ruling APC for now doesn’t seem to have any electable presidential material. A presidential material with popularity and the political muscle to unite the country, and most importantly one with no corruption scandal seems to be lacking in the country right now.

Nigeria is the best place for all year mechanised farming – Arewa Union

Mr Nimram Longs, the President of Arewa Union in South Africa, says Nigeria remains a favourable destination for all year mechanised farming.

Longs told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Johannesburg on Sunday that the country’s vast potentials included its good weather and arable land.

He urged the Federal government to put in place policies that would boost agriculture in the country.

“ Agriculture can be the mainstay of the nation`s economy. Government should play a vital role in this regard.

“ Government can borrow from the experiences of China, South Africa and other countries with huge agricultural potentials.
“Nigeria has abundant arable land that can be used 12 months a year.

“ Nigeria has the potential to use good weather and soil for agriculture,” he said.

Longs called on government to identify areas of the country that could grow rice, grains, yam as well as plantain and encourage rural farmers to focus on them.

He also said universities of agriculture in the country should be encouraged to go into large scale farming through setting up of plantations for commercial use and practicals.

“ Government should educate the people to go back to agriculture. Field officers should be sent to the rural areas to assist famers to boost agricultural production.

“ I believe that the government can also buy mechanised farming implements and equipment for large scale agricultural ventures, ” Longs said. (NAN)

Let's be sincere for once.. the three ministeries under Fashola is a huge burden on his shoulders, and he would do himself a great deal of favor to relinquish two of it and concentrate on the most important job which is POWER.

POWER supply has become a nightmare under Fashola's watch and something drastic has to be done and done fast... this the worst It has ever been.. he seems to be biting more than he can chew and humility and forthrightness demand he focuse on power.

one major decision he has clearly gotten wrong is that of deciding not to build new power plants but instead concentrate on completing existing once... who does that?

every part of Nigeria should be a" construction site " for building of power plants..because if even if you complete existing plants, we still won't have enough, to why not start new once and increase supervision?
The three ministeries is all about settlement to his election contributions not to perform mark my word.

This hot info is copied to you as received by me. Happy reading Latest on Buhari's trip to London!

For the record, Buhari is not coming to London for ear infection treatment but for a secret negotiation meeting with the Niger Delta Avengers

An insider who is privy to the behind the scene arrangement on how to stop the further threat of the Avengers to oil installations in the region says Buhari will be in London to meet with Jonathan and the representatives of the British government funding truce to the impasse.

It would be recalled that Jonathan was briefly in Nigeria 4 days ago and met with the President in his office before jetting out again, back to London. A day after that, Buhari met Obasanjo to seek his advice on the crisis in Niger Delta. The Duo, Obasanjo and Jonathan advised Buhari to meet with the agitators in a neutral place away from the media - prompting the London trip.

According to my source, the Intel at the government's disposal on the Niger Delta Avengers revealed their connection to two Arabian oil producing countries who are said to be angry with Buhari's government for treating the Shiites as nothing and the continuous detention without trial of its leader, Zakzakky.

Also, the weapons and technology at these guys disposal is not something a serious government should take lightly. There are speculation that they also have connection to the North Korean government.

Nigeria is currently bleeding seriously because of the activities of the Avengers, my source told me that some of the boys behind the Avenger will be arriving London tomorrow on the invitation of the British government to be part of the peace process.

Obasanjo and some other south south leaders are expected to join the meeting in London anytime from tomorrow as well. All of these will be away from the media. But you will see the pointer as the week unfolds!

President Buhari is not in London because of ear infection, he is here for something more serious!

You read it from here first!

$2bn Chinese loan: Those criticizing Fayose’s letter are brazenly hypocritical – Olayinka

Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Chief Odigie Oyegun; Deputy National Chairman, Chief Segun Oni and others criticising Governor Ayodele Fayose’s letter to the Chinese government on the $2 billion loan sought by the federal government as brazenly hypocritical.
Fayose and Buhari
Fayose and Buhari

He described President Buhari’s non-signing of any direct loan agreement with the Chinese government during his visit as a vindication of the governor’s position, maintaining that “what Nigeria needs is the collaboration of the Government of China in the area of technology transfer, rather than granting loan that will be mismanaged under the guise of building infrastructure.”

In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Monday, the governor’s spokesperson said “people like Oyegun, Oni and Prof Itse Sagay lack moral rights to complain even if President Muhammadu Buhari is called whatever names, because they never complained when as a sitting president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan was called unprintable names by APC stalwarts and leaders.”

Olayinka, who said Governor Fayose only exercised his rights as a Nigerian, asked, “where were the likes of Oyegun, Oni, Prof Itse Sagay and others when APC promoted crude politics and anti-Nigeria posturing to an unprecedented level when Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was in power?”

He said, “It is on record that APC wrote to the United States of America not to sell arms to Nigeria, reported the country to the European Union, United Nations and went to the bizarre extent of reporting the then Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika, to the International Criminal Court (ICC), not for committing the kind of genocide committed against the Shiite Muslims in Zaria and Agatus in Benue, but for killing Boko Haram insurgents.

“On one occasion, a certain APC stalwart insinuated that Jonathan’s visit to Chad was to plan further attacks on the North, tweeting that; ‘Boko Haram: Jonathan visits Chadian President Idris Deby for the second time in two months, to plan further attacks?’

“It is also on record that instead of lending his voice to the federal government efforts to dislodge Boko Haram insurgents, President Buhari opted to describe the clampdown on Boko Haram as injustice against the North. He went on to accuse the government of killing and destroying houses of Boko Haram insurgents while the Niger Delta militants were given special treatment by the government.

“Even when Oni was Ekiti State Governor as a PDP member, Action Congress (AC) as APC was then, wrote against his government move to obtain a N5 billion loan. Isn’t it then funny that because he is now in APC, the same Oni is now against Governor Fayose doing the same thing done against him by the APC elements in Ekiti State?

“Isn’t it also funny that in Oyegun, Oni, Sagay, others, political dictionary of hypocrisy, it was right for APC stalwart to have reported the federal government to ICC but wrong for Fayose to have written to the Chinese government on the federal government’s plan to mortgage the future of Nigeria and its people?”

The governor’s spokesperson said since the federal government claimed it has recovered and still recovering trillions of Naira allegedly looted from the treasury, there was no need to borrow money from anywhere to finance the 2016 Budget.

“With the $200 billion they claimed is coming from Dubai, $700 million raw cash they said was found in Diezani Alison Madueke’s house, N3 trillion said to have been saved from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) and N4.5 trillion the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) said it will generate this year, what then is the rationale behind the federal government seeking any loan?” Olayinka

Great Nigerians. ...It is sad to report on the Death of yet another Nigerian in South Africa. Murdered by Corrupt police officers who snuffed out the life from him during a routine stop and search operation.

A Nigerian National Mr Daniel Chinedu Timothy, Passport no: A02674000 with DOB:12 June 1982 was murdered this morning in Kempton Park in Kempton Park on the East Rand area of Johannesburg, South Africa, he was walking on his own and was accosted by the members of the police on West Street and on seeing them he bolted away, they gave chaser on the suspicion that he might have some illegal substances on him, this however was never proven, according to eye witness accounts that were rendered during our meeting with Police top brass in kempton park, the deceased was picked up and thrown in the back of a police car and was being punched by a policeman who covered his head with a black plastic bag during the process.

The Eye witness came closer and was yelled upon to move away, he persisted and asked the policemen why the deceased was being beaten and not taken to a police station, the policemen told him to "make a plan" and give them R5000 to secure his release. On hearing this, the eye witness started asking what kind of business was transpiring between the policemen and the victim. When the policemen wanted to push the now unresponsive victim out of their car, they stopped the policemen from driving off by blocking the road and lots of passers-by had started gathering wondering what was going on.

They called an ambulance and when the paramedics got to the deceased, thery pronounced him dead, and this enraged the crowd, who called for the members of the flying squad to come arrest the crooked policemen, this in turn led to numerous calls being made for back up to control the now large crowd of Nigerians that had gathered to excpress their anger and disgust at the spate of police killings that had been happening since last year.

The Nigerian Union was called upon to intervene by our people and I got a call to come assist with our executives and we got there to assist with making sure the murdered Nigerian got justice. We arrived the crime scene and had meetings with the police command structure. It was being "alleged" that the deceased had ingested drugs he had on him but that still needs to be proven via autopsy and we also requested that the deceased's close relativbes be given the permission to conduct an independent autopsy also to serve as a second opinion, and if this request is not granted, they can seek this through a legal representative of their choice.

The case has been handed over to IPID (Independent Police Investigative Directorate) that investigates police misconduct in South Africa and we have been given the contacts of key persons that we need to be taslking to as this investigation proceeds so that we keep our eye on the ball. We have also gotten the contacts of the deceased relatives and have duly informed them of the tragedy.

We have seen too many cases of excessive force and extra judicial killings by corrupt police officers who paint the rest of our hardworking police officers in bad light. If he broke the law, arrest him...NOT MURDER HIM!!

We will keep on fighting for the voiceless and the oppressed. ..this is who we are...this is what we do!!
