Politics / Re: Presidency Moves To Repair Apapa Road by collynzo2(m): 10:32am On Jul 18, 2014
ilugunboy:

I work in Apapa and so I have a fair idea of the issues involved.

Majority of the tankers that heads into Apapa don't just come to park there......they are either waiting to position at the loading bay or queuing along the routes to jetties.

On the other hand...the returning container trucks will queue to enter the ports due to lack of enough handling equipments in the ports..

Like I wrote, it's still boils down to goverment failure and insensitivity to the plight of the people of Apapa...this problem didn't just surface suddenly..it's has been there..only that the rainy season exacerbated the whole mess in Apapa as a result of government failure to maintain infrastures in and around the two ports.

My point is...stop focusing mainly on the truck and tanker drivers...the spotlight should be on government of Nigeria.
Ok if you say so.
I believe our listening President will also resolve the underlying issues while working on the road.

ilugunboy:

I don't know if it's true or not..what is abundantly clear is that I failed to see the purpose of the comparison.....the two lines of businesses he is comparing operates different business models and different logistics...

While passenger transport business waits for their passengers to come and meet them...the haulage transporters have to go and pick up consignments.

It's all about systemic failure of governance....they should stop heaping the whole blame on these haulage transporters ..they suffer losses too and not happy that they waste their lives..their trucks to needless accidents.
How does their going to pick up consignments relate to them packing by the roadside?
Besides it isn't about Apapa alone, trailer owners (mainly northerners) do the same from PH to Owerri to Aba (until recently) to Enugu to Onitsha to Warri everywhere, whether they are transporting onions or cows or dangote cement, they just love parking by the roadside and obstructing traffic flow.
Why can't they get parks of their own instead of using government roads as parks?

What do gain from being a bigot and tribal-warlord?

It's this kind of attitude that leaded to unfortunate events of 60s ( particularly the civil war )

Just have this in mind, that in war: all is fair.... cool

I'm seriously praying for you, blockus and madcow that God should heal of the hatred that had eaten deep into your souls cool
Do you have selective reading disorder?
Or you intentionally left the posts from your brothers that opened the door for this?
God hates hypocrites like you.

TribalEAST: instead of you to confess that you don't have a phone that is google enabled, you are here talking trash. Ok let me help you with a few links. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/06/oil-discovered-in-lagos/ www.punchng.com/business/energy/lagos-oil-discoveries-may-boost-reserve-by-856mboe/ m.allafrica.com/stories/201306280567.html/ or why do you dangote is building a refinery in lagos?
From your article which is one year old...
The discovery is subject to the authentication of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), which is expected in two weeks.
A top management source in the upstream unit of the regulatory agency, said: “As far as we are concerned, the discovery for now is very speculative. The side track will indicate whether the resource they have found is actually crude, and this verification takes about two weeks. Thereafter, the company will communicate the tracking result to us, after which we will certify the discovery.”
Can you now do another google search and tell me what the outcome of the verification exercise was?
You see why I said you will embarrass yourself?

Your brain interprets all discussions on this board into Hausa..Ibo or Yoruba...and GEJ vs opposition.

Off all the paragraphs in the article...the only one that caught your attention was the reference to Ekene Dilli Chuckwu..

Don't carry this attitude to offline relationship with non-Ibos....it will deny you of many opportunities.
Thanks for the advice bro, but deep down in your heart, you know what I said is true and part of the numerous problems bedevilling Nigeria.

Abagworo can you now see how your useless master Rochas Okorocha is failing as regards PH-Owerri road?
Less than a week after Fashola visited this road and criticised the FG something is about to be done on the road.
Rochas Okorocha na opposition for mouth, while others are using their opposition status to get jobs done in their states.
Foolish Rochas Okorocha is neither here nor there.

R u nt a Nigerian? Wia dos dt work in ds part of d country? And besides y r pple on Nasarawa stagin a protest? D protest has entered his 2nd day nw!
Wat dos dt protest means 2u? - it means dy want ds man in office
Who said people cannot be sponsored to protest in Nigeria? What is the number of people protesting compared to the total population of Nassarawa?
If impeachment of Governors can work, who said recalling of lawmakers cannot work if the people are serious about it?
Protesting is very foolish when there is a more serious but simple legal process to follow in showing the lawmakers your dismay. It is obvious that the protesters are either sponsored or/and in the overwhelming MINORITY.

If indeed the people of Nassarawa want the man to stay, they know want to do. They will go to their respective wards and recall the lawmakers involved in the impeachment process.
So stop foaming in the mounth and making declarations you don't have the power to effect.

This is not completely true. Unlike Igbo that stay out of the SE for months, an average northerner staying outside the north goes back home during planting season.
Liar! How many notherners even know what a farm is? Most of the farming starts and end in the middle belt.
The northerners in the east can stay for as long as 10 years without visiting the north while most Igbos return at least once in a year during christmas.
