Agriculture can reduce unemployment faster than oil.. Industries won't invest in a country where they can't easily get resources... Agriculture boosts chances of getting resources.
Are you serious? So how are the countries that import Agricultural products from African countries and process them into finished products faring when compared to the countries they import from?
Switzerland imports most of Ghana's and Ivory coast's cocoa for processing into several products, how are they faring when compared to those 2 countries? As for the employment aspect, by the time everybody is ivolved in agriculture and the prices of products crash as is already the case, many farmers sink deeper and deeper into poverty.

Problem with Agric is that everybody does it....which means price fluctuations that make oil price fluctuations look good by comparison.

Industries is a better answer....industries and innovation
Gbam!
Proceeds from primary Agriculture cannot build us power stations, bridges, world class roads and other infrastructures, unless we can set up industries where we process those agricultural output into finished products, in that case, it has gone from agriculture to manufacturing.
Countries that depend on the kind of ''produce and export'' agriculture many Nigerians are suggesting are dirt poor and survive on foreign aid.

Never forget there is much to crude oil than agriculture,u can't beat that fact, naija would only make it in tha agricultural sector if we could all engage in mechanized farming, coz d whole thing is also competitive.....
Don't mind them, I laugh when they mention agriculture all the time like it will lead us to some sort of eldorad. Prices of Agricultural products are also falling.
We need steady power and the industries that come with it.
Agriculture › Re: Agriculture Will Replace Crude Oil by Collynzo9: 9:04pm On Dec 02, 2014
Moving from a crude oil dependent nation to an Agriculture dependent nation is like moving from frying pan to fire, unfortunately that is what many people are ignorantlt suggesting.
What we need is a truly diversified economy where manufacturing and industries play a key role. The Agricultural sector should also be developed to make us food secure and also provide raw materials for industries.
If you want to know what an Agriculture dependent Nigeria will look like, there are a few African countries we can cite as examples and they aren't better off.
Moving from being dependent on crude oil to exporting unprocessed Agricultural products is not progress, it is retrogression.
What we need is serious industrualization.

They have suddenly become Atiku supporters,Kwankwaso converts and Rochas apostles all because of their morbid, rabid and saddist fear against the one and only Gen Muhammadu IbanujeGEJ Buhari
Why would anyone be afraid of Buhari who has never won an election in his over 70 years of existence?

I hope not.

All may not be well with the All Progressives
Congress, APC, at the moment as four of the
presidential aspirants of the party comprising: Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Rochas Okorocha and Sam Nda- Isaiah have petitioned the national leadership of the party, questioning the rationale behind the choice of Lagos for the December 11 APC National Convention. The four had met last week to review development in the party and the direction at which the party’s National Convention is headed. From the meeting, it was learnt that the aspirants feel that the choice of Lagos was to give Buhari an edge over other aspirants. They also kicked against the list of delegates from Lagos State. Buhari was the only one out of the aspirants who
refused to sign the petition. His co-contenders for the party’s ticket stipulated conditions on the way forward, the first of which was that any list of delegates from non-constitutionally recognized councils should be rejected. The second was that the national convention of the
party scheduled for December 10 and 11 be held in Benin City against Lagos or in the alternative, the date should be brought forward to the original date of December 7 and 8, and hold at the Eagle Square, Abuja. According to New Telegraph, the petition was submitted to the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie- Oyegun, on Saturday at his Asokoro, Abuja residence. Odigie-Oyegun
confirmed the receipt of the petition when the
newspaper sought his view on the issue last night. The party leadership, said to be worried by the dispositions of the aspirants, scheduled an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) for 7pm yesterday and another meeting for 9am today. From last night’s meeting, an informed source revealed that the party leadership has succumbed to the wishes of the presidential aspirants by moving the national convention to Benin City still on December 10 and 11.
According to the national chairman, the party
would do everything possible to satisfy the
presidential aspirants, stressing that, “We want to make sure that they are thoroughly satisfied in every way so that they would be satisfied at the convention. They have their representatives who were nominated into the Convention Planning Committee. We want to do everything to ensure that they are totally satisfied with the fairness and transparency of the convention. They said they are not happy with Lagos and we have moved to Benin.”

Both of them have no chance.
Looks like you guys haven't realised how popular APGA is in Imo. Martin Agbaso of APGA won in 2007 before he was cheated out, they voted APGA again in 2011 and resisted all attempts to rig, APGA will again in 2015.

That's why i said you need the support of at least two key regions to win any election. No region can vote itself in. And where will that 22 million vote go to now since the two party have merged? The SE and SS have made up their minds to vote for GEJ, the North for Buhari(Or any APC flag bearer). Then what of the Southwest? Their decision will greatly affect the outcome of the 2015 election, they are the deciding factor!
In your first post, you said the South west brought GEJ to power in 2011, you couldn't have been further away from the truth because their meagre 2.7 million votes was the lowest GEJ got anywhere, even lower than what he got in regions where he lost. If you deduct the 2.7 million from GEJ's 22 million and add to Buhari's 12 million, GEJ would still have won.
They are not any deciding factor.

Hahaha don't mind them.
That is how they keep regurgitating the ''we made Jonathan President'' rubbish whereas in reality, their meagre and insignificant 2.7 million votes was the lowest Jonathan got in any region even lower than what he got in the northern regions where he ''lost''.
Pack those 2.7 million votes to Buhari and deduct it from Jonathan's total, GEJ would have still won with 20 Million to 14.7 million.

Two terrorists were arrested on charges of
terrorism after plotting to kill officials in Missouri, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) said.

The FBI said that the two men who are members of the New Black Panther Party, were looking to buy supplies to make a homemade bomb. Brandon Orlando Muhammad Baldwin and 22- year-old Olajuwon Ali Davis, planned to kill St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch and Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson.

They also planned to bomb the famous Gateway Arch in downtown St. Louis. The men bought what they believed was a pipe bomb from undercover agents, but could not afford more bombs until their Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards gets refilled. The two men were charged with trying to buy explosives, which they planned to use during
protests in Ferguson. Both suspects pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.

True. The South West brought GEJ to power in 2011. SS and SE should show some respect, their votes alone cannot elect a president, Things may be different next year. You need the support of at least two key regions to win any election. The middle belt vote isn't sufficient enough and roughly split between GEJ and Buhari. Even the SS & GEJ stronghold gave him only a small vote back in 2011(The same size with about half the votes Buhari garner with little funding). The South West is the deciding factor in 2015 election.
Can SW votes alone bring anyone into power?
How do you guys reason?
Jonathan got a total of 2.7 million votes from the south west in 2011, he got 4.8 million in the south east and 6.6 mil in the south south.
So how exactly did the south west bring him into power with 2.7 million out of 22 million?
The way you people repeat lies confidently is stunning.
