EducationRe: Absence Of Life Forms On All Planets Close To Earth, Should We Be Worried? by colonelwealth(m):
royalamour:
So I'm here thinking about these stuffs.

From planet Mars to Mercury, Venus all the way to Jupiter except the Earth, all seems to be in ruin or something.

I have been thinking and researching about what could have happened to the beings that once inhabited these places.

Should we (Earthlings) not be concerned about the kind of destruction/apocalypse that befell these places?

Was the Earth attacked too and somehow few survivors repopulated Earth and the government decided to keep these information
in order not cause panic?

Is the Armageddon returning?

Hi Seun, what do you think?

Your topic is an interesting read and very thought provoking.
Kudos to everyone that contributed their thoughts on this.

These are the kinds of topics needed on Nairaland.

Myself, I have so many thoughts too on this same matter.

SportsRe: Augustine Eguavoen Did A Fine Job As Super Eagles Coach (Unpopular Opinion) by colonelwealth(m): 1:25pm On Nov 21, 2022
SmartyPants:
By now it is no news to any Nigerian sports fan, that Augustin Eguavoen and his entire team have been relieved of their duties at the helm of affairs of the Nigerian National team.

Most Nigerians are happy with this development, with some claiming that his immediate predecessor, Gernot Rohr would have delivered better results. However, a simple analysis of events will clearly demonstrate that Eguavoen did a fine enough job given the circumstances.

I will attempt to undertake this analysis by demonstrating, first that Eguavoen has a better record than one might realize, and secondly by comparing the performance of his Super Eagles with that of Afcon winners, Senegal, and runners-up Egypt.

When Gernot Rohr was sacked a few weeks to the Afcon, knowledgeable sportspersons decried the move, citing the difficulty any new coach would face in setting up the team to play to his own patterns. In analyzing Eguavoen, therefore, it must first be understood that the new boss was operating under extreme pressure, with little to no time to work with the players, play friendly games, and so forth. He was thrust immediately into the challenge of the Afcon and the subsequent challenge of world cup qualifying.

In this sense, Eguavoen eventually became a victim of his own success.

Few Nigerians, or football fans anywhere, would have expected Nigeria to defeat Egypt, talkless of the ease with which it was done. Egypt would go on to be the eventual tournament runners up, slaving out draw after draw. Interestingly, Senegal, the eventual winners, adopted a similar approach in getting to the final, barely managing 9 goals in open play in the entire tournament. For some perspective, vincent Aboubakar of Cameroun scored 8 goals on his own. This fact will be shown to be relevant subsequently.

For now, the point is that, after entering the tournament with very low expectations, coach Eguavoen immediately delighted and raised the expectations of Nigerians by leading the team to three successive wins, while playing some exciting football.

And then came the shock round-of-16 exit at the hands of Tunisia. The Tunisians had studied the Nigerian game plan which was rather simple: pass it to the wingers and let them dribble. The Tunisians set up defensively and effectively contained the threat of the most dangerous nigerian winger, Moses Simon, relying, themselves, on a largely ineffective strategy of counter-attacking.

On the whole, the game appeared set for extra time - barring the intervention of the sublime, or the ridiculous. As it turned out, it was a ridiculous error from fine-boy Maduka Okoye whose poor attempt at saving a speculative long-range drive led to the only goal of the game. This goal was also the first and only goal Nigeria conceded in open play at the Afcon.

I suspect most people would agree with me that there is not much a coach can do about a goal-keeping error. Except, perhaps, play another keeper. So Nigerians began to clamor for the changing of Maduka Okoye. Apparently, Francis Uzoho of some unmemorable club side in Cyprus, or Enyimba's second-choice goalkeeper, John Noble, would be much better options than the pretty boy who is on loan to Sparta Rotterdam from Watford. I admit I was one of those.

So began the qualifying playoff games. Nigerians were prepared to forget the Afcon failure since the prospect of the world cup loomed and Ghana surely would be dispatched easily. Pretty boy Maduka claimed to be ill, though, there are many of us who believe his malaise was/is merely one of discontentment at the abuse he suffered at the hands of irate Nigerians.

The not quite-as-pretty Francis Uzoho, then, to the satisfaction of most Nigerians, was left to reclaim the spot that was once his. It is important to point out that Francis Uzoho was once a highly rated goalkeeper plying his trade in the Spanish top flight.

Eguavoen's team went to Ghana, ostensibly, set up to play for a draw so as to leverage the home advantage in the return leg in Abuja. The game, an ugly 0 - 0 draw played out accordingly. Nigerians, who always expect to win, were disappointed and left grumbling. The coach should have used Ademola Lookman some said. Etebo should have started becasue Bonke was useless others chimed. Moses Simon should be dropped, yet another group chorused.

At the press conference before the game in Abuja, one sports journalist asked Moses Simon whether the coach should yeild to calls to play Ademola Lookman since he (Moses Simon) had been caged for since the Tunisia game. Eguavoen, appears, now, to have listened to all of these voices. In the second leg in Abuja, he dropped Moses Simon for the first time, starting new boy Ademola Lookman in his place, along with Ogenekaro Etebo in place of Innocent Bonke, and Dennis Emmanuel on the right flank. The court of public opinion had their way, and the results? Predictable.

Ademola Lookman looked unable to cope with the physicality of the opponents, and was ineffective. Etebo lacked match fitness and kept giving the ball away. He was also nowhere to be found when Thomas Partey of Ghana fired off a speculative shot from 5 yards out of the
Nigerian box. That Partey shot was eerily similar to the one Youssef Msakni scored just a few months earlier, to end Nigeria's world cup hopes.

The lanky Francis Uzoho couldn't get down early enough to save the tame shot that sqeezed it's way under his huge frame and into the corner of the net. Apparently, the problem wasn't Maduka's fine face after all. This time, though, unlike in Garoua two months ago, there was an immediate response. Ademola Lookman was brought down in the box and a penalty was awarded after a VAR review.

All the Super Eagles needed to do was score, and we expected that they would. After all the Ghanaians came to joke around right? Wrong! While Nigeria had the upper hand in terms of possession, there was simply no penetrative edge to it all. And so, the sorrow of Garoua became the agony of Abuja.

All of this is now water under the bridge.

Eguavoen and his team have all been sacked by Amaju Pinnick, the NFF don. Interestingly, Pinnick, who hired both Eguavoen and his predecessor Rohr, has now sacked both while he himself remains securely ensconced within the NFF seat of power. Logically, if all the people you hired failed to do a job well then at the very least, it is clear that you are not fit for the role of hiring people for that job. Amaju Pinnick, if he were honorable, should have resigned by now, for overseeing, arguably, the worst Nigerian footballing disaster of the past 20 years!

But that is now beside the point. The real question is, did Augustine Eguavoen really fail to deliver? Let's examine his record.

Of 6 competitive games, Eguvoen's eagles won 3, lost 1, and drew 2. That is a decent record at any level.

And it wasn't as though this team was playing slouches either. The one defeat came to Tunisia, who are going to the world cup after convincingly dispatching West African heavyweights, Mali. The two draws came in fiercely contested ties with arch-rivals Ghana.

This is a decent record for any coach. Much more so for one who has had as little time as Eguavoen has had while being under as much pressure as he has been, from the media and higher-ups in the NFF who have always tried to dictate tactics to him.

Now, to buttress the point, consider the good fortunes of Senegal. Like Nigeria, Senegal played out their world cup qualifying games with an overall draw, conceding once in Cairo, and scoring once in Dakar. Both times by way of an own goal. Their good fortune was winning the resultant penalty shootout. Senegal are also the current Afcon winners, but their displays were boring and intrepid throughout the tournament, relying on the same defense-first strategy Eguavoen employed in the world cup qualifying games.

Their performances were certainly not better than anything Nigeria played. And what of Afcon runners up Egypt? They played through extra-time 4 times, going to penalties 3 of those 4 occasions, and repeating that trend by going to penalties with Senegal in the world cup play offs.

Of the top African teams, objectively analyzed, it is clear that Nigeria under Eguavoen has not performed unexpectedly poorly. Gone are the days of struggling to draw or defeat relative minnows like Cape Verde, or conceding 4 goals in 2 minutes against the likes of Sierra Leone. Eguavoen was on the right path with the Eagles, and given the little time he has had, should have been allowed another year or two at the helm of affairs.

Today, unfortunately, thanks to the grandstanding of Amaju Pinnick and the ever so forgetful Nigerian media, his competent run at the helm of affairs will be wrongly remembered as a calamitous reign of sorrow.
Bro,how much were you paid..??

Because this your lengthy uninspiring writeup to defend the indefendable incompetence of Mr. Eguevon&crew is brown envelope journalism.

Hello Nairalanders. I need your opinion.

My uncle is a medical director at a big hospital here in Nigeria. He relocated back to Nigeria about 8 years ago after practicing as a medical doctor in the US for over 20 years.

He discusses issues with me from time to time. This morning I was in his house and he was asking me to advice on which car to buy for himself for his 60th birthday.

He asked which car should he buy between 2022 Lexus LX600 and 2021 Mercedes Benz G63 AMG.

He said the G63 could have been an easy choice but he is concerned that Mercedes Benz might redesign or face-lift the G class by next year when they release the electric G class. He doesn't want to spend N200m to buy a car that becomes old model in one year.

The LX600 on the other hand is Lexus flagship model and new design.

He also talked about the new Range Rover but he said Range Rovers are not as reliable as Mercedes and Lexus which is a fact.

Abeg help me choose because I was confused and didn't know how to advise him.

SOMETHING VERY BAD AND UNHYGIENIC IS HAPPENING IN OUR FOOD MARKETS

Please....
Which institution, or agency is in charge of sanitising and maintaining the hygiene standards in our markets??
(I guess it is the Ministry of Environmental in the various States.. -- that is,, the Environmental Health Department or Agency).

Do you see all those people that are selling food-items that we are NOT going to wash again before using them, those people should be well educated and enlightened more on extra hygiene.
Most especially those people that are selling Pap (akamu), Garri, Crayfish, Ogbonor, Egusi, Cooked Food, And so on..

They should be taught very well on how to cover those things they are selling with a clean transparent sheet,, and to also have tap-installed buckets filled with water for them to be washing their hands frequently.

The other day,, right in front of me,, one of those women that were selling PAP in the open market had to sneeze.. She sneezed three times while she covered her mouth with her two bare hands... Then she placed those two hands on the pap she was selling,, trying to sell to the next customer that was already waiting..

Eeeuuwww..
So disgusting.!!
Kudos OP for bringing a meaningful topic/point.

I support it, our market people need to be educated on basic hygiene and etiquettes and also there need to be a form of basic price control mechanism to guard against greed induced artificial scarcity and increase of food prices....even also in the basic service sector renderers.

The local government system of Nigeria seems to be failing in their responsibilities, all they know how to do is idlness, corruption and excessive taxation.

The federal and state governments together with relevant NGOs and cooperatios, should as a matter of urgency champion these reforms.

This thing is spiritual &brotherly love.
The support of Edo state and Southsouth have for PeterObi and SouthEast(Igbos) is not up for negotiation.

Igbos made deep sacrifices in 2011&2015 for Southsouth region and took the bullet gracefully for it.

Late Prof. Dora Akunyili led the charge to enthrone Jonathan by speaking against the cabal even at the detriment of her life....the whole Igbos followed up together with her NigerDelta(Southsouth) brothers.

Since 2015 till date...SouthEast(Igbos) have faced serious persecution from the cabal, North&West(some Yorubas) for standing by Jonathan (the Southsouth son).
By doing this, Igbos earned an unnegotiated respect&love from the Southsouth.

It is time to reciprocate that love&support.

This is God using everything to favour SouthEast through Obi.

It is interesting to note that every attempt made by others, alot of (North&West especially) people to discredit the PeterObi's contest and instigate mistrust between the East&South brotherhood and make it a tribal affair by creating the stereotype that "nobody will vote an Igbo man or likes them" keeps failing and being proven as a lie from the pit of hell.

Am sure Igbo(Southeast) will always be grateful for this love& support by her Southsouth brothers.

Well-done Edo state and Southsouth.

These are warning shots....The main shocker is coming on election day....others take note!

Obi has won already.

She came to buy fufu (akpu) for her sons to eat.

She started crying cry cry cry, father lawd I was confused the more, you needed to see the joys in her face.

I am a Nigerian scientist and researcher based in the USA. Recently, I vsited my town in delta state, Nigeria for a research on substance abuse.

What I saw, to say the least is alarming. A whole town in delta state is hooked on a drug called SWINOL.

This drug contains Flunitrazepam, a highly potent and dangerous benzodiazepam, which can be lethal and highly addictive even at a dose low as 1mg. This is very worrisome, as the addicts to SWINOL cuts across all age groups in the town.

I made some background research and findings reveal that the drug is produced by Swiss Pharma Nigeria Limited.

I visited the open drug market in Onitsha, and I got the drug easily. It is virtually sold in all the shops I entered. This is a schedule A controlled substance, the how come it's every where in the open market. I visited the open market in Lagos, it is sold there too freely. Other brands I saw include Rophynol and Hypnox.

We must do something urgently about this life threatening drug called SWINOL. It is killing the youths in my town.

I call on the Federal Government to look into the sales and distribution of SWINOL, HYPNOX AND OTHERS.

I suspect it's nothing new in your family or extended family on your father's side hence their relaxed attitude to it. It's no big deal. They may have done such when they too were young. The boy should be kicked out of the house.

FamilyRe: How Can I Reduce The Hatred I Have For My Cousin Brother? by colonelwealth(m):
Comradepreneur:
So, in 2019, my dad decided to take him in.

One night, I woke up from sleep and decided to go to the kitchen and get drinking water (my room is just outside the sitting room, and you'll have to pass the sitting room before reaching the kitchen).

I observed that my cousin wasn't on the bed when I woke up. I decided to take a peek into my sister's room and there he was standing, jerking off to my sister's face! She was barely 15!

The lights was on, and his grandmother (my dad's mom) who came visiting was also on the bed together with my sisters! Such audacity!

I couldn't even believe what I saw, and tiptoed back into my room and woke up my maternal uncle who was staying with us in order to be my witness.

After witnessing the act, the only response he gave me was [b]Why is she (my sister) feigning to sleep, while he was touching her and jerking off to her face[b].

I was shocked and couldn't even believe his utterance. Like bro! You was supposed to help me bounce on the stupid slowpoke harassing my sister, (your niece).

He just said that and left. With the little energy left with me, I opened the door, dragged my cousin brother out and warned him never to try such act again (I initially wanted to teach him a lesson he ought to never forget in his lifetime, but I was hugely disappointed with what my uncle did).

Even though I still reported him to my parents, there wasn't any punishment meted out to him.

After that incident, I completely lost the respect I had for my uncle. Agreed he had some issues with my mom (her elder sister) back then, but why extend the hatred to her children?.

After that incident, I still occasionally catch my cousin brother in the night in the sitting room, claiming to iron out his clothes. But I still maintain my anger since it's not as if I caught him going into my sister's room.

What broke the camels back, was an incident which happened last 3 weeks ago.

One of my younger sisters (she's 13) reported to my dad in the middle of the night that he caught my cousin brother in her room, jerking off at her face while trying to remove her underwear.

All my dad did was to woke me up from sleep (saying that he wants me to be the witness), and he was preaching to the boy on how his mom, is his younger sister and that he should talk if marriage should be done for him since he can't hold his sexual desires (like man, you was supposed to call me and we smack the shit out of him together!!!).

I got angry and just left them there.

The next morning, I told my mom about the incident, and she told me that my baby sister (an 8 year old) do complain to her sometimes about sharp pains in her private part.

And this happens whenever, my cousin brother is sent to take her to the room whenever she's asleep on the sitting room couch. And also, how one of my sisters told her that he once caught him trying to lift up her skirt while she was fast asleep on the couch in the middle of the night.

Right now, I'm Justin mad at myself and angry at the same time! I feel like a loser, a pussy who can't even protect his sisters.

The bastard is still living with us, in my room, and every day, my hatred for him grows stronger.

Even when my mom told his mom, her only reply was that he's still a kid, and she should forgive him. Someone who's 17!!!! For goodness sake!.

She didn't even called him out to kneel down in front of my mom and rebuke him. Nothing was done!!!! She didn't even spoke to him about the incident.

And whenever my mom makes her displeasure known to my dad, he always says that she hates his family, bla bla bla.

How can I reduce my hatred for my cousin? Or is my hatred justified?

Right now, he has been restricted into coming into the sitting room, anything past 8pm.

But still, I'm still sure things might just go back to being the same!.

My fear right now is, I'll be going for my youth service in a few months time, which means this bastard will be with my sisters unsecured!!!!
As for you OP....I will be harsh and direct on you.

You are a disgrace and disappointment of a man and elder brother.
You are an imitation of a first born child.
Except this your story isn't true in any way but if true you deserve several punches to the face.

It is irritating to read the rubbish excuses you vomit with your mouth...how can somebody be molesting your siblings( younger females for that matter) you are making excuses, seeking for validation from your parents on the right things to do..?
Are you normal at all...or your brain is twisted.?

This is a case you should stamp your authority as a son&first born and deal with that guy ruthlessly without your parents permission.
How can you fail to protect your sisters from a molester or potential rapist....are you normal..?
There is always a limit to every juvenile stupidity.

Solutions..
1) Educate all your sisters on sexual education and the need to NEVER allow molestation or sexual predactors, to always protect themselves by saying no to such abomination.
Tell them the dangers in such and if need be use force to input these orientations into their heads.

2) time for talking or warning has been over since, create some urgent reasons(possibly setup) to brutalize and publicly shame the idiot....mess him up so much that he will either run&leave your home or change&behave.
That he will always be sacred of you or to go close to your sisters.(in doing this put aside family feelings and corrct his brain).

3) while doing no 2 above.....change it for your parents (dad&family) if any of them tries to rebuke you or make excuse for him&his mother.
Like someone said act like a "mad man" when dealing with the situation..

4) after doing no 2&3....involve neighbors, respected elders of the community &the police by making a police compliant(it will only cost you little, which you can sacrifice for your sisters safety)...your aim must be to publicity deal, shame the idiot and get him to sign an undertaken.

5) while at that try to get some level of tangible admissible evidence against him.
If your parents(especially your dad) or his mother or your rubbish uncle tries to intervain , embarrass&change it for them publicly too.
Make sure the boy's mother is not left out in the embarrassement, let her get the lion share.
And if your sisters are compleciet (party to his stupidity) deal with them to reset their brains by force.

Finally, if you don't stamp your authority as an elder brother& man in that house, then you will be a loser for life....then anybody can rubbish your family.
If that guy succeeds to molest or commit abomination with your sisters, you will have yourself to blame for the rest of your sorry life.

Stand up and defend your sisters, defend your family's honor and your prestige as a man.
(This will help you to prevent committing murder because of built up hatred one day and going to jail because of your inability to man up on this)

I suspect there is more your family are not telling you, else nothing more can explain their unborthered attitude.

I wonder how you will protect your future family(wife, sons&daughters) with this your uninspiring behavior.
Better man up before it's late.

1. For a 23-year-old, you are already starting off wrong in life.

So because the woman was accused, without evidence since she doesn't seem to have been charged with any of the crimes you post against her, you and your father would rather she live miserable after her obligations to her former husband are over? undecided

2. undecided
This guy, are you normal at all....??
I have been observing you, you seem to always talk out of point concerning most matters.
I suspect you are truly a junkie like your moniker.

Of the the points the OP raised, you couldn't see anything reasonable to say or advice him to help prevent a potential crime, it is irrelevant thing you are responding to or concerned about.

God help you.
HealthRe: I Saved An Accident Victim's Life And I'm Proud Of It by colonelwealth(m):
Centurion101:
I write this story to encourage people to always help if they are in a position to do so, especially is the situation is dire. What goes around comes around and you might just find yourself in a situation where you Will need help from strangers and hope they help you too.

Days ago I was in my neighborhood in South West running some errands at around 9pm on Sunday when I found myself in a very busy road packed to the brim end to end with cars stuck in a hold up trying to beat the jam to get to Thier respective destinations.

I turned the ignition off since I've already spent like 20minutes without moving an inch, a few seconds later I heard a loud bang it was a speeding bike who wanted to use it's small size to it's advantage to beat the traffic, upon close inspection I realized the bike has Just hit a guy with full force and ran away.

Consequently people came out to check on the guy that was hit,he was unconscious bleeding from the back of his head and face, unfortunately the bike's force banged him right into a very big cement structure that would probably weigh a couple of tons.

Nigerians being Nigerians started praying and speaking in tongues instead of administering aid to the guy, nobody was willing to touch him, there were just shouting and saying he is probably dead and they don't want police to charge them with his death.

At this point I tried to control the crowd to disperse and at least give this guy room to breathe and get some fresh air hoping that might resuscitate him,but there were like 50people gathering there and there is only so much a single person can do.

So realizing no one was willing to help this guy I fought my way through them ruggedly to get to the guy I realized he has a broken leg and arm and he was bleeding heavily but he has a pulse and he is not dead,
I don't know what I was thinking or what power came over me but the fact that he is alive made a difference to me and I said to myself I will take him to the hospital even if I have to carry him on my back and trek there.
I asked a man to help me Carry him, he asked do I know the victim and I answered yes,he is my junior brother.

so they helped me lift him up and I carried him on my back and began to speed, now the next thing was how to get transportation,we are in a hold up and no car is moving, by this point the crowds has dispersed and left me alone to tend to my PROBLEM.

I locked my car , sat the guy close to the side of the road ,I tried to find something that could apply pressure to reduce the bleeding, then it dawned on me that a cloth will do just fine,so I removed my shirt and tied it around his leg where he was bleeding the most.

Like I said earlier the task at hand was how to get transportation to the closest hospital, I began flagging down bikes but none of them stopped out of fear until I literarily ran in front of one forcing him to stop and told him to take me to the next hospital,I was about to start begging him to not let this guy die because of fear when this guy got down from his bike offering to help lift him so we can take him to the hospital,I don't know if it's God that sent him or it was just pure luck but he helped and we put the victim in the middle and started our journey to the hospital.

On the way I checked the guy's pulse and breathing like every second, telling him he's going to live one way or the other because my work will not be in vain. As God will have it he opened his eyes but he was still incoherent and totally out of it ,but at least now his eyes is opened and he is not laying down like a dead man, that kind of gave me an atom of hope.

Moments later we arrived at a private hospital and they were just about to close, apparently they had some issues with the workers that were supposed to cover a night shift, infact there was only one doctor on call and a few nurses around so it was all hands on deck, the victim was stretched in and as per private hospital wahala they demanded card and treatment fee up front, I even begged them to at least priorities the guy's life first but they said no money no treatment,so I paid for card, admission fee and treatment, it was 33,000 naira

After payment the doctor came in with the nurses and started working Thier magic, giving him some injections , cleaning his wounds, they even plugged him up with something that aided his breathing (I don't know what the thing is called).

After a couple of hours around 11:30pm the doctors came out and told me he was stable, that he had some internal bleedings that has Been stopped and he is responding fine to the treatment, they said I can go and see him if I wanted.

I went into the ward and checked up on him,he was heavily medicated and he couldn't really say anything that makes sense,he was just fixated on my face, strolling in and out of consciousness.

I slept in the hospital and the following morning around 8am he was awake and fine ,so I went to see him and when he saw me,he just started crying uncontrollably saying THANK YOU like a hundred times without stopping, this kind of made me a bit emotional because I've not really seen a lot of grown men cry.
He gave me his phone and I contacted his family members and told them what Happened, his mother almost passed out on the call, some minutes later they all rushed into the hospital. I peeked at them through the glass window when they went to his ward, the relief and joy in Thier faces is one of the most beautiful things I've seen in my life.

I left my number with the nurses there and told them to give to the guy when he is discharged and I made my way down to fetch my car, hoping and praying fervently that the car is still there and that was it.

That 33k was the best thing I've paid for in all my life and what happened just gave me joy and relief anytime I think about it.

The guy and his parents calls me like a billion times a day, they even offered to pay me back but I refused, collecting the money back is not worth the joy I got from doing what I did.
God bless you mightly for the act of kindness.
That is how life is meant to be....full of kindness.

The rest of us should be motivated to do kindness in any form without bias or strings attached while the receiptients of the kindness should exhibit true gratitude always.

Inasmuch as the higlighted points are true and the present Nigeria Army has been systematically sectionized and no motivation for Igbos to join.
The key reasons here is the deliberate disenfranchisement and hoarding of information from Igbo populace.

however I still insist they join up in mass because by joining you destroy their aims of sidelining you totally.

And also for the future because it will definitely not remain business as usually for the tribalistic leadership, one day a better government will enter and things will change, by then those Igbos who entered now will stand a chance to lead in top positions tomorrow.

Finally, it also for the defense of your people&land.
It is easy to defend yourselves when you are
part of the system than outside it.

Igbo leaders must do alot to dispel disinformation concerning joining the armed&para military forces and motivate families to allow their wards to join up.

Even in the civil service, politics and other sectors, Igbos should be deliberate and must stake their claims.....force yourselves in at all cost...you are a talented, big, major and very integral tribe.

PoliticsRe: Anglican Bishops Seek Explanation Over ‘dismantling’ Of Eastern Rail Line by colonelwealth(m): 12:44am On Nov 05, 2022
dominic17:
Anglican Bishops have expressed dissatisfaction and worry over the dismantling of Eastern rail lines.

This is coming on the heels of the ongoing removal and carting away of rail tracks in the entire Eastern corridor by some unidentified persons accompanied by security agencies.

The bishops noted with sadness that no information was in the public domain about the action and where the dismantled rail lines were taken to.
The Anglican bishops who spoke at the 13th Diocesan Christian Men Fellowship Conference held in Umuahia demanded explanations from the Federal Government on the whereabouts of the disconnected rail tracks.

“We are not comfortable with the manner the rail lines are being disconnected and taken away to an unknown destination without any official communication to the members of the public”, the Bishops said in a statement.

The statement signed by the Bishop of Anglican Communion, Diocese of Umuahia, Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Ibeabuchi, also tasked those in authority to provide explanations for the disturbing development.

It read in part: “What is happening? The Federal Government promised sometime last year to build a narrow gauge from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri, linking up Ajaokuta and Bonny Seaport.

“What’s going on? Are they now dismantling the rail lines to commence the work or are they trying to disconnect the South Eastern corridor? We are watching.”

Thank you to these Bishops...God bless them for speaking up.

Igbos, their elders, influential people and political leaders are not asking enough critical questions to the Nigerian government.

They are not being vocal at all....everyone operates as if nothing matters only focusing their attentions on some not too relevant issues.

It is time to be very vocal& intentional and demand things by force from the Nigerian state.....it is a duty to your children.
