maasoap: You are the one trying to arm twist the law. Just because he's a senator in Nigeria, he should be given special treatment instead of standard treatment, lol. Protecting the honour of my country is not the same as protecting a criminal who happened to be a Nigerian senator. So, don't get yourself confused.
Bro, I won't go back and forth with you...I have made my point and I know you understand it
You just refered to him as a criminal without allowing the courts determine that.
I repeat, because he is a senator does not make him automatically guilty. This was the same thing you guys said about the Airpeace boss& sensationalized the matter without allowing for due delligence. ...now the court has exornoratred him
Most of you thinks that once someone from Africa or Nigeria is accused by the whites or so called 'developed nations' he/she then must be guilty....you believe erroneously that their system is infallible which have been proved wrong countless times.
I think this is as a result of inferiority complex towards the west and undue bitterness towards one's nation.
Nobody is asking for the law to be twisted to suit him neither am I absolving him of an wrong doings.
My point is,in the handling of the matter, Nigerias' respects/prestige must be upheld at all cost.
He is our senior government official, they shouldn't treat him like a condemned criminal based on accusations that is yet to be proved.
I blame the Nigerian government and her citizens for most of the rubbish other nations do to us and get away with it.
Trust me the British will never ever allow a senior government official of their be treated this way no matter the accusations against him in a foreign land....they will demand respect to their national & his repatriation to face the law in their home country.
International principles of diplomatic engagements is not there for decoration, it is there for times like this.
Stop condemning unjustly people based on the virtue of their success or positions in life, you will gain nothing from it Bro.
The way you have concluded that he is guilty&be dealth with even if it means rubbishing Nigeria as a nation diplomatically, have you used that strength to ask critical& independent question or sort to find out the truth about the said boy...?
Ekwerenmadu should be allowed to defend himself in court without bias but in all with respect to his office as a top senator of the federal republic of Nigeria.
If you must critise him, put aside sentiments&hearsay & do so based on the account of his service as a senator to Nigerians and his representation of his people in the red chamber.
maasoap: If the gravity of the allegation against him doesn't give room for house arrest, that means house arrest is out of the picture which happens to be the case here.
Not just about underage but human trafficking and organ harvesting.
At what expense to another family, to another child? He bit more than he could chew and that's good for him and his likes
Bro, you have just exhibited the same things I was talking against. You have already judged the man& sentenced him without proper trial. You judged him guilty based on media trial and because he happens to be a senator who you believe is corrupt.
Why not allow the law courts determine the case and while at that why not try to protect the respect of your nation.
I repeat no serious nation(even poor nations) will allow a high ranking national be subjected to such ridicule because it will definitely rob off their general persepection or respect.
Note I am in no way saying he is innocent or guilty here but my point is, treating him this way is a huge slap on our nation no matter what.
If he was a British MP, do you think the British government's will allow or tolorate such treatment by any foreign nation..?
If he can be treated this way, then any Nigerian official including the no 1&2 citizens of Nigeria might be disrespected in the future by any nation.
Are ordinary Nigerians even fairing any better presently ...?
MissLAP: Did you noticed that almost all the Igbos in Nigeria never cared if he rot in the UK?
Did you noticed that almost all northerners never cared if he rot in UK?
Did you noticed that almost all Westerner never cared if he rot in UK?
The few that went there did it because they were colleagues!
What's the learning point?
Always identify with your tribe because that is how Africa is structured, Africans are person's of tribe.
Never neglect your people and always see reasons to protect them.
I said this because when he arrived Germany and was beaten mercilessly that should have taught him a lesson that his is no longer loved by the Igbo and he would have quickly make amends.
You were there when Buhari did everything possible to protect bokoharam members.
Nice one.. You have made a very deep point and I think I to have agree with you.
But in all, Nigeria as a nation bears the disrespect.
kingsways: Somethings are not just about the individual involved but are about the honour and dignity of the country as a whole
Ekweremadu is not just a serving Senator but a three time Deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Failure of the Buhari led FG to lift a finger to try to diplomatically resolve the Ekweremadu case is condemnable, in bad faith, and bad for the image and dignity of the country Nigeria.
And it is not like Ekweremadu committed any offence that is out of this world. He wrote to the the British High Commission and clearly communicated the purpose of his visit to the UK. This is just a loving parent trying to work out a solution to his daughter's illness.
It is obvious that the supposed victim had lied about many things including claiming that he was minor. And whatever be the case, the supposed victim is still hale and hearty!
Detention of Ekweremadu for months, even when he has been found guilty of any offence is completely unacceptable!!
Kudos bro...I like your write up and I support you.
Many people will say things about this case without critical analysis, a lot are already talking thrash without stopping to think. Most Nigerians that conderm the Ekwerenmadus & wants him destroyed are simply based on tribal, party or religious reasons and not genuine principles which only few have.
Part of the problems of Nigeria is the people and how they reason or approach matters that is why they often chase shadows and powerful people decieve the citizens' with ease.
This "pull him down at any means syndrome" or "herd mentality" mindset is bad. That a person is a Nigerian politician or public office holder/ figure doesn't automatically make the person a criminal or quilty of accused crimes instantly, instead channel your frustrations into something good& productive......but you guess what..?
It is Nigeria as a nation and her people that this insult is targeted at not really Mr. Ekwerenmadu. It simply means any nation can do as they wish to any Nigerian official or citizens as they please because they know nothing will happen. Even if the accusations are right, there are better ways to handle the matter a more respectful way that Nigeria/Nigerians won't be rubbished in the process.
A diligent, right thinking government&people will demand for his repatriation to Nigeria to face his trials here just like other nations do.
No serious country or government in the world will allow any of their officials, talk more of top one be subjected to this ridicule no matter what. This explains why Nigeria has lost huge respect world over....everyone now wants to rubbish her at any opportunity...eg Dubai(UAE) recently.
All those people condemning the man would easily have done same mistake if they were the ones involved....and it's not as if the court has pronounced him guilty yet.
The British government's action is disrespectful to our nation and is in bad faith and I disagree with this their method towards this case.
The man can still be kept under house arrest pending the conclusion of the case instead of sensationalizing things by putting him in prison.....would he have ran away and left his family or sick child..?
The so called "underaged" Boy is busy enjoying his mischief while his backers cheer on but only God will judge this matter and time will tell.
His crime was simply trying to be a good father&protector to his child&family.
This case makes me believe that there is more to it than we are told...someone/people powerful somewhere is probably pulling the strings behind.
I am no way defending him if guilty...am only stating that things should be done in a more proper& respectful manner to Nigeria according to obtainable international/diplomatic best practices.
That it is Mr. Ekwerenmadu & family today doesn't mean that it can not be you celebrating his ordeals tomorrow...so think independently.
Nigeria think deep&restore your nation's respect because what affects one will definitely affect others.
I totally support Sowore on this. Godwin Emefiele is a disaster and should be sacked immediately. He is incompetent and corruption and has been fronting for some wicked cabals.
They want to run the economy down but God will disappoint them and disgrace them.

ceeceeuwa: Early this year,my family and I decided to use the undeveloped part of our property for a family garden.
Even the children were not left out as they planted some maize. It has been an interesting experience so far as we are all enthusiastic about the whole process. We take turns to tend to the crops.
Some of the crops we planted include: * Maize * Potatoes * Okro * Water leave * Bitter leave * Spinach * Jute leave (Ewedu) * Beans * Yam * Fluted pumpkin Other random crops we have in our property are plantains, bananas, pineapples, scent leave, lemon grass, pawpaw and mango.
I get manure from a nearby poultry to boost the crop growth.
I will be sharing pictures to encourage anyone who wants to take same bold step. We are beginning to enjoy some of the harvests.
This initiative has helped limit the purchase of some family needs.

Abiodunstephen: RAISING SUCCESSFUL KIDS A Harvard nutritionist shares 6 brain foods that will help your kids stay 'sharp and focused'
The first few years of life set the foundation for brain health. Studies show that a nutritious diet in infancy is key to promoting a child's long-term well-being, and the foods they eat can impact their cognition, temperament, motor skills and language development.
As a nutritional psychiatrist, I've found that foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, folate, iron, iodine, zinc, choline and vitamins A, B12 and D support brain function, behavior and learning. Avoiding processed foods with added sugars is also key.
Children can be picky, so parents will have to get creative. Here are six brain foods that will help your kids stay sharp and focused:
1. Superfood smoothies Smoothies are a tasty way to incorporate lots of nutrients into your child's diet — and even disguise foods that they might normally fight. You can even call it a "milkshake."
For the best superfood smoothie, add folate-rich and fiber-rich leafy greens like spinach or kale, along with chia seeds or walnuts for plant-based omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and protein. Then throw in an avocado for healthy fats, followed by antioxidant-rich blueberries.
Adding plain, unsweetened yogurt can also increase your smoothie's creaminess, protein levels and gut-healthy probiotics that boost mood.
2. Homemade veggie fries Eating a colorful variety of vegetables is so important for getting enough fiber and phytonutrients, as well as fueling both gut health and mental health.
Air fryer ovens add a crispy, crunchy texture to food without deep frying. Use it to make zucchini, carrot or green bean "fries."
Then top the vegetables with a pinch of black pepper and turmeric, rosemary, oregano, parsley or thyme to add flavor.
3. Homemade hummus Legumes are healthy, plant-based sources of iron, zinc, protein and fiber, benefitting brain development.
Homemade hummus is a versatile way to incorporate legumes into your child's diet. It can be served in so many ways, such as a dip paired with apple slices, carrot sticks, thinly sliced celery or sugar snap peas.
Adding some color to your hummus can make it more appealing to kids. Think: a bright orange carrot hummus or a deep-purple beet hummus topped with a monster face made out of vegetables.
4. Salmon Introducing your child to fish at a young age can increase their likelihood of enjoying it and eating low-fat, vitamin-rich proteins for the rest of their life.
Salmon is soft and mild enough for young children, and is also a good source of vitamin B12 and omega-3s, which promote healthy brain development and happier moods.
5. Eggs Whole eggs are an excellent source of brain-boosting vitamins A, D and B12, along with choline. Choline is especially important for young children, as it has been shown to improve brain development and long-term memory.
I recommend buying pastured eggs: One study found that pastured eggs can have twice as much vitamin E and almost three times as many omega-3s as caged eggs.
6. Meatballs Sneak some powerful plant-based fiber and nutritious veggies into your child's diet through meatballs.
Start with a base of beans, lentils or pastured ground turkey. Then add shredded spinach or grated zucchini.
Use flax seeds to bind the ingredients for added omega-3s and toss in your spices. Baking the meatballs, versus frying, is the healthiest way to do it.

Basiljoe: I like Chinese food. I always love the flavor. So I decided to see what 10k can get me if i cook instead of ordering from my regular place, which cost like 8-10k for just 2 Regular boxes of Rice/Noodles.
Pork chops Chicken breast Indomie fried Oriental and Relish Noodles.
Chop up the ingredients. Boil/Fry the eggs and set aside. Boil/fry meat or protein choice. Steam your noodles and then sieve and set aside. Add oil to the pan and stir fry the chopped ingredients and then add the eggs and then slowly add the Soy sauce and Oyster sauce, might give it a brownish look.
Stir fry together with the noodles. Wait to simmer for 5 minutes Add meat or protein choice.
Serve. Enjoy.
Best served with a chilled bottle of Viju Milk chocolate/Red Wine/ Orange or Apple Juice. N
