PoliticsRe: Katsina State After 8 Years Of Yar'adua. by con9ja: 3:36pm On May 06, 2007
@Afam and Jockey112 I feel you guys, nigerians are hard to please, we all seem to forget that ruling this country is not a one man business, president has been elected and will be sworn in, what we need to pray for is the kind of people he'll be surrounded with (i.e he's cabinet ), integrity is one major thing lacking amongest our leaders in nigeria.
If Yar'adua has a clean bill that is a plus, coupled with the fact that he is not a millitary man, and he and goodluck are both educated.

Please let's all give him a chance and try and be positive, alot of the bad things happening in nigeria is not just because of the leaders we have (who unfortunately are a reflection of the society that produced them) but it's also the kind of followership and the negative things we have spoken into the air, lets all be positive and support our leaders in our own way and stop asking what your country will do for u, but start asking what you will do for your country,

There is alot of things we can do in our own little way to make this nation a better place, cheesy

PoliticsRe: Updates On The 2007 Presidential Election by con9ja: 9:07am On Apr 28, 2007
@ Wetinde well said.
The truth is  if another elections is conducted PDP is most likely still going to win, i honestly think we should give Yar'adua/Goodluck a chance, And the opposition party should go and build-up themselves because the truth is that there is really no strong opposition, i think these parties should come together to form a strong opposition and start working now towards the next four yrs, but they might have a little problem if PDP performs well in the next four yrs (which i strongly believe they will,if not for anything to make a point).

Lets support the new leaders in our little own way and be positive rather than negative and let's build our nation to an enviable place, i have a problem with the western world they really don't have anybody's interest than their own and they don't love us that much, so let us come together and build our great Nation.
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Might Try To Implement Sharia Across Nigeria? by con9ja: 9:37am On Apr 26, 2007
@Viee God Bless u,

Is that how a president just wakes up to say he'll make a nation a sharia nation, I beg lets just allow the guy and stop spreading rumours.

That is why you have the legislative arm of government, such a decision/bill will go through them.
PoliticsRe: Let Us Score Prof. Iwu's Performance So Far In The Elections by con9ja: 5:37pm On Apr 25, 2007
I would have scored him btw 50 and 60% but for the latest news in ondo state where pdp won a senatorial seat but did not field a candidate, how on earth do you explain that,

PoliticsRe: Femi Pedro To Be Impeached: Does It Make Sense? by con9ja: 7:58am On Apr 25, 2007
I think Tinubu is just being childish and funny, and unfortuniately the members of the house of assembly are being used by him, i guess he is trying to take out he's frustration on Femi Pedro, you can imagine what he is going through knowing that come may 29th he might be arrested coupled with the fact that he won't be getting any appointments in govt. since Atiku didn't win the presidency,
PoliticsRe: Musa Yar'adua Is The New President Of Nigeria! by con9ja: 8:17am On Apr 24, 2007
I am happy Yar'adua won and i believe he'll perform and surprise nigerians, he just needs to make sure he surrounds himself with the right people.

On INEC, i don't understand why we are expecting a perfect electoral body from an imperfect system, we seem to forget that the people that make up INEC are actually nigerians so what do you expect,
PoliticsRe: Updates On The 2007 Presidential Election by con9ja: 2:26pm On Apr 21, 2007
Don't know what kind of input u want but here's my experience when i went to vote. Got to the polling booth at about 11.45am only to discover that the register for our booth was a wrong one, INEC official calls sup. who comes and asks for the party agents they have a little meeting and then they agree that we should go ahead and vote (without the register) they'll check for the marker stain on outr thumb from last week, and use that to accredit you for voting,

Even a secondary school student would have done much better, we are talking about a register we used just a week ago not four yrs ago,, INEC has failed us, as if that was not enough we were only given two ballot papers instead of three i heard INEC postponed the senatorial elections till God knows when,

Na wa ooooooo huh
PoliticsThe Best Performing Governor Is: by con9ja(op): 7:00pm On Apr 19, 2007
Who do you think was the best performing governor in th past 4yrs and why?

It would be nice to get all outgoing and all incoming governors onto this site so they have an idea of what people think about them, maybe that will help the incoming governors to sit up in the next four yrs.
PoliticsRe: World's Shortest Political Quiz: Just Two Questions! by con9ja: 6:53pm On Apr 19, 2007
I'm a centrist.
I wish we could get our politicians to do this quiz and atleast have an idea of what kind of ideologies they have i bet 90% of them don't have the faintest idea of what government is all about, if they did they'll know it's more than going to power to steal money,

PoliticsRe: Should Atiku Take The Al Gore Option? by con9ja: 9:47am On Apr 13, 2007
I think Atiku should just go and sit down, he was vp for about 7yrs what did he do? i am not saying obj is a saint but i think we should start facing reality in this country and stop all this sentiments, Most of the politicians as far as i'm concerned are just hungry for power and wealth they don't really have our interests at heart if not it won't be a do or die affair. If you really want to server you can at whatever level you are, If he really wants to serve the people he and other politicians that won't win should join forces with those that do and move this country forward,

Once again lets stop calling each other names,
Everyone is entitled to he's opinion and vote,

Lagos deserves a man that stands for change,
If you believe in prayers rather than spending time abusing one another let us all go into our closets and ask God to help us ensure that the best man wins, And that all forms of rigging and injustice be exposed. You know there is nothing to difficult for God to do,
