Trouble hits Ubi Franklin's marriage as wife Lilian Esoro ignores wedding anniversary


The Franklins are not having the best of relationships right now they are managing to keep their woes under wraps - except that sadly, Somtoo Okoye blog has learnt of it.

So, yesterday marked the 1st wedding anniversary of Triple MG boss Ubi Franklin and his pretty actress wife Lilian Esoro. The couple got married on 1 November 2015.

While the hubby posted pictures and all that to mark the event, Lilian, who reports say "temporarily" separated from Ubi, kept mute. To add insult to injury, she posted beauty tips on her Instagram page to the awe of fans who were expecting her romantic message in response to her estranged husband's anniversary greetings.

Some fans questioned her actions and a fight ensued in the comments box. She ignored them all and went ahead to post a selfie of herself this morning.

In response to the whole saga, Ubi Franklin posted a picture of their newborn son, Jayden, whom according to him, he is fixing his " focus" on - for the time being.

I hope the beautiful couple set aside their differences and continue their adorable marriage.

Presidency warns Nigerians to stop using "the other room" to mock Buhari


Official spokesman of President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu, has once again maintained that the Nigerian number one citizen was only passing humor when he said "my wife belongs to my kitchen...and the other room" in response to Aisha Buhari's criticism of his government last week.

Speaking on Friday 21 October 2016, Shehu lamented:
"I can assure you that President Buhari’s sense of humor is one of his most distinguishing characteristics, despite his stern mien.

"Unfortunately, an important trip such as this one planned to boost trade and investment, enhance security partnership and pitch the country to eager investors became overshadowed by public outcry over some remarks President Muhammadu Buhari made in Germany, which have sadly been misconstrued by the media and some members of the public.

"A number of whom he has appointed into key positions in his administration, neither do they reflect his attitude towards his wife, Hajiya Aisha, as anyone can see from their history together.

"President Buhari has been an invaluable support to his wife, and I know that he has great plans for every Nigerian woman. Five of his daughters have acquired university degrees. One of them just finished law school and another one undertakes a higher degree programme.

"I hope that all well-meaning Nigerians will put an end to the unfair insinuations that have been generated by President Buhari’s jocularity. Seeing a well-meaning leader being so misunderstood is painful for me."

30-year-old Nnaji Juliet Ijeoma from Enugu State was arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) on Friday 21 October 2016.

According to official information available to Somtoo Okoye blog, the hairstylist had arrived from Brazil on a South African Airways flight before she was apprehended with 535 grams of a substance that tested positive to cocaine. The substance was concealed inside her bra.

Ijeoma said she was a hairstylist by profession and that her sponsor promised her the sum of 1 million naira on delivery of the hard drugs.

The National Diploma graduate of Mass Communication narrated:
"I work as a hair stylist in Brazil where l reside for the past two years. I studied mass communication, but because of lack of job, I work as a hair stylist in Brazil. I was approached to smuggle cocaine to Nigeria and I accepted because of the money involved.

"I needed money for my personal problem. The drug was prepared inside brassiere and given to me to put on. I did not know how it was packaged. My role was to smuggle the drug to Nigeria and collect the sum of N1 million."
Confirming the incident, chief executive of NDLEA, Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah, said:
"It is obvious that drug traffickers are getting desperate, but we are prepared to counter their operations through superior intelligence.

"The discovery of the drug was a big surprise to the suspect because she felt her mode of concealment was full proof. l want drug traffickers to note that no matter how smart they conceal their drugs, we shall detect them."

Akwa Ibom "Runs Girl" Whose Nude Pics Were Leaked On Internet Heads To Police

A batch of after-sex pictures of the young woman named Miracle and her male lover went viral on social media on Thursday although Somtoo Okoye blog intentionally ignored posting anything about them.

Now, the alleged runs girl in the nude pictures who hails from Akwa Ibom State, has reportedly taken the matter to police after the nudes went in full circulation. For bringing her widespread embarrassment, she says the young man behind the leaking of the pictures must marry her if he wants to avoid further punishment.

According to a close source,

"The lady (Miracle) is not a runs girl... She allegedly meant this guy, who look just like ( #wizkid) last months at a bus stop. And after about two week of knowing each other, she decided to give the guy her package... The source said she was fully aware when the guy was taking the pictures, But didn't think the guy will be so foolish to distribute the pics to his friends.

"The guy wasn't the one that leaked the pics... The guy sent the pics to a friend, and that friend sent it to another friend, and another friend-friends....That's how the pic finally made its way to the Internet.

"As at right now, the lady is planning on reporting her boyfriend to the police...OR the guy must marry her since she's now famous for the wrong reasons and maybe hard for to get a husband."

A female student of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State, urged her lecturer to come and have sexual intercourse with her for good grades. Not that this act is totally unheard of, but the student dazzled her lecturer by writing the request on her answer sheet during examinations.

FFK cries out, says EFCC planning to arrest him again


Days after his girlfriend and 8-month old son were arrested and released upon the intervention of Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, embattled former Aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, says that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) wants to arrest him for the second time this year.

He said in a statement today:
[b]"I have been reliably informed by my sources within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that they are planning to re-arrest and detain me for as long as possible once again even though I have been granted bail by the Federal High Court in Lagos.

"Fresh charges were filed against me by the EFCC at the Federal High Court in Abuja on July 7th. The allegations border on a baseless allegation and false claim that I received twenty six million naira from the NSA's office in 2014. These are politically-motivated charges and there is no truth in or substance to them whatsoever.

"The case has been assigned to a judge and the date for arraignment has been set for 10th November before Justice Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

"My lawyers were in court for the original date of arraignment on the 14th of October but for some curious reason the EFCC did not show up on that day.

"The matter was therefore adjourned till 10th November and my lawyers have given an undertaking to the Judge to ensure that I am in court on that day. They have also written to the EFCC to that effect and our letter was acknowledged by them.

"Because of that the matter is now seized of the court yet the EFCC are still planning to arrest me probably at the premises of the Federal High Court in Lagos after I appear there on friday 21st October to attend my trial on the trumped up and, again, politically-motivated charges concerning the presidential campaign funds.

"If they do not arrest me then they will arrest me and seek to detain me for as long as possible soon after that. Whichever way they will come and I am ready for them. I am not running.

"The truth is that the EFCC are a ready, willing and able tool in the hands of the hawks and hardliners in the Buhari administration and they are apparantly acting on orders.

"They are desperate to keep me out of circulation and off the streets and I have been reliably informed that they were ordered to ensure that that is the case by the Presidency.

"They are also eager to arrest and detain my wife and my 8 month old son just to hurt and spite me even though they have done absolutely NOTHING wrong.

"By the time I am in their custody they will start churning out all manner of garbage and lies to the media about me and my family and they will say all sorts of things about supposedly new matters which they have "just discovered" and "fresh allegations".

"They will even claim that I have admitted to certain crimes, that I have been badly implicated and that I in turn have implicated other people. Please do NOT believe a word of these dirty lies when they start flowing. It is called disinformation and the EFCC indulge in it all the time.

"That is their stock in trade and they will feed the press with all manner of garbage knowing that I am not there to defend myself, to set the record straight or to expose their fabrications.

"That is their way. That is their style. They will say and do anything to demonise, humiliate, destroy, convict on the pages of newspapers and detain indefinately (with the aid of questionable detention orders from equally questionable magistrates and judges) those that they hate and all their perceived enemies.

"Their plan is to attempt to justify keeping me off the streets for the next one month and even longer even though I am already out on court bail.

"I have known about this evil plan for over one month now and I am not deterred. I am not scared or intimidated and I urge them to do their worse and let God judge between us.

"The more evil they do to me, the more the coals of fire will pour on their heads. Also the more the President will continue to fail woefully and have all manner of strange and inexplicable problems.
Wickedness and wicked men never last. No matter what they do to me that is my consolation. They are bullies and cowards and they have no shame.

"My only crime is that I have spoken the bitter truth to power and I am very proud of that.
That is what God created me to do. It is my calling and I stand by every word that I have ever said about this President and this evil, corrupt and inept government.

"As long as there is life and breath in me I will continue to speak the truth and fight for a better Nigeria.

"This government is vicious, vengeful, inept and toxic and so is their willing tool the EFCC.
As I am in their cells and subjected to their barbaric torture and wicked and inhuman treatment for another period of time I shall continue to pray for Nigeria.

"I shall also remain strong in my faith and continue to trust in my Lord.
I urge all those that believe in me, read my essays, follow my posts and share my vision and views to stay strong, to keep the flag flying, to fight a good fight and to never give up or falter despite the tyranny that we face and the fascists that we are confronted with.

Army lied, JTF intentionally killed Izu Joseph in his wife's presence - Family


The family of Izu Joseph, the Shooting Star Sports Club player who was killed by military operatives in his hometown of Okaki, Ahoada West LGA of Rivers State on Sunday 16 October 2016, has spoken.

Joseph's father, in contrary to Army claims that the footballer was seen with cultists, blasted security operatives for shooting his son at close range.

Reuben Izu lamented:
"He was in Okaki with his wife before he died. He had planned to come to Port Harcourt where I live with his daughter.

"He went to the jetty area where we usually swim to have a quick shower on Sunday. It was while he was there that the men of the JTF raided the place and everybody ran helter-skelter, including Joseph.

"When the soldiers saw them running they began shooting sporadically and one of the bullets hit Joseph in the leg. As he was groaning with pain, one of the JTF men walked up to him and shot him a second time at a close range despite Joseph’s plea that he was a footballer on holiday in Okaki.

"His mobile phone and identity card were seized from him and we have not been able to retrieve them till now. The soldiers didn’t allow anybody to help him until he lost a lot of blood. After they left, he was taken to the hospital where he died due to loss of blood."

House of Reps speaker Dogara used 500m for strippers' party, Jibrin drops bombshell


Federal House of Representatives speaker Yakubu Dogara and another member, Hon. Herman Hembe, took 500 million naira of taxpayers money and used some of them to host parties with prostitutes, suspended Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin who used to be a close ally to the speaker revealed today.

Aisha Buhari will join PDP since her spouse doesn't know her party - Jalo


A former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdullahi Jalo, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari's viral comments over his wife, Aisha's criticism of his appointments.

Buhari was quoted saying during a press conference on Friday 14 October in Germany:
"I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room."
Speaking today, Jalo urged the wife of the Nigerian president to dump her husband's All Progressives Progress (APC) for PDP.

He said:
"As far as I am concerned, she has done the work of an opposition, and if she decides to join us, she will have a good reception,

"Also, should Buhari reject her advice, the consequence could be colossal, which might lead to his popularity being diminished as the nation is approaching the 2019 general elections."

I will not support my husband in 2019, Aisha Buhari blasts Nigerian president


Aisha Buhari, the wife of Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, has berated her own spouse for his lack of sensitivity in the appointment of cabinet members.

Aisha was speaking during an interview with BBC's Naziru Mikailu.

Her words:
"The president does not know 45 out of 50, for example, of the people he appointed and I don't know them either, despite being his wife of 27 years.

"People who did not share the vision of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are now appointed to top posts because of the influence a few people wield.

"Some people are sitting down in their homes folding their arms only for them to be called to come and head an agency or a ministerial position. You will know them if you watch television."

Asked if President Buhari will retain his seat come the next general elections in 2019, Aisha dded:
"That is left for the people to decide.

"He is yet to tell me but I have decided as his wife, that if things continue like this up to 2019, I will not go out and campaign again and ask any woman to vote like I did before. I will never do it again."

Okowa finally speaks on his collapse, says he was treated in Nigeria


Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has broken the silence on his alleged collapse during World Teachers Day celebrations on Wednesday 28 September 2016.

The governor denied slumping, alleging that what he encountered was a minor domestic accident which left him with a physical injury, adding that his condition didn't require him for foreign treatment unlike what some newspapers (not somtoo.com) reported.

His words:
"The truth is that last Wednesday, I entered the washroom in my office and one of the tiles fell off from the wall and I had a minor cut on my head and I had two stitches and it was treated, and I was OK."

Two armed robbers lost their lives shortly after they snatched a Hyundai IX35 vehicle with registration number SMK 485 CM from a priest along Eko Bridge, Lagos State on Sunday 9 October.


The robbers who were driving recklessly, crashed off the bridge, killing a passerby who was identified as a car mechanic instantly.

The wreckage of the vehicle was removed by officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
