Social Relativity Article: Article - Nigerian/African People should stop seeing Nigerians/Africans who live/lived and school/schooled abroad as more human/superior than Nigerians/Africans who live, work and school/schooled within. There is this nonsense I see and hear on the streets often; the way Nigerian masses tend to view or see or perceive Nigerians who ply their trades outside Nigeria as superiors to those who ply their trades within the country. It's a self insulting and self defeating way of viewing oneself as citizens and residents of Nigeria. The only things that change when a Nigerian goes outside are (1.) The Systematic advantage of the Country they travel/travelled to, (2.) Maybe their bloody lingual accent, Nothing else changes, its still the same skin, the same DNA, the same everything, maybe not the same systematic advantage but there's no much difference between the Nigerian who does his trade outside the country and the one who does his inside or within the country, it's stupid and self insulting and self defeating for you the hardworking Nigerian to see an individual who is just as Nigerian as you are as superior just because abroad is involved. That kind of archaic villageman or villagewoman self insulting mindset has to die a natural death if at all with a renewed patriotic self esteem you desire to water the seeds of true change, emancipation and development in Nigeria. During the Star Mega Jam music concert a few years ago, PSquare and a couple of other notable Nigerian artistes who were home based as at the time their music careers picked up momentum refused to perform exactly the same amount of time with the foreign artistes for a lesser pay because according to them, it is self insulting to pay your home grown professionals lesser amount of funds and respect than the ones you flew in from abroad and expect your home grown artists to perform for the same amount of time with the foreign artist. This protest was carried out extensively by PMAN until the Nigerian music is now as globally competitive and well acknowledged as it is today. In football, notable players in the Glo Premier league should be given key roles in the nation's teams, who scored the winning goal for Nigeria to lift the 2013 Nations Cup? A foreign based player didn't do that. YOUR COUNTRY CAN'T DEVELOP IF YOU GIVE TOO MUCH CREDITS/RESPECT TO ABROAD THAN HOME. From my own candid and clear opinion, those folks who do their business at home develop the country more than those who travel out because the capital flight is reduced and the money circulates within the country. It's not wise to celebrate the Nigerian abroad more than you celebrate the ones who slept with dogs in Dubai and came back home to brandish dirams like they're better than the pretty virgins we have at home! Just because abroad is involved doesn't mean you have devolved into a Cebus, you are a Homo Sapien. Dear Nigerians, let that nonsense stop, if we want Nigeria to improve. Friday Ani The most powerful position in the hierarchy of any developed nation is at the grassroots levels, not at the top or administrative level of leadership. Local Government Chairmen, and Councillors are supposed to be much more influential and powerful than those in Aso Rock and Abuja because they're the ones closest to the grassroots. Nigeria is presently in a situation where the above mentioned are almost voiceless while those at the upper levels do all the talking! It's up to the masses to ensure the country is turned back to how it's supposed to be by yanking power out of the hands of a few Aristocrats who do just whatever they want. News - Nigerians feel tired and frustrated and vent their frustrations out on net via cyber bullying! And in real life via verbal bullying. Verbal bullying and cyber bullying is very rampant in the Nigerian society and cyberspace. It is an outcome of "mass frustration" which it's root cause is traceable to the monopoly of politics by aristocrats who care less or nothing about the welfare of the masses. But if verbal bullying and cyber bullying becomes the only available means of relief from the oppressive regime of a few aristocrats fleecing many Nigerians without a jot of empathy, it makes both the oppressor and the oppressed toxic to the society. NIGERIANS NEED TO LEARN HOW TO COMMUNICATE DECENTLY and ETHICALLY: Decency is the trademark of civilization. For example: in my field of work in Ministry when arguing about Tithe, I always state my points clear without calling names or abusing any body. Let's say Pastor Alex says "Tithe paying is a scam or it's unscriptural" and I don't agree with him I don't just say..."Pastor Alex you're a goat, you're stupid or you're a fake Pastor " That's indecent and unethical, before I'm half done with what I'm saying to any sane user of the cyberspace, i'm already a cyberbully. The same applies to verbal arguments. I can say " Tithe payment is an act of obedience to God" therefore Christians who pay their Tithes receive an extraordinary dose of God's Favour in their finances compared to those who don't. If I want to sound more frank and blunt, I can do that without insulting anybody "directly" I can say; "Anyone or any Pastor that says Tithe paying is unscriptural, is a wicked pastor that hides the truth from his members and wants them to remain poor Christians" Take a good look at the above statement... Though it sounds a bit hard/harsh...it doesn't insult anyone directly! That's the difference between Thick talk and thick talk lite. Understand. These street jargons like... U wan collect? Comot body... etc etc From an ethical point of view all sound harsh, toutish and looks like some set of gutter languages reserved for brutes and low mean men, and they're NOT FUNNY! Which I believe you're not. Look at this Tweet below... The guy with the Labour Party logo who responded to Seun the host of the tweet needs to get a cyber bullying rehab! Friday Lots of Folks have been asking me to change my ministerial title to either Pastor or Reverend or whatever Some Churches expressly told me that they don't recognize Apostles and won't invite them either, it's either I change to Pastor or Reverend before they acknowledge I exist.
