No it is not a prediction.
You expect a certain scoreline, but you don't want it to be termed a prediction.
Pray, tell us,what the difference is,since you're smarter than the rest of us all.
yes, i expected united to beat otelul!
with all things being equal, they were there for the taking.
scoring the first goal was always going to be hard but once we got that, they were forced to come out and play - which suited united perfectly!
without vidic's sending off, it would have been a rout for the romanian side.

Stop making these rubbish excuses jor.
Evra was Way out of place to begin with. Those your watery argument/excuses don't count for anything.
What's the major complaint against Evra from most United fans?
evra had to make a decision. track messi and hope xavi threads the ball to messi or stay put with pedro.
the truth is united's defence found themselves in a tight situation and a goal was bound to happen whatever decision patrice might have taken.
we are talking about the best team in the world - if they didn't score from that incident, they would have scored from another.

Funny you could call Roma an elite team in Europe.
But I'll overlook that.
what were they doing in the quarter-finals in elite europe if the team is not elite.
they had beaten united 2-1 in the first leg - i hope you remember that.

It so happens that the earliest of these teams we faced was 2009.That said, that Inter team is markedly different fromthe one that won it all in 2010.So I wouldn't agree with you, never mind Joe Mourinho was boss.
says who?
the inter team we beat had zlatan, cambiasso, zanetti, ceasar, etc in their books.
they were very good - they were the italian champions, weren't they?

Carrick didn't boss Barcelona in 2008.It boiled down to tactics that we were able to keep them scoreless.Otherwise Barca had the lions share of possession over the two legs.
go and watch that first leg again at nou camp!

And the team that beat otelul scraped a victory via two penalties. And we should celebrate.Priceless.
scraped a victory? scraped?
otelul were beaten hands down. what's there to scrape.
10-man united side beat otelul by a 2-goal margin and you call it scraping the barrel? shocked

Speak for yourself as well.
Yeah,Hernandez would have scored when the ball never got to him.
Like Torres would have scored after beating DDG at OT.
Keep on assuming for all of us.You talk like you see into the future. Are you Nostradamus?
hernandez is more clinical than torres. in that situation, my money is on hernandez scoring.
he would have been put through one on one with the goalie. 2 world class goalkeepers wouldn't have stopped him.
if you don't believe me - ask petr cech! grin

Yeah,it took 70 minutes to open up a team who were cared of us from the get-go.That's how good we were on the night.
Why weren't United in their "pomp" as you put it?
Now we're explaining away a depressing outing with a sending off (something that has good chance of happening when you're on the road) as if we were ever really convincing at any point before then.
we were too convincing. one of the best away games i have seen us play in europe.
carrick had 94% pass completion rate. his passes kept finding united's forwards. valencia was shyte though and nani on the left wasn't the same as the nani on the right. we could have done better but i am still satisfied with the performance.

By the way,you ain't no soccer guru.Hiding behind anonimity in a public forum on the web doesn't bestow you that title,no matter how smart you (may think you) are.
this isn't worth debating over.
i let my class speak for itself. cool

even a donkey like deborah knows how gurutic i am. grin

Hear ye,hear ye.
When a wide margin doesn't surface, technicalities and grammar take over.
Then we'll hear he never made any precise prediction.
with all things being equal. . . . it will be a wide margin.

all things being equal(the preferred team selection, the preferred personnel in each position, a sunny day, constant atmospheric pressure, fergie wearing grey suit and ibime going for his sex-change to become ibidun before sunday). cool
if all these conditions are satisfied, united 3-0 citeh!

the humiliation was horrible.
if ndlea are going to pull a celebrity of baba suwe's status - they'd better be sure he's really guilty cos his face has been splashed all over the media that he was a drug mule. nobody will remember he wasn't guilty after all.

he should sue ndlea. the association of yoruba artistes should back him up.

^^I remember Williams the Brazilian I think he scored a free kick against us in Chile 87.
nigga was dangerous. they kicked nigeria 4-0 on the night.

Its hard for me to pick my fave in Saudi 89. cos Chris Nwosu goal vs Czech had me cumming for weeks.
good goal, messi-esque. without that goal, we would have been kicked out.
won 2-1 against saudi, lost 0-1 to portugal. czech was supposed to be easy but they scored first and the nwosu magic equalizer saved the day

That Pinto in Saudi 89 final, was it Joao Pinto or Sa Pinto. In Saudi 89 who remebers Bismark Farias from Brazil?
bismark farias, i remember the dude. they hammered mali 5-0 or so and he got a brace.
he wears number 7 shirt.

Esin was shot by robbers some weeks to the tournament cruising his 505, IBB deployed the medical Arsenal to make him fit.
don't mind the party boy.

Kcjazz, I saw Kasey kellers last game last weekend. Walahi I still think he is better than most keepers right now. he made an incredible triple save in the second half.

In canada 87, I wont say Osondu was the best player for me, I was more enthralled by the wing plays of Dimeji and Emodofu. That Capellini or was it Capelilli cos We nicknamed one deadly striker in my school that name.
it's capellini(11 shirt for italy). the guy almost broke lemmy isa's spine.
he's either overaged or too talented at that level.

USSR or CCCP like on their red jersey, Do you remember Oleg Salenko being part of the team? and also in Saudi 89.
salenko - goal machine.
the guy ran riot in the first half against nigeria.

Maroc 88. I remember Humphrey Edobor. I think He played the game vs Angola where okwaraji died. But my fave laft winger was Friday "Elastic" ELAHORRR I always believed he would bring some magic.
elahor was fire. that guy is better than ryan giggs!
he doesn't stop dribbling until he gets to the corner flag.

I didnt watch China 85 I just remember NTA using some highlights from the game as adverts. Remember Fatai Atere
i saw the final - can't remember anything vividly but i get some flashes.
all i knew was nigeria won and everyone kept talking about a weird german striker that was fearsome.

Saudi 89, My favourite players were Mike Onyemachara(A name we adopted for fumbling players), Chris Ohenhen, Sam Elijah, Nduka Ugbade, Chris Nwosu, Mutiu. Osondu messed up in that tournament didnt live up to expectations
my favourite player was mutiu adepoju. favourite opponent was joao pinto.

Canada 87: Taiwo Enegwa, Dimeji Mohammed, Emodofu . Our wing play in that tournament was probably the best ever with Dimeji and Emodofu.
osondu was the mvp of the tournament - short, stocky and deadly
favourite opponent was cappellini(who i think was the best player in that tournament), moussa traore and russia's yuri nikiforov

Maroc 88. You remember Ndubusi Okosieme , Who ran 40 yards in the finals and still side netted the ball or Henry Nwosu perfect header which was disallowed, Sunday Eboigbe, I think Folorunsho Okenla or Oladunni Oyekale was there too.
nigeria vs algeria was the highlight. rabbah madjer and lakhdar belloumi.
cameroon with emmanuel kunde and roger milla. my favourite nigerian player then was humphrey edobor - a lethal left winger.

Chile 87 the ones I remembered were Adeolu Adekola, Etim Esin, John Ene Okon and Willy Okapara who was always picking tha ball out of the net
nosa osadolor(freekick specialist)
favourite opponent - alcindo, william oliveira(brazil), we couldn't even beat canada in that tournament, we drew 2-2.
naija don useless tay-tay.

but but. . . . . . .the best player i have seen in any age-grade tournament ever was marcel witeczek(german striker) - china 85
how he didn't make it in the seniors still puzzles me. he was a beast and better than everyone else in that kodak world cup.
dude was scoring goals for fun.

Not exactly. To me, every guy has an equal chance of bleeping a female. It depends on who is available. If he is the only one available when my intimate urge begins to bother me, then I would give him and that is because I want to. But if he comes up to me thinking that because he had me once, and also thinks he did an awesome job that I would let him have me another time he is kidding himself.  I would slap rejection at his face.
if he did an awesome job, you would be the one begging his friends for his number.
an inner devilish thought would be pushing you subconsciously just to see him again with the hope that shyte might happen! grin

Also: If he is as equally available as another guy when the urge stings, chances are that I might favor the other guy over him, even if the other guy has never bleeped me.
you won't favour 2 in the bush for a bird in hand.

Maybe if you have had Roy Keane grit in the middle you wouldnt have been overran by Barcelona both times.
where was keane's grit between 1993 -1998? what happened to his grit between 2000 -2005?

Do you recognize that The Man Utd  EPL of 2003-2006 faced many challenges which the 2007-2011 didnt
what challenges?
the glazers didn't heap a ship of debt on man utd until 2005.
why was ruud unable to win more than a league title in his 5 yrs at man utd? wink

Arsenal at the peak of their powers vs Arsenal that has become a joke right now
how is this relevant to the debate. did roy keane ever play for arsenal?

A roman Abromovic neaveau riche Chelsea which took everyone by surprise vs this one?

how is this relevant to the discourse. roy keane did not play for chelsea.
