Why not try David De Gea?
He has some stature of some sort given he was our best player last season. I think that is exemplary leadership even theough we had a horror season.

Plus the old timers (minus Rooney Fletcher and Carrick) that would have been in contention for the band are no longer around.

It would be interesting, though I think van Gaal would prefer loyal and experienced folk as his captain.

I think RVP being captain will do nothing to heal the apparent rift between Rooney and himself. But I may be wrong o. Just my opinion

I think they should just start making Mars habitable so that the two genders can go their separate ways and meet only after they've signed very elaborate contracts.
