elampiro2: Coogar, please explain the legend aspect. In Nigeria there is nothing legendary in robbery, it is a total thing of shame.
urban legends are incredible stories – sometimes scary, sometimes funny – which have a tantalizing bit of plausibility to them. urban legends contain many folkloric elements and they spread quickly through a community or society.

the tales are usually told dramatically, as if they are true stories that have happened to a real people, although they may in fact be fictional. local touches are often added to the legend. urban legends often carry a warning or have some significance that motivates the community in preserving and propagating it.

i love urban legends - oyenusi was a legend. each time i have culled an elder to tell me about him, they all had spine-chilling things to say about him as the most notorious armed robber in the history of nigeria.

The Top 5
• dr. oyenusi
• lawrence anini
• derico
• shina rambo
• kayode williams.

nollywood producers should gather intelligence & do movies on the stories of these urban legends & share the proceeds with their known victims. that's how it's done in the developed world.

yes, he can.....

change is constant in life. all these yahoo boys & runs girls would marry one day & their partners would expect them to change. scratch that, they would even embrace changes cos old age & marital maturity would take it's course. if we expect changes in those ones, how is this fiancée abuser any different?

i have not eaten all day - my stomach is kinda empty it almost feels like i am on acid. i had to do wuruwuru to the answer.

running on reserves now so let me deal with your query...

Not everyone was comfortable pre 08 but the career safety of the workplace took a major bashing from then on....More businesses aggressively outsourced from then to cut costs. Anyway this isnot about business history
and what caused this economic recession? is it not our collective greed. people taking up mortgages they could not afford as materialistic bonds replaced emotional bonds.

There are other points which i will liek your views on
1. why do you think male wages have suffered as a result of women entering the work force when facts show that average wages and productivity trends have been on the rise
the male wages did not suffer, it simply got overtaken by commodity prices. in order to prevent hyperinflation, prices had to go up. the law of demand & supply had to kick in. you cannot have too much money & you cannot starve to death.

The trends in the US show consistent increase in average household real incomes post war2 till 2008

https://www.cbpp.org/images/cms/11-28-11pov-f1.png
i am sure if you can find the graph of the population of women entering the work force in the same period, the graph would be similar. more women are working now than in the 50s.

2. Do you think for the majority of the working population that a single income household is sufficient to provide a reasonable standard of life
it can if it's enforced....
prices are up because energy companies know the average family income are making money. these prices are government regulated. the government want you to have just enough to spend. if 90% of the population suddenly switch back to single income household, the prices will be forced to crash. once the demand is low, prices will come down.

3. Also trends in the US on a gender basis show that avage incomes have been on the rise except for oil bust crisis of the 70s.
so is your assertion that women joining the workforce leading to a reduction in male incomes valid
you got my assertions wrong then.
women joining the workforce did not lead to a reduction in male incomes - they just made the male income redundant as the commodity prices generally went up. it means a man that could afford to feed himself & family 30 years ago can no longer do so again with the same salary.....

I did not include the UK stats due to time

http://www.cbpp.org/cms/?fa=view&id=3629

http://www.ssa.gov/policy/docs/ssb/v72n1/v72n1p1.html
it's the same everywhere, UK or not.
the government will never me & my working wife have too much to spend - hyperinflation would result from such so the prices of commodities would go up to make us have just enough. we cannot have too little & we cannot have too much. a balance must be struck to sustain the economy.

pickabeau1: The coogar...even me sef don dey confuzzled by your posts

I get that you would prefer your woman to focus exclusively on child care but i dont get the logic that women entering the labour force is the cause of the recession and subsequently depressed wages...

I believe that is as a result of the subprime bubble.

Also practically either you have a low cost of a living, someone who is unbothered by economic status or an extremely wealthy person to be able to manage a family on one income in the modern times as economic uncertainties have made such a risky proposition

Companies like GM, Chrysler staved off bankruptcy while Enron, Northern Rock have fallen by the wayside

So banking on a career for 25+ years after school like our parents did is getting impossible...

I appreciate your passion about the place of women and not outsourcing childcare but how practical are your assetions
so you mean everyone was comfortable pre-2008? are you shytting me? grin

women are the best @ multi-tasking. the average woman is better able to organise her time and switch between tasks than the average man. we wouldn't even be here if women aren't better than men at multitasking.

alutacontinua: You make it sound like it's all about getting pregnant and breast-feeding, if it's about dt, der're soooooooo many shortcuts to dt nowadays, especially d breastfeeding part. In 2013, you're making breast-feeding sound like some big work lyk dt, come on, get off it!
we don't want shortcuts, we want women to do what nature designed them to do. shortcutting? is there a womb transplant for men nowadays? ohhh - surrogate mothers? or expressing the brëastmilk into a bottle? these are the things messing up the society.

watch the still face experiment & see why a woman should be home with her baby.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apzXGEbZht0

you can see how stressed & upset the baby got when the woman stopped responding. imagine how stressed babies get when there's no mother to play with at all. it's obvious where the breakdown in the society stems from. children are being constantly neglected by their primary nurturers because the nurturers want to be "liberated".

If I understand you, you've agreed the man also has a role which should not be left to suffer because he wants to go out there to fend for the family, if the man can combine it, why can't the woman also combine?
well, if the woman agrees to work night shifts then it's workable. the only problem is not too many companies are open at nights & when the baby wakes at night in need of milk, what can the man do? abracadabra himself to produce fresh milk or what?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by coogar: 10:52pm On Dec 11, 2013
dayokanu: It was a shameful performance because they were paid to play for 90mins not switch off and act like coming on the field was a bother to them

They scored the first 2 goals didnt even bother to celebrate, everyone strolling round the field like they were doing UEFA a favor honoring the match

This still doesnt take away the fact that the game was dead rubber. In the important fixture Bayern already did the business and cant lose sleep because of a novelty game

When it counted Arsenal and City were beaten mercilessly in England and we had the benefit of playing a relaxed runout at home
the game was dead rubber for city too. you had exactly the same stake aesthetically but before the ball was kicked, bayern had more to lose if city were to win - there's a winning streak to protect moreso against a team you had already beaten away from home.

so how come city still managed to beat bayern even with a second team? city's position wouldn't change. they had no right winning that game, they had already qualified & had nothing else to play for. they left their best players at home & yet bayern still got brutally aśs-räped. cheesy
Foreign Affairs › Re: Uruguay Become The First Country To Legalise Marijuana by coogar: 10:45pm On Dec 11, 2013
guymega: Comparing alcohol to weed is like comparing sleep to death. Weed tampers with the brain cell as a matter of fact it silently kills the users neurons. Yes u can argue that alcohol damages the liver but weed has a more devastating effect. Human beings are social animals, if you are having a problem with your kidney or liver it has little or no direct impact on the society compare to someone suffering from psychological breakdown or trauma.
shhhhhh - alcohol kill people more than marijuana & class A drugs. any substance can kill if abused. even food kills when you take too much so you are barely scratching the surface here. if moderately used, marijuana is as dangerous as a glass of red wine.

nateevs: The football is appalling really. Having a large chunk of possession but no idea of what to do with it in the final third. Everyone's running around like machines but there's no particular pattern of play. No structure, non existent forward passes in area that matter and poor movement in attack.

It's like a disjointed display of individual abilities, for the umpteenth time, against a very poor side. Strikers won't score with this 'no pattern of play' and games won't be won. If the opposition were a little better, we won't win this.

1-0 sha but I worry.

alutacontinua: Nature would be put to serious trouble then!
I'm a lady and yes, I want to make a difference in the world but at the same time, i wanna have my kids. It would take a lot of wisdom and strength on my end to balance it but that's something i'm prepared to do.
i trust you - you will want your own kids. grin

I couldn't follow Mandela's burial yesterday, i've been avin some issues since saturday, i totally forgot about it but I took some time to watch a part of it today and truth be told, the man made his own mark in his own way. At the same time, i'm sure he had his own kids. Why don't we tell him not to have kids because of his struggle for emancipation.
mandela is a man.
this comparison is not quite it. the idea that a woman can drop her baby 6 months after she's put to bed so she can work should be discouraged. it does the baby no good at all.

The same thought process of a lady going out there and forget to build a family can be applied to men too.
how so? nature & biology did not dictate that. your points would have been strengthened if men could get pregnant & brëastfeed. we cannot so the baton to nurture the babies automatically goes to the woman. i cannot do what you can. grin

Nd don't tell me it's all about the woman, you have also shown us how much single mothers are not the best options, which means the men also go a loooooooonnnnnnggggg way in building up a child!
of course, the men do & this is why he should be working twice as hard to keep the family ticking. as soon as he gets back from work, he should relieve his wife so the wifey can have some rest. kids in their formative years need the attention of their mothers so much.

alutacontinua: I agree men and women are not the same thing, heck, testoterone and estrogen are like 2 entirely different worlds but putting one above the other does not make sense.
i am not putting one above the other. i am just arguing 2 different things cannot be equal. whether a woman is above or not is another argument entirely.

We're both here to make a difference, i dn't wanna look back in 60 yrs and realise all I did with my life was raise kids. I'm here for myself, my kids are super-important but just as dey are here for themselves, i'm here for myself too! Any society that thinks i'm just supposed to sit home and be feeding a grown man and his baby all d days of my life is on a long thing!
i agree - that society is on a long thing but is it not better for the woman not to have children at all so she can work as she pleases, travels as she wants & not ever needing to spoonfeed anyone?

About submission, guess we reached an agreement on dt already smiley Phew! I'm supposed to be reading, i'm outta here! cool
i don't see any big deal about submission. any man aggressively demanding for it needs to go back & do his homework. the key to achieving that is getting the woman to endlessly love the man. if a man can achieve such, submission will follow automatically without the man needing to ask for it.

elampiro: Keep struggling. It will take you a zillion years to recover from this earthquake+hurricane+volcanic eruption all with record setting on their individual bases. You never saw it coming.
you are the one struggling - how can you credit rooney for the surge in our performance when all he contributed in the first half of the season was 0 goals from open play. 1 penalty league goal all season - if any other player did that, you would be ginning for his head.

Even after the Wigan game we were still not top. So the fact remained that we went on a strong run when Rooney returned. From that ending of November or so, we came from behind, levelled then strengthened the lead as Rooney went on a run of games.
0 goals from open play between march 2010 & jan 2011. that's 9 months without scoring a pure goal & his return took us to the top? how can a striker who didn't score a goal for united in about 8 months get the credits for taking us to the top? this logic of yours should be buried. what about the golden inputs of berba/chicharito & nani?

you quickly changed subject to rooney is like iniesta? how? iniesta can get away with not contributing assist & goals cos he plays in a team where short passing in the final third is a norm. it's different with rooney. rooney's contribution always shows in his goals/assists. if he's not scoring or assisting & playing as a CF/AM then rooney must have played shyte.
