arbeola should have been sent off......he was the one doing the dangerous play. nani never saw him coming, he saw nani's foot high in the air and still decided to clatter with nani. this is akin to a player diving low to head a ball meant for another player to kick.

nani wasn't tackling arbeola, he was focused on controlling the ball, his eyes were fixed on the ball throughout until arbeola came from nani's blindside and clattered into him. nobody was expecting a red card - the referee had an agenda.

he had sent off balotelli, terry, cahill, etc in the past and he's always been a red card-happy official. it was the worst refereeing decision i have seen all year. that pivotal moment changed the dynamics of a 50-50 game.

babuji: You decided Toju was a good enough candidate for the husband and so you started doing everything you did for his predecessor, cooking and cleaning, being just the perfect wife material but that ended abruptly too the day he told you tearfully he couldn’t marry you because you are an Ijebu girl. This time you wept uncontrollably and begged him with everything he held dear, but he assured you it wasn’t his decision, that his family mandated him to break up with you and there was nothing he could do
about it. He told you how much he still loved you but insisted he had to let you go. It was two weeks to your passing out, you were devastated, you had already started planning the wedding in your mind, you had even picked the aso ebi in your mind, you were already sure of what you want the wedding colours to be.

montelik: I thought you said we played with wingers. I see only one winger in that line-up and before you try to claim Park, he played in the middle similar to Welbeck on Tuesday. We were bold, but we certainly paid respect to Milan's strengths as well, by packing the midfield. Just like we did on Tuesday. You are complaining Rooney didn't play tuesday, yet SAF preferred to leave Valencia and Berba out against Milan in 2010 for added steel of Park and Fletcher. But since we won convincingly you are trying to rewrite how we set up and played.
you are admitting we were bolder and yet drawing parallels to the game in madrid. united liked up 4-3-3 on the night. one of park or fletcher owned the right flank, nani was on the left with rooney in the centre. it was from the right flank fletcher drilled a cross when scholes scored the first goal! unlike the dross formation in madrid taking out rooney completely from the game......by making him a wingback.....

StarBoard: And Ronaldo has never shown up on big European nights previously?
Ronaldo, a perrenial WPOTY candidate is whom you are using to justify your argument? How can you draw parallels between van Persie and Ronaldo?
Apples and oranges, my friend. They are not in the same category of player abeg.
Fact is, van Persie has NEVER been one to do the biz on big CL nights.
scour the pages of this forum in 07/08 circa - ronaldo's biggest critics then used to say he wasn't a big-game player. as at the time he missed a pen in nou camp, he wasn't the WPOTY then, kaka was!

van persie has never disappointed in champions league nights - he played for an inferior team to start with and yet he's scored against barcelona, milan, man utd, dortmund, etc.

Van Persie had at least two clear attempts with only the keeper to beat in that game in Madrid. He should have scored at least ONCE in both legs given the clear-cut opportunities he had. Leave this conversion rate thing. It's just a way you have manufactured to defend inefficient people being paid large salaries.
the only clear cut chance he had, he thought he was offside and he just swung at the ball half-heartedly expecting the line assistant to flag him down. i agree he should have scored but what about the golden goals he's scored for us at the death of most games this season?

Wayne Rooney killed Milan at Old Trafford and the San Siro with two goals from how many attempts? Answers on a post-card please.
we were bolder in approach - we didn't hide in our shells giving undue respect to real madrid. we went for it against milan and with all due respect to milan, they are not as good as this madrid side.

Enough said.Nail on the head.
If coogar wants to credit a goal Arshavin scored to van Persie or include a very late goal when United were 4-0 up on aggregate as a big goal just to justify his point, then that is his opinion.
are you claiming van persie never scored against barcelona at the emirates? if not the equaliser, he scored the all-important first goal for arsenal after going 2 goals down....he kept arsenal in it before arshavin scored a tap-in. van persie's curler is the best you would ever see from a highly acute angle!

Van Persie is just an EPL player. For all the creativity in the Dutch side at Euro 2012 and World Cup 2010, he doesn't have a brilliant record either at national team level at the big stage.
van persie is a world class player - no question about his ability on and off the ball! he can score and create at the same time. his close control is top draw - in the same echelon with xavi, iniesta and berbatov!

yes, we were......way bolder!
united lined up in a 4-3-3, carrick, fletcher and scholes in the mid-3, park + rooney + nani played as the front 3. i ask again, what's so defensive about this formation? when nani got subbed, valencia replaced him.

Pass that blunt to the left
goals alone is not productivity..... creating goals is as important as scoring goals. if torres is not scoring, he's creating. when demba ba isn't scoring, he's not assisting.

dayokanu: Demba ba 2 league goals 2 cup game goals
Torres 0 league goals 1 cup game goal
Tell us why Torres is still failing when compared to Demba ba. In the same club with the same service
demba ba has failed even more than torres......i computed their contribution the other night. torres has been directly involved in 15 league goals this season, ba only has goals and no assists. logic knows he would have scored about 5 league goals in the same period at newcastle!

Cut back? Torres was released free on goal all he needed to do was jab the ball one touch and what did the did do? he cleared it back out of danger. What a dunce
jab which ball? there's no accuracy in jabbing!
he would miss it if he jabs - he has little time to bring the ball down, aim and hit the target in one fell swoop. he knew the goalie was coming off the line and he intelligently cut the ball back for an onrushing player to tap into the net......

let me show you a similar goal - giggs/rooney against arsenal @ highbury! watch at 1.17sec. intelligent players do the unpredictable - see rooney's cutback and giggsy's sublime finish. i am sure a fool would say why didn't rooney shoot first time when he got the ball?

dayokanu: How come Demba ba has 4 goals since january and Torres has 1 despite playing more games
which 4 goals? ba has 2 league goals and no assists - how many goals and assists has torres in the same period in the league?

An example of the chances Torres wasted yesterday. Check the lovely ball flighted to him and what Torres did with it.
Later we would be told he doesnt get chances. I would make a gif of it when I get home

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqLnwjbavgQ
that was a brilliant cut-back - unfortunately, chelsea players are daft. torres would have been crowded out if he had done the predictable thing there......so he cuts back cos he knew keeper was already off his line. if his teammates read the situation well, that's a tap-in into the empty net.

it's just like saying pirlo's back pass for zambrotta in 2006 to eliminate germany was idiotic! no, it's not - torres did that to take the goalie and the defenders out of the equation. see his reaction after cutting back - he expected the other dunces to react but they were all ball watching!

park to shackle pirlo? lolololol
who did rooney shackle in the game? ronaldinho? grin wink i am sure scholes also shackled pato! how many players can you shackle?

against madrid, welbeck shackled alonso, rooney shackled ozil/di maria and valencia shackled ronaldo. that's 30% of our attacking outlets doing defensive jobs. where do you expect the support to come from then?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by coogar: 8:17pm On Mar 08, 2013
Cristalz: I like your imagination grin.
That's not a tactic; it's the action of a striker who doesn't feel confident enough to go for goal himself, so he stalls and waits for midfielders (for God's sake!) to go ahead of him while he feeds them.
"Advancing runners" indeed. Torres is the main man meant to be advancing - that is the tactic. Feeding a midfielder once in a while is okay, but getting comfy in that imagined "role" is cowardice. Just imagine RVP doing that in every game he plays.
I mean, what striker in his right mind doesn't want goals to his name??
action of a striker? which action?
what a striker does with the ball is dependent of the delivery he gets! hit the ball ahead of him precisely and he has no option that to shoot. hit the ball slightly behind him and he has to hold, beat his marker or hold it till support comes and then slip a pass in their path! have you ever seen mata, oscar or hazard take the ball to the bye-line and drill a cross into the six yard box like traditional wingers do?

But let's flip the coin and assume that it is indeed a "tactic", which only means one thing. Turning an out-and-out striker, a goal poacher a la Dimitar Berbatov into some dude who waits for "a long ball to be passed to him with his back toward the goal" so he can feed it to "advancing runners" is simply an acknowledgement that this erstwhile goal poacher is now useless in front of goal.
that was what pundits like dayo thought of berbatov in 08/09 and 09/10 as well. berbatov copped obscene number of assists while scoring little. if you look at those games closely, berbatov actually operated behind rooney and valencia. berbatov holds the ball, wait for valencia to sprint past him, slips him the ball and valencia would then deliver a peach of a cross on rooney's forehead.......few seasons later(tactics changed), berbatov won the golden boot, an award rooney has never won in england! how can a striker be useless for 2 straight seasons and then win the golden boot? logic-defying, isn't it?

They learned to do that when time proved that Torres would only ruin their hard work in front of goal. Go figure. The second reason for that is, they simply do not find Torres in the right goal-scoring position to be passed to.
they learned to do that because they are poorly trained! wingers should be aiding the lead striker to score. with all due respect, are we saying valencia too cannot cut in from the right, run towards the goal and shoot on sight from the acute angle? it's poor training - the chelsea coaching staff are dire tactically to be allowing such.

Then again, I thought you said that was the "tactic"-play the ball behind Torres so that he can hold it then make assists for the other guys advancing ahead of him. Why are you now blaming the wingers for following the tactic?
Make up your mind, Coogar.
the question should be why are fans blaming torres for not scoring? if the chelsea coaching crew are happy with the way things are then the fans should be too. don't blame torres for not scoring, blame the tactics! a striker should not be making more assists than he's scored - it begs the question, who is torres assisting? these are not assists from set-play like van persie, rooney or suarez........they are all from open play! if torres is assisting as many as 8 - is he still a "striker" in the sense of the most advanced player?

i need answers.........

nitlad: This is the point I'm trying to underline;
Rooney's goal against Barca at Wembley is hardly regarded as a career high, but was/still being eulogized to high heavens for the ruthless manner with which he vanquished Milan 3 years ago!
like i said, the tactics had a lot to do with those games. united were bold against ac milan home and away. wingers played where they were supposed to play and the midfielders played where they should be. no special plan to shackle pirlo or shackle ronaldinho! a manager must believe in his team at this level! fergie paid too much respect to madrid!

Arising from the fore-going I can boldly say RVP has not proven his mettle yet in the grandest manner possible on the continent!
who has done that @ arsenal? since the henry era, which arsenal player has proved his mettle in elite europe? this is a witchhunt!

dayokanu: He was the most wasteful vs AC Milan and should be blamed for their exit.
without van persie, they wouldn't even have qualified to play ac milan in the first place. he literally carried arsenal on his back single-handedly!

Scored the winning goal vs Barcelona? Was that not Arshavin
i cannot remember vividly - whether it was the 2-1 game or the 2-2 duel. i remember van persie bending one into valdez's net with his left foot. those 2 clubs played plenty of games within a short frame of time.

the first half of the one that ended 2-2 was the best 45 mins of a football game in the history of football! barcelona were humongously scary. the passing, class and panache was just top draw.

Cristalz: LOL, are you serious? grin Why does he get positioned as point man then when they go 4-5-1? He is a striker, what else are you primarily supposed to focus on if not goals?
yes, he gets positioned in the striking role but if you see the heatmap, the floating 3 behind him advance further than him. the tactic is basically hit a long ball to torres with his back towards the goal. he holds the ball and plays a pass to the advancing runners! it's the same way spurs are using adebayor for bale, lennon and dempsey to score goals. 8 assists for a striker who does not take set-pieces? insanity!

Good 'ol Abraham did not spend 50 million to have him assist. He was bought to score.
Dem Liverpool guys must have jazzed him when he left.
that's what £50m can buy him when he surrounds a striker with 3 inverted wingers and not linear ones. the passes should be ahead of torres not behind him. the wingers rarely run the ball to the bye-line like valencia and nani do. they cut in, push torres to the flanks and score!

7 goals and 8 assists? it should be 13 goals and 2 assists or 15 goals and 0 assist!

United vs Cluj would hardly get Busby Way to hold breath in attention, not to talk of the rest of the footballing world!
this is laughable!

those showdowns are always tight affairs with fine margins and even then RVP has scores his own share of goals in big games. he scored 3 goals against dortmund last season at arsenal, scored against ac milan - do they qualify as big games?

in the penultimate season, he scored a winner against barcelona at the emirates - is that a big game? he didn't participate in 09/10 because of injuries that limited his appearances. in 08/09, he scored against man utd in the semis at the emirates - is that a big game?

dayokanu: How many goals has your friend Fernandud scored this season?

in 37 starts all competition. He has failed woefully. 3 Europa league games and he cant even muster a shot on target
this argument is redundant when people focus on goals - chelsea do not use torres as a pure striker tasked to just finish! the number of assists he generates is a testament to that. you cannot ignore his assists - 8 league assists alone from a striker. demba ba for instance hasn't copped that in any 2 seasons combined!

that is the same van persie that bailed us out in the away games in the group stage of the same competition. working brilliantly in tandem with rooney and brushing the opposition aside. strikers don't fail in big games - the tactics get altered mostly by the managers!

can we say mata froze in last season's champions league when chelsea only managed 28% possession home and away? is that mata's fault?

StarBoard: Unfortunately, the tactics were responsible for the misses that could have gotten us through especially when put through on goal.
Unfortunately his Champions League record is something we should wave aside, even if it is a glaring fact.
the tactics limited the number of clear-cut chances united would have had in games such as this one. strikers don't have more than 20-30% conversion rate. it means van persie would only score 2-3 goals in 10 chances.

ronaldo scored only 2 goals in more than 30 shots he had against man utd!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 4:56pm On Mar 08, 2013
that article is rubbish - i cannot fault van persie's effort in those 2 legs. defensive football takes out creative players from the game. against barcelona and bayern last season, juan mata was humongously useless too - the tactics play a huge role. with 2 linear wingers and wayne rooney dovetailing, van persie would have scored 2-3 goals in both legs.

StarBoard: Thank you nitlad.
My point exactly about van Persie.
Just a Premier League striker that goes missing in big games in Europe in my view. So I'm wondering whether it was worth buying him. A solid middle man woulda done United better than van Persie abeg.
like ronaldo went missing in the 2 legs semi-final battle against barcelona? if you set up defensively, it's a futile exercise having creative players on the pitch.

Inept striker scored at the Bernabeu.
The accurate one fluffed three good chances in the same game.
you tell us who among the two in the two ties was inept.
Inept Striker prevented the accurate one from hitting target by scuffing his shot tamely off target.
inept striker scored from a cornerkick - hardly any brilliant play. good delivery meets a good header from 4 yards. you are wondering whether we should have bought van persie? well - the stats are there for you to see. his goals, his assists, last minute winners!

can't wait for this season to end - it's been a frustrating one. the fa cup too would soon suffer a hiccup the moment we face a bottom side team. fergie would then line up unfit players and the ones just coming back from injury. he would put giggs as a captain to mark his 12,000th appearance in the competition and we would lose again - then the fergie apologists would understand why he rested key players for a league game against west ham.

StarBoard: Too acute to make clean contact and hit target or make the keeper work?
Don't agree, nucca.
You're making excuses for a very inept performance over two legs by RvP.
and you don't think the inept performance could have stemmed from the fact that van persie had a mediocre partner in welbeck. our most potent performances this season had rooney dovetailing van persie. i reiterate, watch the away games at city, chelsea, newcastle, etc.

It's not the first time Rooney has been played out of position.
It's not a new thing for him either. He did that at the latter end of Ronaldo's tenure at United. His performance at Madrid was below par for me, even as a Rooney supporter.
As poor as he was at the Bernabeu, how can you judge that he would play better than Giggs did? Please do not use the games vs Norwich and QPR as a reason.
and when has rooney ever performed playing as a winger? he is put there for a defensive purpose not for the attacking purpose......rooney is a striker not a winger and i think he should be more selfish. his selflessness is the reason fergie can shove him here and there to the benefit of bambis like welbeck and giggsy. if rooney has refused from day one he would not be used as a sacrificial lamb then fergie would have bought defensive wingers.

as poor as he was at the bernebau? playing as what? a central attacking player or a winger? why shouldn't we put the games against norwich/qpr into consideration? when a player is in form then he's in form. by the same token, how did giggs get a starting berth when he has not put in a convincing performance for aeons? welbeck deserves his start(ahead of evra)......the position behind van persie belongs to rooney(half fit or quarter fit). nobody does it better than him!

Cristalz: SAF pointed out that Giggs was the best player on the pitch on Tuesday.
Am I going with Fergie or Coogar on this. . .I think Fergie has it. grin
what would you have said in his shoes? seriously? i didn't expect him to blame his own tactics(which i thought was a gamble). if we had won, i would be apologising for calling it wrong but we lost -

The gaffer's choice of tactics turned out to be a good one. His choice of players was his prerogative and it worked well for the chosen tactic; he had a game plan which it seemed he was gonna execute in stages till the red card happened and his brain underwent a Turkish semi-freeze.
that's the problem.......
some pundits feel rooney/rvp duo in attack would have done more damage in the first half to cushion the effect of a turkish brainfreeze. it appears hindsight but why leave room for hindsight? when barca lose no one says this one or that one should have started - because they always always start their strongest team. if they lose then it's because they weren't good enough on the day. it's not the same with man utd!

Lay off Giggs already. He didn't deny Rooney anything. Ferguson did.
if giggs had simply retired after shägging his brother's wife, would fergie have included him in the starting line-up. are you guys aware gary neville would have featured on tuesday if he didnt retire, same as scholes(if he isn't currently injured)?

Well, I care about Sunday. Two trophies are still better than one.
Besides, would be a lot of fun to beat Chelsea.
i am not that confident!
expect to see schmeichel, paul parker, mike phelan in the team. cathy ferguson might partner hernandez in the attack.

StarBoard: Yeah but if van Persie converted one of those chances in Madrid, the red card might not have been an issue. You cannot divorce the events of the first leg from the second. It's a two-legged tie.
No mention of the chance created by the much-maligned Giggs for van Persie in the first half that he scuffed.
Please lay off the criticism. Giggs did well.
had madrid needed 4 goals to qualify on tuesday, they would have gotten it after the red card. they took their foot off the gas after the 2nd goal knowing they don't need to score more and even if we had equalised, they would still have gone through! that was a half-chance giggs created - nothing van persie could have done better than that, the angle was acute!

How was his performance in Madrid?
I wouldn't benchmark his form vs lowly Norwich and QPR to vouch for his place on the starting line-up vs Real Madrid. Your last statement masks your criticism of him so far this season.
his performance in madrid is irrelevant - he was played out of position!
play falcao as a winger too and let's see how effective he would be. rooney is a centre forward or a support striker - asking him to do something else is stretching it. rooney should have played behind van persie, welbeck on the left and nani on the right! we would have had a more threatening attack plus rooney/welbeck can press than having a clueless giggs on the pitch throughout the game........
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 11:41am On Mar 08, 2013
montelik: If you concede that Welbeck deserved his start in the middle after the brilliant job that he did on Alonso, then you are scapegoating as Cristalz says. Have you seen Rooney's performances when played wide this season, did you see how awful he was in Madrid? When Cristalz pointed it out, you claimed he was out of position and excused his poorness, which is true and I agree. But yet you think despite his consistently poor play (when wide this season) he should still have played on the wing just so you wouldn't have put up with Giggs in the starting eleven. You are complaining more on sentiment just cause you no longer want Giggs to play in any important games for United. If you were actually being genuine you would have called for Valencia/Young to take the Giggs position rather than all this crying over Rooney.

I am done talking about Tuesday night.
welbeck deserved to start - i didn't say he deserved to start from the rooney role. rooney put up a wonderful performance in the game before the madrid one. 2 assists and one wonder goal - isn't that enough to guarantee him a start? rooney might not have done the job to man-mark alonso like welbeck did but rooney is a bigger threat to madrid than welbeck. alonso would be the one worrying what rooney can do not the other way round.

StarBoard: Half-chances?
Please o.Danny Welbeck got himself into positions where he could threaten. Robin van Persie had one early in the first half.He didn't even manage to make clean contact.
Besides what if I blamed Van Persie for the ones he missed at the Bernabeu?
we did well enough in the first leg 1-1. i cannot ask for more
we weren't eliminated because of the first leg, but for the 2nd leg. let's discuss why we had an unbalanced team against madrid on our own soil. we didnt have to respect madrid too much. rooney should have started, welbeck should be protecting evra and nani should be protecting rafael. giggs had no business in that line-up. we would have definitely scored more goals!

Coogar is now advocating for a player he once labelled as the worst in terms of " bottom-level" to be given a chance to play against Real, just to give his argument credence.Interesting.
but rooney's form is currently good!
he had gotten 1 goal and 2 assists in the game before madrid. in raw stats, rooney has 11 goals + 9 assists in 20PL games as a supporting striker - he's been very good this season!

If Welbeck took "the Rooney role" and has a worse finishing than your dear granny, why pick on Giggs? Especially when he was faultless.

Agree to disagree, C. This is becoming old.
welbeck got a start because he works hard. he sat on alonso throughout and alonso disappeared in the first half - i cannot remember anythin significant xabi did in the first half. welbeck didn't get the nod because he's got any exquisite skill. giggs denied rooney a start(this is where my problem is)!

In other news....Chelsea lost tonight. Weak performance that made a lil' attempt at picking up near the end of the 2nd half.
They weren't organized defensively....Bertrand was a sorry story. Guess Ashley got rested for Sunday.
If our guys are on top of their game, we should nail 'em nicely.
i don't even care about sunday again.
they should just win the league and forget this season already.......with that wonderful squad as ours, it's a mare we got eliminated the way we did. what a shame!!!!
While I agree with your point that not all jobs require a degree, your response here is totally out of point and a bit puerile.
I agree with you some jobs don't require a degree. But the jobs you refer to requires technical skills and knowledge acquired through technical learning and practical experience. At the end of the day, the number of years required to get to that level of skill and practical knowledge is equivalent to acquiring a degree.
and those technical skills and knowledge acquired can be achieved by the company's in-house training. halliburton, amec, worleyparsons, etc conduct this training on a regular basis. i don't know why you are backing out now that some jobs don't require a degree - most jobs especially in your highly-prized oil/gas industry don't require a university degree. you can acquire association degrees and earn fat pay! nothing beats experience and skillset. a degree certificate is just a piece of paper!

flexyonline: When you are found out you resort to abuses and insults abi? You sound like an ACN supporter. I'm still waiting on your definition of what a petroleum engr does in your own understanding and not google definition. Hope you realize that All those semi-illiterate (as you call them) oyinbos that work as operators and technicians in the oil field are not petroleum engineers and do not work as petroleum engineers
i don't care what the duties of a petroleum engineering are - in hierarchy, you are under me.... my scope as an electronic/electrical engineer is wider. i can tumble and run chaos in every engineering discipline including agric engineering. you can only work in the oil/gas industry(under me). i design the tools you are working with - you cannot earn wages until i tell you it's safe to do so. so stop talking and pay attention when the "real" engineers are talking. i have fur, you have wool. i have paws, you have hooves.

Cristalz: And you know this because....your crystal ball said so, perhaps?

And FYI, you avoided answering why chances, or "half chances" (in your opinion) were created for Welbeck but mysteriously weren't created for RVP.
Welbeck must have two heads!

Or here's a thought. . .maybe RVP was simply too ill-positioned for his teammates to find. It wasn't about having Rooney on or not.
Plus, most of the time when RVP did get the ball, quoting a friend that saw the game with me..."na RVP sef dey spoil ball"
RVP had half-chances....the one he heard in the second half that the madrid goalie saved with his shoulder from an acute angle. just like i said, they were just half-chances. the role played by welbeck is the rooney role and rooney shoots sharper than welbeck. welbeck is just a hardworker - his finishing is worse than my grandma's when she's in the loo. grin

montelik: If that is true then he should GTFO. After mugging us for £250k per week, and hasn't even improved since his bumper pay rise, he can go sharpish. Good riddance, lets see if he will find anyone beyond the money miss roads across town, in London or Paris who will pay such wages. White Pele my a**. Kagawa scored a hat-trick this weekend and was benched, no one is screaming as to why he was left out. Evans was faultless in Madrid, yet was also dropped. Rubbish and nonsense.
kagawa was bullied throughout in the first leg....there's no reason to start him again and cede territorial advantage to madrid.
the rooney one is the one making fans scratch their heads.....a quarter-fit rooney is a dangerous player on the pitch. varane would have been raped had rooney been on the pitch. the understanding between RVP and rooney would have been too much for the madrid defence but fergie screwed up big time.

isn't that how he played giggs ahead of tevez and berbatov in 2009 champions league final too? the only time we won the champions league in the last 5 yrs, giggs did not start both legs in the semis and he didn't start in the final. the only chance he had when he came on, he missed it with a gaping goal in sight.

is ryan giggs bad luck? the facts agree with me.

flexyonline: Guy your posts are just filled with fallacies of improper assumption. The fact that you assume those guys do not have a degree does not make it true. I can confidently say you are an outsider to the oil industry. You hear gists here and there and use your native intelligence to fill in spaces and make it sound like you are informed. And I didn't see petroleum engineering in the list you posted. You think talking about their pay makes any impression. Guy if I start talking pay here you people will accuse me of arrogance again.
look at this mumu.....
i have been working in the oil industry before you stepped foot in a class to take MTH101 lessons...
are you shyting me? which stupid oil industry? from the kashagan fields to baku oil fields, where haven't i been in this world of constant travelling. better stop talking because you think you have a petroleum engineering degree - the narrowest discipline ever in the engineering world.

flexyonline: Guy I have worked in Aberdeen. There are no such petroleum engineers there.
that's the problem - it's easy to think all those dudes have a university degree but they don't! their years of experience and an associate's degree are what got them there. let me close this argument once and for all.

these are the top 40 paying jobs that don't require a university degree.....

http://www.businessinsider.com/the-40-highest-paying-jobs-you-can-get-without-a-bachelors-degree-2012-8?op=1

i doubt you make as much as the ones in the top 10 with your "reputable" petroleum engineering job! don't argue with logic - anyone that has a GCE certificate can/will do your job even better than you.

flexyonline: How does this vitiate my point? Pet engr is what I do and you have said secondary school leavers can do the job. For that assertion to be true there should be examples.
come to the UK, i will take you to aberdeen and meet engineers who never stepped foot in any uni and are managing big time projects. they are the ones that would even decide what you should earn on a daily basis! are you kidding me?

dayokanu: Now to your question after Ife I worked in a Bank. The skills I used to get the job and the work I did there had Nothing to do with my Chemical Engineering training I received from Ife.

Infact after SSCE I could pass that Maths and English test and perform the banking duties.

Most people who work in banks would tell you the same thing.

You work in a bank, as a marketer earning 300k How did your degree in Physics help you in that? You work in a Bank as a teller How did your Mechanical Engineering help with that? Infact in some banks OND's perform the same role

In other job functions I have done after tha Banking experience I have applied some stufs I learnt as an Engineer but many of my colleagues have been bank workers since then and never used any Calculus, Numerical analysis, navier Stokes, Nor Runge-Kutta methods
this dayo go sabi math o.........
laplace transforms, runge-kutta(cheiiiii) gauss-seidel, jacobi method, etc.....
