jennykadry: Yes. If the teachers had minded their business, they would be no slap. I said it on this forum once or many times that in 2010, I slapped a teacher who slapped my niece, NIECE OOO not daughter. You don't hurt people close to me and expect to get away with it. I am not against disciplining a child and I have made that known here many times but when you decide to over-use your power of authority because you think the other person is helpless or isn't the right place to confront you, then you must be wicked.
if you feel so strongly about someone slapping your neice, how much more if you perceive one toothpick-legged chic is mistreating your son. the same son you carried for 9 months and spent the top dollar on? abegi, you would do worse than the op's MIL.

Coogar, I did not marry my husband for any eediot to insult him directly and/or indirectly. The day any sister, uncle, aunty, father, mother, brother insults my husband, I will figuratively kill that person. I protect my own, I don't leave them out to be eaten alive by beasts and I expect my husband to do same and even more.

I repeat, there is only so much a human being can take. ME, I was born strong, tough and ready to send to hell witches and wizards in human form. I don't beg to be noticed and I don't expect an inlaw to do same. I am bringing up my kids same way. My daughters must have that spirit of a "tiger" and (Peaceful) in them. That has brought me so far, that was what attracted their father to me in the first place cool

shymexx: Bro, I have met tons of feisty chics... However, most of them are just superficial with no substance - and easy beat when the smoke clears...

But this chic is different... This is London and my CV is crazy, trust me!!!

When a chic tells you she's never dated a black guy because of some stereotypical crap, however, she loves Afrobeats and has been to naija clubs in Central London(Obviously, hang out with black folks)... Then you'll definitely feel a little bit intimidated because every black guy out there has some stereotypical stuffs, either subconsciously or consciously that they exhibit - and that might put her off completely... It's just that fear - and you also can't intimidate her with anything whatsoever because she's a top chic...

Educate me on what game to play? - I'm all ears, bro...
intimidated because she's never dated a black man?
that's even enough incentive for you to win the grand prize. just be yourself and tell her in no clear terms you are not one of the negroes in the backstreet of london. let her see your worth herself without having to brag. the class in you should speak for itself!

shymexx: I met this half-naija chic recently and she literally killed the pseudo-alpha-male crap I thought I had.. We chat like almost everyday and we've gone out together on a few dates.... However, the more I chat to this chic, the more my over-bloated ego gets deflated.

She's just 19 and not exaggerating, her body is super-duper crazy like Bria Myles' body(I just wish I could post her pics but I won't for privacy reasons)... Attended the top private schools in the UK from the nursery to college level and currently an Economics undergraduate at Cambridge University(Clare College)... She has like the poshest British accent I've ever heard a Black Briton speak - it's Princess-Diana/Royal-Family-esque... Overly intelligent, smart, and knowledgeable for her own good - and she knows about everything from religions(Taoism, Abrahamic, Hinduism, Buddhism, Pastafarianism, Ifa, Native South American religions etc.), cultures (Europe, Africa, far east, and remote places in Oceania and South America), Computing, Politics(from realpolitik in Whitehall, Washington, Africa, to the Eastern bloc), international relations etc..

I was jamming with this chic in the car a few days ago - and she started feeling my body and biceps... I thought that was the "green-light" - tried kissing her beautiful posh lips and she said; no... We continued our convo. and I dropped her off after that... Subsequently, she rang my phone and told me she has never dated a black guy because of what I did - and started ranting about how most black guys are this and that blah blah... I was just dumbfounded!!... God knows I have been around the "block" and I've met different types/creeds of people... I also graduated from a Russell Group University and I've met different classes of people - however, this chic is basically different... She's a rebel!! - I've never met anyone like her, to be honest...

We've agreed to meet-up again this weekend... Right now, I'm having goosebumps because I'm a realist and I've got some "niggerish" attitudes that might put her off completely... However, I'm also fascinated by this chic because of her rebellious ways and her level of intellectualism(she's darn too knowledgeable and intelligent for her age)...

Have you ever experienced something similar?? - share your story, I'll like to know the end game...
send her to me....she shall be tamed within 30 mins!

Do FILs go around trying to assert their authority or making snide remarks in another man's house? Nonsense
of course they do - fathers in law are even worse......but the husbands can take it cos there are no deeper issues involved. anyways, i trust my mother sha - she's straight old school. that wife would kiss her clenched fist the moment she threw my food away and it would be me trying to haul her off my wife while she sits on her with her fat bottom!

Continue crying for poor mummy, if the mama has respect she wont find herself in this situation. grin
and if the wife respects her husband, she won't lash out!
it simply means wifey has anger management issues that need to be sorted out! a woman that does not respect me is not worth it. even if my mum does not reply her with a befitting slap, i would. after all, they say it's not real love if the cops are not called with one of us handcuffed and thrown into a police van. grin

stillwater: Abeggi, fathers have also done a lot (I will always love my daddddyyyyyyy cool), and we don't hear them making noise or overstepping their boundaries in another man's house.
and this is because husbands respect their father inlaws - there's no jealousy at all between men cos they understand each other more and there's no reason to be envious. i doubt any husband would flip out because his father inlaw is cooking for the daughter....men don't just behave irrationally and irresponsibly like the hormonally- fraudulent beings called women!

Mothers should have respect for themselves. There is no way I will support uncouth behavior from the older one who ought to know better than constituting herself as a public nuisance. I don't do sentiments like you buttered my bread, you sugared my tea, so that gives you the right to act like a witch? Rubbish
spare me this rubbish!
would you ask your mother out of your house if she errs? what then gives you the right to ask another woman out of the house because you cannot stand him? yet without her, you wouldn't have the man to marry in the first place. women want respect from the men folk and yet they canno't respect fellow women - shame on y'all!

@ proudly9ja,

it's so easy
city and chelsea have ensured arsenal don't attract quality players anymore. without quality players, there wouldn't be quality performance - you can fill in the blanks. as at 95, arsenal had bergkamp(british record signing)....as at 2000, arsenal could boast of henry, wiltord, pires and vieira(euro 2000 champs)...that's the equivalent of iniesta, david villa, xavi and busquets.......
how can you not see the moneybags have spoilt the market for the gunners?

My mother raised me up without my father. when I grew to certain age, she narrated how she sold Ogogoro, yam etc just to feed I and my other siblings and at this point, she was traveling from one state to another. she later got blessed and had the opportunity of being a major supplier of building materials for the construction of Teslim Balogun stadium in the late 80s to early 90s before the project was later abandoned.

From there she tried has hands on other businesses, transpotation, publishing of note books etc. This are just the few that woman sacrificed for me and my siblings just for us to have a better life.

And how do you expect me to watch a woman abuse her in my presence? How? So unfortunate that she never lived long to eat the fruit of her labour.

babyosisi: This poster is currently living with her MIL
You can't possibly expect that she would chronicle the day to day run ins with her MIL on that short post
What she gave were highlights
Most people reading it know that what she did with the food was an action borne out of a long period of frustration
which it makes it justified, right?
she's been so frustrated now means she should throw the food her husband is eating in the presence of her inlaw? wow - how great is that? may God save us from these naija women from kerosene/firewood backgrounds! attractive on the crust, rotten in the core!

If you read the post well, you will see that she started by telling us the criticisms her MIL had of her cooking skills, her mothering skills, her wifely and home keeping skills
So her snatching and throwing away food which is what you choose to dwell on is quite minute compared to the big picture. I looked at the big picture and responded from that vantage point
why has it taken her so long to address this issue? anyway you wanna look at it, this woman is a bad wife. if my mum comes and she's making my wife miserable then i expect my wife to tell me her dissatisfaction then i can tell my mum to not to overstep her boundaries.

this wife kept bottling her emotions - suffering and smiling!!!
is that the moral her parents taught her? is that the principle the scriptures taught her? which of the holy books encourage a wife to disrespect her elders or even bottle up her emotions? no wonder there are more divorcees out there than singles.....

The woman even devised a witch story so as not to leave
Can't you see mama here has issues and is part of the problem?
Read her again
witch issues are fillers/sweeteners so that gullible people like yourself can empathise with the story-teller. witch stories in the 21st century! did she marry a stark illiterate? "poor me - my mother inlaw is driving me crazy, she's accused me of being a witch/whöre and jefferey dahmer's accomplice. she can fück right off with her heap of porkies!

It takes wisdom and common sense
In as much as a woman should respect her MIL,a man also needs to respect his wife and know when she has been overstretched and recognize when his mother is being a total a$$ and kindly remove her from the situation.
Mother is not always right
so mama cooking food for her own son to eat is her acting like an arseholë? may thunder fire all you politically-correct tools. i reiterate, that woman is yet to be born. not even my dad would get away with insulting my sweet mother in my presence.

armyofone: Interesting like something imaginary had that girl? Not a woman had the girl, raised her, trained her etc? The girl's mom didn't go through tears, pains of toasters disturbing her daughter, frequent prayers to see her settle with the right man etc...huh shocked
and something imaginary taught her to insult women old enough to be her mum, right?

People should be considerate of the other person. Remember, a woman raised that woman who became your wifey.
yes a woman did - and she must have done an awful job in home training for her daughter to insult her mother in-law. if that's what obtains in their family where daughters can openly insult mothers then they can have their daughter back and gimme back my bride price...................and my goat!

I will not disrespect mama but shall don't take side just because you walked the nostalgic lines of what Nne did. Afterall my Nne did the same now. If you do, I will gladly return the goat and bride price myself . I will add drums of upwine and all the fowls you bought back to you with happiness. that night, will get me ol' Remy Martins to thank the gods.
it's not about taking sides - this case is a total disrespect of the mother in-law just because she cooked for her own son. there are other ways to show one's dissatisfaction rather than throwing her husband's food away and asking her mother in-law to leave the house. dang it, heads would roll!

coded guy: So what happens when/if eventually Arsenal don't qualify for the money spinning champions league? I say this cause its getting tougher by the day, they managed to come 3rd last season by what many will describe as a result of the capitulation of spurs. Many taught they woludn't make the CL last year.
if they don't qualify for the champions league, then blame the board for not releasing money, no? look at arsenal in the last 3 seasons, the board is now making money from their transfer account. they sold nasri, van persie, adebayor, kolo toure, clichy, fabregas, alex song and they never replaced them back with the same quality. i can understand if the players just got fed up and asked to be sold - and the money made was then used to purchase players with equal quality. how's this trend going to be different if they sack wenger and replace him with del bosque? would del bosque buy quality players with his own personal money?

Now Arsenal are just managed to move to 7th position from 10th a position they have never been b4 at this stage of the competition. The likes of spurs, everton and even westbrom who are acting like spoilers are not smiling as they seem ambitious, but the problem is not how determined these clubs are but how Arsenal are letting themselves down with their play and result, they don't seem like a team playing with any conviction.
your observation is spot on but what has this gotta do with wenger?
look at dayo's transfer spend chart for the last 10 yrs.....see where arsenal are on that chart and compare to where they have finished. i repeat, that wenger is finishing 3rd/4th in the last 6 seasons is a testament to his managerial ability. benitez didn't have it as bad as this when liverpool nosedived under him and they have not been able to get back to the top four even after spending under kenny dalglish.

dayokanu: When Rooney had the chance, There were several options . He could wait for backup, hold the ball and try and get a foul at least it was in a "dangerous position" but he took the initiative and he took the shot and he scored Thats what Torres lack
stop embarrassing yourself.....who waits for backup in a classic counterattack?
these situations are what the players deal with every training session. ferguson went to etihad with a plan. soak city's pressure in the opening exchange and launch a counter-attack when the opportunity avails itself. see the one touch passing between van persie and ashley young....see young's drive to motor into city's half and then the killer pass that had rooney one on one with a defender/goalie. in counter-attacks, players don't wait for back up as it defeats the purpose. learn your football.

torres said:
You can see very clearly we don't pass the ball as much in the final third, play more direct and exploit the pace with Victor Moses or me or Eden Hazard and use the quality of Juan Mata and Oscar in middle. We're attacking more, creating more chances and working as a team. It takes time when new manager comes but the results gives us more confidence which is what we need now'

When Rooney got the ball vs Citeh he had at least 2 defenders around him
when rooney got the ball, he had one defender to beat....
he didn't even beat that defender, he shot on target....there was no one to pass to, ashley young was behind him.
the delivery from young was precise...he released the ball at the right time. oscar and hazard would have tried to beat a man and carry on into city's box and allowing city to reorganize their defence. watch football with your common sense.

dayokanu: Does Torres have a role to play in getting these chances? Is he doing his own role in getting these chances? Is he making the needed runs to make these chances?

If the teammates pass to him but he chickened out of the shots, Would that have counted as a chance created?

Lets look at the goals on Saturday. First goal Hazard floated a ball in and Torres attacked it jabbin it in, If Torres didnt attack that ball would it have been a chance? No. So who is to blame in that situation? The Midfielder or the striker?

2nd goal, If Torres didnt step up to take that penalty, Would it have been recorded as a chance for him? So would we still blame the players for not giving Torres the chance?

3rd goal. Torres got a ball and turned instantly shooting on the crossbar before Mata turned in the rebound. When Torres got the chance, there were several options like laying the pass to an oncoming player assuming he did that would that have been a chance?

Torres due to his failures over the last two years has exposed his limitation and fragile ego has lost confidence that he won't even take chances when they are offered to him and If you dont shoot you dont score. Basically what I have been saying he is too timid to take shots
you people keep repeating this same drivel....
if the chances are good enough, a striker shoots straight at goal. look at all the man utd gifs i have posted on this thread....why would rooney pass from the positions he found himself in the box? when torres got the ball against barcelona, why didn't he pass back or take the ball to the corner flag to waste time?
