Sports › Re: Which Of Yekinis Goals Do You Consider The Greatest by coogar: 9:03pm On May 05, 2012
dayokanu: This is a tribute to Our own Gangling Goalsfather Rashidi yekini

Which of his goals do you consider the best?

I know most people remember him scoring Nigerias first ever world cup goal but which of his goals do you consider the best.

Top among his goals

1. The blinder of a free kick scored vs gabon in the Sandy pitch at Libbreville

2. The goal vs Algeria in the 1993 qualifier in Lagos where he scored from almost the corner flag. Nigeria came back from a goal down to win 4-1.

3. Our first goal in Tunisia 1994 where he received a long ball from Oliseh, Lobbed the keeper and slotted it in. Nigeria won 3-0

4. Quarter finals Tunisia 1994 where he received a long raking pass from Oliseh Chested it and in one movement blasted into the net. Nigeria won 2-0

5. 3rd place match vs Cameroun in 1992 where he rounded the Camerounian keeper from almost the Half way and slotted into the net from a tight angle. Nigeria won 2-1

Kindly add any of his goals you remember

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-XBm7depyOng/TXaWSCm1eEI/AAAAAAAABl8/obu0ER-w5C0/nnn.jpg
the goal against zambia in algiers 90(semifinals).
it was a long diagonal cross and yekini met it with one of the most audacious volleys you would see.
outstanding tekkers, nigeria won 2-0!

StarBoard: And the same me spoke out about Ashley Young's signing and said he didn't offer us anything new.
Again, whatever City spends shouldn't be our business. If they win it, will you say they spent their way to the title?
Shouldn't City have packed up their tent based on the myth that United don't surrender any kind of lead in April, let alone an 8-point lead?
why won't this be our business for feck's sake. competing with the team that has a bottomless pit of
cash should not be our business? you are given a complex question in maths and you are asked to solve it
with a 4-figure table. your co-contestant is then given a laptop to solve his and you think you guys would
put up the same performance under a certain time? come on, wipe the blood on the side of your mouth.

Story.
So how does leaving Valencia on the bench (and for 80 minutes at that) explain your above position, given that he went lone-striker mode at City?
Everyone must play and it's a big squad, yet Dimitar Berbatov and Park Ji Sung for example haven't started games in doule digits combined for reasons best known to this manager you are defending.Paul Pogba hasn't been duly tested and his restlessness has been a distraction off the pitch.
i trust a manager who has delievered titles upon titles more than the hindsight analysis you are doing here.
at the end of the day, it is these people who see the players @ carrington complex, we fans just guess n permutate.
losing 0-1 to city is not the end of the world.

City won via a set-piece, but they won and should have had more. We didn't attempt a shot at goal and Joe Hart had his easiest game all season.Bottom line-City won after a very limp display by us.Wheter it was by a set-piece or not, they won.
We didn't have Evans and Vidic, true; but we supposedly had Chris Smalling and Rio Ferdinand. How come they couldn't prevent the set-piece from going in. They were CBs,the last time I checked and dealing with aerial balls should be their primary responsibility. The way you spin it, it's like Rio and Chris aren't supposed to deal with set-pieces by definition.
but it was chris smalling that allowed kompany to score. if we had vidic or evans on the pitch,
smalling wouldn't have started. he's a promising player but he's not the best central defender at united.
city played their strongest possible team, united didn't and it'e because of the obscene amount of injuries
we have had to cope with. think of when valencia/carrick played in the defence n lost to blackburn @ old trafford!

yes, we have won at the etihad before but the quality of the city squad have changed since then.

Really?
coogar, please spare me.
8 points wasn't really 8 points. Then explain what it was to me. Because 8 points is two losses and a draw.
Goal difference is over-rated, jare. I have never seen anywhere a league title is decided by goal difference. It's one of those fictitious entities that exist in the mind of football analysts with nothing else to say.
goal difference is not overrated. if it is, why are city on top of us?
we have the same number of points and should the leagu endd tonight, city are the champions.
this is why goals difference is (+1) on it's own.

And even if we want to assume GD is a factor, what stopped our strikers from scoring when they had a man advantage vs QPR ,for example? What stopped your strikers from taking their feet off the pedal vs Newcastle at OT till Newcastle equalised, then we started throwing the whole house at them and couldn't score even when they played the last 10 minutes a man down.?Why did your defence collude to conceded 2 goals in 2 minutes vs Everton? The way you talk about it, you would think City were blessed with the GD "advantage" by default when we have basically helped them to that advantage.
As per the Etihad game, you talk like we've never won there before. Even with you GD analysis, didn't we know that a City win there would hand them a boost? What did Sunderland do that was special to earn them a 3-all draw over there just a month ago?
this is a whole lot of noise. united have actually punched above their weight this season unless
you are not appreciative of what fergie has done. dayokanu - man utd's biggest critic even opined
some weeks back that if united win this league then the others are just utter wankers for allowing
a team so disjointed by injuries to win the league title. still, city are struggling to shake united off.

You talk like the "harder"games weren't winable.
Prior to the Wigan game, did you expect that game to be lost, given that we had beaten them in 13 Premier league games previously?
As per the Everton game,Fergie picked the squad, so he gets the blame.Besides, if he was paying attention, he should have noticed the defensive lapse in concentration the minute Everton's second goal. Watch Rio' and Evans'collusion to gift them their third goal. But he sat there, chewing his gum with his false teeth, expecting us to just win the game instead of driving the fear of the underworld into his players (ask Johnny Evans about FErgie vs Milan at San Siro. My lip-reading probably told me Fergie said something nasty about his [Evans'] grand-mother).
hehehe.
this was the same fergie that won at goodison park, won at cardiff(swansea), won at spurs(against all odds),
won at the emirates(very difficult game) and turned a potential loss at stamford bridge into a draw.
as far as performance is concerned, this season has been one of our best in terms of results, not so much good football.
but i understand why the footie hasn't been world class. the constant change in personnel due to injuries is the reason.

Like I said before, I don't give a rat's balls about what City does.Mancini has never been rated in my eyes.So the City win is actually making him look like a genius because FErgie chose to play 4-5-1 with key players left on the bench.
I'm shocked you're defending Ji Sung Park who couldn't do anything right that night. It was almost laughable the way he fellow kept being bundled over and losing his balance like a faulty spining top.Toure ran that midfield like it was his inheritance because Fergie suddenly remembered Park out of the blue and thought he'd do a job based on his rep as a "big-game player".Park might not have bothered to show up and we wouldn't have noticed, really.
you don't have to rate mancini to win the league. with the vast of talents at his disposal, i would have won the league.
ji sung park did a very good job on yaya toure. yes, park did not contribute anything offensively and he lost possession
each time he had it but he did a job on toure. the stats on opta backs that and it's the reason fergie played him.
the only mistake was ryan giggs in the attack. welbeck should have played on the left if fergie was really dying to play 4-3-3.
it was a gamble and it didn't work out. it happens sometimes.

So we now judge United based on their next fixtures, not necessarily because we are supposedly superior than the teams involved in the fixtures?
I thought we were the great United.
Wigan and Everton had no business taking any points off United. I repeat. These are teams we've beaten soundly:Everton at OT is a regular banker for a home win. Same for Wigan at DW for an away win. Please spare me the rhetoric.Even the team of last season managed to beat these same sides at the respective locations. So what are you driving at?
by the same token, we had no business taking 3 points off arsenal, spurs and plenty of other
bogey teams this season. you can't have it both ways. man utd this season had taken maximum
points in games they were clearly the 2nd best. you keep saying we have beaten teams before
without looking at the current quality at disposal. of course if we had the same team that was
running riots with anderson/cleverley in the core, we would have won the league by now but injury
has done it's damage - we just have to accept our fate or be destroyed by it.

We thought we had a big squad. We were salivating about how well we were doing early in the season without "regulars". So why we're using injuries as an alibi beats me.We bought mediocres and extras and we thought we had arrived.
go and check out injury room and see the number of our wounded players over the season.
it's ridiculous! no manager can forsee such.

Anderson:has to be one of the worst buys by United in history.Aside from his first season, dude hasn't managed to do anything tangible aside shed his locks.Apparently the top layer of his cranium went with it.
Fletcher:Had only one exceptional season (2008/9).Since then he's been largely crap, to be honest.I feel for the fellow, though. He's been a loyal servant to us,but he's past it,clearly.
Cleverley:Largely untested, like I said earlier this season. One season with Wigan and we came to the conclusion that he would take over the AM role for us because he starred well in the CS win over City.
I repeat:the only key miss has been Vidic.By far the best CB in Europe when on his feet. Since he's been gone, the others have lost their heads.Evans was getting his back till he returned to his zombie-ish ways vs Everton.
The CS game was a one-off,with nothing more than BRAGGING RIGHTS at stake. So it doesn't mean anything to me.
it's funny how a single game changes your general perspective in the grand scheme of things.
anderson, fletcher and cleverley are brilliant players. if we had them firing injury-free, we wouldn't
have needed scholes/giggs in the 2nd half of the season. fletcher was the right antidote to toure's rampaging
runs. in the absence of the triumvirate, who else do we have that can be a hatchetman on the pitch, no one.
this was the reason the role fell to ji sung park who wasn't bad at what his role was. city scored from a corner-kick.

There was no way the Kompany block was going to be called a penalty. There was no guarantee the kick would have been scored. So stop counting your chickens where there are no eggs in place.
Fergie's line-up was dodgy because there was no point isolating Rooney when Nani-goat and Giggs couldn't provide necessary service.
Fergie's subs were baffling because I do not yet understand why our best winger was left on the bench for 80+ minutes.
Despite his tactics, Toure still had a good degree of freedom because overweight and unfit Park couldn't stifle him as planned.
FErgie should have signed CMs in the summer, but got a deadbeat and over-rated winger instead.
Fergie has been a dolt so far.
a shot on target blocked by the arm is a penalty. there's no guarantee carrick would have scored and there's no
guarantee hart would have saved it as well. a shot on target blocked by the arm is a penalty. the referee ignored
cos the incident was in the first minute of the game. if it had happened after city had scored, he woulda given it.
but all that is in the past now. united have done very very well this season - for a squad undergoing their rebuilding
process and are still challenging the money bags, special thanks must go to fergie.

Leave Barca. When you celebrate being played nearly 80% possession on average and playing 4-6-0, I wonder what this world is coming to.
Of course I expect you to hail RDM a tactical genius.
World class squad? One that cannot beat Basel over two ties and qualify even when a draw is neede.
Spare me. So by extension, Ashley Young is World Class, same as Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck? We learn everyday sha.
Barca lost to Rubin Kazan and went on to win that season's CL title, so that reference isn't valid, abeg.
they are not world class players but they have put in decent shifts this season and things could only
get better from now on. i don't see how the newly acquired players are getting the stick here. ashley young
has been very good. same as welbeck, phil jones and even chris smalling. look around the league and check out
names like charlie adam, henderson, andy caroll, etc and compare!

We only make assumptions but the above is not factual by any means because you don't have a sample t owork with.
If Fergie had Ballotelli and TEvez,as you imply, can you beat your chest and say the above?
city have the better quality - and their bill of health is very outstanding.
they have only lost 2-4 players to injuries all season. compare to man utd and the difference is massive.
a manager can only make do of what he's got at his disposal. while fergie had to chop n change, mancini was
lounging with a fit squad week in week out.

As for the blood on the mouth, I'm pretty sure it's your reflection from the mirror? grin You were the one projecting or line-up for the City game and guard of honour. So why are you attacking me?
yes, i did.
wiht 8 points clear and wigan and everton in the way, those games were supposed to be bread n butter.
when i saw the way wigan played us, i raised me hands up and applauded their undying spirit. it was no fluke,
they battered arsenal in the next game and the barcodes were mauled by them too.

everton at old trafford is the only game you can criticize here(especially from the position where we'd let it slip).
4-2 @ 7 mins to go shouldn't have been a problem at old trafford. the players should take the blame for that, not fergie.
his tactics had worked to get us to 4-2 in the first place. how did the boys let it slip? tiredness? fatigue? reliance on
old pensioners because of the injuries to the key players in the midfield? take your pick!

Ibime: Another unknowledgeable fool chatting nonsense.
Chelsea lost 2006/2007 for several reasons none of which has to do with Ballacks ability.
JM had to carry dud Sheva in his team for a whole season prompting Jose to change to a diamond formation and bench Robben and Duff.
you're an unrepentant charlatan with poop for brains. chelsea lost 2006/7 cos of ballack not sheva.
what has shevchenko got to do with it when drogba won the league's golden boot that season?
i have told you times without number. the fatty acids in your cranial cavity are eating out your braincells.

Even still, Chelsea woulda won the league except for our defensive crisis in November/December/January when Cech got his head broken and was replaced by Hilario who proceeded to drop points with cheap mistakes.
cry me a river -
which football club has not suffered one injury blow to another. it's a disgrace
that a chelsea team put together with £500m down the drain has no 2nd goalie. i would still
blame ballack for that mishap. the money spent on his wages coulda bought gianluca buffon in 06/07.

At the same time, Chelsea had to play with Ferreira and Essien at centre-back during the whole of December when Carvalho and Terry got injured whilst Jose shunned Boulahrouz. That period, we went from 5 points ahead of Utd to 8 points behind.
Absolutely nothing to do with Ballack.
goodness me!
these excuses are starting to make me puke.
when the whole team was back together prim n proper the following season(07/08), what
was ballack's contribution? grin

That was when Jose asked for Micah Richards and David Silva to replace Boulahrouz and Sheva and when Chelsea told him to take Alex back from PSV instead, he made his statement about class C eggs. You my friend know nothing about midfield play so stop chatting shite.
hehehe - he made a statement about class c eggs when ballack failed him. chelsea lot the edge
in the midfield, not the attack. drogba was the top shooter in 06/07. ballack had come to
upset the structure in the midfield that used to have makelele/lamapard/essien.

After that season, Chelsea was playing with duds Malouda and Joe Cole on the wing, and Ballack, Lampard and Essien were the ones who carried Chelsea to anything they managed to achieve even in the absence of good wingers.
remove ballack from that triumvirate. it was lampard + essien + makelele.
where would ballack rank in the chelsea midfield of 06/07?
is he better than any of lamps, essien or makelele? never!!!!

I cant imagine Carrick carrying wingers like Malouda (whose form was absolutely terrible until 09/10) and Joe Cole.
He might get relegated like he did at West Ham after Lampard left him to carry Joe Cole and such by himself.
grin grin grin
carrick is very intelligent. he would work with any winger at his disposal.
he made js park look world class in 08/09 for feck's sake with accurate passes.

Ibime: Stop chatting nonsense. . . .Mourinho never branded Ballack Class c eggs. Mourinho was talking about Boulahrouz and Sheva.
Didnt you (Sauron) claim you went to Champions League final in Moscow? Which one you dey talk say na Rome?
mourinho branded ballack and sheva as class c eggs.
it was ballack's acquisition that upset mourinho's title hunt. fergie beat him to it.

First half of the final in Rome, Scholes (not Carrick) dominated midfield. . . but only cos the midfield was pushed back by Ronaldo whom Joe Cole dropped back to virtually right-back to double up with Essien on Ronaldo. Manures width created space for Scholes to pick passes.
which scholes? it was carrick. scholes was a passenger apart from the 1-2 he did with wes brown
to produce a cross for ronaldo's header. after then, scholes went to sleep. it was carrick intercepting
and finding hargreaves and ronaldo with precision long balls. you ought to go n watch the game again.
your amnesia kicked in at the wrong time.

Second half and extra time, Ballack, Lampard and Makelele absolutely shitted on Carrick and Scholes despite still having Joe Cole playing virtually right-back.
that was after scholes got bruised and was substituted. it was carrick alone from then on as giggs was useless
in the centre of the pitch offering no defensive shield and lost the ball more than all the players on the pitch.

Omo, no yarn nonsense here. Ballack was absolute quality in his time at Chelsea. As soon as he left, guys were wondering how Chelsea went from title contenders every season to struggling with the likes of Ramires.
chelsea stopping winning the league when ballack arrived. until his arrival, jose had done back to back titles.
he was supposed to win the 3rd one and ballack scuppered his plans. united then won 3 titles back to back.
ballack had to wait for 3 seasons to win a league title and you're here yapping nonsense whereas carrick is the
only common factor in the united midfield from 2006/7 till date and he has won 4 league titles.

if cisse does what he did tonight against city, it would be carrick's 5th league title missing one
narrowly via drogba's offside goal at old trafford. it's no coincidence carrick is rated outside
the shores of england by players who appreciate brains over brawns.

Ask Chelseans, even when Chelsea went to Bayer Arena in Champions league this season, 36 year old Ballack still ran midfield.

Carrick ko, Carrick ni! Please dont mention lucky players here. Carrick can only show medals that the likes of Ronaldo, Nani, Vidic and Rooney won for him.
but it was carrick pissing on ballack in rome - champions league final.
dictating the play, creating chances. had tevez been brilliant, united
should have wrapped up 3 good goals before lampard got a flukey goal that
got chelsea back in the fight.

what about the other league games both have had to face each other.
it was carrick shitting on ballack over n over again with chelsea
always needing the help of a referee to engineer a penalty or a phantom freekick to cop draws/victories.

ballack was the bomb in germany, by the time he got to the premier league, he was rubbish.
lampard, scholes, fabregas, carrick, gerrard, alonso all shat on him.
he was so useless, mourinho denied his acquisition and branded him class c eggs. grin cheesy

and i was just showing you how many players did more than van persie in the 90% of the stats compiled.

i have not made any mistake, arsehole. if i did, rooney's goals that i analysed wouldn't have added up.
my intention was to give you the stats of 06/07 to 11/12 but i wasn't arsed to update from march 23rd last year.
i cannot mention march 23rd last year and then claim the stats covered up till this season. you have to be daft
to even think that was what i meant. comprehension skills are missing in ritchboy's nervous system coordination.

its apparent half the cube-root of my iq is beyond you.

Correction.
It's not knee-jerk.
I've been saying what I said all season. How can that be a knee-jerk?Is it possible, even from your lofty intellectual standards (by you) that a knee jerk lasts 9 months?
no you haven't.
you did not complain when united smashed arsenal at the emirates, smashed spurs at white hart lane.
fought for a draw at the bridge and got a deserved draw at anfield. as far as seasons go, this is united's
best season. we are on 83 points with 2 games to go. we could end up with 89 even in spite of the losses to
man city, wigan and newcastle. how did united manage to stay toe to toe with man city with the bazillion of
pounds they have spent?

He's been messing with the line-ups all season. I can pull out your posts about Fergie's brain-farts.
Please don't give me that crap about where ae are and Fergie's brilliance, abeg.
yes - he has messed up with the line-ups. he has to otherwise he would lose players.
we have a big squad and everyone must play. hindsight is a bytch. he almost pulled it off and city won
via a goal from set-piece. hardly any new innovation. we didn;t have evans, vidic or fletcher(players suited for
games like this).

We were 8 points clear and City were all but dead and buried.Contrast three weeks later and you're preaching this sermon of left-overs after losing like a man who got his erect.ion up while wi th a lady and lost it instantly, but claimed that it was a success because he got her naked.
Fergie's brilliance?
8 points clear wasn't really 8 points. they had better +goals deficit which means 7 points.
they were playing us at the etihad - where they have an exemplary record which means 4 points.

after arsenal's game, city had an easier run of fixtures than us. everton and wigan were in the
form of their lives. we messed up against everton but how was that fergie's fault? he chose a team.
the team were coasting at 4-2 with few mins to go and you wanna blame fergie for the lapse in concentration
in the last few minutes?

REfer to what I said with his messing with line-ups.
What is brilliant about not qualifying from a group with the weakest composition in the CL?
What is brilliant about starting Ji Sung Park?
wWhat is brilliant about playing Blackburn with Rafael in CM?
What is brilliant about freezing out Dimitar Berbatov?
What is brilliant about playing 5 in the middle against City with the wrong set of players?
I could go on and on for this season, but let's just leave it there.
this is overanalysis.
if we had drawn at etihad, city fans would have asked the same question about mancini.
a game they should have drawn but lost, a match they should have won but drew.
it's all the same ish. ji sung park started because someone had to curtail yaya toure's bursting runs.
without anderson, fletcher and cleverley battling for form, who else would have managed the task like park did?

Not the point.
Quit this feel-good at all costs syndrome. You were 8 points ahead three matches ago.Now we've resorted to thsi at-all, at-all na im bad pass mentality.
8 points with 3 matches to go is what people would keep saying but it was 8 points with 3 tricky fixtures.
wigan's result was no fluke. you saw what they did with arsenal at the emirates(same arsenal smashed city) and
how they destroyed newcastle last weekend. everton game was the one you can really criticize and it wasn't fergie's fault.

Says who?Even Mancini has grown a set of balls and isn't even afraid of going jaw to jaw with him. So what aura are you talking about?
Please, this Fergie I see is over-rated and has been since 2008/9.Just check the rubbish his teams have been playing since then.
As for the Everton game, whose fault was it then? The players he put out?
Or did taking out Paul Scholes more out of preservation for the City in the belief the game had been won have anything to do with it?
scholes was tired. matter of fact, it was because he delayed taking scholes out that we dropped 2 points against everton.
there was no direct pressure on the man with the ball and everton walked into our defence atimes. fergie is overrated, won
the league last season, finished as finalist in the champions league and he lasted the distance again this term.
he deserves some credits. since 2004, it's fergie that has stood up to the moneybags that have polluted the land.

he fought chelsea till jose mourinho got sacked. city have been spending money since shinawatra/sven eriksson in 2007.
for 5 yrs, they have spent n spent to be where we are and still they haven't managed to shake united off.
if we win the league in a fortnight, that would be the 5th time in the last 6 seasons. the only time we did not win it
chelsea beat us to it by a point(courtesy of drogba's offside goal @ old trafford).

look around the big leagues in europe - show me a team with the same outstanding achievement in the face of rich adversaries.

Hehehe.
Spare me this blazay of winning the league being his finest achievement.
Again,I don't care what City do.As fans, our duty is to be better than they are,no matter what they spent. Are we going to use that as an excuse in the event of our failure?
why don't you want to care about what city do? a club doped-up by cash to achieve instant success in comparison to a manager mixing it?
come on - there's little fergie can do to city's spendings. they have a big squad and they have also been lucky with injuries.

Also I don't want to hear about missing key players.Of all our injured players, only Vidic was key. The others-Anderson,Fletcher, Cleverley, Owen-are clearly not up to scratch as regards modern day football and wouldn't have done much to salvage any situation. We had a chance to buy, but we got one-trick pony Young and giraffe Jones who started like houses on fire but have since fizzled out.
We have not done considerably well anything.
anderson, fletcher, cleverley are quality players. it was the same anderson-cleverley that
destroyed city in the community shield in a must-win game for city. injuries, injuries, injuries.
if they were fit, the burden on scholes to deliver week in week out at 37 would have been eased.
vidic was another key player. when kompany was injured for city, they misfired as well.

We could not muster a shot at goal in our biggest game of the season, looking as toothless as Wolverhampton Wanderers. Yet folks like you told us we could feild Pogba and Amos for this game because you believed by the time this game came around, the City folks would be forming a guard of honour.
Fergie takes the blame for his tactics, substitutions and their timings. Squarely. You have a Wayne Rooney in some scoring form yet you isolate him by himself and leave a Valencia on the bench while Nani-goat roams around the field bleating aimlessly for 80 minutes without making a decent contribution all game, and you expect me to believe Fergie wasn't at fault.
if kompany hadn't handled carrick's shot in the first minute, we would have registered a goal or
perhaps scored. that particular shot registered as a blocked shot. city forming a guard of honour
was supposed to be the plan if we had beaten everton and wigan. but we dropped 5 points in those 2 games.

fergie's line up was dodgy but i could understand why he played the way he did. if we had gone gung-ho and
lost by a wide margin, you would be here saying the same ish that he shoulda been cautious. 2 things were key in
the match. let yaya toure roam and damage us or curtail yaya toure at the expense of attacking play and stifle city.

fergie chose the latter and lost his gamble. it happens.

You have a Premier League leader that can't muster a shot attempt at goal after setting up shop to draw the game and it wasn'tr Fergie's fault.
We know the best teams don't win leagues all the time, but don't you dare lump us togetehr with Barcelona, abeg.
the same barcelona that were 2 goals up and playing chelsea who had 10 men on the pitch in camp nou.
after 90 mins, score was 2-2. i am sure that is worse than losing narrowly to city at the etihad.

Records are in the past.
Face the reality of the present. We don't have a squad that is decent enough.
We lost to Basel of all teams. How can you then justify those records?Ok, let me guess-it's football, abi.
If I'm spoilt, it's because i know what a good thing is. I know a good Man United side when I see it. A good United side wouldn't lose to Basel.
we have a world class squad - we only need 2-3 players in the midfield. i disagree the whole
team should be scrapped and rebuilt again. we lost to basel - barcelona lost to rubin kazan/shaktar donetsk at nou camp

I've seen United sides that would put this current bunch to shame.
And I don't support Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. So I can't answer that question about supporting them.
i doubt it unless you don't factor the obscene amount of injuries united had to deal with.
we shouldn't be where we are at the moment. if fergie had the team mancini had, the league
would have been wrapped by now. liverpool, arsenal and chelsea with the same stake as united
are 17 points below.......why must it have to be united challenging for the title every season
even though statistics showed they have been outspent by their rivals?

and you say fergie isn't brilliant? wipe the side of your mouth, i see some blood on it. grin

comprehension seems to be your biggest limitation.
the statistics i intended to cut was from 06/07 till 11/12(6 seasons) but i couldn't be arsed
to update it till this season and i provided the last one i calculated which was 23rd of march
last year. how can i put up the stats i admitted was correct till 23rd of march 2011 and claim
it covered up till this season. why are you such an obdurate w@nker?

... Which renders your latest argument as idiotic as the last.

I'm now convinced you are being stupid intentionally cos no multi-cellular organism is capable of this level of daftness.
you're the one being intentionally obtuse to distract other readers. if you peruse very well
with your nervous system and not with your phallus, the explanation is clear. my stats was
supposed to cover 06/07 till 11/12 but the stats was complete up till march 23rd last year.

coogar: this was the statistic as at march 23 last year.
i can't be arsed to update but as you can see, there are many strikers in the league
who has contributed more than van persie as far as creativity is concerned.
i have to say this cos posterity would judge if no one ever mentions the fact that
you are possibly the most retarded human being this planet has produced. this is not

any individual fed on baby food/breast milk to be this dumb even if he's doing it deliberately.

StarBoard: Fergie thinks his aura will see him to the title, like it's his birthright. But he forgets that folks like Mancini want the title more and as such appear more desperate.
But no, they say he's earned the right to start with Ryan Giggs against a side full of energetic players.which is why I laughed in shock when I saw the lineup yesterday.Dven ocean boys will beat that side put out yesterday.
this knee-jerk needs to stop. yes, fergie messed up with the line-up. we all said that before the game
but then that we are even where we are on the table is a testament to fergie's brilliance. look at the
other teams(chelsea, arsenal, liverpool). how far behind are they on the table? city have spent half a
billion pounds to get to where we are and it's still neck and neck. yes, fergie's aura will win him
the title. it wasn't fergie's fault we pissed points away against everton.

If by any stroke of fortune we win the league, I repeat, it is NOT worth celebrating.
This side is as useless as I've ever seen a united side.Past squads would have gone down fighting.Instead we went out with a whimper and Fergie resorted to brawling with Mancini as a diversion.
He needs to go ASAP.
if we win the league, it would be fergie's biggest achievement - although the chance is slim now.
there's no daylight between us and city despite the amount of money they have spent and even taking tevez back.
united on the other hand has missed vidic, fletcher and some key players needed in a game of that intensity.
we have done considerably well. if someone offered you this position after city mauled us 6-1 in october, you would
bite off their hands. yes, the squad needs to be revamped but i don't see how fergie takes all the blame here.
barcelona - the best team in the world won't win the la liga this season. these things happen!

2008 - man utd
2009 - man utd
2010 - chelsea
