In Nigeria, Government is not an institution but a person.

Our institutions are weak, and our politicians know this.

When government build roads, we think it's a privilege.
When salaries are paid, we count it as a blessing.
When we receive or experience anything near normal, like quality healthcare, social amenities, security e.t.c, we are excited and feel privileged.

We've been see trodden upon and broken and abused as a people that we have no clue of our rights and what we deserve. So we find it difficult to make a distinction between that and privilege.

We talk about everything, bit we act on nothing. The people holding our leashes (the politicians and cartel) know this, so they don't flinch when we rant. They know they'll get away with almost anything.
